The Brothers History: Doragon, Haru and Saiken.
(Saiken 15, Haru 19, Doragon 21)
Doragon- Birth until Three years old.
Doragon was born into a wealthy, and snobbish family, who cared for nothing but money and possessions. It was no wonder why the first years of Doragon's life was spent being raised by a nanny, given anything his little unknowing baby mind could ask for, minus his own family's attention and time, it was a household of cliché's and emptiness. His parents back then though, held more then this cliché though, on the inside anyway. Being spies for the less then savoury characters of the Demon race, if only so that they could keep their wealth and security from them all, when the 'inevitable' happened, as they would explain. Little baby Doragon used as a bargaining chip once he was born, if things ever came to the worst, for his parents that was. Now it wasn't long that another was added to this mix, baby Haru being born, and thrown into the world, into the cliché that was his life, unknown to the horrors hidden within, and baby Doragon only beginning to realise the true meaning of family.
Doragon- Three years old, until Seven years old... Haru- Birth until Four years old.
It was here when Doragon's life changed, being thrown into the role of big brother. He was still raised by the nanny of the household, never to see his parents, not that he realised that fact, but now the attention he had, was cut down to focus on the new addition. He didn't mind at first, but he grew, understanding more and more of the world, he began to crave the attention, to gain something more then what he had. But baby Haru, being so young, gained all attention, the nanny's, even the rare moments when his parents were around, the new bargaining chip needing to grow up healthy. Now, baby Haru wasn't quiet and calm like his older brother, he was a screamer, stayed quiet for none but Doragon... This confused the boy, he craved attention, but not from his baby brother, though, even so young, looking at his family member, he knew that this was all he needed, just how much so, was yet to be decided.
Now, Doragon played a big part in helping Haru learn to grow, being the calmer one of the two, the young boy being careful to play and teach Haru what was needed. But as Haru grew, so did his mischief, even as a toddler, Haru was quiet energetic, and once he learned to crawl, even walk, the young boy was causing havoc for the staff, and gong missing in games of hide and seek, as he could hide anywhere really. But the two brothers were happy, but things quickly went down hill from here, tumbling to the greatest depths, and Doragon, as the eldest, felt the effects the most.
Doragon- Seven until Ten... Haru- Four until Seven... Saiken- Birth until Three.
It was here where everything changed, first of all, Doragon and Haru received a new brother, Saiken, a small and ill baby, having been born too early into the world. Or so their father thought, in truth, Saiken was nothing more then a half brother to the boys, their mother having found interest in another. Now, this was not the moment that changed it all for the boys, as they barely knew their parents any ways. But, things took a dark turning, their father having sold their mother out to the Demons for 'betrayal' to their race, and not two months after, going through using his own sons as their 'intended' use as a bargaining chip for the recent ruling of Exitium, after their father was accused of conspiring against him, though this was far from the case. The boys home was invaded by Exitium's minions, the intention to find the boys, raise them as loyal spies and dogs to his ruling. Doragon, wisdom far beyond his years, bundled up his baby brothers, and fled, watching as his nanny, and all the other workers he had come to know and see as family be killed while they helped him to escape.
He fled to Sora, tired, scared, and looking after not just a four year old who had no knowledge on what was happening, but a baby who needed warmth and protection, as well as help from his illness. It was here he met Vanessa, an elderly widowed woman who was helping those effected by Exitium's new lifestyle. She gladly took the boys in, though Doragon refused to give up his duty in looking after his brothers, as they were all he had left. But now he at least had a roof over their head, food on the table, and medical help for the youngest of the three. For three years the boys stayed here, Doragon helping out with the others where he could, and becoming the protective older brother of his siblings, helping to teach them. But Vanessa made sure the boy had time to himself, letting him go out to play near the few park like areas of Sora, it was at ten years old, he met Thor, a small baby dragon who was recently hatched from the egg, his mother no where to be seen (later found to be killed by Exitium for his experiments) Doragon was quick to take him in, not just as a pet, but as a companion, returning to his new home, that was up in flames, screams coming from within. Wasting no time, nor thinking, Doragon rushed into the building, moving through the flames to the basement, where he found Vanessa keeping his brothers safe. Not wishing to lose any of them, he dragged both Saiken and Haru out, making sure the two were okay before rushing back in to save Vanessa.
Haru, as scared as he was at this moment, holding onto Saiken outside, both hoping that Doragon made it out safe, and internally blaming him for all this, for abandoning them for the day. The seven year old vowing not to ever let such a thing happen again.
Doragon at this moment, could barely breath, the smoke messing with his lungs, and eyes watering from the sting. Vanessa, dying on the floor, unable to move, body too weak, shouting to the child to make it out alive, he had more to live for. Doragon tried to help, but once more watched as someone died, this time, in his arms. And during his escape, the manic laugher could be heard, as could the flap of wings, sounds that would haunt his memory forever more. Returning to his brothers, Thor not far behind, Doragon ran with them, he knew not where at this moment, but they needed to get away.
Doragon- Ten until Thirteen... Haru- Seven until Ten... Saiken- Three until Six.
The brothers found themselves in Minato for the next three years of their lives, Doragon having heard of the work available on the black market, knowing he needed it to provide for his family, even if the work available was less than satisfactory. Finding an old abandoned home, one that had been burnt down years back and never replaced, the brothers worked together to make a home there. Doragon doing the black markets bidding by night, and teaching his brothers of things they needed to learn by day.
Doragon hated the work he had to do, stealing off of people, relaying messages of threatening nature, some in which has got him beaten a few times. To be expected in this line of unwilling work though, but worth it when providing for his brothers. But in the days when Doragon was working, Haru was left to care for the youngest, even with his own age, the two finding joy in small games and creating what they could from what was found, the latter being more Saiken then Haru, the youngest boy having a natural eye for things that fit together, even if he didn't know what that meant. Haru would often use the orphan card on people to help provide for his family, but in all left things up to Doragon, not knowing what else he could do, and in silent revenge for the fire.
For three years there was happy medium in the events that occurred, and the brothers, despite it all, grew up well, and most quite smart. Thor had become a much loved and cared for member, and the baby, though he never grew, also became stronger each day, helping to protect the brothers. But once more, they couldn't seem to find their happy ending. Haru became more active as a thief, and one day, took things a little too far as he stole from a well known and powerful thug. Haru became a member on his hit list, and they could not stay within Minato any longer, leaving behind the home they made for themselves, once more watching as it burnt down. Though this time, it really was someone's fault, and despite this causing Haru to forgive Doragon for three years ago, Haru couldn't forgive himself.
Now the thugs chased the brothers to the boarders of Rycora, with no signs of stopping until they got what they wanted. Haru's head. But being the protective older brother he was, Doragon would not allow for that to happen, instead, he brought his brothers into a hug, the last one he would get for five years, gave them all the money and resources he had saved up, before sending them on their way, hiring a carriage to take them to Baransu, while he lead the thugs on a wild goose chase through Rycora, leading them off the trail.
The brothers cried over the separation, but vowed to not let this be their final moments together. Haru and Saiken escaped to chase, finding refuge in Baransu, Thor as their protector, where they would remain until their brothers return. While Doragon found himself alone, being chased through the unknown territory of the Rycora forest, waiting for the day to return.
Doragon- Thirteen until Sixteen.
Doragon had ran far into the Rycora forest to no avail, after the first three days of running, with few supplies left and no energy to continue, the Thugs caught up to him, surprisingly good trackers compared to their general intellect. With finding him, the group beat the boy, demanding on where to find the other, but Doragon refused to utter a single word, and he paid the price. The thugs left him for dead, leaving the boy lost and alone, with nothing but the clothes on his back in the Rycora forest. He could barely move, let alone survive in a place like this, well for any normal person, but Doragon knew he couldn't die here, he needed to get back to his brothers, return to protect them for anything like this happening again. But that was easier said then done, first, he needed the supplies to get back, and had to find his way through this forest, a task almost impossible, and definitely for those who had never been in here before. And yet he stood, limp in his step and vision blurred, body masked in blood and grime. He walked alone for six months, more and more lost everyday, circling the forest, but he grew stronger, learnt to survive. Hunting game, building shelters and weapons, finding the materials needed, his lessons with Vanessa on such things coming in handy, foraging the lands, and after six long months, he finally found something. A small village, people who survived off the land just as he did, built up to a thriving society that adapted to a certain way of life, together as a mis-matched group of individuals who saw one another as family. They happily accepted Doragon in, as long as he stuck to their laws, which were far and few in between, all reasonable and something he would have done anyways, adapting to so many people was hard at first, so long alone here doing that to someone, but he got help from the villagers, mainly a girl of his age, Lyric. Lyric arrived here the same way he did just a year prior, and she was quick to take him under her wing, to help him adapt just as she had to, Lyric was quick to become a sister to Doragon, her nature reminding him so much of what he needed to return to.
But, after spending six more months in the Rycora forest, this time, with the company of others, Doragon couldn't just leave, he wanted to repay them for everything they had done for him. Gave him a home, friends, a sheltered life from what he had previously experienced. Now, in the time he spent here, Doragon realised they didn't have much, no armour against the wolves or stray dogs of Exitium, little knowledge on how to create strong weapons, this all being taken away by Exitium, by his little minions before he arrived here, and those who had the knowledge for these things killed off in cold blood, like he wanted them to rot. And with the help of Lyric, and the two other close friends he made, twins Yak and Elk, Doragon helped to repay his debt to the small village, by helping them learn what he did, making their lives easier and safer, this went on for another year and a half, Doragon now fifteen, soon to turn sixteen, and missing his brothers more and more.
It was here where he decided to leave, having found a route back to a busier society a few months prior. Saying goodbye to his friends hurt, them being the only ones he had for a year and a half, but they understood why he had to leave, and promised they would be waiting for him to visit... Except it seemed, Destiny couldn't give him a break from death and heartbreak, because after he left, Exitium sent his minions back to the village, either taking people as slaves, or killing them off entirely. Lyric, killed. Yak and Elk taken, never to be seen again. Doragon had stopped to refill on his water when he looked to the sky to see the black smoke of fire, and he was quick to rush back, to no avail, the place he called home once again destroyed by the inferno, the haunting cackle and flap of wings heard in the air, nothing but a ghost of a sound, one of previous events. For once, Doragon cried, let out a wail of anguish, holding the body of Lyric, or what was left of it, rocking back and forth. It should have been him, why did he always survive while the others died? He did not know how long he sat there, but he had no resolve to do anything, and yet, even with no strength nor dedication to live on, he stood, scavenged the village for what he could salvage, picking up the things that survived which were important to the villages, be it hand carved necklaces, or small wooden figures. Keeping them safe or burying them with the bodies of those who died. Mind empty of emotion, and body acting as if it were clockwork, shaking and cold. He remained in the charred remains for seven days, creating an armour from the forest, so he could always be reminded of these people, and those keep safes from the bodies not found, or those who were taken, sewed as best he could into it, giving him the strength to move forward. To do as he set out to do, go to Baransu, reunite with his family, to keep his promise. He searched for six months, to find nothing, none had seen them, nor did they find shelter in any homes, it unnerved Doragon, sent him into a panic, with no idea where to start looking for them, or what even happened. He didn't even know if they made it to Baransu in the first place. But he wouldn't give up, and set about a new plan.
Haru- Ten until Thirteen... Saiken- Six until Nine.
