The noise that came out of Akvan when Chester decided to lean on him was like the mix of a squeaking rabbit and hooting owl. Whatever unnatural noise it was, it made Akvan hot red in color, and his skin was like it was pickled. Luckily, his noticing of the sword made Chester look away, which allowed Akvan to compose himself. He might melt before the end of this expedition. It would be so simple just to fly them both over there, if Akvan wasn't still ill-bent on living through this friendship as a Human, and not a God. Akvan sighed, "Well, you know your maps better than I do, following paths sounds better than a hike." Akvan smiled, walking a little fast to try and burn off the hot embarrassment on his cheeks. "Oh and I'm sure your sword is safe, very few actually head to that area of the mountains, but regardless, do you want me to beat up your friends for misplacing it in the first place?" Akvan made a proper laugh, smiling honestly. "That sounds like a plan," He answered with a grin, "I was thinking of trapping the drunk fools in a room with their clothes burnt to ashes... And then you can beat them up." Akvan had many ideas for revenge on the idiot brother, so maybe having Chester as his partner in crime might help bring these payback pranks to life.

Chester could help but laugh... Though she attempted to cover it up, she never like it, as it sounded more like a snort than anything else. She began to think of payback herself, but Akvan's plan sounded good, and she could imagine their reactions to it, though she had a plan herself. "How about you tie them to a tree instead, and dangle their clothes just out or reach... Leaving some unlucky person to find them like it." Chester couldn't help but come up with idea after idea. She never had proper friends before, or outside her Outlaw family, so being able to do such a thing meant more to her than anybody would ever know. Taking a few more steps, Chester began to realise if she was to complete the journey to the mountain, she would need to remove her heels. "Hold on one second." Leaning on Akvan's shoulder, she bent down and allowed her now bear feet to touch the ground... "You could always leave them in the middle of nowhere with nothing but woman's clothing, especially heels, walking in a place like this with them would make them apologise to you for the rest of your life... Come on the path is just a little more this way." Making sure her hold on Akvan was tight, she gently pulled him towards the pathway.

Chester didn't sound like a girl to mess with. Akvan would definitely have to introduce her to the others at some point, maybe Gensho because he loved to meet new people so much, and had a lot more free time than their older brother. "Remind me never to get on your bad side," Akvan said with a smile, "but I must introduce you to my twin brother some time, Gensho should be a fun victim for these plans." Akvan stopped as the lady removed her heels, he glanced around before watching her. Offering her his shoes seemed like a gentlemanly thing to do, but walking around wearing rotten fish as footwear was probably cleaner than borrowing the God of Disease's shoes. Akvan looked up to Chester's eyes, "You sure you're OK walking like that?" He asked with a little concern. They'd be walking on stones after all, the mortal enemy of bare feet. Akvan thought over the idea of the heels, it sounded good, but there was one problem. "The heels would work for my older brother, but Gensho already has a collection of his own heels that he wears on 'fancy party' occasions. Some of them go too far up the leg for us to be comfortable with." Akvan smiled when he thought of what Gensho would do if the sword was replaced with a pair of his precious shoes. The God of Night would probably break down beyond repair. That sounded like good enough payback in its own right. Letting Chester lead the way, Akvan simply remained quiet, smiling for probably the longest period of time in his entire life. Being with this girl seemed to blur away most of Akvan's troubles, for a time he could forget that he was a curse on this land, and simply live ignorantly. Akvan lifted the hand interlocked with Chester's for a moment, "Hey Chester... I-I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but why are you helping me? I-I know I saved you from the webs, but I'm not... pleasant to be around, the smell, m-my magic. What's keeping you from simply leaving now?"

Chester had to chuckle. Even on her bad side, it wasn't difficult to beat her. Plans was what she was best at, but putting them into play was another matter entirely. She was as dangerous to others as a fish was out of water. "I would love to meet him some day." Chester wasn't kidding either. She was glad to be making friends, though in the back of her mind she realised that doing so with Akvan and the others wasn't really the best plan. She looked down at her feet, they were covered in little scratches from the last few times she walked around bare foot, so it was anything she couldn't handle... Even if it was a little uncomfortable at times. "I'm use to it... May have to rest for a bit later on though."
It took a little think but Chester came up with the perfect plan to get back at them. "You could always find a way to switch round their clothing. Give one the high heels, and the other something normal looking. I know from experience the effect of having to wear something that I wouldn't want to wear on the worst of days." She remembered the time her younger brother decided to switch all her own clothing with really girly dresses. And now her entire family know the effect of doing such a thing, her younger brother was tied to a tree for days.
Chester could tell the question was eating at him, she wasn't entirely sure herself either. The smell didn't effect her, living with the Outlaws and their array of different magic helped with that, nor did his magic. But the though of what Itami and the rest of her dysfunctional family could do was always sitting there in the back of her mind. "I... I feel, safe around you. And honestly the other factors don't matter. I think you are a kind, and friendly person, who... Well, who was dealt a not so pleasant gift, but still, im not going to leave you for that... I would have done if you turned out quite mean... But your not... So your kind of stuck with me."

Gensho would be thrilled to meet a friend, especially one Akvan had made, and not one Gensho had forced upon his brother. If anything, it might prove to Gensho that Akvan could take care of himself. Which was still far from the truth, but it could spare Akvan some of Gensho and Onrah's pranks for a short while. Akvan smiled and nodded, admiring Chester's hardy nature. He wouldn't be prepared to walk around bare foot, of course most Demons wouldn't. They grew up on a floating realm covered in magma and hot steam, so foot protection was a necessity. Akvan giggled to the next plan Chester had. He'd probably put her in charge if they ever went through with these plans, Akvan himself wasn't great on actually living through his payback ideas.
The Demon looked to the ground as Chester explained why she stuck around. She spoke honestly, but it seemed as though she knew a bit more about Akvan than he'd explained thus far. His gift, for example. Akvan sighed, breaking this little disguise finally. "So, you know I'm a Demon, right?" Akvan finally asked, "And you know what I do? My personality aside, you still wanna stick around knowing what I do?" Akvan felt like he was asking Chester the same question, just in a different context. She'd already explained how she respected the Demon Gods, but Akvan wanted to confirm it. He'd lived his life with every single Human hating his guts, so it was his best intention to make sure the one he'd met so far that didn't loath him wasn't simply keeping up a facade.

Chester did not mean to let that slip. But little harm was truly done, at least she wouldn't be living a total lie with him. Stopping and taking both of Akvan's hands and made sure to be looking into his eyes as she spoke. "I do know. Ive had a different life to others, so I know what im looking out for... But what I say still stands. Ive told you already that I have respect for the Demons with your kind of job... And im guessing yours is one of the hardest... But honestly I don't care about any of that... Its truly the personality I look for in anyone really, regardless on what they do. And hey, smile a bit more okay? I don't like seeing my friends upset for any reason... Oh and don't think we are flying to your sword... We are still walking there so I can steal you away for a bit longer." Chester gave him the biggest grin she could muster up, and wrapped her arms around Akvan, she wanted him to know she was being honest with what she said. She no longer cared for what anyone would think if she became friends with him, all she cared for was the Demon standing in front of her.

Akvan was relieved to know things weren't any different if he was titled Human or Demon. Chester's words actually moved him, and Akvan was a hard rock to move. He tried smiling, face shivering as the Demon God wanted to just break down in happy tears. Who was this person? How was Akvan so lucky to have met someone so understanding and forgiving as to ignore the God's foul past and present like this? The hug was something new, Akvan felt like melting at all this contact, but instead he carefully returned the embrace back. Breathing steadier, Akvan felt a moment he'd not felt since becoming a God. For once, he didn't feel the presence of the sickly disease magic that usually followed him. The Demon glanced at his arms whilst still being hugged. They were clean, not a trace of the passive magic on them. Could it be that all Akvan needed to control his magic was hope, something to balance the despair in his heart? Akvan smiled slightly, letting the shadow magic fade to reveal his wings and tail that he'd hidden earlier. The leather wings dropped when Chester refused the chance for a ride, but it made Akvan smile still. "Fine, but if it gets too rough up in the mountain, you're getting a ride." He replied. Akvan felt warmer coming out of the embrace, and he made a deep sigh when he looked away. "And... Thank you, again." Akvan said, trying to smile again for his friend. Akvan picked up his wings, tail brushing the ground as he began walking again. The Demon God reached back for Chester's hand again instinctively, before setting off at their previous pace.

Chester didn't even bother to hide the blush when he hugged back, it was nice, and she felt warm, and safe in his arms, like nothing else existed. It was difficult to hide her disappointment when he moved away, and carried on walking, but when he grabbed for her hand again, she was the happiest person in the world. And her smile and slight skip probably showed it. "No need to thank me, im happy to help whenever you need it." Chester couldn't help but thing that even if he ended up giving her a lift when in the mountains... It wouldn't be too bad, it gave her an excuse to hug him again. "So then my dear friend, how shall we occupy our walk?"

Akvan's smile remained on his face as he walked, it felt so relieving to feel not so hated. Even it he only had proof of one person not hating him, this particular person made Akvan feel so much better. The Demon nodded to Chester, she would be a friend he'd remember, one not born of Demon blood or fellow God. But a Human, someone whose opinion mattered the most to the Demon God. Chester asked what they could do as they walked, and the Demon thought. From looking, they had around ten minutes before the road got harder, so conversation would suffice. "You can ask me about it is you'd like. My job, my fellow Demon friends... I want to get used to talking about it, rather than seeing it as something to condemn." Akvan felt it would be best to tell Chester anything she wanted to know about Demon life. She seemed to know quite a bit, perhaps she had been interested in Demon culture. Which meant it would make a nice repayment to let Chester know whatever she wanted to know, if it interested her.

Chester mulled over the answer... There was lots she already knew, and she didn't want to ask a question that may give Itami an edge over Akvan if she ever found out the truth. And yet she was intrigued about all aspects of his life, his inner most thoughts and feelings, she wanted to know so that she could help with anything he felt was a burden. "Let me know about these friends of yours first. I would already love to meet them, but I wish to know more, in case I ever come across them in the future before a formal greeting. Oh, and if you wish to know anything about me as well, don't be afraid to ask." Chester gave him a smile and rested her head on his shoulder, waiting to hear more. It was easy to forget everything, and just live in the moment. A luxury she didn't allow herself often.

Akvan hummed, thinking over what he could explain about his two brothers. "Well there's Gensho. He's, ummm.... Well, I'm not entire sure what words can sum up Gensho, let's just say he makes friends very quickly, and you'll never forget him either. Onrah is like an older brother to all of the Gods. He's second in charge of our entire race, and looks out for all of us when Mo can't. And yet, through all of his duties and hardships he has to bare as God of Death, Onrah seems to find the time to spare just for me and Gensho. He calls us his little brothers, not just because that how he addresses most, but because that's what he views us as." Akvan smiled as he remembered the kindness of Onrah, most recently when he managed to help Akvan, offer a hand as guidance through his tough job. "Big brother doesn't see anyone as being below him, he'd actually see everyone above himself, caring so much for others that it's easy for him to forget about himself. He almost lost his eyesight helping people deal with death, the only reason he didn't was because he gained control over his magic. There isn't anyone in any realm Onrah hates, so he'll be easy to get along with... they both will."
The God for once felt so much gratitude for his brothers. They were, before Chester, the only supports keeping Akvan alive. Akvan thought of anything else he could add. "S-she's not really a friend, but I view Itami, the Goddess of Sin, as a sister. She can be a little mean, and I feel like some of the times she views me like some sort of prize or chew toy, but she's also been really nice. Recently, she even offered to help me control my magic better, i-it seems to be working too, since I haven't hurt you yet." Akvan admitted, hoping he didn't scare Chester by the idea that by any luck she could become ill by being around for too long.

Chester smiled as he spoke, it was nice to see him smile when talking about his family or friends. "Both Onrah and Gensho seem really nice, as I've said, I would love to meet them some day. Perhaps you can introduce me soon?" She really wanted to meet the two who had such an impact on his life, and who he thinks so highly of. But when he mentioned Itami, Chester didn't know what to think... She couldn't very well say she didn't agree, as that would warrant too much suspicion, but at the same time, she KNEW Itami, and how she's just manipulating him, and using him and... Oh, it was all too confusing right now for her. "Itami seems... Nice. And no need to worry about me... I have a high tolerance to infections anyways, part of always getting injured when exploring the forest... Or fighting spiders." She seriously had no need to worry about getting ill or infected, both living with the Outlaws and living in Rycora has allowed that. She hoped that the explanation though was enough to steer her away from the reply about Itami... She seriously did hate that woman.

"Well Gensho isn't a hard guy to find, all you got to do is wait until night and compliment the night sky in some way, that usually sends him running." Akvan responded, smiling as he felt more and more comfortable talking. "Onrah turns up when he wants to, and it's impossible to find him unless he wants to be found. His job takes him all over the world, so it's really hard to keep track of him." Basically put, Onrah was like a shy woodland creature. You had to let him come to you, going after Onrah never ended successfully, since the God of Death was always on the move. Akvan scoffed, "Yeah, sister is nice... it's a rare thing to say, no matter all of the kind things she does, I can't bring myself to trust her properly... maybe that's just Shinda talking." Akvan clicked a finger when he realized he'd not introduced Chester to his split personality, and by introducing he meant warning her. "Oh, something I forgot to say... when I, umm, get really emotional, or upset, this different side of me comes out. Apparently when I was reborn, I grew up with no similarity to the personality I had when I was human. The only time that personality comes up is when I'm at the point of giving up. I-It has a name too, Shinda. He's not the nicest guy to be around, apparently I was nothing but violent when I was human, and killing and fighting is all Shinda cares about. I guess I'm grateful to him, having him take over all fights means I don't have to feel the responsibility, although I have loose control over what he does. I'm Akvan more than I am Shinda, but he's the stronger one, I think even Itami fears what could happen if he gained complete control." Shinda really was Akvan at his full strength, wielding magic and power that Akvan didn't even know he possessed. The only thing holding back the blood-thirsty split person in Akvan was his conscience, if that was gone then the world would be at the God's mercy for sure. Akvan half-smiled, he knew what an odd subject this must be for Chester to follow. "But I won't let that happen, as long as I have some hope left." Akvan stated, although he wasn't confident in it. Truth was, part of the reason he kept away from others was that if he lost them, it would break Akvan. And then there would be no control over his violent side, and Shinda's awakening would be catastrophic.

Chester smiled when listening to Akvan speak, he seemed more confident now with what he was saying. Realising that she would have to be introduced to Onrah, Chester decided she wasn't entirely against the idea. It meant that she would have to see Akvan again, and in a way it made it easier to 'bare' knowing that if she accidentally slipped any information to Itami things would not be just her wanting to see him. Which meant a higher chance of her being able to protect him, if things came to the worse. Chester scoffed when Akvan agreed that Itami was nice... That was far from the truth, she was a manipulative, cruel witch that belonged in the deepest depths of hell itself. But she couldn't tell him that it would give too much away. Though she was glad he couldn't fully trust the woman, it gave her hope he would see past the disguise.
Chester would be lying if the thought of Shinda didn't scare her, especially if Itami was afraid... But she was willing to accept Akvan for who he was, and vowed to do all in her power to make sure the other never came into play. "Don't worry, I trust you. I know you would never hurt me intentionally if he ever did come out when im around. And hey, your strong, I know you can be the better Demon. You need to have more confidence in your ability, you do so well considering what you've told me." And it was the truth, she trusted Akvan with her life. She just wished she could be honest back.

Shinda scared everyone, someone so violent and one minded that it was impossible to reason with his need to kill. He had the mind of an original Demon, ones that were born from the burning earth only to destroy. Akvan was terrified of Shinda, because in the end, the blood would be on his hands either way. Chester's confidence however was nice, and Akvan knew so long as he kept those kind of words in his mind, Shinda wouldn't be allowed to take over. When the darker side came out when fighting Itami, Akvan was still in deep despair. He hated himself at that time. But since then, Akvan had been educated by Onrah, been made to understand that at least one Human out there trusted him.
Akvan smiled, looking up to the mountains nearby. "Maybe I am. I want to control my powers, but my powers are the things holding me back." Akvan admitted his dilemma. Killing people without knowing wasn't something Akvan wanted to do, he wanted to know exactly who he infected and how and if they'd live or not. Right now, all he could do was watch and observe as people died around him, not knowing what he'd done to hurt them, but knowing it was all of his fault. Akvan smiled, he could get over it though, with the help of those three who meant something to him. He heard a river up ahead, a typical feature at the bottom of a mountain. The Demon glanced to Chester. "I can't touch it, it would pollute the water, so you want a lift over?" Akvan asked.
