FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here is the place for any questions I, (Jazzy) believed would be asked most frequently, along with some answers to the more confusing aspects of DestinyRPG:
Here is the place for any questions I, (Jazzy) believed would be asked most frequently, along with some answers to the more confusing aspects of DestinyRPG:
1. What if my character naturally carries around a weapon? Do I need to buy it from the shop to make it official, or does it need to be my Free Item?
You don't need to buy a weapon from the store, so long as the weapon your character has is not Shadow or Silver, or enchanted. These upgrades for weapons must be purchased from the shop. However, you can go as adventurous as you wish on weapons. Guns are allowed, but are restricted to the early hand-cannons, (i.e. no machine guns or tanks or crazy rocket launchers please.)
2. How advanced are the societies in Destiny?
The way I view technology in Destiny is in a Steam-punk/Magic feel. Yes, there is electricity available, supplied by magic. But technology only goes as far as energy-using transportation, lights and telephonic communication. There's no massive, complicated technological items. Radio is as far as 'entertainment' goes in Destiny's technological advances. 3. If I play as a Human, do I have the option to kill my character to make them become a Demon or Angel?
Yes of course! If you want a new spark in your character, or you think it would make a good plot, then by all means kill them off and become one of the spiritual races! 4. What does a typical Demon look like?
It is by Destiny Lore that there isn't a 'common' appearance amongst Demons. They all vary. Before Humans were reborn into Demons, the dark race were a lot more animal-like and strange, (look at King Mo for an example of this). But now, Demons usually take a much more Humanoid appearance, although they all share the same traits of a tail, wings and fangs. Some Demons have horns, others don't. Some have bright pink fur, others have normal Human skin. As you can see, Demons can look like almost anything. 5. Do Demons and Angels age at the same rate as Humans?
Normal Demons and Angels have an average lifespan of 150 years, longer than Humans. They go through stages of growth, continuing to grow into an adult until the age of maturity, at 25. At this point, they appear to not age or change significantly until they are beyond 100 years old. 6. Are Demons, Angels and Humans the only playable races?
Yes and No. They are the three main races on the site, however in the Shop, you have the ability to buy and create a separate race of your own. Provided you can get approval for the new race of Admins, this new race could be added for forum-wide use. (Since this is the case, it is wise to share currency to buy a race if more than one of you wishes to make it.) 7. What does the Star Ranking system actually mean?
Ranks are given to characters simply to make a basic idea of how strong that character is. A rank of 10 Stars being the strongest, and 1 Star being the lowest. All this rank system is really need for is to judge how strong your character is, especially when in combat. The ranks are very loose, since at Destiny we don't like having too much restriction. So even though your character can only start up to 5 Stars, they can still be pretty tough, depending on whether it sounds realistic enough for them to be. (e.g. a 5 Star ranked Swordsman whose trained their whole life would be more likely to fight balanced with a 6 Star ranked fighter, than a 5 Star ranked Shopkeeper with less fighting experience). 8. What exactly separates the three realms?
Sohul is basically the earth, and Dranar and Aura are in the sky. Looking up from Sohul, anyone can see what separates the two airborne realms. At all times of day, the sky is split into a gold and red light. No matter where you stand in Sohul, this split is always in the direct center of your sight. On the gold side of the sky is Aura, and the red side is Dranar. Provided you can fly, you can enter either. Picture them as floating islands, the undersides coated in clouds and magic so that they're not visible from Sohul. Once you get through the gold or red layers of clouds, you are in the spiritual realms. There is a barrier down the split in the sky that prevents travel directly from Aura to Dranar or Dranar to Aura, with the original purpose of preventing conflict between the unstable relationship between Demon and Angel. It is entirely possible for a human to go to the sky realms, if they have a flying vehicle or pet. But it is unlikely they'd get far into the realms without being chased out/politely removed by the spiritual inhabitants.
