It wasn't a patrol Hane wanted to remember, but he felt as though he'd never forget. The Angel had years of experience to mentally prepare himself for anything to come to the doors of Shiro at night. A night raid of Demons or Demonic creatures, Angels seeking comfort or shelter. A wicked natural storm, sleeping walking guards and supposed ghosts in the long corridors. But he'd never expected to fine, or ever wish to find, his favourite pupil clinging to life after what appeared to be torture. Hane was deeply troubled when he'd landed on that stolen ship. And when Hane was upset, he refused to show it, and became stern and and almost angry. He had apologised for it when things had calmed down, but at first, Hane had even demanded the Human woman her reason for being there. Accusations had been tossed all over, mostly at the already passed out Kaku for letting himself get so hurt. Ignoring the wounds, and the crushing feeling in Hane's chest whenever he saw blood or listened to the dying wheeze of his student, Hane had carried Kakushin straight to Tenshi. The Queen had experienced unrest all night, and so fortunately was awake at the time.
Leaving her to her business, Hane let introductions fall for the new Human, who at this point Hane had be told was immensely helpful in preserving their Guardian when making the flight up here. He busied himself with alerting other guards and Angels in the castle of what was going on, and arranged beds for the guest, as well as a comfortable place for Kakushin to be that was close to the Queen should anything else go wrong. After that, and when things had settled down in the earlier morning, Hane was more open to relaxing a bit, although was firm on keeping a watch over his student. Sitting next to the bed, Hane almost looked like a statue, not moving unless he heard changes in Kaku's condition, or if Tenshi or Nanari spoke to him.

Tenshi was having trouble sleeping, knowing things were happening down in Sohul that she couldn't prevent even if she tried. She had known for months what was to happen, well, that something of massive proportion was to occur, but nothing could prepare her for what actually happened. In a state of shock and panic over Kaku's state, Tenshi was just about ready to leave Aura to kill whoever did this to one of her children, it was inhuman. But she knew she had bigger matters to attend to, getting Hane to set Kaku in her personal chambers, knowing if another was to see such a strong Guardian in such a state, a wave of panic would set in. Getting straight to healing, Tenshi used up what magic she could to heal him, fixing the lungs, broken bones and the internal bleeding. He would remain in pain for a while, and had to rest, but he would be alright.. Luckily. Tenshi had huge thanks to give to the human child, if not for her, Kakushin would have been lost to them. Having Kaku moved once he was healed, Tenshi refused to leave the bedside. Not understanding how she allowed her child to be a victim of such a cruel fate. She could feel tears running down her cheeks, despite knowing that he would wake once more. She could tell, despite the way Hane was acting that he cared and was immensely worried for his student, she was too, and yet she struggled to find the words to say. "He'll be fine in a few days, he is strong... And stubborn, I don't know where he got that from..." Giving off a slight smile, Tenshi placed a hand on Hane's shoulder before turning towards Nanari. "I thank you again, we would have lost him if not for your quick help."

The one grateful thing about passing out was that it was dreamless. Kakushin didn't have to worry about being tormented in his sleep, and only needed to be concerned that each breath might be the last. Rocking back and forth from awareness to painful waves of nothing, Kaku could only make out some of the things being done around him. There was a new voice, and everyone started moving. Before Kaku knew it, he was lifted off the ground roughly, and instantly held down the explosion of pain as he knew exactly who this was. If Hane was here, then Kaku could truly give up on struggling to regain consciousness for now. And so the Angel feel deep into his mind, feeling nothing but the waves of pain that he'd felt for what he could only consider was forever. It was enough for Kakushin to wish an end to it, by whatever means. But then, it seemed like for a moment, something warm embraced Kakushin's chest, like a soft blanket. It smothered pain for a while, fixing things inside of Kaku until the Angel was healed. When the pain returned, it was a mere flickering flame to the roaring fire it had been moments ago. Kaku could have smiled, if he could even wake up. A task that seemed impossible to do for now, through extreme exhaustion. Kakushin woke with his eyes to the side, seeing a sight he thought was impossible. Hane, looking actually concerned for someone's well-being. Was this the cute little, emotional Angel that none but usually the Queen had the joy of meeting? Kaku could have laughed, but instead began coughing. His breathing was fine, and that was what surprised the Angel into choking on the pleasant easiness of taking a breath. There was something tickling his hand, and Kaku moved his thumb to brush against Neko's soft fur. The cat was busy cleaning up the wound on Kaku's hand, now permanently sealed. Kaku almost smiled, eyes moving around. Before he thought of something that worried him, something that needed a reassuring answer. "H-how long?" Kaku asked with his raspy voice, desperate to know just how long he'd been out for, hoping it wasn't long.

Nanari wanted to cower in a little fear once they reached the castle, the sudden arrival of a worried, but seemingly angry Angel was not what she was expecting, and for a moment she felt as if she did something wrong by being here. Not that she would have refused if she knew she couldn't come, as Kaku needed her help whether they liked it or not. Wincing as the Angel lifted Kaku without a care to the wounds, she concluded that it was probably his way of coping, making it seem like Kaku wasn't on the verge of death. Stepping out of the ship, Nanari took a moment now she had the chance to really look at Aura and the castle, it really was a spectacular sight one in which she never thought she would get the pleasure of seeing. Introduction to Hane wasn't as frightening as she thought, and actually could see sincerity when he discovered she was of help with Kaku. But once offered a bed for the night, Nanari felt her exhaustion of magic catch up with her, and no more then a second after hitting the bed did she fall into a slumber. Currently Nanari was standing on the opposite side on Kaku to the others, watching over her friend praying for his health and life. But part of her knew there was nothing to worry about, especially after her majesty personally helped. Looking up towards the Angels, Nanari gave a small smile towards the two, the praise for her help burying itself deep inside her, especially coming from the queen. But before she could admit to it being no problem, her gaze was moved to Kaku, grabbing his unoccupied hand, sheading tears of joy that he was okay, Nanari chuckled slightly. "Just the night, though I was certain you would wake up sooner and try to sneak off..." In reality, she really believed he would do that after watching him try to go after and help the others when he was almost dead... Nanari wouldn't put it past him.

Hane huffed at what the Queen said. Although, he kind of took it as a compliment, and a reassurance. Yes, all of Hane's students knew better than to give in, Hane had forced that down their throats during training. But that was usually considered when fighting. Hane knew from experience what extreme pain did to one's mind. He himself had once almost given up on life, and the soul has a strong choice over life and death than the body did. Hane did almost smile however, when her highness felt confident in Kaku's recovery. "I do not train our Guardians to fall to one measly battle... I- know he shall be fine." Hane replied, biting his tongue on the last comment. A lying confidence was all Hane had going for himself when his mind was so conflicted with emotion. Golden eyes turned to their guest, someone warming to Hane, ally wise. "Indeed, it is rare to find a Human with such talent for healing, we owe you a token of gratitude." When his pupil coughed alive again, Hane felt a little embarrassed as his head darted towards Kaku, staring out his condition. Hearing that the Angel was stupid enough to have Nanari believe he'd run away, Hane's look turned to a scowl. "Rest easy Miss. Nanari, now that he's in Shiro, I will not make it an easy time to get out."

Tenshi sighed in relief once Kaku opened his eyes and spoke. It was always reassuring once her patients awoke, as it meant they were on the road to recovery. Chuckling slightly once Hane and Nanari mentioned Kaku running off, she knew as a solid fact that he would have done just that. He was stubborn, and had a drive to help others no matter his condition, and while Tenshi admired him for that, she couldn't help but be concerned for his health. "I don't think any of us are going to let him escape anytime soon, it was nasty injuries as you could see." Tenshi made a mental note to warn some of the guards on duty today to keep an eye out for her child, even if she knew Hane wouldn't let him escape. "How are you feeling Kakushin?" Moving down to help him sit up and move the hair out of her child's eyes, Tenshi began to show her motherly side, and not in the form of a concerned queen, a true unguarded worry. Smiling towards Kaku, Tenshi leant down to leave a small loving kiss to his forehead, she could only imagine the pain he went through, and what pain he would probably still be in.

Kakushin sighed with relief. So it had only been a short sleep. Good, there wasn't time to waste away, and the Angel would hate himself to be resting around for too long. He had to get back down to Aura, find Rurushu and Chester, and help them. The others wouldn't understand, soon to be proven, but Kakushin would be determined to go and help, now that he could rebuild energy. When he felt Nanari's hand, the Angel smiled, huffing when she spoke. "If you... w-weren't all here..." Kaku muttered, looking to the side. When Hane looked to him with general worry, Kaku frowned, choking on a chuckle. "W-what you... scared f-for? Y-you've let me in... worse c-condition than.. this." Kakushin stated towards his teacher, not used to seeing the Royal Guard like this. Hane would be a problem in the upcoming days, no doubt making it his sole duty to make sure Kaku didn't escape from unwanted rest. There would have to be a way around him, Kakushin knew he couldn't play chase with his teacher forever, for there were people he needed to find safe that certainly weren't playing games.
Kaku let out a soft groan when Tenshi helped him sit up. Despite the lingering pain in everything he did, compared to what it had been, this was bliss. Catching his breath back, Kakushin smiled. Tenshi really was a mother to all of the Angels. Her kindness was one of the only things Kaku missed when he left Aura years ago. Her forgiveness, her gentle touch to calm down any troubled soul, it really made and Angel like Kaku grateful. Kakushin blinked his eyes open. "Fine n-now... It's nothing like i-it w-was... thanks to all of you. B-but probably n-not that old guy." Kakushin replied, lifting a brow to Hane. Feeling Neko stop licking, Kaku lifted his hand to his view. The wound was still fresh and deep red, and looked like a dream to look at. It really was hard to comprehend. No matter how small a part it was, Kaku felt like a part of him was missing now, and felt angry that it was taken by the despicable man now hold Rurushu to whatever sick position he felt like.

Nanari remained holding Kaku's hand, but didn't throw herself into the conversation. She felt as if she was opposing, considering that the others knew one another, and she only met Kaku briefly, but she wouldn't leave, she had to make sure Kaku was definitely okay. Chuckling slightly with the banter going on, Nanari could tell it was homely here, and watching her majesty act so motherly towards Kaku warmed her heart, especially as she had proof that she was as kind and loving as many believed her to be. Squeezing Kaku's hand tighter as he looked at the missing finger, Nanari gave him a small smile. "It wont grow back im afraid... But not to worry too much, give it a week and you wont even realise its missing..." Nanari in the back of her mind knew those words may not help, but she knew beating around the bush wouldn't do him any good either, so she might as well try to console him in a way where he knew what was missing, but could adapt to live without it. "Just think of it as a battle scar, one which ended one chapter in the battle but started another, one where the hero gets back up to fight on..."

Hane averted his eyes when Kakushin jested to him. Huffing, the Angel almost smiled. "I wasn't afraid, and I never leave anything permanent on my pupils." Hane stated, folding his arms over his chest and leaning back on his chair. Hane's feathers ruffled at the idea of his student still considering a run away. How could he possibly think of getting away. It wasn't just idiotic to think of leaving, but also thinking that he could even get away with Hane like an all day owl, scouting the castle at all times. Hane let the Queen do her motherly think, remembering the time he'd kept locked up in his memory of when he received similar care, even though it was almost two centuries ago. The small Angel was close to swatting his student, but let the second jest pass. Of all the ways to tease him, Hane didn't mind being called an old man. He was old, and longed for more people to realize it. It was one reason why Kakushin was a specially treasured student, he was the only one to treat Hane by his age and wisdom, and not his looks. Following the gaze to the finger, Hane couldn't help but think of what offensive disadvantage it would give. Not too much, except from alterations to how a sword was gripped. But even that slight change in a warrior so heavily trained could turn an expert back into a beginner. "Scars serve as reminders of what one has lost. They hold painful memories to them, but I always see the memories as inspiration to continue on, and face more occasions when more scars may be necessary." Hane replied after Nanari, nodding to the Human woman as he approved of her way with words.

Tenshi chuckled at the conversation as she stroked Kaku's hair, it was always amusing watching Hane and Kaku fight, especially considering Kakushin treated Hane as old as he was, and she knew how much it meant to the other. Though she had to admit her eyes dropped once Kaku looked at his missing finger, she always wished she had the ability to treat any wound, no matter how small or large, but she knew she couldn't, so whenever she saw one of her children faced with such an issue, it broke her heart knowing she could do little about it. But her smiled picked up once more in hearing the others words, it was true, and Tenshi couldn't really let herself feel down, or Kaku just because she couldn't do more to help. Sometimes Tenshi felt like such a child when she heard Hane, and others like Nanari speak with more wisdom and knowledge then the old queen who should be speaking such things. "I believe Nanari and Hane has set words of wisdom on the table. Don't let such a thing let you stop what your good at my child. Im sure he wouldn't want you feeling down... Just like how we don't." Tenshi knew how powerful Kaku could become, but she feared that all things leading up to now would set him back from trying, it would not have been the first time in her years that she's seen her child want to give up their ambition because of such a simple thing, and she knew it wouldn't be the last... All she hoped was that Kakushin would not be the one to fall.

Kaku dropped the land like a dead weight, letting it fall cushioned over Neko's stomach, who was now taking his opportunity to sleep, now that everyone else was up and talking. The Angel scratched the softer fur under Neko's belly, the cat too tired to find it anything other than soothing. The others made a good point, and Kaku almost smiled, pressing his head back against the wall. "B-but... why'd it have.. to be my right hand?" He muttered, feeling light enough to jest a bit more. He supposed having a battle scar couldn't hurt, and Kakushin was sure as soon as his mind was at rest, and everyone was safe, the Guardian of Peace would find ways to get sympathy points off people, and perhaps make a joke or two. And, as a reliable point to follow, he was lucky he lose something so minor. He tried to hide the blush on his face, upon hearing that Tenshi did know as much as he thought she did. But the blush dissolved as Kakushin's eyes dropped, thinking back to the true reason why he was here, still alive. Yet again he was alive because some one else had taken his place, and he still had no power over it happening. "I-I won't l-let anything s-stop me... not until, they're safe." Kakushin said finally, eyes fixed determinedly to his hand. No, if stubbornness was what kept him alive now, then Kakushin was going to use that idiotic nature one way or another to help. Kaku sighed, blinking out of the bad thoughts in his head for a moment, to bring up something else. "T-the.. events from... last night, how much do you know... T-Tenshi?" Kaku asked, not sure if he himself could explain the whole ordeal to them without losing his voice or taking a long time to say it all.

Nanari smiled when Neko fell asleep, the poor thing had been worried sick all night for his friend, and she didn't blame him. Moving her free hand, Nanari also scratched behind Neko's ear for a few seconds before moving back to hold Kaku's hand with both of hers. She didn't exactly want to interrupt the conversation going on at the moment, but she was ready to say her piece if it was needed. But she admits to chuckling slightly as Kaku blushed, she didn't know exactly what was going on between Kaku and her brother, but from what she saw, they cared for one another a lot, especially for Ruru to save Kaku by going with the enemy. Squeezing Kaku's hand a little for reassurance, even Nanari could tell that her majesty wasn't going to be cruel with anything she said, it wasn't hard to tell she was happy for Kaku, and just wanted to tease him. Hane was another matter entirely, as Nanari couldn't tell what he was thinking, but she silently prayed that Kaku wouldn't be sent into deep water for the relationship, but with both of them in mind, Nanari was curious as to what the queen knew, and both their reactions.

Hane wasn't much on the word of news. He looked after the Queen, sometimes was spoken to about events just for his opinions, but Hane never persisted to know everything. Being one of the immortal protectors of the worlds, there wasn't a speck of these worlds Tenshi couldn't find out. Hane could have exploited his closeness with her majesty for his own gain of knowledge, but refused for all of his years to give into curiosity. He was, and always would serve as a perfectly normal Royal Guard, one who moved with the winds of caution and rejected too much curiosity. That being said, as Tenshi suggested into something about Kaku's life the teacher didn't quite know about yet, Hane frowned. "So you are in a relationship with someone? How long has this been going on? Who are they? Have your foolish actions been a consequence of seeing them?" The Angel was on the edge of his seat with his questions, feeling like a paranoid parent. Kakushin seemed determined to make sure every breath he spent was used on working towards helping people close to him. Hane just hoped whoever this person was, they were worth his favourite student risking his life over. If not, then Hane didn't care if he suffocated, he'd visit Sohul to find this person. Hane wasn't fond of relationships himself. They were an invisible string that anyone would find themselves tripping over at some point in their life, no matter who they were, but they were also incredibly dangerous. Whilst Hane hadn't found passionate love in someone, he did find himself falling over those he treated like family. So despite his distrust, Hane himself knew he couldn't help but make his actions reflect from those he wished to protect.

Tenshi chuckled slightly, she had to admit, she forgot that Hane did not know, but Tenshi was sure that if she was happy with the relationship, then Hane would have to be to, regardless on what he actually thinks. Slightly ruffling Hanes hair, Tenshi gave him a look of warning. "Don't seem so angry. I happen to think the relationship is extremely cute." Sticking her tongue out at Hane, she turned her attention towards Kaku once more before giving off a predatory grin. "I know enough... Who do you think chose the Jiko's last year? And why those certain Jiko's were chosen." Winking towards Kaku, Tenshi felt giddy with excitement, she adored the relationship and felt a little bad about how things went down between the two, but after months of watching Kaku finally become himself fully again, thanks to Rurushu, she knew they would patch things up. "I know all that transpired last night, just as I know how your relationship started... I found it incredibly adorable." Giving another smile towards Kaku, and a warning glare towards Hane as to not interfere with the relationship that Tenshi fully supported, she briefly turned her attention towards Nanari. "I understand as well that you just found out the truth on who he is to you, and I will say I wish I could have let him into the Angel realm, I know all he did was to help you, unfortunately that is not how things work. And don't hate him for who he is, what he became, because I know its only because he had a bad hand in life that lead him to become what he is... And I know for a fact he wanted to leave that life behind thanks to Kaku here.. And that last part concerns you too Kaku, don't hate him for it, the more you dwell on it, the more likely you are to lose him for something out of his control."

So the truth finally came out. Kakushin knew there must have been a clear reason as to why Outlaws were allowed to join the Jiko festival, and why Rurushu out of the hundred taking part all over the realms was chosen alongside Kaku. It felt embarrassing. Kakushin thought he could hold this relationship to himself, and a few selected others. It would be perfectly peaceful that way. But of all people to find out, Kakushin supposed Queen Tenshi wasn't a bad choice. After all, if she was for the relationship, then maybe they could have the free and peaceful relationship they desired, when all conflict had finished. "I-is there a-anything... you d-don't know?" Kaku asked Tenshi with a worried smile. Kaku glanced to Nanari as she became a focus of attention for a moment. "I don't think.. i-it matters, Demon or A-angel. O-our paths are... already m-made for us. W-we can only choose, h-how we go d-down those paths." There was proof enough that being reborn as an Angel didn't exactly mean life was fairer on you. Kakushin knew from experience that the world was indiscriminately cruel to all. The only thing fate didn't control, was how one chose to follow it. Perhaps Rurushu had been given an unfortunate fate to begin with, but that didn't set the rest of life in stone. That same fact went to everyone, including Kaku. The Angel looked down, thinking about what he'd said last night, feeling angry at himself. "I... I wish I c-could take back l-last night. If anything... just what I s-said." Kaku muttered, squeezing his eyes closed. "W-want to say... that w-whatever journey i-it has been, I w-would... be h-happy to follow him d-down the rest of h-his path." Swallowing hard, Kaku avoided Hane's gaze, instead looking down to the napping Neko. He smiled weakly, "I-I'm so... glad you're not a-awake." He mumbled down to the dozing cat, rolling his fingers down the cat's soft back.
