Note: Takes place two years after Pandemic, just after 'waking up', Akvan... now known as Flood, is taking his first steps back in Sohul since the Pandemic incident.
Flood grasped his chest, unable to control the massive shivers that took over his body. He felt frozen, like his blood was ice cold, or non-existent. Coughing so uncontrollably, Flood almost fell, instead falling against the wall of a building to stop himself. What was going on? As soon as he'd left the room where his Sun tear cocoon was, Flood felt like he couldn't breath, and that his body was evaporating around him. The Sun Goddess kept warning Flood about these kind of dangers. That since he was so close to death before, reconstructing him had been rushed, and it meant Flood was still supported by his crystal cocoon. His mother had almost begged Flood to rest before leaving the crystal's room, but Flood had been persistent on seeing the world below him. Flood shook like a leaf, white as snow as what appeared to be white fog seemed to pour out of his skin. Fortunately, Minato was full of people with must disinterest in each other, not one person gave much thought to the mysterious man leaking fog from his body. Or at least that was the case, until someone did stop. "The hell is wrong with you?" The man almost demanded. Everyone was on edge these days. Even two years since the huge sickness outbreak, these days ill people were given a lot more grief, almost imprisoned to keep spreading at bay. Flood sucked in air to his faltering lungs, slowly lifting his head to look at the man. He looked well kept, for someone in Minato, and Flood thought he'd remembered the man from somewhere before. Instead of replying, Flood could only release empty gasps of air, but winced when he saw the man's face grow more and more red and livid. "You... You're him, aren't you?" The man growled, pointing a finger at Flood like he was trying to stab the air between them, "You're the God of Disease! I remember you!" Flood stared right at the man, shaking his head slowly. No, this couldn't be the same man, the same one that had attacked him once in Sora, outside of a hospital. He was the nurse, the one that had a reasonable, if still insane, grudge against Akvan. The one that tried to burn Akvan's face off in the middle of a crowd of people.
Flood swallowed, trying to take a step back, only to find that he couldn't feel his legs right now. They felt like mist, so air like and weak. He panted, holding out a hand towards the nurse, "N-no... please, I'm not... the same-" "Yes! I can't forget that face! You're Akvan, God of Disease, the reason everyone suffered, the reason why everyone died two years ago!" The nurse claimed, causing others in the crowd of people to stop to listen, all placing glares on Flood's back. Coughing some more, to the spiteful amusement of the nurse, Flood went to speak. But, unlike before, this time the nurse wasn't prepared to prolong his hatred expressed on Akvan, and fired a ball of fire towards the Sun child's chest. It exploded on contact, throwing Flood hard onto the floor. Groaning, Flood could smell burning flesh, and felt the boiling skin fire pain up his system. But that wasn't what had Flood's attention. It was this weird feeling in Flood's head. After seeing the fire magic, he felt like he'd learnt something, the strange feeling of satisfaction in his head when the rest of his body was currently burning. Then, opening his eyes, Flood struggled to his feet, shaking more than ever, much to the crowds amusement. The nurse sneered, before going to knock Flood over again with another ball of fire. Except this time, as Flood raised his hand, the fire ball stopped midway, floating in the air, commanded by Flood himself. It was weird, using fire magic as if he'd known it his whole life, and Flood could hardly believe it himself. Flood sent the fireball back at the man's feet, without a chance to retaliate further as his body hissed. The pain forced Flood to his knees, as he clenched his arms around his stomach, the burns feeling as though they were still digging deeper into his flesh. And as the pain crawled along his skin, more white mist steamed off Flood's body, surrounding the area. "Look! He's releasing more sickness, get away from it!" Someone in the crowd called, before the whole group of spiteful Humans made haste and left, even the nurse. Flood watched them leave through the blurry vision of his eyes, before falling to his knees again, clutching the wall like a life line. This was awful, of all the ways to return to this place, in his own body and free from his despicable duty, this wasn't how Flood planned it. He hugged his stomach, wanting to hear the soft, reassuring voice of the Sun Goddess. Hear his mother tell him he was just fine, and that his body would heal, or he wouldn't die again. But Flood couldn't hear her, and panicked as he started to honestly think he would die, again. The fire magic used was made specifically for damage once burnt. Even though Flood wasn't on fire, it continued to rip through his skin. That, added to his already faltering body condition from leaving the Sun tear, and Flood was close to passing out. He couldn't see through the fog coming off of his own body, but still called out for something to help him.

Nanari hadn't really been home much in the last two years, always around Sohul or up in Aura helping those who got sick or remained sick from the Pandemic. But she was finally free, and traveling through the streets of her home town, wondering when things would be better, when people realised that it wasn't always ones fault on who they believed it to be. Nanari had been keeping a close track on people she cared for when they got ill, ever so pleased that Kakushin was still alive, as was Ruru and Chester and Gensho. And despite the loses she knew they faces, Nanari had hope that things would be improved. It wasn't until she heard the commotion up ahead did Nanari truly understand how horrible people could be, and rushing over to the mans side, Nanari knew that despite her hate for the god of disease for causing such problems, the conversation she had with Queen Tenshi two years ago allowed her to understand things better. "Akvan right? I need your help to stand and get to mine so I can help okay? Do you understand me?" Nanari had gotten stronger then she looked in the past two years, and found it a little easier to help carry those that needed the help with problems, but without her beloved cat family around to help, considering they were taking a much needed break sleeping at home, Nanari did need the help of another or the one she was helping. And considering the publics reactions to him, she doubted anyone would help. Wrapping an arm under is arms, Nanari used all her strength to lift him up to his feet, well inclined to get him back to hers as soon as she could.

Flood, despite believing he'd already lost consciousness, could still feel himself breath, and his heart beat. It felt like something was keeping a tight grip on a string attached to Flood's body, stopping him from falling over. This new body, if made to look familiar to his old one, it was so alien. Flood had never known what a Sun child's body should be like, if it was this strange, or was something wrong with Flood. He forced his eyes open, hearing a voice nearby. For a moment, he'd hoped it was his mothers, and he'd open his eyes and be back in her realm, in the field of warm and soft orange flames. Where no one hated him, or burnt him, where Flood could rest in ignorance. But no, he was still in Baransu, and a woman was at his side, someone the ex-God vaguely recognised from his last life, perhaps in the Ball where many faces melded into one memory. By instinct, Flood tried to move away from her, fearing he might infect her, before remembering that he wasn't in that body anymore. No, that body was nothing but rot in a cave somewhere, and this current body would be no better off if Flood didn't wake himself up. Flood shook his head, looking down and stroking a shaky hand across his legs that to his eyes, were nothing but white steam. "C-can't... where... where are my legs?" Flood mumbled pathetically. His legs still felt non-existent, but with Nanari's help, Flood managed to at least stand on them again. Looking down, they still looked missing to Flood, but in reality, he looked perfectly normal, minus the severe burns. All of this was an illusion, a Sun tear's very advanced senses going out of control in a new environment, making Flood believe he was turning into fog, painfully to. Flood coughed, also believing that his lungs were disappearing too. He managed to walk as well, although was hardly even acknowledging things around him as Flood mumbled. "Don't... get close... sickness everywhere... m-my fault... everyone dies... will I... disappear too?" Nothing Flood said could be connected into sentences, even Flood himself was unsure what he was talking about. He was desperate to get help from the Sun Goddess. His mother promise him, that she wouldn't let him do this job alone, and yet here he was going crazy without even one gentle, motherly word of advice. "M-m-mother... have you left me? I fail you... not speaking to me... I'm... alone."

Nanari was freaking out a little, never having to deal with a condition like this before. But that didn't stop her from helping him back to hers, ignoring the disgusted looks she got from people along the way, and the occasional jab at helping he who didn't help them, but that still didn't stop her. It was difficult listening to him as she tried to get him back, and Nanari didn't really know what to say right now, not understanding exactly what he was saying... "Your not alone... Okay? Just hang in there." The walk back to Nanari's was longer then usual, and felt like days, but the second they reached the front door, Nanari was shouting to the occupants within for help. "Tulus, can you go fetch some burn healing herbs... And Burea, mind helping me get my friend on the couch. Muchi, keep him company while I sort out things." Burea and Muchi were Nanari's most recent companions, and both have shown their help with Nanari's profession, she could almost open up a healers with their help, despite them being cats. With the help of Burea, they managed to get Akvan to the couch as Tulus returned with medical herbs. Looking down to the other, Nanari moved some hair from his forehead. "Akvan, your going to be okay... Hear me, just don't succumb to a madness..." Turning her attention to the herbs, Nanari got to work adding salve to the wounds, the sooner they were treated the better.

As far as Flood could tell, he was just walking in a sea of white blur. The voice next to him, if it existed in Flood's world was just noise. All he could do was keep moving forward, through the endless sea of nothing, where sometimes the shapes of buildings appeared randomly, enough to wake up Flood for a moment. But even then, all he could do was look around, focus on moving his feet, and breath somewhat normally. "Always alone... dead... everyone is dead." Flood continued, saying words that when walking passed people who viewed Akvan with such hatred, probably didn't help their hunger for revenge on him. Flood blinked rapidly, realising they must have stopped, when the kind woman helping him spoke. Flood's field of vision shrunk, now the sea of white was just a room, rough black lines created a sketch of what the Sun child should be able to see. Perhaps this was to be his vision from now on, everything appearing sketched and surreal. All of it made Flood nauseous, especially when moving once more on his non-existent feet. He fell down onto something soft, eyes looking around and head dropped back, feeling the rest of his body disappear. "Horrible... people... take my friends... away... no more brothers... sisters... now mother... Flood... all alone." Flood continued to slur, head rocking back and forth. He managed to realise that the tickling sensation he felt on his side was real, and was the kind woman, doing something for his burns. "Darkness... coming... must help stop... world in ruin... people dying... my fault... always my fault."

Akvan's maddened speech was really starting to affect Nanari, and she had to fight back going into her own maddened phrase... The only reason why she hadn't yet is thanks to Tulus hugging her, and her need to help Akvan. Adding the last of the healing herb salve to the wound, Nanari looked up to Burea, who was waiting patiently for next instructions. "Erm, mind bringing over a glass of water?" All Nanari could really hear was Akvan's mindless talk, and it really was taking its effect. "Nanari, stay with us alright?" "Course, I'll get you calming tea too... Just don't go out on us as well..." Nodding slightly to the other two, and smiling down to Muchi when he cuddled next to Akvan, Nanari took a deep breath. She had to get him out of whatever panic he was in, sooner rather then later. "Akvan? Can you hear me? I need you to come out of this madness, it will only consume you. Your not alone... It's, not your fault okay... But it will be if you leave, if you let the evil thoughts win..." Nanari really didn't know what to do in this situation, and she could only hope that he would snap out whatever state he was in. "Come back to us..."

Despite his empty, mindless blabber, Flood was beginning to get use to this strange vision. There was some sense, crawling out of the back of his head to try and help reason with this strange new world. His vision, the world of black and white, Flood was beginning to distinguish more shapes. He had a small moment of madness again, when turning to look at his savoir, to see that she was a mint green silhouette, and down to the fluffy thing warming next to him, which was coloured a soft pink. "Soft thing... c-cat... pink soul... kind but shy..." Flood's head dropped back towards Nanari, "Female Human... gentle green.... healing magic... kind soul... can r-remember." Flood could hardly put the pieces together, but what was happening was that his special senses were waking up. He had the ability to see peoples souls, not just their appearance, and see their magic and personalities. A gift only of Sun descent, that was causing Flood's maddened episodes, amongst other things Flood couldn't remember having that was freaking him out. The woman spoke more, all muffled nonsense that was a good as a foreign language to Flood. He closed his eyes, frustrated at himself. What was she saying to him? After helping the infamous man around, surely she'd be saying nice things, and yet Flood couldn't understand. He couldn't remember, his mind so clogged up with this new way of life that Flood was beginning to lose sight of what he'd had before, even the language he'd once known. "Too much... new... must remember old." Flood mumbled, before taking a deep breath. "Remember... brothers... Gensho... Onrah... one dead... now with mother in sky... my heart... with Chester... don't know... where. Friends... Rurushu... Makeru... evil... Itami... forces to kill... don't want to kill... world in pain... return to mother in sky... come back... save everyone." Flood recollected, feeling parts of his memory finally overtake the tsunami of new knowledge. He took one last deep breath before opening his eyes and looking around. It felt weird. Now that Flood was getting over his episode, he couldn't really remember the last ten minutes. He was in a house now, right? "We are... safe?"

Nanari just sat there alongside Tulus and Burea, slipping her tea to help calm her down and whispering soothing thoughts to Akvan as he came down from his episode, running a hand through his hair in a comforting manner in a hope to help. It seemed like ages before he finally came around, and she smiled when he finally opened his eyes. Nanari had blocked out what he was saying once Onrah's name had turned up, his loss still breaking Nanari's heart a little, though the pink skull still rested around her neck on a long chain in case she ever wanted to play. "Well, as safe as one can be with a healer who doesn't know how to fight..." Nanari helped him to sit up, being careful of his wounds, before handing him over the glass of water. "Take small sips, you need to get your strength up... Im Nanari by the way." Smiling slightly to Akvan, she took another swig of her tea, feeling much calmer herself now that Akvan had calmed down. Thanking Burea and Tulus for their help, Nanari let them off to do their own thing, though they hovered nearby, while Muchi settled down for a nap on Akvan's lap. "You feeling okay now?"

Flood looked towards the woman, his vision continuously fluttering between normal, and black and white, refusing to calm down like the rest of him. He swallowed hard, lifting his hands to look at them. The one part of Flood that he wasn't convinced was turning into mist, although they continued to shake and Flood's fingers seemed to bend in weird ways. He'd finally stopped the mad blabbering, but Flood was no where near 'fixed' yet. Next, he needed to comfort his body back into acting normal, convince himself that he wasn't evaporating anymore. He'd recovered enough to remember what words were, and his ears could finally pick up what the woman was saying. "Safe?... yes... no danger yet... if not... I will fight... protect... friend?" Flood tried to reply. He still slurred a lot, but his unconnected words did at least make more sense now. He flinched at the touch, especially in Flood's perspective, Nanari was lifting a body of fog, that Flood himself couldn't properly see or move. He tried taking the cup, holding it awkwardly in one hand, whilst holding onto his wrist with the other to stop himself shaking and spilling water everywhere. Flood took a small sip, as instructed, wincing as it felt weird going down. "Nanari?" Flood repeated, thinking he'd heard that somewhere, before noticing Nanari's necklace. The boy went wide eyed, "Nanari! B-brothers... friend... you help... Onrah... long time... ago." Flood almost yelled, happy that he'd remembered something successfully. Smiling for a moment, Flood dropped it quickly, eyes dropping back into their half-dead state, as the Sun child felt dizzy once more. "I... was... bad person. Akvan... God of disease... not now." Flood glanced to Nanari, before sighing weakly. "Different now... my name is Flood... this is a... new body... still not... used to changes."

Nanari was patient with Akvan, letting him come back on his own, only comforting words to help... Forcing him into coming back would do no help. Smiling slightly though, Nanari nodded and took one of his hands. "I doubt anyone will come looking her for you. So yes, friend, your safe..." Letting go of his hand so her could drink, Nanari made sure too keep at the ready if he needed the help, willing to do what she could without making him seem helpless. She chuckled slightly when Akvan mentioned he heard of her, remembering hearing Akvan's name at some point when with Onrah, "Yeah, I know, knew Onrah." That chuckle died down at the thought of Onrah, wounds one again still too fresh... Especially as she was in the ballroom that night, and had him command his skull to take her away. Nanari remained silent while Akvan... No, Flood explained things a little. She wondered who the new God of Disease was without him, knowing there must be someone... But that would be information she tries to find out another time. "You did what you had to do by the sounds of it... And I suggest rest, and not trying to do too much... Like baby steps... I can help, if you like, though I have no idea what I'll be doing..." Alongside wanting to help, Nanari felt as if she owe it to him for her previous negative thoughts, it was obvious to her now, even from the short conversation, that Flood had never wanted to do such bad things in his previous, body?

Flood could trust what Nanari said. After all, he couldn't even remember coming to this place, so to him it must be pretty well hidden from the terrifying crowd of people from before. That thought made Flood shiver a bit, more than he already was. Those people were dangerous, and they were just one group amongst an entire race that wanted the person with Akvan's face dead. His breath shuddered a little, "Everyone... they hate me... if you help... and don't hate me... then you're in danger." Flood mumbled to Nanari. Honestly, he was thankful to the heavens that were his birthplace that Nanari had helped him, before he went into a full on panic attack in the middle of street, leaving him as bait for any vengeful passer-by. But he didn't want others to now go after Nanari for helping the much loathed Akvan. Flood swallowed, he believe that so strongly, that he was willing to get up onto his fragile, shivering legs and leave to help Nanari never be targeted. It was hard to remember, but Flood could picture his brother Onrah, the happy Demon from his last life. It would take a while to remember everything, but all Flood remembered was Onrah dying, and not the emotions he'd felt at the time. It could be seen as both a good and bad thing for Flood having this memory loss. Flood placed his glass of water on the side to stop his shivering hands from spilling it, and he winced as his head felt like it was twisting into a knot on the inside. He gripped his head, trying not to think to hard on recollecting his past memories, as it was almost pushing the fragile Sun child into another episode. Flood's eyes were squeezed shut, concentrating on the present as Nanari offered him advice. "Baby steps?" He muttered, almost smiling. He was technically new born, this body had only just been formed, so perhaps that added to reasons why Flood wasn't yet functioning properly. Flood looked to Nanari, squinting as his vision was faltering into the confusing, black and white version again. "I don't... deserve help... not until I fix... the world." Flood tried stating, before pursing his lip. "But... this world... is different now... I would like to see it more... like new body... I need to get use to it."

Nanari gave a small smile to Flood, hoping he would soon understand that she was willing to help, "I don't care about that... Fine, im in danger... But if it means anything, like reassurance or anything. I helped people during the Pandemic, and because of that im friends with many of the survivors, so if humans hate me fine, I still have you, and my other friends from the other races, hell, im sure my current human friends wont care... Mavie, Ningen, Chester..." Nanari knew she was rambling again, wanting to help assure Flood that she was fine with helping, and he shouldn't shy away from it because she was in danger, as he put it. Humans were just scared people at the moment because of the Pandemic and such, they weren't thinking rationally. Smiling to Flood, she once again took hold of his hand, hoping he would agree to the help, god knows he needed it, more so a friend then anything else. "Yeah, baby steps." She down casted her eyes at the thought of fixing the world... Not something that can really be fixed by just one person, it would take time to adapt and find others to help... But if Flood wanted to do such a thing, then Nanari would do all she could to help. "You cant fix the world in a day, nor can you do so without help... And you do deserve help, so much of it. How about this, let me help you with this, baby steps into this new life, no complaining, or self loathing... And I help you with 'fixing the world'. Help you find people willing to help, become guidance, even just a friendly face to confine in, that sort of thing..."

Flood could have smiled at Nanari's reply, if he could form much emotion with his face right now. She was the kind of Human that Flood wanted to create everywhere. His own perfect world, one his mother would never be tempted to destroy ever again. Where people forgave and fought together, rather against. Where one didn't care how many enemies they made, so long as their friends were safe, and those enemies weren't given much grudge or notice and all could move on. Nanari said one name that rang through Flood like a wave, and although he didn't really react, a rogue tear fell down his face. Sniffing, Flood picked the tear off his face, trying to contain the emotions better. Chester, the one person Flood would never forget, not matter how many times he was ripped apart and put back together again. Her name came with so much longing, and then an image of her dying as well. Flood tried to shake the thought away. No, perhaps Chester wasn't dead, perhaps she was out enjoying a life not tormented by things such as the Outlaws or Akvan anymore. "Chester... I... miss her." Flood muttered, almost without even thinking over it. If Nanari was Chester's friend, then perhaps she still saw her around, a thought that made Flood lift his gaze. "Is she... still?" Flood began to ask, not knowing what he'd expect to hear in reply. To be honest, alive or dead, Flood didn't think any answer would be good. Because either way, he'd probably never see her again, paths were different now. If Flood wanted her safe, and to keep the world from being destroyed, then leaving her to her life felt like the best option. He felt almost annoyed as Nanari didn't think he could cure the world so soon, but to be honest, after today Flood didn't think he could do anything good for a long while until he'd recovered fully. "World is dying... and I want... to cure it soon... but... Nanari is right." Flood replied, "Help is needed... this world is not... mine... I don't belong here... others do... others deserve to... help save their world... if I start now and fail... then I fail everyone... how would... Nanari... suggest starting?"

Nanari instantly felt bad for mentioning Chester once she saw the lone tear escape from Flood, she didn't know what to tell him to be honest. Chester was alive, but not the one they knew, she was a Demon now... And thinking about it, the next time Nanari saw Chester or Gensho she would have to ask about who was god of disease, but a feeling in the pit of her stomach told her it was Chester... Putting two and two together. But Chester was also different for another reason... She thought a friend of hers was dead, probably Akvan thinking on it now, considering the past couple of years hasn't allowed her to, and Chester changed, became distant and cold to people... Only Gensho, Ruru, Kaku and herself ever got nice treatment from the sounds of things. Taking a deep breath, Nanari knew she couldn't lie to Flood, to Akvan. "Chester is alive... But she's a Demon now... Thinking on it now, im guessing she took your old powers, but I cant be certain, I haven't seen her much... She, lost a friend of hers... Never said who, but im sure I just figured it out... She not who she once was because of it..." Nanari felt horrible for admitting such a thing, but knew it had to be done is Flood was to ever improve, that, and its better to know now rather then later. "I know she misses you, well the friend she lost, who im assuming is you... You should find her when your ready..." Nanari really hoped he would, or she would have to question Chester on things when they next met, but with how she was acting nowadays, Nanari didn't want to over use her chances on remaining a friend to the now cold Demon. Turning her frown upside down, Nanari looked up to Flood, smiling a little, she knew helping the world would take time, but the patience for it would mean much more in the end. But she once more frowned a little at hearing he didn't belong. "This world belongs to you as much as it does me... You deserve to be here. But patience is needed for improvement, and the better the outcome will be the longer you spend helping it. I suggest, you first rest, get use to the body you are in, then, we work on magic, get you strong enough to use it... We then look for people willing to help... Rest wise, you are going to finish that water, get some food into you, whatever you desire... Your going to help me cook it, because I need to see ya smile... And then, im going to recheck the wounds, and we shall go from there... What do ya say?"

The news to Flood felt like it was drowning him with every word Nanari replied with. Chester was alive, so Flood would have to torture himself by resisting to find her again. She was a Demon, which meant she'd been engulfed by the terror of the Pandemic. And the worst thing to hit Flood was that she'd possibly taken his powers. Those powers, the ones to destroy this world once, was now being burdened on Chester, the one person Akvan would have never wanted to place them on. Flood tried to swallow, but felt his throat cramp up. Flood's lips quivered, he'd break down right now, if he didn't fear going into madness again. "I... wanted her to be safe... to be happy somewhere... forget about me... I never did anything good for her." Flood shook his head, no, he couldn't say such things. He needed to forget about the negatives, he wasn't Akvan, he was Flood. Flood the Sun child, the kind soul that felt positive about the worlds future, determined to save it and make everyone feel happy. Flood sighed, "No... she is alive... can ask for no more... but I cannot see her... lives are different now... I don't want to hurt.. her anymore." Flood listened like a child listening to a wise teacher as Nanari gave him her thoughts on how to proceed. To be honest, Flood was hoping to hear from his mother when coming down here, getting information off of her. But the Sun Goddess was absent from Flood's mind, perhaps not to her own doing, but the reality was that he couldn't rely on her advice. Nanari's advice was a good as gold to Flood now, and he listened to every bit. Finally nodding, knowing he would do as she said, no matter how much of it he felt like disagreeing on, Flood took a few more sips from the water left by his side. Flood looked down at his legs, and the rest of his body. He almost grimaced. "My eyes... they're different... I can't see myself, only others." Flood looked to Nanari, still able to see her mint green 'soul' like before. "I can see peoples... souls? Their... magic source... their lives... it makes my vision different... and before... it made me panic when still outside." Things were calmer in the house, because Flood wasn't in such an open space where his strange new way of seeing was massive in distance covering and he picked up so many different colours of souls that it hurt. If he'd not been taken inside, he'd probably have gone even more mad from it all overwhelming him. At least here in Nanari's house, Flood could focus. Going outside again, before he felt ready to control his vision, might cause another unwanted episode. Flood decided to think more on it later, "I will... help Nanari with anything... as thanks... and the way she sees the world is... good. I would like.. to see that... by helping."
