Note: Ten years after the pandemic, and Exitium's sudden rise to power, Mizetto is a young 20 year old Demon. Frankly, not much has change about him. He himself is pretty much the same little brat he was ten years ago... but the things around him have changed significantly, as we are about to reveal in this thread! We are just outside Baransu, towards a mountain range.
A click of his hand, and Mizetto smirked as the floating rock before him grinded and change into a gauntlet. Then, another click and another second later, it had transformed itself into a shield. Once again, and this time a sword, then a helmet. Mizetto rubbed his chin with success gleaming on his smug face. Under a week and he'd already reached his target for training. The strength, quality and now speed of his magic had greatly increased throughout the years since the Demon race was given their new leader, and the reason why soon turned up next to Mizetto. The Demon sighed loudly, hoping the Demon nearby heard him. "King Exitium is awaiting news on your progress..." The slippery Demon underling stated. Mizetto turned, arms folded over his chest, and a scowl that sent a thousand years of anguish at the Demon. "Well tell the old guy that I don't plan on 'updating' him any-time soon. You and all of your fellow shitty underlings can leave me alone. If he wants my help, he can come down of his lazy ass and ask for it." Mizetto spat back, before turning and giving the Demon no more undeserved notice. It was a short pause before the Demon spoke again, and made Zetto's eyes roll. "King Exitium doesn't like to dirty his feet wandering around such an obsolete wasteland."
Mizetto chuckled, "Oh yeah, well his highness should try it sometime, clear that head of his from the overload of hot steam." And with that, the Demon flew off, doing what they always did, report. Sighing, Mizetto commanded his ball of rock, slamming it into a small cliff face to release some of his frustrations. Honestly, no where was safe for Mizetto to get some piece and quiet around here anymore. He was glad Clue wasn't around today, or else the Wolvine would have made quite a meal of Exitium's underlings. Clue was just as annoyed with all of the attention on the young earth magic user as Mizetto was, and was becoming more violent because of it. It wasn't the pestering that was annoying them. It was the fact that it was Exitium of all people, someone Mizetto knew he shouldn't mess with, but also hated more than anyone else. For beating their previous and loving King to the ground and forcing the crown from his head, and now for treating Mizetto with some creepy interest that meant the Demon was always on guard. He wanted Mizetto for... something, and kept hiding it by claiming he wanted the Demon as a God. Mizetto had always dreamed of such an offer and responsibility, but when it came from a guy like Exitium, Mizetto would rather eat dirt.
It was only a matter of time before Exitium stepped his game up in trying to force Zetto into recruitment, but the Demon had experienced five years of this torment now, and didn't expect it to change any time soon. The reason Mizetto 'complied' with Exitium's request to get stronger wasn't directly aimed at pleasing the Demon King. But more for Mizetto own gain. He had his reasons for wanting to be stronger, and the main one was soon to approach from behind him.

Ari had hated the past few years of growing up. With the Angel race nearly dying out and many of the ones dying now becoming Demons under the new kings rule, Ari really got the full force of things thrown onto her... She hated being treated like a child, but even she wished that she had a chance to act that way nowadays, having grown up under less then pleasant circumstances. Having taking up many duties in Aura after the pandemic ten years ago, and helping her father out with personal issues... And dealing with brats that acted younger then the sixteen year old, Ari never really got a chance to relax and hang with friends. Especially when she was often consulted by the bastard kings underlings, either wanting her as a spy because of her strength or converted to their side, she almost had it as bad as the midget. Almost. Heading off, Ari was currently in a hunt for said Midget, having once again be pestered by the bloody underlings about trying to convince him to join Exitium. She was hoping that by finding him, they would perhaps leave her alone for a bit, believing that nothing she said would work against him. That, and she missed talking to her friend, though she still shudders at calling him that, it had been far too long, and she wondered if the midget would finally be able to beat her in a fight, though it was unlikely, especially since Ari practiced her old human clans magic ability. Groaning as she watched Mizetto be pestered once more, Ari did smirk slightly and used his distraction to her advantage, sneaking up behind him and waiting for the other to leave. Taking a couple of silent steps forward, Ari smiled before reaching over and tickling Mizetto's sides, "Still a midget I see... God, I wonder if you can even get any smaller..." Laughing slightly, Ari prepared herself for the hit that was bound to come.

It was frustrating to think that Mizetto's life up until this point hadn't gone how the Demon planned. He'd once believed that one day, Mo would notice the boys greatness, offer him a great job with an accompanying home somewhere in Sohul where Clue could hang out. He'd have complete and utter popularity control of the girls his age, and be adored by every pro-Demon person on the earth. But there were probably only a handful of people who remained pro-Demon after the catastrophe caused ten years back, and Mizetto could hardly take a step down a street with Clue without being attacked. It made the Wolvine all the more aggressive- which Mizetto didn't really want anymore, as well as endless brawls for the young adult- also something he'd grown to dislike. He still loved to fight, but having to sucker punch someone in the jaw every other step did run out of how entertaining it was. Mizetto took another stone from the ground, spinning it around as his eyes dropped to the floor. It really did suck, that the awesome life Mizetto thought he deserved wasn't going to happen anymore. He'd have to grin and bare it, and prepare himself to kick Exitium's ass like all other opposing Demons and people pestered by him once they got their chance.
He pushed his hands into his pockets, his level of skill was high enough to control the floating rock without needing hand gestures anymore, plus Mizetto wanted to add to his gloomy look. He did jump as the stunning feeling tickling up his sides. Apart from Exitium's underlings, Mizetto never really expected to be disturbed during his alone time, let alone by someone tickling him. Hopping forwards and away from the attack, Mizetto turned to glare at who it was. It had finally been enough years for Mizetto to actually smile when meeting up with Ari, not just to look forward to a good fight. But because it was meeting a friend for once. Though, Mizetto did drop his smile to command his floating rock to smash into Ari's smug little face. He threw it slow enough so it would hurt less if it hit, although Mizetto knew for a fact the chance of that happening was near zero. It had felt far too long since meeting the icy Angel, even though Mizetto and Clue still occasionally crashed at hers and Takeo's house. They'd been travelling more lately, hoping to get away from a certain pestering royalty in the sky. Mizetto did bring his smirk back, "I'll have you know, I've a good few inches since last time, squirt, unlike you-" Mizetto paused, blinking twice. He stormed forward, taking a hold of Ari's arms to keep her in place. What he saw made the Demon's face want to melt in frustration. Mizetto shook his head, "No... no no, no way! YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!" He clawed at his hair in anger, before pointing a hand at the cliff-face before him, cracking another massive slab of stone from it. Mizetto took all of his anger out on the cliff, so much and so frequently it was a surprise the thing still existed. Mizetto glared back at Ari, "Since when did you get taller than me, brat?" He growled.

Ari just laughed as he let the rock fly at her, catching it in her hand instead of dodging it before throwing it in the air and catching it again. She knew Mizetto well enough by now that he lessened the impact and knew it wouldn't hit anyways, and as much as she found it sweet of him, a thought she never believed she would have when around him, she did find it a little patronising, Mizetto still thinking she couldn't take full care of herself. She was a little surprised as Mizetto trailed off and stomped towards her, but once she found out why, well, Ari couldn't control her laughter, even falling on the floor in too much laughter, which only intensified as he took his anger out on the cliff. Finally managing to stand up again, wiping the tears of happiness off her face, Ari couldn't help but walk over to Mizetto and swing an arm over his shoulder. They may still argue, but Ari when growing up found a much more amusing way to annoy the midget, by remaining calm in their fights, the complete opposite to him, though she had to admit, there were moments that he managed to really grind her gears and get her angry like old times once more. "What was this 'unlike' me? Because yano, you really are a midget compared to me now... You are actually getting shorter..." Smirking down to Mizetto in amusement, Ari moved back slightly to look at him properly. "Awwh man, older then me but shorter... It's cute." And just to piss Mizetto off, Ari reached forward to grasp him cheeks and squeeze slightly, just like how an old lady would do so to her grandkids... It was far too amusing to watch his reaction.

Mizetto was steaming red in the face at this point. How could he lose the one thing he had over Ari? Now what could he mock her with? Obviously his superior strength, but he could no longer make her face do that funny, irritated thing when he teased her on her height. The Demon growled, trying to shove Ari off the moment her arm snaked around his neck. It was nice to see Ari so happy, since it was a side Mizetto took even more pleasure in destroying when he annoyed her, although he preferred it when her joy was not based off Mizetto's misery. Mizetto really had enough of the teasing, even though he was merely getting repaid for the many many times he'd pained Ari with the same kind of teasing. Having his face grabbed like some little kid really ruffled the Demon's feathers, and Mizetto was quick to try and slap Ari's hands away, stopping the Angel's fun by grabbing hold of one hand. "Quit it tiny!" He barked, already feeling the lose of joy out of calling her any names. "Don't piss me off brat, I'm still the older one, and if I tried, I could kick your ass right back to daddy just like that... just watch me!" Mizetto held a piercing look with the younger Angel, before huffing and letting her arm go. "Don't you understand how wrong this is, brat?" Mizetto asked, before prodding his chest with a thumb, "It ain't natural, the guy's always gotta be taller than the girl in the relationship, because naturally the guy is stronger!" The Demon then pointed his finger accusingly at Ari, "You just ain't natural! That's it, you're some freak of nature that goes against normal, so... so what if you're a few specks taller, I can still destroy you easily, little girl."

Ari just tipped her head back and laughed at Mizetto, it was amusing his anger, and Ari took pride in being the one to make him this angry, where no one else could. And she was already loving the fact that she had yet another thing over Mizetto, beside the fact that they remained on par in fights, despite each others constant blabbering about being stronger then the other. But she took much joy in his misery, and it always seemed to cheer her up when she was feeling down, though the attempt he took to anger her all the time could be avoided, though, that just made things more fun. Laughing once more and Mizetto tried to pry her hands away from his face, she fixed him with an amused by annoyed look. "I'd like to see you try, hobbit. You and I both know im just as strong as you." Ignoring the disappointment when Mizetto let her arm go, Ari took a step back in anger over his next words. "So what if im the taller one in the relationship? That means jack shit to us... We both know im the one who could kick your ass anytime, anywhere." Growling as he yet again caller her a littler girl, Ari clenched her fists and moved position to lean more on one leg. "Your so lucky I love you midget... Cause I would have totally annihilated you for calling me a little girl if I didn't..." One of these days though, Mizetto was going to push his luck and she really was going to hurt him, and as much as they argued and seemed to hate each other, Ari really didn't want to see him hurt.

Mizetto had his spirits lifted a little bit more when Ari seemed annoyed by his statements. Height aside, Mizetto could always pester Ari on being taller than her, and obviously stronger. They hadn't had a good tussle in a while, but Mizetto was confident enough in his new skills so forced onto him by his superiors that he could easily over power the ice princess. It was even more thrilling to know he'd actually got her with his other statement, although, hearing it back in his head made Mizetto blush at one particular comment he might have made. It had just slipped out, and Mizetto used the fact that they'd know each other for over ten years as his excuse. There was no way the two were in a relationship. Sure, Mizetto would care about Ari if she got hurt or something, but that was only because it meant Mizetto would lose a worthy opponent. Mizetto smothered his blush quickly, only for it to return a second later. Did Ari just say what Mizetto thought she said? Because the Demon didn't know how it could have been otherwise. He remained frozen for a moment, almost falling for it, before realising what the girl must be doing. She was pulling his leg, trying to get Mizetto to think she cared, just to catch him off guard. A female trick, one Mizetto didn't have the luxury of using, guys never had the same 'innocent yet romantic' influence girls did. Mizetto chuckled, shaking off Ari's 'trick'. He walked right up to her, which would be more menacing if he was taller, but Mizetto didn't dwell on that. "Oh yeah? Well little miss ice baby, I'd like to see you try. Call me little or small all you want, I'll always be the stronger one, because that's what Demons are like these days, and that's why you weak little Angels are falling deeper into the dirt."

Ari froze when she realised what she said... That was not meant to slip out, and she blamed Takeo for it, after his many nights teasing her over a bet he had with a 'friend' that her and Mizetto would end up together... Because there was no way she loved that stupid but adorable midget, even if her life depended on it... Absolutely no way at all. Instead, Ari focused her attention on the spar she and Mizetto were most likely about to have, It really had been far too long, and after their conversation just now, Ari really needed to take her frustration out on someone, preferably someone with the ability to hold their own against her. And she knew Mizetto fit that want. Looking down, and slightly laughing over that fact, as Mizetto walked over, Ari took a small step back to see the hobbit better, before her eyes glazed over in anger... So. Much. Anger. In that anger, Ari with the intent of hurting, swung her foot up, not thinking about what she was doing, and aimed straight into a place she was aiming to get Mizetto for years... But this time, she wasn't doing it knowing Mizetto would stop her. How dare he make a comment such as that, she could take being called weak, and she could take being teased over it... Hell, she could take having it proven to her. But that comment... That last comment, made Ari madder then she had ever been before. "HOW DARE YOU. My kind was killed, alongside humans ten years ago... I was one who got ill, as did my father... And ever since then things have just gone down hill despite our efforts... My race, my friends, are dying out, and its all your kinds fault... So you have NO RIGHT to make such a comment..." It wasn't until her anger subsided did Ari realise exactly what she did... "Mizetto?"

Mizetto's mind was still glazed over what Ari had said. He was convinced it was a trick, but any young man hearing that kind of thing from a girl that Mizetto could honestly say didn't look half bad would feel something muddle up their mind. And because of that alone, Mizetto wasn't paying attention to what happened after he pushed the wrong buttons in Ari. Mizetto was, after ten long years, starting to feel some regret when he said harsh things. It wasn't much, but the Demon did feel like he wanted to take back the last thing he said. And a second later, he had an even greater reason to want to take it back. That kick, on Ari's part, was probably the best aimed and perfectly powered strike she'd ever landed on Mizetto. For the male Demon however, it would have been less painful to rip his arms off. Mizetto went completely stiff, sucking in air for a split second before coming crashing down on the floor in a little pile. Hand covering the burning source of pain, Mizetto made a little whimpering sound, honestly believing he was about to die. His forehead rest forward on the ground as Mizetto scrunched himself into a little pain ball, hoping this rant of Ari's was the end of her ruthless frustration. He heard his name through the pain bubbling in his head, falling to the side to squint up at Ari. "M-M-Mizetto is dead n-n-now..." The Demon weakly replied, his words in some context ringing true.

Ari covered her mouth with her hands, tears welling in her eyes as she began to shake. She did not mean to do this... Not this badly anyways, but she was so clouded with anger that she had no recollection on what she did... Not until it was too late anyways. Rushing down next to Mizetto, Ari reached out to touch his shoulder gently, hoping that he wouldn't shy from her touch, trying to work out what to do to help... She could only guess what sort of pain he was in right now, and if what she imagined was half as bad, it would only take ten years and plenty of grovelling and gifts for Ari to make it up to him. Realising that probably trying to dull the pain would be the best bet for now. Ari coated her hand in a layer of freezing cold ice before placing it gently over the source of pain, confident enough in her abilities that it would help, even If just a little. "I am so, so sorry Mizetto... Not for hurting you exactly, but for doing so in this way... That was, kind of unfair... I'll make it up to you... However you want... Promise." Leaning down slightly to brush a little bit of hair away from Mizetto's face, before wiping away a couple of tear drops that escaped his eyes... She wouldn't tease him for crying, not because of this.

It was hard to even focus on anything but the pain, and the tears uncontrollably welling up in Mizetto's eyes felt like they were blinding him. It really wasn't a joke that he felt dead, this was by far the worst pain he'd experienced, and deep down Mizetto was disappointed that Ari had finally hit her target. Mizetto couldn't count how many times she'd tried to hit him there of all places, right from when they first met till now, and it didn't take much to know why Mizetto was usually very cautious around Ari. Today he'd slipped up, being surrounded by her new height difference, and what she'd said, and now he was paying for it. And the price for this slip up was bound to last a good week or so. The Demon didn't even try and make it seem like he wasn't in extreme pain, and continued to rock slightly back and forth, shuddering when Ari came closer. She'd probably gained a new sense of respect from the Demon, but probably not under the right circumstances, for it seemed even Ari was regretting the last few moments. He felt livid at her for this kind of punishment... what he'd said was harsh, but nothing was worth giving a man this kind of revenge. Exhaling sharply when he felt something cold placed over the area of pain, Mizetto could admit it felt a little better. "U-u-unfair? T-that was... fucking evil." Mizetto mumbled, groaning again. This really was unfair, it wasn't like any other time when Ari had hit him. There was nothing he could do to her that would bring her this kind of pain, other than kill her. Mizetto breathed heavily, before suddenly freezing, holding his breath as he realised something. It was true, what Ari was doing to help him right now did feel like it was making the pain a little better, but there might be another reason for that. Mizetto went bright red, "H-hey Ari, do you... do you know w-where your h-hand is right now?"

Ari remained shaking, she really didn't mean to hurt him this much. And she knew that Mizetto was right in saying that it was pure evil and not just unfair. But she couldn't change what she did, and Mizetto should have known by now not to push the wrong buttons, considering this was normally the result. Reaching up to wipe away another few tears, Ari made the ice on her hand a little colder to help. "You pissed me off and I wasn't thinking... So yes, it was evil, but I didn't realise what I was doing." Rolling her eyes, Ari thought she would have to at least try and defend her actions, even if she did admit she was sorry for what she did. But when Mizetto once again spoke, Ari's face turned more red then a tomato, and she froze in place. In hindsight she probably should have moved her hand away, or done something other then freeze, but what else was she to do when realising such a thing. "Err. I d-d-d-do n-n-now..." Feeling most of her face and body carry on heating up, Ari realised she still hadn't moved... And yet she couldn't force herself to, body remaining frozen in place... "At, err, least let me know if its helping... The, the coolness I mean... Yeahh..."

There were plenty of awkward encounters Mizetto could think of that were similar to this situation, all of which happened to include Ari. He could remember all of the things he'd said as a kid, going red randomly in the middle of public as he'd realize how bad they'd sounded. Honestly, apart from the fights and arguing, Mizetto's and Ari's story had been a really awkward one. And this moment topped them all. Worst of all was that Ari hadn't moved yet, and Mizetto couldn't squirm away right now. Though, despite his blood red face, Mizetto couldn't help but smirk at Ari's reaction. It was an adorable shade of red, even though Mizetto probably didn't look much better. "I-it feels... nice." Mizetto attempted to jest, before it got colder, and the Demon was made to remember how bad this situation was for him as well. Mizetto winced a little, "W-w-well yeah, the ice i-is helping... but..." Mizetto trailed off, he seriously couldn't even fathom words to describe this kind of situation. Just what kind of meet-up was this? It was turning out to get progressively worse and worse, and Mizetto didn't know if he could even look at Ari, not whilst she was still...'helping' him.

Ari couldn't shake the red off her face, nor could she still make herself move despite the... Predicament they found themselves in. She wouldn't deny the fact she kind of didn't want to move, wondering exactly how and what Mizetto would say or do in this situation. But despite that wonder, she wouldn't deny the awkwardness of the situation and the want to get out it, but the curiosity on Mizetto's reaction won, besides it could always be used as blackmail in the future. "Good, that's... Err, good." She felt a little bad when she saw Mizetto wince, but even she knew it wasn't from pain, and she felt herself smirk to herself before thinking that this would be amusing to say the least. Managing to sort out her own blush, Ari looked down at Mizetto, oh how he would be killing her for this later. "But? I don't know what you mean, Zetto, your going to have to explain..." She knew he would get what she was doing, but the opportunity was far too good to pass up, besides they had been in many awkward situations before... This just happened to be the worst, and despite that, Ari would have her fun teasing Mizetto.

Mizetto didn't look good. Red in the face, sweat and tears dripping down his face. All because, for some reason, Ari still hadn't moved. Just what the hell was she aiming for here? Was she really trying to help, or was there something else to this girl. He should have known she'd throw it back at him, there was no way Ari could be nice to him for long, even though she'd apologised for the kick. Now she was forcing the current issue in her favour, and Zetto felt mad at letting her get what she wanted. She wanted to tease Mizetto until he cracked some more, but not in a physical way this time. And he was doing what she wanted, trying to squirm away, although it hurt to much to move. "I-I mean.... i-it's not like I... sh.. shut up! You know d-damn well what I meant!" The twenty year old hated this Angel with a passion, age never helped. In fact, it made the situations so much worse, because Ari knew exactly what could be done to make things awkward for the older Demon. "N-now would yah m-m-move the damn hand already!" The Demon barked out. If Ari wasn't going to stop, 'handling' him on her own, then Mizetto would try himself, and stop this devil woman before she got anymore off of him.
