Notes: Glacie and Terra NPC in this thread!
Glacie and Terra could tell something was up with their father and mother. Mum not having come home in a while, and when she did, they hardly spoke, and things were far too tense. It hurt to see them fight, even if neither were sure what about, and the final straw of it all happened weeks ago when they had a shouting match when they thought the two sisters were asleep. Both were terrified for what would become of their family, and after not seeing their mother for weeks now, and father getting both angry and upset whenever she was mentioned. Both decided it was time they went looking for her themselves. "Terra, I don't think this is a good idea..." Terra gave Glacie a look of annoyance, they were already half way to where they knew their mother would be, even if the exact location was beyond them, and they were doing well staying out of sight of those hunting down the races, even with Glacie often rethinking their choice. "Come on Glacie, mum and dad haven't seen eye to eye recently and I'm sick of them fighting in the rare moments mum comes home. I want my mother back, and to know what's going on.." Glacie knew with the war going on this was the worst time to be doing this, and as much as she hated not seeing her mother often, and her parents fighting, Glacie knew her mother was helping the efforts to stop this, and was causing tensions, and while she didn't know the breaking point of it all, she knew finding out now... Well it gave her a bad feeling. "Terra, I mean...." "Well, look what we have here boys, two little girlies all alone... And they have wings... Bad time to be taking a little field trip." Both Terra's and Glacie's eyes widened in terror, as the leader of the hunters aimed a fire ball at Glacie, while the other three got out their weapons and aimed them at the two. "Don't worry, it will all be over soon..." "GLACIE!"
Ari hated being away, and hated even more the cold and distance stares Mizetto gave her the last two times she made it home, the last time him even going as far to argue over things again, she got few words in, but she knew whatever string that still attached them broke that day, and since then, Ari's head hadn't been in the game, she was upset, and hating herself for all of the stuff she did, the rare moments home, the arguments, ever becoming friends with Gash again because he connected to her past. All of it. She was currently on a supply run to Baransu, the Clan having run out of medical equipment after the mishaps of the Mun Clan, and Ari had volunteered to grab more at the first opportunity, just to get away from Gash. It was dangerous, but she was only meant to be gone for a hour, get in get out. But she didn't expect to round a corner, to hear the frightened shout from her eldest, because she would recognise that voice anywhere. Dropping everything she had, Ari ran in the direction of the voice, time going slower at what she was witnessing... A hunter letting off fire to her youngest, Ari never even hesitated, "GLACIE, TERRA!" as she hurled herself infront of the attack, flying backwards in pain as she burned.

Mizetto growled as he continued to hear the heavy paw-prints follow him. "Go back Clue, you're a crappy guard dog." Mizetto spat, turning to glare at Clue with his burning gold eyes. The Wolvine stopped, putting his hands in his pockets and returning the glare. Gone was that cowardly dog that did as he was told. "No. I'm following you until you turn around and go back yourself, Mizetto." Clue replied. Growling again, Mizetto tried to march faster. He'd tried to get out quietly, not disturb the girls in their room, or Clue who was sitting by their door. He just needed to leave, travel anywhere that wasn't in that house. He didn't want to leave his daughters, they were his soul, but Mizetto couldn't stay. His throat could only take so much crying into the night, and arguing into the day when Ari decided to visit. And when everything in his life seemed to be failing, the Demon was forced to think back to his past. When he'd live off the land, go where he wanted and fight and cause trouble for a living. He'd planned to leave Clue with the girls, to keep them safe and his mind at ease. But not long after leaving, Mizetto spotted the two brown ears following close behind him, and now Clue refused to turn back. "Are you running away?" Clue asked, a question he'd repeated multiple times without an answer. "Yeah... I am." Mizetto finally said, and he heard the paws behind him stop. Mizetto turned again, this time his face creasing into sadness as he saw Clue's expression. He looked hurt, his ears low, eyes wide and watering. "W... why? We have a family Master! You have children, you can't run!" Mizetto's eyes closed tight, and he shook his head violently. "I have to, it's the only way to fix this Clue, I've run out of tricks to get myself out of the trouble I've made, and they're sufferin' from it. The girls... Ari... If I leave, they'll.. get over it. But you, Clue your place is with 'em." Mizetto replied, his throat closing up. Clue whined softly. "I... I'm your Wolvine, you're my.. my master. I go where you go." Clue whimpered. Mizetto shook his head again, "You're free, alright? I'm settin' you free." He replied, and when Clue didn't move, Mizetto sent a small stone towards the dog's feet. "I said you're free! So get lost Clue!" Mizetto repeated, and this time Clue turned to run back. But both of them stopped to look up to the sky with shock at the sound of screams. A young scream, followed by blasts of arcane fire and battle. Mizetto knew some of the voices, and his body froze up. They'd escaped, gone to find their mother whilst their father proved himself so useless at looking after them. When his legs finally started moving, Mizetto ran faster than ever, no time to summon his wings, he just had to drag himself across the ground towards the noise. At some point, heavy footprints galloped behind him, and Mizetto found himself lifted up onto the back of something large. Clue growled aggressively as he raced towards the action, letting Mizetto ride him once more as both had a desperate reason to get there as soon as possible. Mizetto was just drowning in dread, what kind of danger his kids were in, and how it was his fault. He hardly noticed they were heading towards the Taiyo Clan, and where Ari usually was. Mizetto didn't even consider the Angel being there, not until he and Clue cleared the building to spot the others, his family surrounded by hungry hunters. He only noticed Ari, as she defended the girls, unable to get close enough to stop what was to happen next.

Ari was quick to get back up, pain racking every inch of her body as the wound bled out and the fire seemed to intensify. Oh how she hated the heat. Grabbing both her girls, Ari dragged the two behind her, facing the hunters and growling. "Leave my girls alone." Her voice shook from the pain, but remained strong enough to show how serious she was. The leader, the damned fire user just laughed, before producing an even larger and more powerful bolt. "Oh angel bitch, you just doomed you all." Ari didn't have the strength to defend this with her magic, not after the hit she just took, and her efforts in the war, glancing to her girls, both wide eyed and afraid, mumbling and shaking, Ari knew there was only one thing she could do to save them, and without Marzzi here, to apologise to him, to tell him how much she loved him, the very idea was already breaking her heart. Pushing both girls as close together as possible, Ari tightened her voice to show no fear or pain as she addressed two of the most important people in her life. "My beautiful daughters. I love you both so much, I'm sorry I haven't been around much latterly, I wanted to protect you from this war by ending it. I didn't see that I was doing the opposite by being away, I can never make up for that mistake, but I hope one day you will forgive me.... And I need you both to do something, tell grandpa Takeo that I'm sorry, Okashi to make sure he does nothing stupid. Tell fluffy that he has always been free as part of this family... And tell daddy that I'm so sorry for everything, and that I love him with all my heart, I would never leave him." "Mummy?" Ari looked back to the leader as he let the fire come hurdling before them. Just as Ari let her eyes close, and body be surrounded by Ice, her last protection for her daughters. A shield. Made from herself, a single tear leaking from her eyes down her cheek, preserved just like the rest of her. Ari had no idea if she would ever wake up, never using this power more then on a arm, and that itself took months to melt. Let alone her whole person... If she ever woke at all.

Mizetto kicked Clue's sides in an effort to make him go faster, but it was like heading into a snapping trap. The moment the two got closer, passing the gates leading into the clan, more Humans appeared from hiding places. One caught Clue's legs a strong gust of wind, sending the wolf off balance and tumbling forwards, and the other carefully aimed a bolt of lightening at Mizetto. It struck his back, causing every muscle to tense and freeze as Mizetto fell forwards with Clue. They both tumbled, and with hunters swarming around them, Mizetto saw hope shatter on all sides. He looked forward desperately, hoping to see Ari winning, instead he watched his lifelong love embracing their daughters, a ball of spitting flames coming rocketing towards her. In a split second, Mizetto imagined everything was fine, Ari knew how he felt, his guilt and self-loathing, and how much he loved her. He wished he could talk, but his throat was clamped shut as lightening paralysed the Demon's body. So he lay there, hopeless and helpless as the fire impacted the little group. It set fire to Mizetto's heart, the three that held it, and for a moment, Mizetto didn't know if he'd find anything left. But, as the red flames cleared, there were still figures there. Mizetto could hear young cries, both Glacie and Terra broken over something. When all Mizetto could see was a figure of blue crystal, his eyes widened as he figured it out. Ari promised never to use such a spell. Instantly, Mizetto's eyes seemed to shatter into streams of tears, just staring towards the image before him. Someone pressed down on Mizetto back, a wicked chuckle to their voice. They called Ari harsh names, and watched the Demon squirm desperately for movement. His body was slowly responding, and the moment Mizetto thought he could move, the weight above him disappeared. With a deep scream, the thug that was standing on Mizetto had a pair of large teeth around his neck, lifting him clear off the ground and throwing him back like a dead rodent. Clue charged at whatever hunter stood between Mizetto and his family, all those who'd planned on being a trap to stop them, Clue was violently keeping at bay.
Mizetto didn't even have time to thank Clue, his body dragged him straight towards Ari and the kids. Glacie and Terra were both still wet with tears, grasping onto their frozen mother, trying to thaw her out with their bodies. Mizetto breathed quickly, his hands hovering over Ari's head, feeling the chilling presence of the powerful magic she'd used. Mizetto's heart sank, he glanced to the twins, but couldn't find a voice to talk to them. Someone else broke the silence beyond the distant fighting with a laugh, causing Mizetto's head to turn around to face the one who'd caused all of this. The hunter grinned, preparing more flames. "Ready to join her? Or can I burn those two rats first?" He grunted, giving off a short chuckle. Of course, Mizetto silenced him before any more throaty laughter could come out. He cast up the earth to burst up and grasp onto the hunter's arms, opening them up and holding him still. With a glare that made his eyes glow viciously, Mizetto didn't even give the man a single word, flicking his hand and manipulating the two pillars of stone to pull apart the hunter. With a quick snap, and wicked scream, Mizetto plucked both arms off the thug, letting him drop to the ground in pain. Mizetto left him there for a moment, moving a hand again to command one pillar of stone to spin around, doing a loop until it returned to slam against the hunter's head, cracking open his skull like a raw egg. Mizetto was pale, deathly pale, he looked around at the other hunters. Some were injured or mauled to death by Clue's rampage, but the Wolvine himself had vanished back into Baransu, taking some thugs with him. The few that remained were stunned by the swift yet brutal death of their leader, looking at Mizetto like he was... a monster. Finally his eyes looked down to the girls, both seemed scared, whether it was from the display their father just made, or the general situation. Mizetto pulled them both away from Ari, some more screams from the girls. "Listen to me, you've got to run. Use those wings to fly home, or Dranar, or anywhere safe from here. Find the old man and stay safe. Your mother... she's goin' to be alright, I'll stay here and protect her. You both just need to get somewhere safe, promise me?" Mizetto ordered the twins, their eyes were bloodshot and wide with terror, but both seemed to nod. Mizetto nodded back, giving his girls a very short smile and hug, before getting up. "Now go, quickly."
