Note: One fight from the Festival of Unity, Day 5's games.
Shinda couldn't help but recall the first Festival compared to this one. He didn't even dare go down during the week of celebration and remembrance. He didn't have a face others saw as the one to blame for the whole war, but Shinda did have a very unique look, and he was quick to assume he'd not be welcome down during the week of fun. That quickly dissolved, when he took part in the second year, just to help put up decorations, then one of the other workers asked him to take part in the games. Years to come resulted in the old Demon to have a 'fan group' of sorts, that longed to see him take part in the games. And there was only one game for Shinda, fights. These weren't like the years of fighting he and Akvan had done, that both agreed they never wanted to see again. These fights were for fun, for tests of strength rather then fits of rage. They were honourable, and enjoyable to the core. Perhaps that was what made everyone quickly warm up to the idea of having the Demon take part. He might be different, might have been the reason behind that conflict years ago, but in this arena, he was a fighter amongst fighters. And whilst in here, Shinda was forgiven, which was why he loved this time of year so much.
Fights went down, the winners dwindling down and pairs being made for final rounds. Shinda of course got into one of those groups, and didn't know his opponent until both step into the arena- something which was brand new, compared to the fields used in previous years. He waddled up to the gate, tail swishing lazily, the sharp end wrapped up tight with a soft but strong material, one risk Shinda didn't have to worry about during these fights. All he needed to take care of was not letting his armoured hands hit too hard, in previous years he'd accidentally left some nasty marks on others. He could hear the crowd gain excitement, and watched the gate rise, his entrance permitted. And Shinda dashed into the arena, looking around at the many faces, some of those he recognised, whom he'd spoken to in the past. People in his life Shinda didn't expect to be allowed after all that time being punished and being cruel. The Demon smiled, warming the crowd up with a feral roar, before hearing another gate open. His opponent. After making his way through knights and large thugs alike to get here, he was expecting someone big and tough. His opponent was certainly one of those things, and Shinda looked shocked for a moment, then happy the next, as he looked over to his niece.

Nanari didn't take part in the fighting side of the festival very much for the same reason her father was banned from taking part in the cooking competitions. But after what had happened recently, her mother and father both convinced her to finally go have some fun and to make sure she did they signed her up. Taking down the knights and the thugs and whatever else they threw her way, gaining a lot of respect from the crowd as she did so... She wasn't Hane's daughter for nothing after all. She was wondering who her main opponent was, the other finalist this year, she hadn't actually looked to see who else was taking part. Looking up as the gates opened, Nanari skipped onto the stage, smiling as she came face to face with her Uncle, now this was something she may enjoy a bit more now, knowing she doesn't have to hold back from her attacks... And her words, because this meant she could tease and joke while in this fight... It was high time she stole some of his fans she hears about. "This is my opponent? Awh, here's me thinking I would have someone worthy and difficult to defeat..." Nanari gave a laugh and a smile over to Shinda to show she was only messing with him, she knew what he could do, and this would be a pretty even match... It would be fun to see who wins. Getting into her fighting stance, Nanari knew it was better to let him go first and to find his fighting style before going in... Knowing he would likely change it as its her.

Shinda chuckled loud. Gone was his determined glare, now the Demon smiled wide to his niece. He'd watched her grow and get stronger, but had never had the chance to really spar with the young lady herself, despite knowing with her father's training style, a spar wouldn't be too easily won. It seemed now was the chance to test how good Nanari really was. Shinda's tail flickered, "Ha, I might be an old lizard, but I'm not getting any softer. Better watch how hard you hit Nanari." Shinda replied back, giving Nanari the same sort of grin that she gave him. He walked closer, swooping up onto his back legs to stand taller, lifting his fists as he did. A part of Shinda wondered what kind of crap he'd get if he won, or if he actually hurt his precious niece here. He knew Nanari could handle a lot, and for what she couldn't handle, she had her magic for, it was the reaction from her father that Shinda worried about. And right now, he was very grateful that Hane was busy judging the event in Aura to see this. Shinda got his fists ready, holding them close to his face, swaying from foot to foot. There were some murmurs, as the Arena grew quiet in anticipation. Shinda usually adopted a feral fighting style, attacking like a wild animal that was cornered. This time he stood, holding fists rather than claws, and it seemed to make his audience confused. Shinda was simply testing the water, seeing if he could try to get Nanari off guard, by altering how he usually fought. Tail posed behind him, keeping the Demon balanced whilst he stood in a way that wasn't natural, Shinda charged up to the younger Angel, digging a foot into the ground to root himself whilst bringing up the other to kick towards Nanari, testing what her reactions were like.

Nanari gave a grin before loosely holding her fists in front of her, just as her uncle did. She knew he would adopt a different style for now, his way to get her off guard, but she was prepared for it and she ran towards him, jumping and flipping over his kick before sweeping his leg from underneath him as she landed. Turning around and looking down at her uncle, Nanari gave a small shrug and smile. "And you may want to watch your footing." His unnatural stance was easy to counteract when you knew how to do so, even with the tail being used as balance... It wasn't the most difficult appendage to use against him. Holding up her fists once more, Nanari knew her best course of action would either to attack his back where he cannot get his claws on her, or use his strength and skill against him... Like slamming his own fist into his face... Not an easy doing in the arena, but not impossible... But she needed to act quickly to knock him out doing so, otherwise Shinda may catch on pretty quickly. She now just needed to find a way to avoid the tail...

Shinda's foot raked across the ground, bringing up the hard ground with him as he was swept. Small stones jumped into the air, and not being one to like having his weaker front exposed, Shinda rolled over, rushing up onto his feet, then onto his back legs, growling to Nanari as she spoke. She was smart, like her father, and he could tell even from here those eyes of her were calculating her next action. Shinda only gave his a moment of thought. If Nanari was the speed in this fight, it naturally meant Shinda had to be the brute strength. Or at least, that was how it seemed right now, but Shinda had never been build for strength alone, otherwise he would have been the size of the monster that almost crushed him as a child. He posed his tail just above the ground, and charged again, one fist lashing forwards, the other close to his face as a armoured shield. He didn't stop after the attempted punch, he kept moving passed. Allowing his tail to throw itself towards Nanari's feet, the appendage built to attack quick. She was fine from the sharpened point, but the tail itself hurt like a whip, unless Nanari dodged.

Her mother warned her ages back of some of Shinda's fighting style, nothing bad, but just in case she ever tried to spar with him... One of those bits of warning was about the tail, and in seeing Shinda move, Nanari knew her next move. Waiting until the last second, she jumped and leaped from his tail, being clipped slightly in the process as she hugged his on coming fist and swung around to make his other hand punch him in the face, before dropping and moving behind her uncle. She felt the pain in the leg as she landed from where the tail still managed to get, but ignored it for now, once Shinda was weakened a bit, she could focus on healing herself. Next, Nanari aimed for his back, jumping upon it and wrapping her arms around his neck, before tipping back in an attempt to knock him onto the floor. Not easy for a walking piece of armour, but she hoped to at least do some damage before the fight was over, deep down knowing that without using any weapon, she couldn't do a thing to him. Which was fine, she was damn well sure though going to go down with a fight, making sure to get some good hits in.

The girl was quick, Shinda was surprised Hane hadn't taught her his Light-Speed magic yet, unless he had, and Nanari was just going easy on him. But even without it, she was quick. Dodging his fist, and before Shinda could even watch her next move, something knocked into his jaw, harder than a normal fist. Clever lass had pulled him into hitting himself, and it did some far damage to the Demon's jaw, and threw him off balance to make it easier to dodge his tail, and have a second of advantage against the Demon. Without her in sight, Shinda was left dazed for a moment, it was enough time to allow her to grab him from behind, and pull Shinda down onto the ground. His back was well armoured, so the fall itself didn't cause any issue, other than a small winding. However, Shinda was grounded again, with his weaker front exposed. Once more he had to roll, unable to avoid any hits as he got back to his feet, this time remaining on all fours, hissing to his niece. Fortunately she'd grown up knowing Shinda wasn't completely civil, with his blood being that of a feral Demon, so he doubted Nanari would see his natural noises as a threat. On fours, Shinda mirrored what Nanari did, pouncing forwards in attempt to grab around her shoulders and pull her down, aiming to pin her if possible.
