Clue had seen the situation and taken the thugs on him as far away from Mizetto as he could, provoking others to follow the Wolvine back into Baransu. The city was quite as usual, people too afraid of fights like this breaking out to venture onto the streets. Which meant the large wolf could barrel his way down the street without needing to watch out for others. He heard the men follow behind, making sure their shouts didn't fade away by keeping a slower pace. Once they were well tangled into the thick part of the city, Clue turned around, teeth bared, to check on just how many had followed him. There were seven, the one Clue bit down on first must had collapsed by now from the bleeding from his neck wound. Seven wasn't all that manageable, but Clue knew that. He'd got them away from Mizetto, which was all that mattered. He didn't know their magic, which was a handicap, but it didn't make the Wolvine hesitate before. The closest one got the first bite attack from Clue, the large brown wolf snapping his jaws around the man's leg, turning his strong neck to fling the thug away. One zapped a bolt of lightning at Clue's side, singeing his fur and making the wolf yelp. He snarled towards the culprit, a man to his right, before another of the six standing shot a crossbow bolt into Clue's shoulder. It made him flinch in pain, but Clue's eyes were still set on the one to his right. Injuries meant little to Clue now, in a situation of fighting for his life. So with his yellowing teeth snarling and foam around his dark lips, Clue pounced over the lightening user. They got out one last blast, across Clue's cheek, before his teeth sank down over their whole chest. They cried in pain, as with a sudden crunch, Clue broke through their ribs, shattering bone. One of the others roared at Clue to let go, a bigger man with a heavy punch that connected to Clue's jaw, forcing it to open and release the crushed lightening user. Clue was ready to bit the hand that hit him, before hearing his name over the pack of thugs. Mizetto had found Clue and his opponents, and Clue watched four of the seven turn to fight the Demon that had just torn apart their leader. "Mizetto, run away!"

Mizetto's head was spinning, the moment he tore apart the hunter's leader, then asked his daughters to run, he had no idea what to do next. There were a few Human filths left, watching the bleeding, lifeless body of their leader, then daring to glare towards the Demon. There was also Ari ice-coated body. Which, as Mizetto tried to lift, after cradling her face for a moment, wasn't budging. The thugs around him soon regained their confidence, or perhaps had a new lust for blood after seeing their friend brutally murdered by Mizetto, beginning to crowd the Demon and frozen Angel with weapons ready. But above their threats, Mizetto heard other voices. They called out towards the commotion, and Mizetto recognised at least one voice, as much as it grinded in his ears. The members of the Taiyo clan were approaching, and Mizetto was sure they'd make Ari their top priority, try to move or revive her. Which gave Mizetto his decision, the members couldn't help with these thugs still around, so spitting in the face of one of them, Mizetto weaved his way around Ari, taking in the details of her face once more, as he doubted whether he'd return or not from this, before heading off into Baransu, taking all the hunters with him. He remained in their sights until Mizetto was sure they were far enough from the light clan, before putting up a stone wall between the thugs and himself, hopefully insuring Mizetto's escape. Next he needed to find Clue, who'd done a similar tactic and taken the main bulk of hunters deep into Baransu with him.
Following the found of magic flashes, Mizetto broke into sprinting. He turned a corner and almost crashed into a single by-stander, their existence alone being a surprise during times like this, when man hid inside when fights broke out. Mizetto had knocked them over, making a hood fall back and reveal their golden hair and eyes, terrified eyes. Mizetto could tell they were Human, but didn't have time to care further, leaving the civilian where he'd accidentally knocked them over and continued to run. Eventually Mizetto made it to Clue, in time to see his friend being swarmed by all the magic users. Clue called out, but Mizetto simply glared at all the thugs, quickly noting which ones had weapons and which were using magic. One that Clue had incapacitated, though could still fire his lightening magic, then two that Mizetto saw creeping to the sides in the hopes of flanking the Wolvine. Mizetto thrust one hand forward, fingers flicking as his Earth magic responded to the ground underneath the three he'd targeted. From beneath each of them, the earth caved in, causing all them to sink, those not prone were made so, and once enough of them was covered, Mizetto turned his wrist. The earth then closed up over the top of them, leaving only a small bump on the ground where the three had been. They were now buried alive, either waiting to be dug out by their friends, or struggle hopelessly until they ran out of air. Mizetto didn't care. His attention turned to Clue, and the other thugs who'd stopped momentarily to watch the earth magic user bury three of their comrades. "I'm not goin' anywhere you big ball of fur. Not without my best friend." Mizetto announced over. The words seemed to mean something to Clue, and for a second things seemed a little more hopeful. Then there was a flash of arcane light, it sucked in the air, and all heat around it. Mizetto just saw the stream of bright yellow-ish light flash by his side then disappear, and then he lost all feeling to his right arm. There was a sickly smell of burnt flesh, and then pain hit Mizetto from the right side of his body, causing him to judder forwards and collapse onto his knees. To the side, his confused eyes saw a horror, the charred remains of an arm, his arm.

Clue's hope rose, for a moment he thought of all the other fights he and Mizetto had been in. All of them won because of Mizetto's determination, Clue's strength. They'd been a team for many years, and Mizetto's words inspired Clue to that thought. His tail wagged for a moment, planning to charge through as many thugs to get to his friend to fight together, but Clue was frozen to the spot when he saw a flash of light beam passed, crimson red spluttering into the air behind it. Clue stopped to stare at the now missing limb on his friend's side, and how it caused Mizetto to fall immediately. The thugs didn't stop, one walked over, light glowing in one hand, proving himself as the caster of that brutal attack, and stood on Mizetto's back. "You can get a taste of what our leader went through, Demon." The man said, light humming as he attacked again. Clue charged forward in that moment, blocked for the few seconds necessary to stop the Human by his merry band of thugs. Another flash of light, another arch of blood, and the man had burned off Mizetto's other arm. Seeing life leave his master, his friend, Clue no longer cared for himself. He barrelled into the people blocking him. Thick body meeting the ends of swords and spears, and teeth meeting the necks of those who stood in the wrong place, Eventually Clue struggled through, feet pushing off the ground to lunge at the light bearing man. Clue's vicious teeth sunk down into flesh, feeling a burning sensation in his stomach as the man let out one last beam of light through Clue's chest before the Wolvine's fangs ended his light. Dropping the man, and almost falling on top of Mizetto, Clue tried to steady his focus, feeling warm blood flush out from the deep wound. But he couldn't stop, not whilst staring down at his wounded friend, who'd die painfully by these thug's hands if Clue didn't act. So the wolf forgot his injuries, picking up Mizetto carefully in his jaws and running, avoiding anymore attacks as he rushed away, this time making sure no one could follow him. Clue made it far, to the outskirts of Baransu, across a bridge and to the start of Rycora forest. There the Wolvine stopped running, placing down Mizetto carefully by a tree. He wanted to do so much more to save his friend, but the moment Clue stopped running, he felt no more energy in his legs. Staring at Mizetto for a moment, softly whining and licking his friend's pale face, Clue remembered all the best moment's they'd shared. Such a happy wolf he'd been, having a master, a friend, that respected him as much as Clue adored his friend. Clue finally found a way to thank Mizetto for freeing him, from slavery, and from Clue's own fears. Now he finally had. Clue just hoped someone would help his friend here, Mizetto shouldn't die, not whilst he still longed to have a family to love. They needed the tough, stubborn little Demon in their lives as much as Mizetto sorely needed them. Clue smiled a little, feeling his mind go dizzy. His nose pressed against Mizetto's neck, nuzzling his friend with another quiet whine. Then, Clue's body fell to the side, landing with a loud thump onto the grassy earth as life left the Wolvine's body.
