Akvan was used to things in this village now. The occupants were all young kids, but they were surprisingly organised with daily activities. Hunting, preparing meals, training, it was all routine for them here. And, whilst it made Akvan a little proud of his children, he also so the hidden truth to the scheduled life. They were all avoiding their 'duty'. Their daily activities never changed, Void never planned to take them out to destroy things, he just continued the same cycle. They'd continue this forever if they had to, never doing what the Sun Goddess told them. And, thinking about it like that, made Akvan even more proud of them. And after the father himself had gotten used to the routine around here, he'd planned the perfect times to avoid Chester as much as possible, 'accidentally' being elsewhere when she was around to help in the lessons or hunting. She had the ring back, but after giving Akvan permission to roam he wasn't tethered to it anymore. Freedom, more opportunities to ignore his wife and wielder.
Akvan found himself exploring all the empty homes, the ones not yet rebuilt because they weren't needed. The ruined homes provided Akvan a peaceful afternoon alone, which was what he needed. It had been raining recently, today was the first day in a week that it was dry and light. So the sun weapon easily found a large puddle, good enough to reflect his image in it. Akvan looked towards himself, then down to a knife around his belt. He drew it, holding it in his hand whilst moving his arm to lift up his fringe. It uncovered one of the worded scars, the one reading 'Broken' on Akvan's forehead. Silently, he moved the knife, and drew it across his head, slicing through the words. Blood poured down, soaking into Akvan's hair a little. But, after a few seconds, there was a hissing sound, and the cut to his forehead healed rapidly. But, it didn't scar, the skin repaired itself completely to Akvan's previous appearance. He huffed at the results, to the scar still left untouched and very clear. He couldn't even do himself the smallest favour anymore, how typical. He let his fringe drop back down, cleaning off the blood and carried on walking, emotionless as usual.

Eira didn't mind staying in the village so much anymore, she had seen some of the world, and while one day she will go back out there and discover more, for now she was happy enough to just stay here with her family. Well, she would be if not for the things she's discovered. Father had all but been avoiding mother to the point where mother wasn't taking it well... Or less then well, and while she put on a brave face around everyone, Eira knew mother was hurting, and in the shadows she often saw mother break away and hurt herself in punishment, and just last week Eira had to intervene when it almost became too much, and mother did something stupid. She had seen this go on ever since they met up the first time, and while she didn't know exactly what went down, Eira knew the root of the problem was father, all too emotionless to mother who clearly loved him more then anything. And she decided that she needed to get to the bottom of this, before she lost mother once more. So following father one day, and watching as he cut into his head and it heal, Eira had more of a understanding what was happening, but hated the reason why. Standing next to her father, Eira gave a sigh, she didn't want to be horrible to him, but she wouldn't hold back the truth either. "You know when I dreamed of finding my mother and father, I expected two people so in love that they wouldn't ever be apart, I never expected my father to be avoiding mother like she was nothing... Nor did I expect to watch my mother harm herself and try to end her life in punishment for something she did..." Eira felt tears pour down her face as she thought back to that day, feeling the emotions run through mother and having to use her power to calm mother down enough to stop trying... She got her to Yasmin soon enough, under the disguise of a hunting accident, but Eira couldn't forget the real reason. "What happened between you and mother before us, that makes you hate her so?"

Akvan thought about the cut. It didn't even hurt to slice across his head anymore. The pain was there, but laughable compared to what Akvan had experienced in the past. It made him notice how similar he and Draiko really were, they couldn't feel pain anymore, and had such a low opinion on the things around them. Perhaps that was what made Akvan clash heads with his son so often, arguing with the kid about his attitude whilst Draiko complained and challenged Akvan over his. Fortunately those occasions were rare, Draiko exploring too often to dig into Akvan's skin. He loved Draiko for his fighting spirit, and occasional moments of loyalty to the group, but the kid really did annoy Akvan. It was bitterly amusing to think that since Draiko was a lot like Akvan, however annoying Draiko's attitude was also meant Akvan's was just as irritating.
The Sun weapon thought on it, in silence, before someone appeared next to him. She spoke, and after a deep breath, Akvan glanced her way. "Eira." He greeted simply, going to smile before it dropped, seeing his daughter crying instead. Akvan sighed, "You are c-confused Eira. I avoid Chester because I am n-nothing. You can see it clear as day, I don't t-truly exist, I am... how Draiko loving put it, just a g-ghost." Akvan replied. He didn't respond to the Chester harming herself thing. Because Akvan would be a hypocrite to judge. But then again, he did so knowing it wouldn't change anything, Chester... in the Sun weapons opinion, was doing so pointlessly. And to do such things when there were twelve children around caring for her like she was their world, was even more selfish. But, Akvan wouldn't voice that part of his opinion, yet. Eira deserved to know, just like all the others, and for the sake of making sure Eira knew fully how her father felt, Akvan wasn't going to hold back. He paused after her question, before glancing up to the sky. "B-because your mother i-is a stubborn f-fool." Akvan replied, "Over and o-over again she w-would tell me that if I ever d-died, she would join me. Like it was g-going to happen, we were s-so close and s-so in love that if one died, the other would j-join and be with them. It sounds like a-a beautiful love s-story. Yet... I didn't th-think your mother w-would be s-so desperate t-to be with me, that if she couldn't d-die because it meant l-leaving all our other loved ones b-behind, she'd bring me back to life." Akvan stopped, chuckling dryly, stopping himself from tearing up. "E-explain to me how I'm s-suppose to think it is fair: If I left this w-world, she would join and be w-with me. But... because of th-this... this immortal w-weapon she's turned me into, if... when s-she eventually leaves, I'll n-never get to join her."
"She t-took the powers of life a-and death into her own hands, a p-power no one should have a right to control. The one w-who was the closest t-to having that power, w-would never manipulate it, and he t-trusted us all to feel the same. And y-yet even after betraying th-that trust, she e-expects things t-to still turn out perfect."

Eira looked to her father a frown on her face at how he perceived himself.... This nothing but lies to what he was, what he is in her eyes. "I do not see a ghost, and Draiko has a way to find words that will hurt his victim the most when he cant fight them... But not the point, the point is, I see my father, a man who has been through so much that the soul he must of had would be battered and bruised and weak... But I know it would have glowed stronger then them all because he's survived it... Its just like mothers, and have you never noticed how it glows the most when around you? The man she so obviously loves with all her heart?" Eira wanted father to understand everything she had come to see, not ask for, but she knew her parents enough to know both were stubborn with their views, and a few words wouldn't be so easy to change his view. Her gaze dropped at hearing the truth, not really surprised after all she had learnt, though there was a little surprise on how angry father was, seeing as life and death was the only things that were played with as a sun child. "Mother will always be in your heart when she goes, and you now will have us... How do you think mother felt in losing you again, just to find there was a way to change that? Do you believe she was thinking clearly beyond, please come home? And life and death, okay, she played with it... But that's the point of our existence remember? The calling to destroy the world as the goddess in the sky wants? But the drive to ignore it and live... Isn't that the same thing, but with everyone? This same man probably never realised what power lied beyond the normal, and never knew its potential. So yes, mother wants things back to how they once were, because she loves you, that's all she's thinking about, blinded by it, from what you may feel... Shouldn't that be enough to understand why?" It was a valid bunch of questions, seeing how Eira knew the split between her siblings ran deep with the idea of destroying this world, and how that alone was playing with life and death... Just like all do.

Once he was sure Eira would just follow by his side, Akvan turned, heading out of the village rather than deeper into it. He rather go an talk in a quieter spot, there was one in mind at the edge of town, one that looked towards a lush green oasis. He kept his ears open though, as Eira spoke. The father stopped himself laughing bitterly. Battered, bruised and weak was an understatement to the state he'd been left in after all that had happened in his mortal life. But Akvan knew Eira was trying her best to comfort him, and it did to an extent. He chose to ignore the part about Chester though. Because of course Akvan noticed, he'd continued to notice every single day since marrying her. But Eira wasn't done yet, as Akvan came to a stop, sitting on the short stone wall around the village just looking out over the oasis, he gave his daughter a slight frown. After she'd finished, the man chuckled a little. "I-it's hard to believe that I'm b-being schooled by a th-three year old right now." He muttered, patting the wall next to him for Eira to sit. Akvan took a deep sigh, "Would it h-help if I told you that I still l-love your mother? Because of c-course I love her, she's always had a w-way of wriggling into m-my mind, has done f-from the moment w-we met." Akvan began. "But..." He started, giving Eira more of a sincere smile, though it curved more in a sad way than a happy way, "It's b-because I love her s-so much that what s-she's done hurts s-so much. And... she's not even s-shown regret f-for doing it yet. I know y-you want a h-happy family Eira, and I'd g-give you that if I could. But... I j-just can't look y-your mother in the e-eye right now. Not until s-she learns. Like the Sun Goddess, a-anyone can make mistakes, n-no one is perfect. And your mother w-was certainly w-wrong in what she did. Perhaps it w-was desperation, w-whatever the excuse, it was still w-wrong. And I w-want.. I n-need her to understand how w-wrong it was, before I can r-really trust those eyes of hers again." He stopped to take a breath, and as he did, Akvan opened his arm out, offering his daughter some comfort. He did hold regret that things weren't all perfect for Eira, and all the children's sakes, but in terms of the bond their parents had, he couldn't do anything to fix it right now. "I'm sorry Eira. This... this i-isn't the kind of w-world I wanted t-to bring you into, and... believe me I fought h-hard to make the w-world better for my f-future kids. B-but don't let the situation between y-your mother and I make you think I-I don't love you all. Because I d-do, and that love will last f-forever, alright?"

Eira sat happily next to her father, leaning her head upon his shoulder and just listening. She understood what he meant, why he wasn't happy with mother right now, but Eira knew it wasn't that simple, she could see it, even if the others couldn't. But it was enough knowing Father still loved Mother, it meant there was hope, and that maybe one day Mother herself would understand what she did was in good intentions, but not looked into. Snuggling into her Fathers side as he opened his arm, feeling a different kind of safe from that of her siblings protection, Eira let him finish speaking before saying her piece. "I never doubted your love for us. And in return never doubt our love for you... Some may not show it well, like Draiko, but we do. The only ones you need to worry for in truth is Hebi and Meinu, I swear they are driven by the power to destroy rather then family, so its nothing that is your fault. As for Mother. I know she loves you, and that's why she couldn't let you go. I don't think she regrets her choice to save you, but I think she regrets not asking you first or finding another alternative, but again, I think she was driven by desperation as to bring you back." It was tough, and Eira didn't want to pick a side, but she knew more then anything that while Father held good points and she agreed with him, Mother had her own reasons, that were just as good. "The world is cruel, but its living, and its beautiful... Its the people in it that make everything perfect, and we shouldn't take them for granted, because who knows when we will lose them." Cold hard truth, but that's exactly what it was.

She might have grown fast but Eira was still small, easy to wrap his arm around. She was also so young, appearance might deceive but Akvan wasn't going to be fooled. Eira was still so young to his eye, new to the world and inexperienced. That wasn't to say she wasn't smart, because the girl had intelligence and some wisdom, enough to make her father proud, but Akvan wasn't going to see her any older than she truly was. And because of that, he felt a determination to help her see as much of the world as possible. Seeing how they were, for all of these years, just hiding in this one village, Akvan felt like they all deserved to see a little more of the world. Because whilst this little oasis was nice, there was a lot more beauty in the world for the children to see. Akvan chuckled a little, "Draiko is a g-good kid. Just... s-stubborn, though I s-suppose that runs in our b-blood." Akvan replied, "And your b-brother and sister just n-need to be taught s-some other than what the Sun goddess t-told them. G-give it time, they might learn on th-their own. But Eira, don't h-hesitate to t-tell me anything i-if you're worried a-about them, or any of the others." Akvan half-smiled, thinking on what Eira said. About the world being cruel and beautiful. She was right, but her only experience of the world had been recently, in visiting Minato. He wonder, would this sweet natured girl continue to think the same in the future, if she was put through the kind of life Akvan had received. His hand shook a little as Akvan resisted the urge to clench it. He swore he'd never let her see that kind of life, he wanted Eira to stay this way, optimistic, and naive of the real world. He'd not responded for a while, just staring forwards in silence, before an idea formed in Akvan's head, and words from his mouth. "I-I was thinking. While the v-village is nice, it's n-no Aura, or D-dranar... In fact th-there's plenty of very extraordinary places out in th-this living world still to see, if y-you're still curious... I c-can see a... Sun child e-expedition coming along." Akvan suggested with a smile, one eye watching his daughters change in expression.

Stubbornness did run in the family, as all had their moments, Eira had hers with the need to leave, Draiko was all the time, Meinu's was well, hard to explain, but they must have gotten it from somewhere, and despite it all, they showed they cared through it. And Eira always worried for her brother and sister, both lovely but with that gleam in their eyes, Eira knew influence from the sun goddess was stronger in them... And now with Meinu missing, who knows what might happen. But Eira didn't mention this just yet, she would trust in her family for now. "I wont, not when I really feel something in the pit of my stomach... Void has told me the same, always the big older brother, I just have to say, try and talk him into being a kid for a bit, try and take away the urge to protect us for a day, he has earn it." Eira knew her brother was a child, and did act like it, but there was always something there stopping him from just forgetting, and she wanted that for him if only for a day. Eira was happy to just cuddle up to her father in the quiet... But when it was broken, Eira's eyes lit up, as well as her smile as she squeezed her father tight and gave out a squeal. "Are you being serious? We can go out and explore? See the world? All of us? Not just a few area but them all? Really? THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!" Eira couldn't control her excitement, buzzing in place... If father was saying it, then the others might come, and Eira can show them how wonderful everything is and why she wanted to get away...

Goddess sometimes Akvan wished others would talk to him more. He was a good listener, had to be to put up all those younger years around his brothers. Recently he'd noticed a lack in it, perhaps his own fault. Being busy fighting solo in a war, then dying, then refusing to be at all social with certain others around him, meant Akvan didn't get to listen much. But he enjoyed it, encouraged it, especially in his kids. The more Eira spoke about how she felt the better, the more Akvan could do to help her, he hoped he could help the children grow comfortable in this world, from someone with an experience in their sort of existence. Akvan chuckled when Eira mentioned Void, and chuckled louder at her request to make the eldest feel less adult. "What Void? He might b-be the oldest but from what I've s-seen, he acts like th-the youngest... But, I can see in those e-eyes of his how scared he is of the w-world, more specifically, what the w-world could do t-to all of you." Akvan leaned his head closer to Eira's. "But, I understand what you m-mean. I'll try to get him t-to loosen up a bit... I-I think your Aunt, Nanari m-might be able to help with that." He added. The excitement was contagious, Akvan grinning as he heard Eira's squeal, the thrill to her voice. "Of course! A-anyone who wants to come, I'll m-make sure you'll all get t-to see the best sights... And perhaps s-spend some days at my old home." Akvan suggested, thinking of the Mun clan. Rebuild thanks to the Human King, and refilled with all it's members, leadership currently in limbo as no one could decide on a good replacement for Zuura yet. But it was almost back to it's former glory. Akvan smirked a little, "Ever heard your f-father sing before? Because back in my o-old home I was... a b-bit of a performer." Oh how Akvan prayed that all the damage he'd taken to his throat hadn't killed his singing voice, for the sake of this moment.

Eira did have to admit that Void acted the youngest, but as he said, there was a fear in his eyes that stopped him from actually acting like a kid, and Eira wanted it for him if only for a day, so that for once since they all awoke, it was another looking out for them. And she was sure Father was right about Aunt Nanari, especially Void and his obsession with Grey Thing... "I'm sure if we leave him with the Fuzzy Balls called Animal'... Wait... Nanari's our Aunt?" This was not something Eira knew, though they spoke about her a lot... It was a nice thought actually, and knowing that this was the one who helped her before, it meant no sudden revelations for her suddenly having more family. Eira wanted to go now, see everything, and always leapt off the seat as to drag him back to the village and announce it... But she did enjoy this moment alone with her Father, it didn't happen often, if ever in the days he had been here. Eira gave her Father a look before smiling and shaking her head. She hadn't heard him sing, but Mother would often go on about how good he was, and how she was still trying to work out if she liked his singing or Uncle Ru's better. "Mind letting me hear now?"

Note: Song is first verse of this songAkvan nodded. "She is... not r-really by blood. But she took care of me a l-long time ago, when I was w-weak. And since then I've c-considered her a sister. Ch... y-your mother does too, b-because Nanari is related to your mother's b-brother, the Demon King Rurushu, who a-adopted her." Akvan explained, before chuckling a little. "It's all one b-big family really.. made e-even bigger by all of you." He added, hand brushing part of Eira's long hair. He sighed when she asked for an example, and Akvan prayed again that he could still sing. He quickly recalled a verse from one of the songs he'd made for the clan, one sung during hard times to bring spirits up. He cleared his throat, removing himself from the hug to focus, and begun to sing whilst looking forward. "Lay down Your sweet and weary head Night is falling You’ve come to journey's end Sleep now And dream of the ones who came before They are calling From across the distant shore."Just one verse, as Akvan was a little rusty on the words. But, his voice did still work, which made the man smile a little to himself. Seems fate wasn't being completely harsh on him. He looked for Eira's reaction, before taking a few breaths, "It's much better when I h-have music playing. I c-can play a bit of v-violin as well.." Akvan's shoulders dropped, an almost amusing pout on his face, "Well... I used t-to be able to p-play violin." He said, rubbing his right shoulder, where it cleanly ended with no arm to follow anymore.

Eira didn't really care for the technicalities of the fact she was their Aunt, even if not by actual blood, she would still be considered it, and after speaking to her for a while, having been helped and taught, Eira couldn't think of anyone more awesome to have as family. And she knew the others would all love her in their own ways, Nanari was the kind of person you just couldn't hate. "Doesn't matter if not by blood, she is by choice." A hard core fact of the matter, and Eira would never budge on her opinion, no matter what the others say. Eira leant on her father shoulder as he sung, smiling softly, eyes closing at how great he was, now she knew where Draiko got his ability from, even if so far all she has heard is humming. Opening her eyes once Father finished, Eira looked to him with bright eyes and a smile, thoughts racing through her head. "That was amazing, I wish I could sing that well." Eira could sing, but it was average, and nothing special, but she couldn't play an instrument, despite the couple she managed to find around the village, battered and beaten, but working, or so she believes. "You should teach me how to play, so that I can play the music while you sing." Eira hoped Father would.

Other than his children, everyone Akvan considered family were by choice. From his brothers to his sisters, everyone was connected by their choice to be family. It was how things seemed to work now, with the diversity of the three races, with the acceptance of one another without caring for race. That seemed to be the rule Akvan's family followed, and it had been as they'd grown larger. Akvan smiled lightly, believing he should share some of these thoughts with Eira. "Our family i-is a large one, and almost a-all are a part of it by choice. We once c-came together and a-all became family n-not because of b-blood, simply b-because we wanted to. That's what I l-like most about us all, and perhaps y-you'll see it too, when y-you get to meet everyone else... w-we're all so different, but no b-bond differs between us, they're all the s-same." He explained. It made it terribly obvious how the immortal man cared for his family. For those mortal, those who'd die one day. Akvan still loved them all a lot, so much that in time, the pain of losing them would leave him in a dark place indeed. Akvan chuckled to his daughter's compliment, curious to hear her sing. She didn't seem to believe she was very good, which was honestly more of a sign that she could sing. Akvan never thought he was much good until Zuura forced him on stage once and from there it had been history. Akvan was tempted to ask her to, but there was an alternative that made the man gleam a little, eye brightening. "You'd w-want to learn?" He asked, a little surprised, since this was the first time someone had been willing to learn the violin, even his sisters never wanted to. "It's not e-easy, lots of h-hard work... you'd have t-to be very patient a-about it." Akvan warned, though the grin from ear to ear was enough to show how willing he was to teach her.

Eira gave a smile, now knowing exactly why Father being immortal would take its toll on him, and vowed that one day, she too would do whatever needed doing so that she never left him alone, as she know loosing everyone would be the death of him inside. But until then, she would do all in her power to make sure he never felt alone or abandoned, she would fill him with loving memories to replace the bad ones he has endured. "I read once in a book, that families formed by choice, are stronger then those formed by blood, and while I know our bond will be strong, I can hear in your voice the love you hold for your family, and I'm now seeing how that statement is true." Eira had only ever been around her family, so she didn't know of a bond formed by choice as of yet, but hearing her mother and father talk about others, she knew how strong they must be. Smiling to her father, Eira gave an enthusiastic nod before laughing and bouncing on the spot. "Of course I want to learn, I have always wanted to play something ever since finding the couple of battered instruments around here. And I calm people as my magic... I'm like the epitome of patience... I want to learn Father, I just hope I'll be good enough." Eira couldn't wait if Father really was willing to teach her, it would be lovely to spend more time alone with him.

Zuura once said something similar about the clan's bond. The one big family Zuura made them, and when Akvan had joined, he said similar words as Eira's. About bonds of choice being ultimate, possessive in a good way, and obviously... by choice. He'd then gone on a spree about blood and why that was also good, the substance though, not family bond. The memory made Akvan smile, as did Eira's words. He did love them all, people in general, the Sun Weapon had always liked people. Even way back when it was his responsibility to make them sick and suffer, he still saw life, and those who shared it, as something to be loved. He'd ask Eira if she understood why things were so tense between him and her mother, but that had passed, he'd said his piece on that matter, for Eira's sake Akvan was moving passed it. "They've r-remained my family through t-tough times, sometimes when I felt like I d-didn't deserve them. If the only w-way to repay them for t-that is to love them f-forever, then I'll do that." Akvan replied simply, a literal tone to his voice. Akvan smirked a little, Eira believed she was patient, and Akvan believed so too. She was the closest of the siblings to Draiko, to put up with that boy, Eira must be very patient indeed. "A-alright, I'd hold you t-to that, little lady of patience. And I'll t-teach you all I know, sometime you c-can show off to the others." He hugged Eira closer, "You'll be p-perfect, there's a g-grace to you, Eira, that's b-beyond myself or your mother, and I know y-you'll be g-great at learning."
