Note: A lot of un-established content will be included in this intro, don't you worry The loss of control had come so quickly onto Jasper, it was like dropping a rock from a cliff down to the dark depths below. He didn't even have a chance to catch it, before he knew it, all control and hope had been lost to the leader. It started with the attack on the Mun clan. Jasper had ignited a blood-lust in the others. By demonstrating how it was alright to gain revenge, and do it in a dark and malicious manner, Jasper had no say on the matter, yet again. The plans had gone well, until it was discovered that the clan was ready. Their leader exposed his true nature, killing many. Then, from their own ranks, Banto set off a trap he'd kept secret, transporting heavy amounts of explosives into the core of the clan, completely disintegrating it, and everyone inside. Banto had killed off the monstrous leader, but he'd also splattered the blood of allies as well. It had been the final straw for Jasper. He'd tried to exile Banto himself, but had been put off by another event. It seemed in the rage of losing more friends, Marzzi had attempted to seek out his nemesis, the Dream Angel, Yume for a fight to the death. He'd almost died at her hands, and the hands of her Kyuban companion. Gensho had almost taken one of Jasper's closest friends from him, but Banto and Havok had stepped in, in time to save Marzzi, and drive off the Angel and Demon with a good few injuries inflicted. The Kyuban still lived, so revenge for all the fallen hadn't been served yet, but to the others, Banto had done something to redeem himself. And it certainly seemed that way to the council as well. Jasper had demanded an audience with them, telling them of all of Banto's crimes, and why he shouldn't be trusted as a Saint anymore. But, rather than accept Jasper's account on the matter, they demanded something of the leader instead. Claiming that Jasper was doing nothing to earn his title, they requested he made a good image of himself, and rid them of the Demon King. When Jasper hesitated, the council brought up a reminder for Jasper. Plans to burn Minato to the ground, under the image that it was to exterminate the many Demons that festered their, and worth the sacrifices of Human lives. Minato, included Jasper's... his mother's home. Feeling nauseous, Jasper reluctantly agreed, and started the hunt immediately. He wanted no one else involved, not even Hino or the recovering Marzzi. This was something Jasper would do on his own. Using the cursed wings on his back, the Saint flew into the skies over Rycora, searching for any hint of Demonic activity. He used his enhanced vision, looking through every tree and rock to find the King. One Demon amongst many, and yet the Jasper still succeeded. Jasper pulled out a firearm, a simple pistol, one of Marzzi's favourite babies. Whilst the weapons-master was recovering, he'd given it to Jasper to look after and put to work. Jasper set off some warning shots, the explosive rounded echoed through the trees. They didn't threaten the target, only get his attention on the flying Saint.

So much... Too much had happened in such a short amount of time, that it was difficult to keep up with it all. First his kids, then the Mun Clan, he had word of a few others... God knows what sort of state Kaku was in right now. Ru tried to kill as few as possible, he hated all the death being spread around, going as far to only knock most out, he could tell all the anger and hatred was being controlled by something more, he couldn't work out what though, and every bit of anger he had, he tried to control. If the Humans believed him to be the bad guy, he was damn well going to prove them that he was on their side, and that this war was pointless to begin with, even with all that was lost dear to him. It was even harder once he heard of Jaspers hunt for him from Thyrea, the child having spent her time hiding and finding out information that will help them, without her, most of his kind would have been dead by now. He knew it was the councils doing, though he didn't know what they threatened his newly acquainted nephew with, but he knew Jasper would not do this out of his own accord. Rurushu had quickly ran to a more isolated area, the old caves of Rycora, if only to talk to Jasper first, before giving a half hearted fight for his life, because Ru knew he would not be able to give his all, not at Jasper, for any reason. The gun shots were a shock, but only for a second, knowing that they were for show, if Jasper wanted him dead for real, then was the time to do so, and he knew what was to come next. "Hello Jasper. I hope you don't mind my spot for this to take place, I felt as if isolation may be easier for you. My wings are most certainly going to make a stunning display in the tower don't you think." Make things as easy on Jasper as possible, show no fear. "Just make sure the rest of me makes it back to Kaku, I want him to remember my beautiful face by turning me to stone." Ru gave a small chuckle, the joking helped, made him remember the good times.

This felt like the beginning of the end. It was clear the thirst for power was leading those in charge to no longer care what side they were on. They wanted blood, be it Angel, Demon or Human. Jasper was just a sword that they wielded, he couldn't stop the waves of hate, he helped to cause them without a choice. He'd kill Ru today, then the King of Angels would follow, no doubt after raining down his anguish on all Humans, perhaps denting their numbers before his demise. Then, after the flying races were killed, Humans would turn on one another, they'd desire the blood of those who didn't side with them, who didn't slaughter mercilessly. Power and praise would be given to the barbarians and murderers, and death and poverty would be the reward of those who tried to act just.
Even though Jasper knew how this story would end, he couldn't stop it from being read. Jasper was so powerless, a shell of leadership that inside, was so frail and dying. In fact, even now Jasper began to draw tears as well as his sword, landing down as he saw Ru stop and wait for him. This are was so quiet, far from the Temple and any civilisation, and Jasper knew the reason why. Ru seemed so light-hearted, making jokes about what he knew was coming. Jasper's blade oozed with the sickly black curse, his wings dissolving into the ground and being channelled into the blade. Jasper swallowed hard. "None of this. I didn't want any of it." Jasper muttered. He glanced towards this sword, "I always wanted to make peace, do good. But, I'm just a cursed weapon, I... have no power at all... I'm, so sorry, Rurushu." Jasper added, bracing his sword ready, his wrists flaring with the dark patterns of his enhancement curse. "I just hope this curse kills me, before... mother finds out what I've done." Jasper mumbled, before jumping forward. All of his strikes would be executional, aimed to kill quickly. He used one hand, making the strikes weaker, but Jasper needed his hand for casting curses, one of which Jasper planned on using to end this quickly, as soon as he could get a grip on Ru.

Ru looked to Jasper, sympathy at the forefront of his eyes. "I know. I know that more then anything Jasper. I do not blame you for this. And people need you Jasper, you have more power then you think. They listen to you, they trust you, and I know that whatever you decide after today will be the right thing." Ru dodged the first few attacks, before reeling back far enough to say one last thing. Unsheathing his own weapon, Ru took a second to look at it, before swinging it around so the hilt was aimed at Jasper. "Nanari cant lose both of us. And I refuse to let your curses kill you, not fighting me. If you can give me this last thing. Fight with my sword, leave behind your magic and rely on your skill, I will remain weapon less, but I refuse to let you injure yourself further because your fighting me." Ru waited until Jasper made his choice, before slinking into the shadows and turned up behind him, a little further away for the real battle to begin. Rurushu knew more then anything that he would not be able to kill Jasper here today, nor ever, he was family now. But that didn't mean he wasn't going to give Jasper the easy kill, if only to help his conscience. "Are you ready Jasper?"

Jasper was a weapon built to fight of Demons and Angels. He could match their speeds, strengths, and now even their flight. Perhaps that was what made him such a target for the council to use as they did. All the boy could think of was what his life would have been like, if all those years ago, his father hadn't cursed Jasper. If Jasper had never been handed over to a Demon to be raised like a toy. All of his life would have been different. And perhaps... perhaps a war like this wouldn't have occurred, the Saints wouldn't have been formed. Jasper rushed forward, whatever tears formed in his eyes were pushed back with the wind. A few slashes hit nothing, the Demon King earning his title through prowess, easily dodging the attacks, moving away to do something else. Jasper watched Ru draw his sword, then hand it towards the leader. Fist clenching around his sword as Jasper listened, he sniffed a bit, rubbing his stinging eyes before nodding very subtly. Hand out, Jasper let his grasp on his cursed sword go, watching the obsidian black weapon clattered onto the dry earth, the black ooze dissipating as it lost it's curse. Slowly Jasper took the new sword, so simple and plain. But to Jasper it seemed holy, a weapon untouchable by his sickening powers. It would make this fight fair, so long as Ru could fight without a weapon. But he was a leader of his own people, as Jasper looked up, Ru had disappeared into the shadows, appearing behind Jasper. The boy quickly turned around, sword ready, this time placing both hands over the hilt. He'd honour Ru to a battle without curses, other than those permanently flowing through his blood and marking his body. He'd not use the deadly curse he'd planned to use, this would be a battle worthy for such a respectable King like Rurushu. Lips quivering just a little, some resolve took over Jasper's features at last. "Ready." He answered, going forwards for the first strike of this new battle.
---------
The fight wasn't easy, both were agile enough. But Jasper got the idea that Ru wasn't fighting to win or harm him. He knew this was Jasper's fight to win, which made every swing more heavy. Jasper didn't want to kill either, which made the fight seemed painfully slow, a few quick movements from them both, before retreating away. Things had to end though, Jasper knew he couldn't let Ru live, let the council burn down a city for punishment. So he went for a stronger swing, though as he did, something in Jasper's stomach turned. His heart seemed to pulse heavily, like rocks were churning inside of it, and the boy coughed up blood, legs weakening as Jasper stopped his attack to drop to the floor, a hand over his mouth as his fragile life-energy shook his whole system.

The battled seemed long, if only because this was a friend he was fighting, and while Ru was not in this fight with the intent to kill, and he could see that Jasper knew it too, Ru made sure that he held his own for a while, proving that he had the ability to defend, that his ruling wasn't in vain. And while to only one to prove this to was Jasper, Ru knew the other wouldn't leave that to die, and would make sure others know of it. Ru hoped that once his death spread around, Gensho would do as asked when he first went into power, and take over ruling, either until he found a new king himself, or Kaku did, Rurushu trusting both to make the right choices. Watching Jasper fall to the ground in pain, Ru froze with his attack, letting the magic disperse, now was not the time to play unfairly. Walking over slowly to his nephew, Ru leant down next to him, hovering a hand over his shoulder. "Jasper, you alright?" Rurushu knew curse magic was always in his system, and feared that it was taking him long before his time, Jasper still had too much to live for, to do, and Ru hoped it wasn't this curse that took him, as Jasper deserved to go out with fire blazing in the background, not from some unfortunate event.

It felt like being burned by his own curse, the skin on Jasper's back burnt into his flesh through this episode of pain. He almost expected Ru to finish him, part of Jasper mentally begged him to. If Ru didn't do so now, then Jasper would surely die soon enough anyway. It was clear from how much they effected Jasper that these waves of pain would soon take him. He heard the muffled voice of Ru moving over to help, Jasper attempted to move away, instinctively since this was a battlefield, and Jasper still had his burning curse to think about. But his body was locked stiff, Jasper trying to clear his throat of blood just to breath right now. Unable to say no, Jasper simply shook his head, getting a few gasps of air at last. The pain seemed to fog his thoughts, Jasper only say pain, and the whispered words of his order. He needed to kill Ru, get out of here, hide in a corner and die slowly. Knowing his mother was safe, knowing even as a cold-hearted killer, there was nothing else Jasper could do to hurt her or anyone else. Ru's life, for everyone else's. So, without truly thinking, Jasper forced his body to move, using the dark curse that boosted his physical strength to make him rise, sword lifted, and then thrust it forwards to push right through Ru's chest. It wasn't well aimed, to the side of the Demon King, rather than anywhere immediately fatal. But it still impacted. Jasper kept the blade there for a moment before retracting it, himself wheezing for breath. As the wave ended, and Jasper's mind cleared, he blinked a few times, watching Ru fall, and realising what he'd done. This shouldn't be such a shock to Jasper, it was just his duty. But Ru wasn't killed yet, Jasper needed to inflict a more mortal wound. So, with the acidic blood still dripping from his sword, Jasper prepared to impale the King again. Though the point barely touched Ru, Jasper pulled it back just before, only able to picture the disappointment Nanari would feel. More than disappointment, the terror she'd feel knowing what Jasper had done. No, he couldn't do it, even knowing he himself would die soon after killing Ru. Dropping his gaze, and the sword, Jasper retreated a few feet. "I... I can't. I'm sorry." He mumbled, apologising to many, Ru, his mother for what might happen now, to anyone Jasper had hurt because of his weakness. He turned, summoning the black cursed wings from his back and taking to the skies.

Note: Khan is NPC in this reply. The way this is working, you shall not see what happened to Ru, but later... Much later down the line, you will find out exactly what went down. xxxx
Ru refused to show pain when the sword impaled his chest, he wouldn't put more guilt onto Jasper if he could help it, and while it hurt more then anything else he had felt, this was the only time he ever really held out against the effects of pain. Sinking to his knees, Ru looked up to Jasper, forgiveness in his eyes, before closing them ready for impact, surprised to hear the words from Jasper instead. He never opened his eyes until the other left, fearing what he might see, but once he did. That's when the pained scream let loose, and a dark chuckle came from behind. "Oh how the strong become weak in light of family and friends. Its both sickening and highly amusing. Don't you think? Demon King? And how its such a shame he didn't kill you off then, quick and easy, what I have planned for you... Oh, how I'm going to be thanking Jasper for this later." Ru let out another scream as the voice, Khan thrust a hand into his gaping chest, he was wrong this was the worst pain he had ever felt before.
(Dun Dun Dun! Oh what has Khan got up his sleeve, wouldn't ya'll like to know. )
When Ru came to it, his eyes were slow to adjust, but when they did, all he noticed was the blinding pain he felt all over, and the lone figure running in the distance, turning back to give one final smirk before completely disappearing. Rurushu let out groans of pain, body screaming at every breath he took. Every move he made. But he still found the strength to stand, body slowly doing as asked and tumbling to the nearest civilisation of Minato, he knew he wouldn't survive these wounds. Healing ability or not, he didn't even believe Nanari would have the strength to do so. But if he was going down, then he was damn well going to see his husband one last time, making sure the other did nothing stupid because of him.

Nanari had felt happy after seeing Onrah again, and while she it was the final time, it was a happy goodbye, rather then the last, she would miss the little skull, but knew it was a fair sacrifice for those last moments. But that happiness didn't last for long as she got back to work helping the others in the war, heading out and healing whomever she could, the wounds getting worse and more frequent, on every front. Nanari could feel the exhaustion from it all, and even went as far to dealing with most wounds manually again. But what she found on the boarders of Minato, was much. Much worse. "RURU!?" Rushing over, Nanari checked her brother, tears pouring out her eyes, just looking at him told her everything she needed to know, pressing her hands down on his chest, the wound that looked the worst, Nanari tried using her magic to help, but came up blank. "Oh god, no, no, no, no. Ru... Come on, please. No." So much blood, Nanari could feel herself shaking, muttering over and over again as the blood was soaked up by anything it could find. She didn't have the strength to help him. "I cant, I'm so sorry. I don't have the energy or power. Oh god. Ruru..."

The world was starting to feel cold to Kakushin. He'd long tired of these Human lands, once a vibrant change of pace for the King, now a rotting graveyard full of filth that the King no longer wanted to deal with. He wanted this fighting to stop, but it never would, and the conflict in his heart was wearing Kaku down thin. His children no longer wanted to leave, so it seemed. Angels were dying, Yume injured, Ningen in hiding... And Ikiru. Kakushin felt horror hit him hard to see his brother dead, body formed into that of a monster, that the King had neglected to think about during these long hard years. Ikiru, he could have been saved, if only Kaku had done better. Many things could have been changed if Kakushin had done better. But here the world stood, burning with revenge and hatred, and Kakushin was just another flame, a part of the universal fires that would soon engulf everything, turning all into ash. The only one that didn't burn to Kakushin was Rurushu. Still trying so hard to make things right, not kill, make sure Kakushin remained on the same page, stopping him from bring harm to anyone who passed. Kaku was sure the moment he no longer had Ru, was the moment he'd give in to the desire to watch this world burn, just like his precious world had done. Things weren't right, nothing was right usually, but today more than ever Kakushin felt restless. He went to find Ru, to ease some of his constant worries by spending whatever short time he could find with his husband. But finding the Demon King nowhere made Kaku's mind blur red even more, if anyone had brought harm to his love, then Kakushin would know boundary, or hesitation. He landed close to Minato, hearing a sound of crying, close by. And then a smell hit Kakushin's nose, a strong and potent smell of acidic, coppery blood. His heart seemed to drop straight out of the King, and Kakushin left it there on the floor as he ran to the scene, seeing Nanari just ahead of him, crying and wailing over someone's body. Kaku's vision went completely red, like the blood that encompassed almost all of Ru's body. Tears falling whether he wanted them to or not, Kakushin gritted his teeth together, refusing to take a step closer. His mind refused to believe this was true, he blocked the utter horror of seeing his husband dying, and replaced it with pure hatred, at whoever did this. Kakushin didn't care for proof, he knew who he planned to blame, and who he'd hunt down. "They'll pay... the filth, I'll kill them all for what they've done to you... to me." Kakushin growled, his voice barely audible. But the sound-breaking noise of Kakushin's powerful wings beating aggressively against the ground was far louder, and in a flash of smoke and white light, he'd left the scene quickly, throat clenched and chocking, and not one part of the King's body not fuelled by the sheer desire to kill.

Chester barely had left Akvan's side once Onrah helped to rescue him, making sure her love was well rested and healed before anything more, the only time she ever did was to repay her debt to the reason Akvan was alive right now, back with the blood, and those moments were far and few between each visit, but exhausting none the less. But eventually, Akvan had to go back, knowing what might become for keeping him too long, but with a heartfelt goodbye, and see you again, Chester felt a little lighter then all the other times he left, maybe due to Onrah's visit, or because she trusted Akvan fully not to have anything stupid happen to him this time, she didn't know. But the war had gotten worse, much worse, and she found herself either helping Nanari with the bodies, or stuck in a fight she didn't want. It didn't help that she could feel something bad on the horizon, a burning in her chest at the very thought. Currently she was looking for her sister, Nanari exhausting herself with healing and all the death around her, Chester was planning to drag her away to recover, people could last one day without their main healer, besides, Chester wasn't about to let Nanari die from helping everyone. She never expected to find Ru as he was, never expected the anger from Kaku or the broken sister who for once, didn't know what to do. Chester's eyes widened in fear, she knew that look from Nanari, her sister was losing herself in bad memories, and as much as she wished to help, all Chester could see was Ru's condition. "Oh god!" Rushing over, Chester cradled Ru to her chest, tears falling. "Don't you dare die on us Ru, I cant... I cant lose someone else... Nanari cant lose you again.... Kaku, your kids.... Please brother. Gods." Chester looked to Nanari, hoping maybe, just maybe she knew what to do, how she could help.

Notes: This will be the final reply, but has many different characters involved. Many Human NPC's, however, Ru and Chester will be speaking within as well, main bulk is Nanari's POV, but NPC Nicolas will have a small amount, hope that makes sense. Now, on with the show chaps. Xxx
Nanari looked to Chester as she arrived, her body having shut down in the few moments Kaku was here. She couldn't deal with all this blood, not from her own brother, not again. She lost him once, and there was little she could do now, and this time, she had the ability to help him, so it was a thousand times worse. Nanari could feel her whole body begin to shake as she took calming breaths, listening to Chester's cries. She hadn't had an episode in so long, too many friends and family around to let it be triggered, but here and now, she could feel the begin of her panic to set in. Nanari wasn't afraid to admit she jumped out of her skin when Ru grabbed hold of her hand weakly, in a small last ditch effort to comfort her from the darkness... Typical of him, he's the one dying and he's still acting as the big brother, if Chester slight jump was to go by as well. "Don't..... Wo-Worry. St-st-stay s-s-s-safe." It brought on a whole new set of tears at his words and voice, like Ru already resigned himself to being dead, long before Nanari got here... He probably had. Looking to Chester, Nanari gave a sad smile. "There's nothing I can do..." Nanari buried her head into her brothers chest and cried, while she reached over to Chester to help comfort her sister, but that was short lived when the smell of smoke hit, and both looked to Minato to see it be lit up in flames. The screams could be heard from miles away, and as scared as Nanari was for her home and its occupants, she knew everyone there would be alright, working together to help, all her feline friends doing what they can to help. "The totem... Nanari, we can use the totem." Nanari whipped her head towards Chester as she spoke, before realisation settled in. That was true, and despite the initial plan to leave it with the cats, Nanari had kept it on her for such an emergency. Reaching into her bag, she took hold of the little trinket, before holding it above Ru, just as the screams got louder, flames danced pass, and a weak arm shot up to stop her. "Sisters... No. help... Help the p-p-people o-of Mi-Minato. I'll be f-f-fine. Gah!" Both Chester and Nanari shook, as Ru's arm dropped and his eyes closed. If they didn't use it now he would be dead within moments, they were already cutting it close, but both looked to each other in resignation, before nodding in understanding on what they must do.
Nicolas watched and listened to the Demon Kings final words from his hiding spot within the trees, dagger dropping at the last words said. As leader of the Human rebels against the races and the saints methods, he made a promise to kill all those against the fight, and all those who were not like them. But when watching the Demon Kings sister stand, the healer, Nanari moving from her brother, and absorbing ungodly power, he couldn't do it. He felt the wounds of his fights, and could see in the distance many stop and look to their burn wounds as they healed. Nicolas knew what was happening, what the Demon King wished for, and he knew it meant the other would die. Any other circumstances, he wouldn't hesitate for the clean cut kill, but something snapped within him, as he looked to the army behind, as they fled Minato, telling tales on exactly who torched the town. And watching as the healer stopped, and knelt back down, both females, one human, one Demon whisper calming words to the Dying King. Nicolas knew what to do.
Jumping from his spot, he dropped the dagger, looking to both parties, the eyes of the surprised girls, and the eyes of his comrades in arms, all with the same understanding look, and he knew without saying anything that they felt the same. "MEN. WOMAN. FIGHTERS. This war has gone on too long. Here we have witnessed our enemy save our people, with no regard for himself. And we have seen what our supposed leaders have done, burning down a town, one of our own. I see now what we have been fighting for wasn't for our freedom, but the councils dirty work for their power. I SAY NO MORE. I am don't with this war, now is the time to amend what we have done. Give back what the Demon King and his family here has given us. WHO'S WITH ME?" "Aye!" Nicolas nodded to the two females, giving a smile as he knelt down next to the Demon King, checking over his wounds. "Find any healers in the near area, any herbs and medicines, whatever you can salvage... I will not lose another man today, be it Human, Angel or Demon." Nicolas watched as his troops, once enemies of the races, now fight to keep another alive. Smiling at how simple a change in heart could be thanks to the kindness of one man, and even if trust was something to rebuild, a new understanding and change to come... These were the ones to start this rebuild in bonds. It felt like the weight of the world was suddenly off his shoulders. A new beginning arising.
Nanari and Chester watched as the Humans got to work, most having come out of hiding, Nicolas, their leader controlling it all. Nanari was reluctant to trust them, but she knew deep down they were doing this for the right reasons, and they meant what they said, many already spreading the word of what had happened. She barely flinched when many picked up Ru to move him somewhere safer, back to their camp out in the forest as they helped him. Many warned bother her and Chester there was little they could do, and not have too much hope. But she had enough to know that whatever the outcome of this was, she should be happy. Ru would want her to be, would want everyone to be, especially now seeing just how many were helping him, ones they once classed as their enemy. Nanari held tight onto Chester hand, as both were herded off for rest, being promised to be notified of any changes and words about the future of this war, it seemed so distant now, and she knew if Ruru really did die now, his sacrifice would not be in vain.
