"Ancient Languages, Guild Speech and Guide... Dr Talidorm Julius Von Dyke? I'm trying to train up a fucking Nerd..." Shyon made her way into Bibliotheca, a small but jam packed bookshop run by Acta in the middle or Sora. Shyon helped the poor woman out when a rare copy of a book went missing by thieves and Shyon sought them out to get it back, good thing too, as the book was worth over a thousand gold. Shyon never really understood the love for reading, but then again she was an active woman who didn't like to settle down in one spot for too long. But still, a thousand gold for a single book? Even Shyon would get collecting if they were all like that. She heard the little bell dingle as she entered, moving the dust from her eyes. Acta never had chance to really tidy up in here, but it was a cosy place, once you got over the dust layer. "Shyon dearie, come in, come in. What brings you here?" Shyon smiled round to Acta, the woman still looking just as young as she did in her youth, then again her magic might have something to do with that, considering she was in her nineties now. "Hello Acta. I've come to collect some books for a friend of mine in exchange for something." Acta knew by now friend meant client, and just gave a smile, before gesturing for the list in her hands. "Wow, Ancient Languages... Now that's a book none have tried bying since my days as dancer in Baransu."
Shyon watched as Acta made her way around the shop dragging out book after book and piling it like she knew exactly where stuff was... Probably did, seeing how often the woman worked, it was twenty minuets for book piling and idle chatter until she was done, and sorting through what was picked out. "Some of these books haven't seen the light of day in years, simply because I couldn't be asked to fish them out. So we have some old lore on three of the clans, The Yaku, Mun, and Iwa Clans... I can probably find others if you give me a few days. I also have here Volumes one, four, seven, ten, fifteen, twenty and oh look number two of the Dr Talidorm Julius Von Dyke collection. And if you give me a moment." Shyon watched as Acta headed out back and return with a large hardbound leather book that was almost too heavy for her to hold, a very familiar book. "Ancient Languages, complete with original binding and no ripped pages thanks to you." Shyon took in the book before running a gentle hand over the cover. "Didn't you say none have tried buying the book for years? But I got it back from thieves not a year ago..." "They didn't try to buy it though my dear..." Shyon gave Acta a look before chuckling. "How much for them all?" Acta gave a look of amusement. "That important of a client eh? You know how much this book is worth... I can give you the clan ones as they would be thrown out anyways... The collection would be for you to help me clean up this space as I'm too old to do so now, but I will get the others in to finish it while you do so... While this one... I can give you a deal... I want to meet this client of yours, I want to see if they have what it takes to fill what I want in the buyer... And then I'll set a price." Shyon gave a nod of thanks, not knowing how well that would go down with Banto, but then again, he might in time. "I'll take the Clan books for now and come back next week to help with the shop so if you could get more volumes in that would be wonderful... And I'll have to talk to Ban... My client about this one."
Shyon thanked Acta, taking away the few she got, before flying off to Banto. All but knocking down the door, books and bow in tow. "OI BANTO. TIME FOR TRAINING. DONT MAKE ME COME AND DRAG YOU." She had already set up some training ground by the lake for today, just some targets and markers for firing at, she would get into the more complex stuff to help him later, once she knows he wont mindlessly kill her. "I have three of your goddamned books you wanted, and if you don't hurry I will throw them."

Banto never thought to sort out his book collection, he enjoyed the look of them piled everywhere and anywhere. But, he was nervous, today marked a week, which meant Shyon would supposedly come back to train him. He continued to ask himself why he'd agreed to her deal, then he remembered he was getting books from it, and gave in to the idea. It might be fun, it might also be painful and traumatising, Banto wasn't sure which one he'd pick. Whilst pacing the house was good for releasing stress, sorting out his book was more enjoyable, especially when Banto constantly sidetracked by finding an old one he'd not read in a while, and then spend the rest of the day catching up on it. He was glued to a book when the floor shook a little, the front door being slammed so hard it shook the rest of the house. He scurried to his feet, putting a marker into his book and rushing downstairs, seeing Shyon and then the three books. He gave her a nod, before his eyes scanned the books. He took each carefully, brushing his hand down the spine of each, enjoying how tattered and old some where, which to Banto was always a good sign of a good book. His eyes lit up as he read each title. "The Yaku clan?!" Banto outburst in happy surprise. "Their culture's been dead for almost generations now, this... this book is priceless." He muttered with awe, face gleaming over each book before looking to Shyon and remaining there, finally. He set the books on a table, taking a deep breath. "Alright, I'm ready to go."

Shyon gave a look to Banto as he came rushing down, holding back a laugh at his 'eagerness' before handing over the books and watching before giving a small smile. "Then your going to adore training... Because Acta the stores owner might have the other clans around too, and is getting in the entire Dr Talidorm Julius Von Dyke collection for you... I could tell you about the Ancient languages book your after too, that really rare one that she so happens to have under lock and key..." If that wasn't something to make sure he kept to training, then he was obviously a lost cause before they even began. But giving a nod to Banto, Shyon set into teacher mode and lead him out to the lake with her wooden targets. "I'm teaching you the basics of bow and arrow today, considering its my speciality in the form of crossbows, so I know the schematics of how to aim better then I am with swinging around a sword. Now watch me." Cocking the bow, and aiming it, at the first target, making sure to go slow and explain each movement, Shyon let the arrow fly into the perfect bulls eye before handing the bow over to Banto. "Just do as I did, and I'll correct stance and such as you continue."

Banto didn't know about adoring this training, but, if she was being truthful about the books to come, then Banto was certainly going to take this training without too much complaint. He'd just focus on the fact that once this training was over, he could read the week away about the clans, learn some more language, and hopefully so much lore on their existence. And the Ancient language book, that one was more priceless than anything in Banto's possession, it practically made deciphering any lost script so much easier, and speaking the language itself was said to grant some sort of power. Banto just couldn't wait, but rather than squeal in excitement, he simply smile brightly, almost grateful to Shyon, if he didn't still find her a little intimidating. Bow and arrow, Banto hadn't lifted one once in his life, he only knew a little about using a sword, or a whip, from his parents, nothing about archery had come up. It was almost like they'd avoided trying to teach him, for some reason. Banto remained a considerate pupil as Shyon explained, keeping quiet, and then taking up the bow himself. He pulled back on the string, almost yelping when the string snapped back, slipping through his fingers and hitting his other hand. Hissing, Banto tried smiling awkwardly, "Harder to pull than I was expecting." He commented, before trying again, gripping the string harder as he pulled it back. He tried copying Shyon's pose, arms shaking from the strain of the bow. He was terrible to start, and didn't improve much, perhaps because the most his arms had to life was a massive encyclopaedia on flora that he'd read once. Banto stopped a moment to catch his breath, "This is what I get for breathing in dust for so long, I guess." Banto tried explaining his failure. But, he was almost determined to find some success in this training, if he was forced to partake, then Banto wanted to finish with enough skill to defend himself. With what weapon, he was unsure.

Shyon painstakingly watched Banto try to use a bow, almost wincing at his attempts before giving a sigh as it was an attempt, and it was clear he knew little of what he was doing, and yet carried on trying. Once he paused to take a breath, Shyon walked closer as to fix his stance. "The first step is picking up the bow, so you are doing better then what you once knew..." Moving his feet, Shyon began to explain the steps. "You want your body facing one way, feet shoulder width apart and head aimed towards your target." Making sure he was correctly positioned, Shyon gestured for him to continue, making sure he learnt in separate parts. "Continue, clear you mind to take the shot, it makes things easier. The more you think about how tough it is, the more likely you are to panic about it." Once he tried again, Shyon gave a chuckle before manuvering him once more. "Arm straight holding the bow at your target, three fingers just under the arrow back, and pull it back a couple of centimetres from your nose for now, in line with your mouth. Don't aim now, well work on that once you know how to fire it properly." Shyon was going to take the lessons seriously, few jokes and criticism on his failures, she knew what it was like trying to teach herself these, how she was her own worse critic, she wouldn't put it upon Banto another.

Banto would have to search his supply for a book on archery. Shyon had her ways of teaching, and Banto was confident over time, they'd work, but it wouldn't hurt to teach himself, the way Banto knew best. A book carried no actual experience, but Banto believed there was a lot more in reading than just facts and stories. He chuckled when Shyon put it like he was already better than before, which he supposed was true in a roundabout sort of way. He let Shyon explain a bit more, pulling the bow taught once more. He chuckled a little, "I'm always thinking about a lot, you might be right that it's probably distracting." He commented, because Banto was nothing without his constant train of thought. Always thinking and sometimes over thinking scenarios in his head. And when he did as Shyon said, and cleared it, Banto felt honestly a little bit more relaxed. Banto tried lifting the bow once more, this time with an arrow balanced on it as well. With Shyon there, Banto seemed a bit more calm, loading the arrow in place. The bow creaked as he held it tight, arrow pointing as nothing yet, as Banto wasn't aiming, just learning to fire. But he did lean in a little, a hint of confidence as he looked down the line of the arrowhead. Then Banto let go of the string, hoping his arrow might fly a little, look somewhat impressive. What he got, was an arrow dropping a little way after being released, and a string snapping back right against his ear, where Banto had leaned a little too close. He brought a hand to his ear, feeling it swell in pain. Half way between a grimace and grin, Banto looked to Shyon, "Alright, but... It did fly just a little bit."

Shyon knew it was, it was what hindered her training way back when. But she learnt to clear her mind, its not like she had much to think about anyways. But Shyon had other things to focus on right now, and held her tongue for the shot as he leant in too close. She held inn a laugh at his pain, looking to see where the arrow went. It was improvement, and showed that Banto could learn if he applied himself. "Your picking this up quicker then I did, then again, I had to train myself... Had to break out a couple of books..." A truth she wouldn't deny. "So good work, next time, don't lean so close, keep your head back and straight, as to make sure you don't clip yourself again." Shyon then reached up to move his hand and look into his injury. "Its going to swell a little, wont be too bad, could have been much worse. And the pain will disappear in a moment. Just cover it with something cold when you get back to the house." Shyon didn't know why she said it, normally she would call them an idiot and proceed to tell them something they can do which really didn't work. But it may be because for once it wasn't someone asking, or the fact for once it wasn't actually her fault, not officially anyways.

Banto saw the fun behind things, unless they were threatening his life. So he could get over the pain easily with a smile, glancing over to Shyon. "You read?" Banto asked, before quickly talking again, "Not that it's surprising, I just... didn't expect you to like books." Banto added. He did note that if Shyon had to read up on how to shoot, then perhaps it wouldn't be so terrible if Banto did some research of his own. At least about posture or how the bow worked, or something like that, anything to save his ear or fingers being punished. He nodded, prepared to keep going before Shyon checked on the injury. He was still as she examined it, offering a small smile, "I've felt much worse." He commented, eyes gazing forward, "It doesn't hurt all that much, just the shock, didn't expect a bow to hit back." Banto added, eyes back to Shyon with a small smile. "Shall I try again? I've got to say, it's fun to watch you try not to laugh at all this." Banto suggested, with a small chuckle, before pulling the bow back again, finding the right pose quicker this time, but he didn't dare let go just yet.

Shyon gave a look to Banto before giving a sigh. "Its not something I jump at the chance to do on a regular basis... My lifestyle doesn't really allow it. But If I ever find a free moment... I do like to immerse myself into Victor Prakhong volumes of books. And a few about our history." It wasn't something she did often, normally working to get some coin for a room or food, or helping people when she finds them... If not them, then she's out looking for some place to sleep that night. Once she deemed it alright and moved away from the injury, Shyon gave Banto a small nod as to continue, and a smile. "Well, a bow can be just as dangerous a physical weapon as it is a distance one if used correctly. And I don't get to do this sort of thing often. I'm usually hunting down Thieves and Bandits or finding some herb a healer needs, my help isn't usually one on one like this. Its refreshing to say the least." Which was depressing but true, Acta was really the only friend she had, and they barely spoke to the point Shyon even wondered if they could be considered friends, and even then she doubted their time together would be like this. "But hey, its the life I lead, and I'm trying not to seem insensitive, I know how difficult it is to learn these things, and when someone is being a critic and laughing it just makes things worse."

Banto smirked, for some reason he thought Shyon might be reading the work of Prakhong. He did a lot of study into alignment, he wrote about how sometimes the ones who took lives, or did things society frowned upon, were the ones with the most in depth feelings. He presented such a passion and understanding of those with darker lives that Banto had adored his work for a while, it helped him cope with the days when he thought the world was against him. He wondered, if Shyon sometimes wondered if she was doing bad things. Everyone has doubts about themselves, if they didn't, then they weren't really living, so he could understand if she did. Knowing what she'd read, made Banto look at Shyon slightly differently, a mix of respect to his eyes that were still somewhat cautious. Banto rubbed his ear a little after Shyon spoke, smiling warmly. "Glad I could help you with that then. A part of me always wants to be able to teach someone something. I don't have a lot of innate talent to give though, unfortunately." Banto replied. "Believe me, I'm used to being laughed at, my mother didn't care much about holding back if I mucked up her training, plus I guess I'm just used to being criticised. And I really don't mind it. Whenever my parents say I should try to do something better, I know it's because they want the best, and they want me to be the best I can be, try to prove others wrong, something like that." Banto lifted the bow, aiming another arrow, keeping his head well away as he fired it, grinning as it didn't immediately flop to the ground, but travelled a little first. "What do you do then? Other than stalk hated ex-murderers and hunting down others or what not?" Banto asked curiously.

Shyon gave a loot to Banto before sighing. "Book smarts are just as powerful as the physical, and if by what I have heard... You most certainly could teach people a lot of things one might not normally know with your extensive knowledge." God knows how Shyon wouldn't be able to distinguish between the herbs she was looking for all those times if not for the books or actually seeing them, whereas you mention it to Banto and he would probably know exactly where to find them. Shyon understood that way of teaching, but it didn't work on everyone, and it seemed perhaps this was one of those cases. "Best or not, sometimes the criticism doesn't actually work out... No matter what way you look at it." Shyon smiled as Banto seemed to begin to get the hang of, soon she would be able to have him aim for an actual target, it wasn't about physical strength using a bow and arrow, but confidence in abilities. But she froze when asked what she did... None had actually asked that before, nor did she really do anything but. "I literally just do that or work for some coin so I'm not living on the street that night or going hungry... I don't get time to do anything else, making up for past mistakes and all that..." Giving Banto a quick look, she knew she would have to elaborate. "I use to steal to get by, and hated that I did so, now I travel around making that right by helping others for nothing in return, or paying my way by working in the very shops I stole from..."

Book smarts were good, if Banto could only do something with them. He tried not to, but there were days when he wondered what the point of learning twenty different languages all in four different dialects was even useful for, he'd never get to use them out there in the real world. All of his knowledge needed to be shared, and so far, Banto could only do that with his parents. He'd long for a chance to find someone out there who knew as much as him, who'd read every study from Glass Bon-soile's collection and knew the first volume off by heart. Banto didn't think too much on those sorts of wishes, the world was horrible to him, he knew better than to expect to find a life out there. Banto smiled, "Guess I'm just used to negativity from others." Banto suggested. He took a few more shots as Shyon elaborated on her lifestyle, and he stopped to look at her with interest when she explained how she used to steal, and right now she was doing all she could to repay the debts she had for others, to try and amend her sins. It made Banto smile warmly. "Sounds like a good thing to do... Sorry if I offended you earlier then, thinking you were an assassin. But, I'm not used to visitors, at least not the kind who don't want my blood." Banto replied. He aimed another arrow, this time just seeing how long he could hold it steady. "Part of me wishes I could go out and find the people I hurt in my old life, I'd do anything to be forgiven."

Shyon gave Banto a look before morphing into a smile. "I guess I'm just use to negativity too. Its no problem, to be honest you weren't entirely off, technically I am one, but only to the bad guys, and I always do my homework before making a choice in case its someone's personal feud. And honestly, your the first I've opened up to in a while myself, so sorry if I made you think I was here to kill you... Normally when I turn up the way I did, I am sent to kill." She wouldn't lie about it, if only so that she could have Banto trust her more, knowing her motives behind things. Shyon had heard about the ones he once hurt, it was many... But mostly it was to those in the Saints? As she recalled, and a few others. "You know, if you ever feel up for it... I'm happy to accompany you on finding them, I'm sure I can ask questions, I know a couple who would know the answers... I could take you to apologise, show the world your different and protect you in the meantime..." The festival was coming up... It wouldn't be a bad time for them to meet... People around so they could be assured Banto would do nothing if they feared it, and Banto could show many he's changed. She wouldn't force it though. Paying attention once more to the lesson, Shyon gave a smile. "When you fire this time, just aim for the closest target, it doesn't matter where you hit it on the target, as long as it hits."

Banto smirked a little, "I've read enough stories on murder mysteries or adventures to know when a dark, hooded figure appears in your house unannounced, it's usually not just a friendly visit. So it's fine, I'm just glad you weren't really there to kill me. One, because I don't really want to die, and two, I got to meet you. I never expected it to be so... refreshing, to meet someone else who wasn't living under the same roof as me." Banto replied. He'd only ever felt that refreshing joy of meeting someone new once before, with Art and Marzzi. But, meeting them, being their friends, it didn't end well. For a moment, Banto looked hopeful, a sparkle to his eye, but it soon dropped down to a realistic level. "I would love to see the world, more than anything. Books only describe it so much... But... The last time I left this house with a friend it didn't end well." Banto said, before sighing. "Post-traumatic stress disorder is unfortunately a thing, it might sound silly at times, but every time I think over going out there, I... remember." He explained. He appreciated going back to learning, it was a good distraction for him, perhaps why Banto read so much and forced so much information into his head. He did try to aim, and it did hit, the very bottom of the target, but the arrow still sunk in, and Banto smiled a little.

Friend... That's something she didn't think she would ever be called out loud, or even actually have as something proper instead of just assumptions. And she was glad her visit didn't end badly, she knew her look often put people off, but it was the only one she had ever known, and she hated to be uncovered around those she didn't know, or have under her grasp, so Banto is very privileged right now to be so close she allows it. Giving the other a small smile, Shyon knew the perfect alternative for now. "Then let me prove to you things can be different this time. Next training in two days, I take you to the Rycora forest, up high so you can see people coming... But far enough away that it shouldn't happen and your hidden, you get to see some of the world, and I can get you comfortable with it up until the festival where you may change your mind. Besides, it doesn't just have to be us... You can invite those you live with... I'm assuming Yume is your mother, making Gensho your father?" Giving a small clap as the arrow hit, Shy gave a pat on the back. "See, your already getting better, now aim a little higher and try to get the middle of the target."
