Akvan stood at the archway, the swamp knowing in his heart that silence was what Akvan needed right now. There was no taking back the last two hours, and that wasn't for a good reason. In honesty, Akvan almost wished he'd not come out of Purgatory, because all he'd done was give the others bad news after bad news. Telling them how he couldn't stay long, and of the long fights to come. And then, the news of the child, his child. It had gone. Stress or some sort of factor meant Chester had lost it, as the Sun child couldn't see anything alive inside of her anymore. Akvan's heart felt caught in sharp wires, every beat seemed to cause him pain, and he just didn't have much spirit left to go into Purgatory right now. But, there was one hope, that even now warmed Akvan's hand up. He glanced down to the sword, remembering just moments ago when he'd taken flight back to the archway:
Akvan had flown fast, but that urgency he'd possessed before was gone. He was broken, knowing how he'd left Chester feeling, and he himself felt. All those hopes they'd shared together had turned into joys, but now it was all lost. Akvan rubbed his eyes again, though there was no stopping the tears. He wanted to regain focus for the fighting, but there was nothing Akvan could do to bring himself back up. "Oi! Where do you think your goin'?" Came a voice from below. Akvan slowed to a stop, to look down. He caught a glimpse of something gold, before something then hit his back. It clung onto the Sun child, dragging down onto the ground. Akvan knew who it was when he looked down to the golden gauntlet clinging onto him, and brought a weak smile onto his face. Akvan was gently placed down, and he turned to look at Hada. "Sister, y-you're alright." Akvan muttered. Hada removed her armour magic, her face folded into a frown before forcing Akvan into a tight hug. "Of course I am, you idiot, what about you, where've you been hidin'?" She asked. Akvan sighed, ignoring time now to explain to his sister the whole situation. He'd honestly never seen Hada so quiet, especially when he said he had to go away again. Akvan had to explain about the baby as well, and Hada gave him another hug. "I... suppose it's for the best." She said, "Because, you're away right now, in dangerous situations. Plus, there's kinda a big war going on right now. A little baby won't wanna be raised in a time like this. I think, yeah, it's for the best. Because now you can fight to the fullest, so you can one day come back for good and have that family, right?" Hada added. Akvan looked to his sister, before almost scoffing. This might be the smartest thing she'd ever said. Though, the small laugh made Akvan's emotions break loose, and he let go of the wanted cry he'd held back earlier. Hada was there to support, until Akvan relaxed after a few minutes. "I have to g-go, Hada." He mumbled. She nodded, her face a little saddened by seeing her brother leave like this. After a pause, in which Akvan didn't know if Hada was going to reply or not, she finally unsheathed her sword. "Here, take Joyeux." Hada stated, holding out the golden-edged sword to Akvan. Akvan went to protest, but Hada put a hand up. "Nope, you're takin' him with you. Joyeux is a legendary sword, much better than the crappy, mist ones you make, he'll help you survive, for sure." Hada added, and eventually Akvan took the sword. He thanked her again, giving Hada a lasting hug before taking towards the swamp.
It wasn't much, but the sword was Akvan's new hope. It was something from the living world to keep, and to remind Akvan of what Hada said. Keep fighting to his fullest, to be able to come back and have that family he always wanted. So, taking a deep breath, Akvan stepped through the gate to Purgatory. Nothing changed around him, but like it was a string being cut, all sound vanished, and Akvan was in this dead land once again.

Two hours was a perfect time for Akvan to get just enough rest to be ready to fight, and just little enough time to barely recover mentally. That was what Shinda was hoping for, anyway. And in those couple of hours, Shinda stayed put, sniffing and wandering around the swamp lands, thinking back to memories or thinking up possible ideas. He needed to show Akvan that he was wrong, that the Devil had a plan beyond fighting him. Shinda brought Akvan here to fight him for as long as necessary, and eventually kill him. The war going on outside would fix the world, so Shinda didn't have to watch it slowly decay into a sorry state from Purgatory. But, what was the plan beyond that?Shinda got up on two legs, making a few clicking noises as he thought. Shinda would look for a way out of this place, obviously. But, that was the obvious answer, and it was one Shinda had already proven as impossible. He'd searched every corner of this world, looked as deep inside of himself as possible, and tried every method. Sure, Shinda could send his spirit out into the living world, but his body, it was anchored to Purgatory. Shinda wandered towards a water source, not to drink, but to stare down at himself. "Still so weak, you'll always be fucking weak. It's their fault." He muttered to himself. He'd caved in and let Akvan leave, after refusing to let the brat go, a part of Shinda had weakened. He was still fighting to stop that part of his heart from working, it made him weak. It made Shinda cry once, and shattered his world, and he'd promised himself to never rely on it again since that day. Shinda looked at one of his claws, clenching it with a determined growl. This time, he'd keep Akvan here for as long as necessary, prove the Sun brat wrong, and make sure he knew Shinda was the embodiment of evil, something to fear as well as fight.
After setting his personal goals, Shinda felt a change in the air, and purred a little as he turned around with excitement. He placed a smirk on his face, seeing Akvan now just how he'd wanted him to be. Akvan looked a little rested, but was probably more depressed than before. "Did you have fun, Sun shit?" Shinda asked politely, glancing down to the sword Akvan carried with him. Joyeux, he didn't expect to see that sword again. It brought a flicker of anger with Shinda's memory of the golden blade, and he almost went to brush a hand across the vertical scar on his face. But Shinda contained his emotions, ignoring the sword and focusing on Akvan. Shinda tilted his head, "You were the bringer of bad news, weren't you?" He asked with a hiss, knowing that at some point at least Akvan had to explain how he needed to leave. Of course that was the only part of the context Shinda was aware of. "Such a fucking shame, but whatever, you won't see them again, so what?" Shinda growled, threat hanging in the air for a moment, as usual waiting to see if Akvan's rage will make him take the first move.

Shinda showed himself as soon as Akvan looked up, clearly not going for surprise attacks anymore. They were Shinda's speciality, but seemed to work better when Akvan wasn't ready to fight. Right now, Akvan was very much aware of what was going on, so Shinda simply stood a few paces from the portal waiting. He gave Shinda glare, planning to give the Devil no pleasure right now by giving into his games, or even talking. Akvan just twisted Joyeux around in his hand, feeling the weight of the blade, and thinking over his first move. He gave Shinda no response to the first question, but then Akvan's expression did finally change. Shinda seemed to know that Akvan had brought bad news to the others. And then he spoke some more, and Akvan's look faded into shock as he realised something. Of course Shinda let him go, because the Devil knew exactly what had happened, and wanted Akvan to find out to crush the Sun child further. Shinda knew about the baby being lost, and he'd pretended to give Akvan time for that reason. Akvan's hand clenched around Joyeux, and he ran forwards to Shinda, slashing it horizontally. "You knew, didn't you?!" Akvan demanded of the Devil. Shinda dodged, looking a little confused by the accusation. "You knew that we'd... that m-my child was lost, didn't you?" Akvan asked further. Shinda played dumb some more, which only got Akvan more furious. Shinda used his tail to block the sword's strikes, but unlike Akvan's other blades, Joyeux didn't falter when Shinda struck it, it remained true, until the sword cut past Shinda's arm, in between the armoured plates.

Shinda expected to get Akvan's anger flowing, but he'd not expected to reach a breaking point, and cause Akvan to start demanding answers. The Devil frowned as he dodged the first strike, feeling a little cautious of Joyeux's power as he moved away from it's reach. Then, Akvan said something about a child. Shinda had no idea what Akvan was on about, what he'd seen when out in the living world, or this child business. Shinda's jaws opened to retort, but Akvan was determined to get a good strike in. As Shinda's caution had been for good reason, Joyeux wasn't deterred by the Devil's defence. It cut into his arm, ignorant of Shinda's armour, and caused him to hiss from the pain. Getting his patience dried up, Shinda slammed his tail towards Akvan's exposed neck, catching the Sun child between the two spikes so he wasn't cut, but was caught. Shinda pushed his tail into the ground, Akvan forced down between the points. "What the fuck are you even on about?" Shinda growled, "A child?" Shinda didn't know Sun child could even have those. Let alone in a time like this one, when only the pathetic Humans for some reason had the right towards producing children. Shinda shook his head some more, moving forwards to press one clawed foot down over Akvan's sword arm, and the other forcing down on his chest. "I didn't even know you fuckers could have those, but thanks for the update." Shinda replied, relishing now in Akvan's anger, now that he knew the reason for it. Still, it was almost troubling to think that beyond Akvan, there could one day be more Sun children. Shinda paused, feeling the little brat struggle underneath him, thinking on this whole children thing. To be honest, young were still a weak spot on Shinda, even into the war, Shinda had cared deeply for the young around him. Even after losing the chance to have his own family. "Hmph, an unfortunate loss, but shit happens, get over it." Shinda finally said, and despite his harsh words, Akvan seemed a little taken back by the fact that Shinda showed some sort of care for the situation. Suddenly, Shinda jumped back, freeing Akvan from his tail, and watching the Sun child from afar. "I let you leave, now, you better have some fucking willpower, Sun shit. You want to fight me?"

Akvan wasn't sure if he could believe it that Shinda really didn't know. But, why would he? Akvan was forced down, choking back on the pressure around his neck, and when Shinda stepped down on him. He also couldn't strike again, knowing now at least that Joyeux was the blade for fighting Shinda with, seeing how it had finally pierced the Devil's defences. Akvan was stuck on the ground, glaring up at Shinda as he insisted that he didn't know. "Y-you're... a b-bastard, Shinda." Akvan muttered when Shinda seemed so indifferent, and cared only that the child was information to him. But, then he said what was almost a sympathetic comment. The loss was 'unfortunate', and Akvan's glare faded. He was left confused by Shinda's feelings, even when the Devil freed him to move away. Yes, the loss was horrible, and it would take a while to recover from. But, Akvan had a new hope, that his sister had given him. That, they'd proven it was possible to have a family, all Akvan needed to do now was survive these fights, kill Shinda, and start a proper life with Chester. He pulled himself to his feet, glancing down to the ring on his finger. She'd wanted a family for so long, and Akvan was going to make sure Chester got that. Shinda asked Akvan for his resolve, and his will to fight, and Akvan almost smiled. "Y-yes... but I want to d-do more than fight you, I-I want to kill you." Akvan replied, not giving Shinda his exact reason for wanting so. Instead he sent shadows of his Sun magic forward to attack Shinda, trying to get the Devil into long range battle, where Akvan was superior for once. Shinda blocked the attacks with his own Oblivia versions, rushing around the swamp with his Demonic speed. "Kill me huh? Not at that fucking level." Shinda commented, countering Akvan's magic with his own strike from the shadows. Akvan jumped over the rush of red magic, charging up a Flamma bomb to sent towards Shinda. The explosion of golden flames went off, but Shinda simply ran through them, unscathed. Now he'd gotten close to Akvan, close enough to avoid being cut by Joyeux, and to land his claws into Akvan's shoulder. The claws went deep, if aimed at Akvan's throat or heart, they'd do fatal damage. And Akvan wasn't sure why Shinda didn't aim to kill, like Akvan was trying to do. But, Shinda soon answered Akvan's thoughts. "We'll see what we can do about that shitty strength of yours, you'll never lay more than a fucking scratch on me as you are... I don't plan on letting you fucking kill me, but at least give me a challenge, Sun shit." Shinda commented, moving his claws around inside the Sun child's shoulder for extra damage, before throwing Akvan to the side. Akvan set healing magic on his wound, whilst watching Shinda stand and watch, waiting for another move to dodge. Was this really just a game for Shinda, to keep him from getting bored? Did he not care about staying alive or killing Akvan? The Sun child didn't know if he'd ever understand Shinda's mind, but he did know that he'd need to get stronger during these fights if he wanted to truly end this Devil and his torment.

It wasn't clear why, but Shinda found the idea of being killed as thrilling, more thrilling than simply fighting a pathetic, moaning wimp who only fought to stay alive. Shinda didn't want to die, if he wasn't already dead, as somewhere in his mind he had plans. What those plans were, Shinda wasn't going to explain, and secretly himself, he had no idea. Perhaps being stuck in this thousand year grave made Shinda determined to cling onto his crappy existence for as long as possible. But that didn't mean he couldn't have fun by making the threat of death more imposing. So he thought of an excellent game to begin with Akvan, beyond just beating up the Sun child over and over again for sport. If Akvan actually posed as a proper challenge, then Shinda might be more amused. If the Sun brat really believed they were already on equal powers, then he was really kidding himself. Shinda watched Akvan's eyes for a sign, of rage or determination. He looked mostly confused, which was annoying, but Shinda knew in time that confusion would disappear. If Shinda had his way, Akvan wouldn't ever be confused again, Shinda would force every emotion possible out of the brat. ~~~~~~~ Results were finally being formed. And, even Shinda himself had lost track of time. He blamed Akvan mostly, since at some point, the Sun child had decided to run rather than fight, and Shinda had spent weeks searching all over the vast lands of Purgatory for him. Just before Akvan ran off, Shinda had struck him hard. A poisoned cut to the side, and an almost fatal scratch along Akvan's throat. The latter had been an accident, Shinda's target moving before he'd landed the attack. Shinda had let the little rat run off at first, assuming he'd gone to heal up and continue. But, Akvan seemed to be following some sort of elusive plan. Whilst it kept Shinda busy just looking for him, the Devil's rage was only getting worse. Hide and seek wasn't the game they were playing. Shinda searched everywhere, finding Akvan a few times, only for the Sun child to evade him and continue running. Now it had been a good month or more since Akvan hid last, and Shinda had lost all patience. He landed in Baransu, knowing the Sun brat liked to use built up places to hide the most. Perhaps he'd gone to the Mun clan, to ghost around his friends there for comfort. Shinda made his way to the clan grounds, smirking as he was proven right. Perhaps hiding was more than just to avoid Shinda, but to also gather strength. Shinda watched Akvan move around the clan in his Eteru form, that stupid golden mist was once again coating his body, not that it would stop Shinda. With his evil red magic, cutting up the Eteru was nothing, since Shinda remembered how easily it had been done before, back when he was simply spying through another's body. So, not wanting to strain out the period of peace any longer, Shinda stormed into the clan, growling towards Akvan. "There you are, you fuck!" Shinda snarled, "There's no getting away anymore, you fucking fight, or you die!" Shinda lifted a hand, preparing a spear of Oblivia in his hand, before throwing it towards Akvan's Eteru. "Fucking choose!"

It felt wrong fighting like this, knowing to Shinda, this was just training Akvan up to be more of a challenge. Whilst Akvan fought to kill, Shinda fought to entertain himself, which didn't balance out the fights very well. Needless to say, Akvan was getting better, if a little more... savage in his fighting style. Sending magic at Shinda with the intent to destroy him, no longer holding back the powers he'd once shunned away. It felt free in a way to finally attack full out, and without meaning to, Akvan was starting to enjoy it. On the outside, Akvan made sure to remember this was all to stop Shinda and make the world better. But deep down, there was part of the Sun child that craved this destruction. Akvan had even gone so far as to lose track of the passing days. It had been months or weeks since Akvan last thought to remember how long it had been, and now he had no grasp on time anymore. So there was nothing but more fighting to look forward to. It saddened Akvan to just imagine how long he'd been here, and how everyone else was holding up. In his moments of worry, Shinda had the edge. And he'd struck hard, to Akvan's side, and neck. The latter injury almost brought the Sun child's end. The choking sensation of blood blocking up Akvan's throat made him recall his promises, and with mere ounces of strength left, he'd flown away from Shinda and up into Dranar. In the wastelands, Akvan barely got the poison out of his system in time, and once placing a make-shift bandage around his neck, he passed out. Akvan woke up in pain, hardly able to breath still. He couldn't heal himself as well, knowing the reason why from long back when he'd made a choice to help the others rather than himself. Shinda hadn't found him yet, as Akvan was hiding in the unfamiliar lands of Kurrayami, in Onrah's old house, to be exact. He remained there, tending over the neck injury as best he could with minimal healing magic and no supplies. Akvan's pain and near death reminded the real part of him that he needed to survive. Enjoying the fights had been a mistake, letting Akvan's darker side take over meant Akvan had forgotten how precious his life was. Now Akvan was reminded of that, he made sure to avoid all conflict with Shinda until he'd healed. Which wasn't exactly easy when the Devil was so fast, and very good at tracking. After a few close calls, Akvan figured out methods of evasion, until he was confident he could hide without Shinda finding him immediately. Proven as Akvan had a whole month alone. It was horrible in terms of Akvan's mental stability, to be in silence for so long, but in terms of powers, he learnt a lot of new tricks, tricks Akvan knew were his only way of besting Shinda right now.
Which lead to the fight Shinda thought he was starting. Akvan had created a fake Eteru, made of weak mist and nothing else, and set it loose in the Mun clan. Shinda was usually smart, but it seemed his frustration got the better of him. As Shinda attacked the fake, Akvan charged up attacks from behind. "Then I'll fight!" Akvan responded, and before Shinda could do anything, Akvan cast down his attack. Maximum Gladio, a rain of hundreds of swords, and an attack impossible to dodge. Akvan didn't need to watch as the swords fell, only landing down after them to look for Shinda.

Shinda hadn't lost himself to rage in quite a while. He was naturally aggressive and angry, but Akvan had played him into being more so than before. The spear of Oblivia cut right through the Eteru form Shinda had targeted, causing it to puff like smoke and dissipate into the air. By the time Shinda noticed his mistake, all time he had left to react was put into looking up. Akvan hovered above him, and after shouting down his decision, the Sun child sent a rain of blades down on Shinda's location. That was the moment Shinda felt afraid. And, he couldn't remember the last time he'd ever been scared of a fight, or of pain. But Shinda saw the swords falling down towards him, and thought of a time he'd long forced out of his memory, being cornered by Angels, and the slaughter that came after. Blinking himself out the harsh memory, Shinda did the only thing he could do at this point, try to stop as many blades with his own magic, and dodge the rest. Flashes of light went off like fireworks, Solaris magic colliding with Oblivia magic and exploding, whilst the Devil tried to get away. He didn't look up, only ran, and Shinda soon felt something cold and painful slice across his sides. His armoured back protected him well, but it didn't cover all of the Devil. Cuts landed on his side, and with a smack one blade managed to land directly in the joint of Shinda's shoulder. The impact knocked Shinda onto the ground, meaning he could only look up at the still falling swords. Shinda put his wing above his body, feeling the pain as the strong but sensitive wing was battered by the swords. It stopped them from slicing into Shinda anymore, but cost him a wing. Once the rain had stopped, with his face struck with pain and shock, Shinda ran. Old instinct kicked in, and the downed Demon ran as fast as he could one injured legs. This wasn't good, Akvan had improved far too quickly, or had learnt too much about Shinda to use for his own wicked advancement. Shinda could just die in the state he was in, whatever death was to someone stuck between the gaps of death and life.
Shinda continued to run, feeling as though right now his only advantage was his speed, which struggled on despite the pain. Shinda made it all the way back to the swamp, in fact, before Akvan caught up. There was hardly time to even turn around. Shinda could feel the attempted strike coming from behind him, Shinda's skin went cold as he heard the rush of footsteps. What action he took was purely to stop his own demise. And yet, even though Shinda gave it no thought, the attack was probably the most perfectly aimed strike he'd used so far. Shinda turned on his heel and slammed his good arm downwards, deadly claws raking right across Akvan's face.

Akvan almost couldn't believe it when he saw Shinda running away. Blood dropped as the Devil ran, with visible signs of contact with Akvan's attack. The Sun child could have even smiled, but he refrained from enjoying this fight. He was trying to kill Shinda, and get out of here, he wasn't trying to enjoy himself and replenish his darker urges. So Akvan took a breath, leaving Shinda with a small head start before running after him. His feet were striking land, but as Akvan had gotten used to, with his prosthetic legs, he could only run so fast. So from the ground, Akvan summoned Unda around his feet, until the golden waters were carrying him just above the land, and giving Akvan the speed to catch up with Shinda. While still wounded, the Devil was determined to live, and continued to use his agility to remain ahead. But, Shinda perhaps made a mistake when returning to the swamp. His clawed feet hit the muck, and the Devil was slowed down. There was never a better chance, and Akvan got Joyeux ready to strike right through Shinda. Holding the sword tight, Akvan felt a surge of pre-relief flow through him. With this attack, he could end things, end Shinda and end this hellish time in Purgatory. Only those living knew how long Akvan had been gone, he'd long forgotten. He'd forgotten what sound was like, fresh air, or anything other than the need to survive. In fact, yelling down as Shinda back in the Mun clan had been the first words uttered by Akvan in months.
He was so close to feeling freedom, and the second Akvan almost smiled, and his sword was just about to impale Shinda, Akvan saw a flash of deep red, and all across his face ruptured in pain. Akvan's right eye coated in red, sliced along with most of the Sun child's face from Shinda's last attack. The cuts were incredibly deep, or at least felt as deep as ravines as Akvan pulled back, clutching onto the four ruptured lines of skin as he called out in pain. Blood filled up his mouth as well, sending a sickening taste of copper down Akvan's throat. He couldn't see, the one unharmed eye was drowned in tears, and deep down Akvan thought he might just see this situation flip, and Shinda take the opportunity to end Akvan instead. But, little did he know, the Devil could hardly move himself, exhausted by his own blood loss and injuries. Akvan felt something weakly grab his collar, "L...leave... sh-shit... " Shinda gasped, "No... no fucking time.. li.. limit, I'll bring you... back my.. myself." The Devil added, his voice so coarse with pain and anger. Before Akvan could do anything, his collar was let go, and Shinda used stronger Oblivia magic to drag the Sun child towards the gateway. Akvan was almost blind, but he still saw the chance of his forever freedom disappear as he was whisked away. Unlike last time, Akvan feared the sound of the living world, knowing it would only comfort him for so long, before he was forced back into this eternal hell again.
When Akvan landed in the living world, he lay there, coughing out the blood that had been dripping down from his scarred face, and feeling ultimately defeated. After coughing for a while, Akvan got up, letting the cuts feel exposure to the cold air of Sohul, and ignoring their protesting pain, as he glared towards the archway. "Y.. you bastard... let me b-back in..." Akvan muttered, body shaking uncontrollably, until without hesitation or word, Akvan sent a ball of magic through the archway. It passed right through, exploding in a massive ball of golden flames in the swamp beyond the gate. "LET ME BACK IN!" Akvan yelled, as the explosion died down. His voice cracked as soon as he'd yelled, already fragile, and now truly broken. Staring at the falling muck and water of the destroyed swamplands, Akvan began crying to himself. "I w-was... so close.. t-to ending all of th-this." He muttered, words scrapping across his broken voice. Standing in the silence, and breaking down in seer distress, Akvan finally fell down to his knees, with blood from his face dropping down and staining his purple cloak. From the corner of Akvan's hazy vision, he saw something bright green. Usually, seeing his skull friend left to Akvan by Onrah got him happy, but Akvan could only give the magic skull a glance. "Harno..." Akvan muttered, before he couldn't find the effort left to say anymore. Harno stopped only for a moment to look at Akvan's sorry state, before it flew off and away into the skies behind Akvan. Harno did what it wanted, it flew around and explored, offering help to Akvan like some sort of mythical creature of hope. Whilst Akvan was so close to the point of not caring, he assumed Harno had gone to find someone else, some sort of help for Akvan right now.

To anyone who has seen Tenshi since the start of this war, would only believe she to be tired from using her magic keeping Hane alive. But that was far from the case. She hadn't slept since it all begun, her search for Shinda taking a more dominant place in her mind, while keeping Hane alive took all exhaustion from her, Tenshi knew her magic wouldn't be as strong when sleeping, and she feared the effect it would have on his health. It was difficult not hovering around Hane all the time, making sure he stayed alive, but Nanari and Chester were adamant about Tenshi getting rest, and on top of that, they both knew something they weren't telling. She knew Akvan had been around, back from wherever he was, and had gone back, but they refused to share information on it. Another reason why she didn't stay. Currently, she was on another search from Shinda, probably a terrible plan with her exhaustion, and the fact the Saints were hunting the last living Angels... But Tenshi needed to do this, for everyone. The little skull was unexpected, and after a few seconds, realised it was the same one Akvan had, giving a small smile before realising he must be in a bad state, if the state she heard about from last time was anything to go by. Rushing after the skull, Tenshi covered up a gasp at his appearance, dropping down beside him and holding his face in her hands. "What happened to you?" Tenshi didn't have the strength to heal, but looking at her friend, she would find it, even if it killed her. Closing her eyes, Tenshi poured scraps of magic into him, healing the worst of his wounds slightly, enough to assure he wouldn't bleed to death. Before half collapsing from her exhaustion. "That should heal you enough until we get you to Nanari's... How are you feeling though?" Tenshi knew that her questions much be out of place, her words too quiet to hear properly, but at this moment, it was the best she could do.

Akvan had his head hanging against where the gateway would be, in his imagination, still hearing the hum of magic. He silently begged it to open again and allow Akvan to finish things with Shinda, being back whilst still knowing what was in his future, Akvan hated. He hated that not a few feet ahead of him, Shinda stood, close to death. And yet even so close, Shinda was also the furthest possible from the Sun child's grasp. After a few minutes, Akvan's tears had at least stopped, he couldn't bring out anymore with only one working eye, and his throat was so dry and broken he could hear each breath scrape across it. So he just sat there, body too exhausted to try and get up. And Akvan almost didn't want to. His burning face dropped down in suffering, as Akvan thought of Chester and the others. How he so longed to see their faces again, remember what they looked like after this year of silence and torture. But, at the same time, he'd only be seeing them for a short while before having to leave once more. And Akvan dreaded leaving them so much that he didn't want to go see them at all. And save the heartbreak. It was a selfish way to think, but in his state, Akvan couldn't even oppose his own thoughts to change them.
Akvan's face stung when his expression moved slightly, and he raised a hand to the scars, trying to fix them. The magic spit from Akvan's hand, doing nothing to heal the wound, and proving that he'd exhausted all he had for now. Healing magic especially, after his gift to the others, it still hadn't come back properly. Akvan dropped his hand, in time to hear Tenshi drop by his side, unable to see her from his new blind-spot until slowly turning his head. "Tenshi.." Akvan rasped, his voice hardly audible or distinguishable. He felt something tickle along his face and other wounds, even the old scar across his neck felt from the healing magic, but hardly reacted. Now he knew Tenshi was there, Akvan turned his head back towards the gateway. His friend spoke some more, and to be honest the Sun child barely picked up the words. Finally Akvan spoke, with enough dryness to his voice that it probably hurt to even listen to, "Pain... right here." Akvan replied, pointing a hand towards his heart. "F-failed again... I can't g-go and see... them like this."

Tenshi knew he would scar, and would take ages for him to heal, both mentally and physically, but she knew how stubborn Akvan could be, and she knew he would manage it. His voice sounded terrible, and wished for nothing more then having enough power to heal him more... She should have, things making it possible, but she still felt the need to exhaust herself, she couldn't lose someone else. Smiling sadly to Akvan, Tenshi took a breath and sat looking at him, shaking her head. "I cant heal that pain Akvan, I'm sorry." Hearing how he didn't want to go see Chester and Nanari made Tenshi worry in itself, but over how he failed... That wasn't something she expected, and she guessed it was also due to keeping them from breaking when he had to leave again, even if she's not going to stand for it. "What did you fail at Akvan? And you can, and will... They miss you like crazy, Chester especially, she needs you, after everything... Don't hide away, not like this..." Tenshi wasn't sure on the situation, but she knew it must be grand for him to be like this. "You need to get up so I can help you back."

Akvan's right eye remained clamped shut, the pain too much to allow his blood-coated eye to open yet. But, his other eye was fine, and dropped down when Tenshi spoke. "I know... n-no one can." He muttered, coughing a little to try and clear his throat. Gods it hurt to talk, everything hurt. That pain Akvan had just ignored in Purgatory for the sake of continuing to fight Shinda was all back now that he'd failed and had no reason to ignore it. Sighing in frustration, Akvan lifted a hand to cover his injured eye, trying desperately to muffle that pain that was irritating him. Akvan was adamant about not going, he couldn't handle it. A whole year of nothing but a fight that now held no meaning made Akvan as fragile as heated glass. He was already cracking just thinking about it all, and that explosion of magic in anger was just the start of Akvan's breaking will. It was fortunate he had some sanity left, enough to realise that Tenshi didn't really know what he was doing. What Akvan had been doing for so long now. "I've b-been... fighting him." Akvan muttered, "I know you knew h-him, though not h-how. Over a-a year ago, Shinda f-forced me... t-to fight. Now.. k-killing him is the o-only way for me t-to be free, a-and for.. the world to be s-safe." Akvan slowly replied, wheezing a lot in between statements. His lips quivered. "F-for a whole y-year, I w-was alone.. j-just trying to kill h-him and return. But I-I f-fail.. and i-it's a whole year... w-wasted." He added, before making a move to get up. Akvan's legs were a lot weaker than he'd thought, noticing his own exhaustion now in his shivering legs, swaying as they were tempted to collapse again at the joint. "I-I don't deserve t-to... see them, t-to make them s-see me like.. this." He rasped, taking a few breaths. His head shook, "I-I won't see them.. T-tenshi." Akvan stated, giving Tenshi a look of many things. Exhaustion, fear and confusion. Sadness and loneliness, and above all, a look of violence, crazed violence. "And.. you can't m-make me." He added as a threat. A weak one, since it took all of Akvan's energy to stand. Tenshi could easily drag him with Akvan squirming with all the small energy he had left. But Akvan didn't care. The Sun child was so used to using violence now as his only way of talking back to someone, the thought of his threat being pointless was passed him.

Tenshi knew, the second Akvan said him. Tenshi knew, her search had been futile since the beginning, and she wished she had known earlier, then perhaps she would have been fighting instead, she had so much to say to him, so much anger to get out for he has done. All she wanted to do was shout and rage over it all, but she knew Akvan didn't need that right now, he needed a friend there for him, and for Tenshi to go and rage about Shinda, especially knowing what he has forced from Akvan... Wouldn't be the best option, even if he should have known better... He's doing to Chester, almost exactly what happened to him, and it killed Tenshi inside to know that. "Shinda is strong, and never plays by the rules, I would know... For you to have come this far, is not a fail, its far, far from that. I'm sorry that he has picked you as his competitor, and if need be, let me take your place next time, I have so much to say to him..." Tenshi felt her face darken when she said that, because of the truth behind it, their fight would be that of words rather then violence at first, she would make him crack, for she knew how. Tenshi's face fell into sadness though when Akvan refused to see the others... They missed him terribly, Chester had been through too much with everything, she needs him right now, and knowing that he would threaten her about it, to make sure she didn't take him, broke her heart, let alone what she would tell Nanari and Chester if they ever found out, because knowing Shinda, he would be watching and waiting to tell them that right now. "You cant put everything on your shoulders Akvan... You do deserve it, Chester needs you, and you need her." Tenshi hated Shinda for this, what he has made Akvan believe, even if it wasn't direct. But taking a sigh, Tenshi moved him to place where it was comfier, against her hearts wishes, before setting him down and sitting beside him. "I don't like this, but fine, I wont take you, but your explaining to me everything about what Shinda is doing over there..."

What kind of enemy was Shinda to Tenshi? It was a passing thought in Akvan's messed up head. Was their passion for fighting one another as strong as it was for Akvan and Shinda, though Akvan didn't know if Tenshi could even become that violent. Keeping his posture, a cautious look to Tenshi, Akvan at least calmed enough to listen and take in her words. "He makes the r-rules..." Akvan mumbled, torn lips almost moving to a smile. "B-but I beat them... b-beat him. It was this cl-close to being over, but..." Akvan's expression dropped, his mood going back to it's new norm, and his chilling eye watching Tenshi. Not only did he doubt any living being unlike him could survive in Purgatory, but Shinda wouldn't allow another to fight him. At least Akvan thought so. He knew Shinda fought dirty, but he wasn't so evil as to make the fights anymore than a one on one. The Sun child simply shook his head, knowing it could only be him in those fights. Akvan couldn't put someone else through the hell he had to endure, not let them lose the sanity that Akvan had drained from his system. He tried backing up when Tenshi got up, but he almost fell over there and then if she hadn't brought him over to somewhere else to sit. Akvan tried to relax again, knowing he shouldn't be so aggressive and edgy right now. This wasn't Purgatory, he wasn't on the run or trying to survive. "I-I need her... s-so much." Akvan admitted. "A-and I want... a-a life with her. B-but.... I don't want Chester f-forever waiting for me to come back... I n-need to s-stop him.. kill him, so I w-won't need to k-keep leaving. I-I don't w-want to.. break the promise." The lack of tears meant nothing, Akvan was simply empty. If he could, tears would be falling non-stop. Though all he could do right now is whimper. He swallowed, throat so dry and causing pain with each word. But, he continued to reply. "Shinda w-wants to escape... b-boredom. He's the c-cause of the war, a-and is keeping m-me out of it... s-so I can't help, and he i-is kept busy. I... I don't know w-what he truly w-wants. And... Shinda d-doesn't know either." Akvan stated.
