Chester somehow managed to find herself in a sticky situation. Literally. Making her way through the forest towards the outlaws meeting, regarding plans to 'convince' a certain God to 'join' their 'cause', Chester had to manuver her way through the webbing from the giant spiders. How that fight brought back unwanted memories. But things didn't want to seem to go her way, it was bad enough she had tripped and caused a nasty gash to occupy her right leg, but she also managed later to trip backwards right into the webbing, leaving her helpless. If she didn't get help soon, a nasty infection would build up in the wound, if it hadn't already, she's been stuck for long enough, and leave walking out of commission for who knows how long. And THAT wouldn't sit well with Itami, Chester would be dead before... Well she's dead by her now anyways.
She had long since stopped trying to escape, it was of no use, and she knew her family would eventually find her... Even if it was a rotting corpse, or herself as a baby Demon, cause Sun Goddess she knows she wont be reborn as a Angel. Time slowly ticked away, and all Chester could be thankful about was how she did manage to kill those spiders, 'cause she's sure they would have made a gourmet meal out of her by now.

Akvan was upset. Not in his usual way, in which his duties made him loath himself for killing, but in a different and more frustrating way. During a drunken night of partying on Gensho's request, the Demon God of Night had stolen Akvan's sword, claiming that Akvan would get it back once he'd loosened up and relaxed. Onrah had got in on the fun, and everyone knew how far the God of Death went with jokes. Before Akvan knew it, a drunk Onrah was hauling Akvan's blade half-way across Sohul yelling 'go fetch!'. And now here Akvan was, flying low as he scanned the forest floor of Rycora in search for the blade. In the Sun Goddess' name Akvan hoped it landed somewhere safe, and not embedded in some poor, surprised soul's head. That Onrah was so careless when he was drunk, although if he killed someone it would be on his hands anyway, so the God of Death wasn't doing himself any favors.
Akvan had to slow down when things got thicker in the forest, and the maze of silver webbing ahead surprised the Demon God. What giant spiders caused these nightmare of webs? And where were they? The Demon landed before deciding to continue on, best not to risk his wings getting stuck. Although that caution wasn't really necessary, as Akvan found out as he walked passed the silver webs and the webbing began to rot and crumble in his presence. The God smiled slightly, perhaps sometimes his sickly aura was useful. Walking onward without trouble, Akvan sighed. He could be here forever, and the hung-over Gensho and Onrah didn't even offer to help find the weapon they'd tossed away like a wet towel. The Demon God looked forwards, and turned a bit paler. There was someone stuck on the webbing, probably a victim of the spider who owned the trap. Akvan turned to move around it, he didn't really fancy walking near a rotting body. And yet, suddenly the body moved, and Akvan stopped to try and look closely. So, it was alive still, Akvan hesitated. He made sure his wings and tail were invisible with dark magic before rushing closer. Not too close, but enough that he could clearly see the person, Akvan inspected the damage. An injury on her leg, but it wasn't infected yet since Akvan couldn't sense any of his infection magic around the wound, but that would probably change if Akvan got too close. "Ummm.... excuse me? I suppose you're not sitting there by choice right?" Akvan asked nervously, leaning down to get a better look at the girl's eyes so she could see him.

Chester would have jumped back if it was possible, but seeing how she was stuck still.. Well she rather not dwell on that. "I admit, at first it was rather comfy, now its just frozen my joints together... I've been here for hours. Mind helping?" Chester began to twist and turn, finding it in herself to once again try and get free, but just like earlier she barely even did anything. She was just grateful that someone finally managed to come along. "Im Chester by the way, I just wish we met under, better circumstances." She chuckled nervously, hoping that they were kind enough to actually help her down, thankful it wasn't Itami, the witch would have laughed and left her there to rot. And It was obvious they were a Demon, she could tell after growing up with the outlaws for so long, but who it was... Is something she couldn't figure out.

Akvan winced, his question was a little silly. Especially seeing as this woman had been stuck for hours now. Akvan looked around the thick webs currently sticking this woman to the spot. Plus, whatever squirming she'd done had made the situation worse, since web attached to web to create thicker and stronger strings. Akvan smiled slightly, "Of course, just hold on a second..." Akvan was about to place a hand on the web and cause the entire thing to rot and die, but then he suddenly thought it through. She wasn't a fellow Demon, but a Human. Showing her disease magic would mean revealing himself. Akvan hesitated. If he had a sword right now, he could just cut through the webs easy, but of course certain Demons made that option impossible. Akvan panicked for a moment, thinking on the possibility of just leaving her here if he couldn't do anything to help. But then she brought him back to the present by giving her name. Akvan's lips quivered, before he eventually gave in to keeping himself secret. Odds were, rather depressingly, using his magic to free her would probably infect her wound and lead to her dying anyway. "I'm... Akvan, i-it's not a problem, please remain still." Akvan placed a hand on the web and concentrated. Maybe if he was focused enough, Akvan could avoid infecting Chester in the process of removing the webs. A simple, silent command, Akvan sent his magic down the web. Turning a sickly green, the webs rotted and crumbled, soon freeing Chester from their sticky hold.

Chester almost wanted to run when she worked out who he was... The rotting of the web gave it away. Though she had no worries about getting infected by him, she spent enough time with all sorts of Demons to live with that, she knew Akvan was the one Itami was taking about, and if Chester stayed near him, without doing anything... She hated to think of what Itami would do to her. "Th-Thank you." She didn't run, but all of her body was telling her to do so, instead she brushed herself down, and ripped yet another vest as a makeshift bandage, she would have to start bringing one around with her. "Erm, if its not too much to ask but... What are you doing around here?" It wasn't that she was being nosy, but any moment her family could come crashing in looking for her, or just generally traveling around... She didn't want Akvan getting caught in that, especially knowing what Itami could do to the both of them. That AND she was being a little nosy, he was far from any immediate civilisation in this area, and there wasn't really any reason to be walking around here.

Chester's fear was obvious, and Akvan looked on the ground as soon as he could. He supposed showing her his freaky magic would probably scare her off, and so was expecting her to turn and run. "Ummm... it's no problem." Akvan glanced up, only to check if his disease magic had indeed infected her. But surprisingly, she was safe and healthy, if only a little shaken up. It was a relief. Chester was a nice girl, seeing her now standing up, she looked the sweet and kind type. Her eyes showed it. The least Akvan wanted was for someone like her to get a rough time out of Akvan's presence. The woman asked what he was doing, and Akvan hummed, scratching his head. "A few... friends of mine decided to throw something very precious to me across the forest. I don't want it ending in the wrong hands, so I'm here looking for it." Akvan hoped no one had found it. Fortunately, so long as Akvan wasn't holding it, the sword's magic didn't activate, and so wouldn't be causing a major pandemic quite yet. But it was still an ancient and magical weapon, and Akvan would get in deep trouble if it landed in a Human's hands. Well, hopefully Onrah and Gensho would be the ones in trouble. Akvan sighed, smiling slightly to Chester. "My... friends can be a handful, they think they're helping me by pulling pranking me." Akvan looked around at the slowly dying webs. It was like his magic was cleaning up the forest, probably the first favor Akvan had done in years. "S-so what about you Miss. Chester? What's bringing you here?"

Akvan wasn't anything like Itami had described him in the past... And for that she was grateful, it would give her peace of mind when she lied about seeing him around when Itami next decided to 'visit' her. "You know, I can help you look... I know virtually all of this forest. And you know, what they do may seem like its not, but never forget that they are just trying to help, and it helps more than you know." Chester watched in slight amazement when the webbing began to rot, while leaving everything else unharmed, it would have taken her years to clean out the webbing that blocked the paths, and now, she didn't even need to worry about such a thing.
She almost turned and ran when he asked why she was here, its not like she could tell him 'Oh, I was just on my way to a meeting with the outlaws about your unknown 'recruitment' plans' but at the same time she really didn't want to leave. This could be her only chance to become friends with someone outside the scheming and planning or a rebellion, that she somehow managed to be roped into. "Erm... I was just ma-making sure I had... kil-killed the spiders that created this webbing." She both wanted to congratulate herself for the quick thinking, and also hit herself for stuttering while thinking of it. At this rate it would have been better to tell him the truth. "Come on, what is it you are looking for? And please just Chester... Miss makes me feel old."

Akvan nodded slightly. Gensho and Onrah did help him a lot. Recently they'd been doing it more frequently. Jumping on him in the street, making him feel a little better about himself, and tossing his sword across Sohul with a grin. The God smiled a bit, looking at Chester. "I guess you're right... It might feel like a pain, but they're the only friends I've got." Akvan admitted. He didn't feel close to anyone else but his two brothers. Gensho had been the only one for years as a child, and then Akvan began to soften up to Onrah when he became a God. Akvan looked around at the rotting webs. "Sometimes it's useful being a g- I-I mean, m-my magic can be useful s-sometimes." Akvan quickly saved. He'd no idea that Chester already knew who he was, and hoped she'd not connected dots. Most Humans didn't react to Akvan very well, and they had every right to hate him.
Something seemed off with Chester's reason for being here, but Akvan couldn't judge the woman for stuttering, since that was all he ever did himself. Akvan blinked in surprise. "Wow, that must have been some work to kill spiders big enough to make these webs." Akvan commented, smiling to Chester. Humans were surprising. They seemed so weak, especially how Itami was teaching Akvan to view them, and yet they could take care of issues most Demons would see as too hard for the delicate Human race. Chester seemed to want to move off, and so Akvan nodded. "Yeah, thanks. It's a sword, so I'm hoping it's somewhere safe." He answered, waiting to follow Chester. As they walked, Akvan thought of ways a couple of Humans would talk, if he was trying to keep his identity hidden right now. "So, ummm... what's your view on the Demon and Angel thing right now? It's a real debate huh?"

"Well, they aren't you only friends anymore" Chester knew that this wasn't a smart move, despite how much she truly did want to be his friend. If her family ever found out... She would hate to think about what would happen to not just herself, but Akvan as well. Especially with Itami. She wanted to shudder at the thought. Chester took a reach for his hand, but quickly stopped herself, if what she knew was true then she didn't want to scare him away with such touches. Making a small walk towards the most direct path, she was surprised to hear that they were looking for such a small object. "No offence or anything but the chances of finding a sword in this forest is quite unlikely." Chester felt bad for admitting such a thing, but on more than one occasion had she misplaced something much larger in this expanse of greenery, that she has yet to find again. Taking a breath it was difficult to answer such a question, as she knew more than she should, about all Angel and Demons and the Outlaws plans, but very little about the views of her own race. "I think the debate is stupid. Everyone plays their part, without one, we cannot have the other. Hate is not something any of us need." She hoped what she said was enough, for she knew nothing more to say on the matter, not without giving away anything major. "What about your views?" Chester secretly was hoping to uncover something that she could use to protect him in the future, but at the rate Itami is going, such a wish seems unlikely.

"Well, they aren't your only friends anymore" Akvan could have fallen over as he got hit with the sudden announcement. This was something very new. Akvan had met people before, not many were Humans, and none of them ever wanted to be his friend. Perhaps Chester was different, or Akvan saving her from the webs made her feel a need to repay him, but this was the first time Akvan had been so surprised. And so happy. But then with that joy came doubt. What if Chester knew who he was and was only trying to catch the Demon off guard? Or simply wanted to distract the Demon with the idea of trust to try and get around him. Akvan looked at the ground, still blushing slightly from the idea of making a friend. Akvan thought about his sword. "I wish the other two would've thought about that when they threw it. But I can't just give up on finding it. Worse comes to worse I'll have to get the other two searching too. But the sword's enchanted, which means I have a slight mental link to it." Akvan could sense the sword using his God powers, but he didn't want to admit that to Chester, not if she actually was considering him a Human friend.
"I agree. The Humans, I mean, we Humans seemed to react a bit harsh to the idea of Demons and Angels controlling our world. But it's not that bad is it? Even if you do or don't know that Demons and Angels are in control, your life remains the same." That was what Akvan thought. But then, "In a way, I kinda wish that they stayed invisible and unknown. I mean, when death was simply natural, people could just accept it. But now they, we, know that Demons and Angels are involved, we have someone to blame, and our hatred grows and so does their despair." Akvan kicked a stone across the ground, lips pursed as he thought aloud. "If I was them, I'd want to be invisible."

Chester almost wanted to lye down and cry at that announcement, and she suddenly became very hateful towards all who would dare be cruel to such a nice person. She didn't even bother from stopping the lone tear that escaped her eyes when she answered. "Im kind of glad they are not, there are some extremely nice ones out there that become life long friends... We humans just want someone to blame.. Its not a Demons or Angels fault that they are given this duty, but what they do, especially the gods work, is extraordinary, and though im guessing some of their work carries a great burden, im grateful for all they do." Chester wasn't sure if she was speaking for them all or just Akvan himself. She did not wish for him to feel this way, it was wrong and he didn't deserve it. "If you were them, im glad your not invisible, caz' I wouldn't have gotten the chance to meet you if that was the case." Chester didn't want to make it as if she had not idea who he was, but as he was trying so hard to hide it, she went along with it... For now, there would come a day when she would have to tell him the truth, but ignorant bliss was worth it for now.
This time round Chester really did take a hold of his hand, linking their fingers together when she reached over, she could tell the thoughts were getting to him, and she wanted to offer as much comfort as she could. "This is life, we must accept it, and do all we can to live it right. There is no reason to wish we were invisible, because what would the point of our existence be in the first place if that was the case?" Chester gave Akvan a warm smile and squeezed his hand in a comforting manner, hoping that her point got across to him.

"Is it though?" Akvan answered back, he felt kind of foul for talking back in such a way. Chester had basically complemented Akvan. "Sorry, i-it's just, the ones that kill. Are they really doing something hard and burdening? Surely killing is an easy escape, easy and simple yet so cruel." Akvan lifted a lip, it was a strange and difficult subject, especially coming from one who was in the process of being taught what was right and wrong from very different people. "If you were them, I'm glad your not invisible, caz' I wouldn't have gotten the chance to meet you if that was the case." Akvan felt blood rush to his cheeks again, a proper smile on his face. This girl truly was too kind to around him. Perhaps he could just thank her and run away now. Her wound was covered, but even inhaling the air near Akvan could conflict illness on someone. Chester could surly smell the rotting stink in the air around the Demon, unless she was simply being nice. Akvan went very ridged with the next feeling. This time, he was actually touched, a hand locking into his. The feeling rolled up his arm like a wave. Holding his hand? Not even Gensho or Onrah had done that before. But, even though his mind was screaming that this was too close and Chester could get hurt, Akvan didn't want the feeling to go away. It was nice, warm. Akvan slowly began to fold his fingers into the hold as well, smiling as he tried to awkwardly avoid Chester's gaze.
"This is life, we must accept it, and do all we can to live it right. There is no reason to wish we were invisible, because what would the point of our existence be in the first place if that was the case?" Akvan silently nodded, the warm feeling returning when his hand was squeezed. "You are too kind to me Chester... I don't deserve that." Akvan managed to say, smiling slightly to the woman by his side.

"Of course, the ones that kill.. They do the hardest work, they kill and with it they are bringing the hope of new life, a new beginning, but as they grant that... They live on, having to bare with that and never having it for themselves. Them dealing with that burden... Is the reason why im so grateful to them." Chester hoped to make Akvan see that what he did, was truly amazing, sure he killed, but it was easy to tell he didn't like doing so, and shouldered that burden instead of giving it to someone else...
"You are too kind to me Chester... I don't deserve that." Chester couldn't stop the blush that made her way onto her cheeks, especially after he linked his fingers back as well, and gave her such a lovely smile. She felt something stir within her, but ignored it and gave a huge grin back before stopping and looking at Akvan. "Don't deserve..? Akvan, you happen to be the most wonderful person I have ever met and I've barely gotten to know you... And yet, you deserve all the kindness in the world." It was easy to forget who Akvan really was, and why she should really be avoiding him... By becoming friends, Itami had a leverage over him, and a way to use Chester in her plans... But she didn't care for any of that, Chester for the first time in her life felt a warmth that her family could never provide... And call her selfish but she didn't want that feeling to go away.

Chester spoke as if she'd got it all directly from Onrah. Her words echoed what the older brother taught Akvan the other day. The God felt like thanking Chester for the faith and compliment, but that would to be giving himself away, which Akvan was still pointlessly trying to keep hidden. Chester made Akvan feel good, and in a strange way. Although what she said was nearly the same as Onrah's pep talk, from her lips, it sounded better. Like Akvan could actually follow the kind words from Chester for once, instead of letting his self-loathing take over. "Don't deserve..? Akvan, you happen to be the most wonderful person I have ever met and I've barely gotten to know you... And yet, you deserve all the kindness in the world." He didn't feel like the world owed him anything, and Akvan didn't feel like he deserved much from it either. But Chester did make a kind point, if Akvan was reluctant to believe it like the other words. Wonderful, that was another word Akvan hadn't heard before. He was tolerable, quiet, humble, somewhat helpful, but never wonderful.
"Wonderful, that sounds like it should be aimed at you. You're probably the kindest Human I've come to know." Akvan admitted, hoping it didn't give anything away. To be honest, Chester was the first Human the Demon had properly talked to, let alone found the kindest. Most Humans outwardly avoided contact with the smelly, disease-ridden God, let alone talk or even go near him. Akvan breathed deep, walking with his head staring down at his shoes. He looked up once they'd reached a clearer patch of the forest. Akvan looked around hopefully, before his shoulders dropped. No sword to be found, or any dead person with it embedded in them. Then Akvan felt a sparkle hit his eyes. Squinting forwards, Akvan looked towards the small mountainous area just north of the forest. There, for certain, he could see something shiny reflect the Sun's light. Akvan pointed with his free hand, "Well, there's our target." He stated, glancing to Chester for her opinion.

Chester wasn't exactly sure what to reply back, and instead just let her face turn bright red from the compliment, her family, though they gave her compliments, never gave one like that, and she wasn't entirely sure what to do back. She ended up burying her head into Akvan's shoulder, in a hope to hide her blush, but it made her more red in the face when she realised all she wanted to do was wrap her arms around him. Chester moved her sight to where Akvan was pointing, squinting she could barely make out what he was pointing to, but trusted him anyway, even if she wasn't a huge fan of the walk they were about to encounter. "If we walk to the next open area in the direction we are currently going, there is virtually a direct path to out target, the mountains hold valuable resources for the people of Rycora, and its much easier if we follow the routes." Chester wasn't joking when she said she knew the forest, growing up there she had to learn how to get to where, and how to find her way if she got lost. "Oh and I'm sure your sword is safe, very few actually head to that area of the mountains, but regardless, do you want me to beat up your friends for misplacing it in the first place?"
