"How many?" The dockworker asked up to Makeru. The fallen Angel sat on the edge of his ship, bobbing slowly as he waited in the harbor. Mak chew the last of his apple, "3 barrels, what's the problem? I'm paying you double for simply putting them on my ship." The dockworker placed his hands up high. "No no! Sir, I didn't mean I wasn't able to help, i-it's just not many people ask for three barrels full of apples, especially on a small, single maned ship." Makeru's mouth contorted as he chewed on the core, finally nodding at the man. "Yeah well, I spend a lot of time up in the clouds, ain't any apple trees up there." Smiling slightly, Makeru got up, small bag of Sundrip shaking on his hip. Picking up another apple from his small supply, Mak eyed the worker as he chewed again. The man fumbled with his hands before hauling the first barrel on board. The next two soon followed, each one causing the ship to bop just a bit lower. Makeru had finished his apple by the time the man had finished, snoozing against the ship's mast. Opening one eye, Makeru grinned at the juicy, fat barrels in front of him, and slowly got up.
He unclipped the bag of cash and tossed it over to the man. "Cheers. There's more than what's needed in there, some go buy something nice for the wife," Makeru tapped his finger to indicate that he'd noticed the man's ring, "she's probably missing you wish all the time you spend filling docks." The dockworker seemed to chuckle, nodding his cap to Makeru. He probably viewed Makeru as a strange man. A guy with a phantom weight on his side that caused him to lean, and who spent all his time in the high clouds. Simple Human, he had no idea the life Makeru led. A stretch and a yawn, Makeru sat back down against the ship's mast, preparing to nap for the rest of the time he'd been given in the docks. Why waste the time and fly now when he could sleep and go later. It wasn't like Mak had anywhere to go, and no thief who knew their trade would try and steal from a ship stocked purely on apples.

Ru had been thrown the task of trying to recruit a outlaw from Itami, and after weeks of searching for the Angel, he finally managed to find him refilling his ship with apples. Sneaking on-board was hardly difficult, it was facing the Outlaw that could cause the problems, many had attempted to recruit him before, and so far no such luck. It was finally given priority to Ru to do so himself, but if Makeru refuses once again... It will be all his fault, and he would have failed Itami, so he wasn't exactly happy about being given the task. Taking a seat on the ground, wings and tail hidden, and arms folded neatly on his lap, Ru waited for Mak to be ready for confrontation. It was sometimes hard to believe he was an outlaw, with how kind he could be to some people, but remembering how he was cast out remained as a steady reminder. As Mak made his way to rest, Ru set about how he would go about things. It was wrong to deceive an Outlaw, but if things were not going his way, he would have to resort to doing such a thing. Though in the end, he decided to wing it and hope for the best. Taking a slow but proud walk over, Ru barely even stopped to pick up an apple and take a bite, the taste was sour, but not unpleasantly so. "Makeru, Itami is once again looking for you. You cannot keep putting off this meeting, nor will she take no for an answer." Rurushu's face remained stoic, but inwardly he was smiling, even if he did fail today, Itami would not, and that thought alone was going to push him to do all he could.

Mak's eyes moved under his heavily lids as he heard someone come on board. The unique crunch of one of his apples made Makeru smile. "I do hope you enjoy the apple, it's no golden apple, but you can get a lot of regular ones for cheap up here." Makeru opened his silver eyes finally to see the tall form staring down at him. He recognized the face from somewhere, but wasn't bothered to remember where. Until the guy mentioned Itami. Makeru rolled his eyes, sighing as he slowly got to his feet. "You're Rurushu right? One of Itami's minions?" Mak folded his arms, grabbing a couple of apples for himself and almost swallowed them whole. "Listen, don't think I'm refusing because you're almost a group of only Demons. It's real rare for an Angel to be an outlaw, but I don't really care. I also don't care for this 'righteous' purpose you guys got going on. I'm sick on being treated like some sort of prize waiting to be won by you people." It was true. Angels were very rare to become outlaws. Simply because the lives they lived were full of kindness and good. There was little reason to kill, where as Demons were more savage and much more likely to take lives. As far as Makeru knew, he was the only 'fallen' Angel currently alive. Which meant he would be the only one capable of using light magic easily for Itami's happy little gang of Outlaws. That was why he was a prize for them, everyone wanted the little one-winged ex-Angel on their team, and Makeru was fed up on being begged by outlaws. Makeru didn't know if he should feel in danger about this meeting. He was always ready for the outlaws to try and recruit him by force. It had happened before after all, and ended with one member of the fight leaving with spasming muscles and electrified hair.

Ru just rolled his eyes, he was expecting this after all. He had refused on many different occasions, and it had gotten to the point where Itami had to stop sending the weakling to do their work, many had come back in shape worse for wear. "Im not just here for Itami, though she is becoming very insistent. We believe you will e a very valuable asset, as will you be treated as an equal. We do not view you as a prize to be won, but a colleague." Ru finished the apple and threw the core over board before finding a place to sit, if he was going to be here a while, he may as well get comfortable. "Itami is not going to stop until you have been recruited, and trust me, if she is the one to convince you, things will not turn out well. Her patience is running thin." Which wasn't a total lie, nor truth either, Itami was becoming impatient, but she would find a productive way to 'convince' Mak to join, whether he likes it or not. "So tell me, is there anything we can offer that may persuade you?"

"I'm not just here for Itami, though she is becoming very insistent. We believe you will be a very valuable asset, as will you be treated as an equal. We do not view you as a prize to be won, but a colleague." Makeru huffed, shaking his head to the side. "So I'm not a prize, but I'm also a 'valuable asset'?" The Angel smiled, moving to look out into the vast skies of Sora as Rurushu continued to try and sprinkle pretty dust over the unwanted recruitment. There was honestly nothing Makeru could think of to gain from joining the outlaws. He'd nothing to gain from their overall goal, whatever the hell that was, nor did he have the effort within him to join a campaign like that. Although he was undeterred on his refusal, hearing about Itami did make Makeru a little nervous. She was a strong Demon God. And it wasn't like Makeru still had his Guardian powers. A fight against the Goddess of Sin wouldn't end well for Mak. "So tell me, is there anything we can offer that may persuade you?" Makeru glanced to his barrels of apples, hesitating before shaking his head. No, not even apples were worth selling his soul for these Demon outlaws to use to their freewill. Sighing, Makeru remained silent, hopefully sending Rurushu the message that he wasn't about to change his mind, no matter the reward.

If Ru was being honest with himself he hoped Mak would give a thing to wager on, but alas that was not the case. And he was reluctant to be cruel to Mak, as he had nothing against him, but the need to please Itami came first, and he was soon coming up with a plan, Itami would hopefully approve with, and not harm Mak. "What about if we offer protection to your sister? Itami is hell bent on destroying all Angels and Humans alike... We can leave her out of the whole ordeal. Wouldn't you like that?" Even as Ru spoke, he felt terrible in several different ways, was it right to wager someone's sister? He guessed not, but it was too late now. Even with the inner conflict, Ru kept a poker face, and watched for the reaction of Mak... This may be the only way to convince him without force, and one wrong move could destroy the whole attempt.

"What about if we offer protection to your sister? Itami is hell bent on destroying all Angels and Humans alike... We can leave her out of the whole ordeal. Wouldn't you like that?" Makeru close his eyes. Damn, he'd hoped they wouldn't bring that up. A part of Makeru deep down wanted to blast lightening right through Rurushu's brain at the very mention of Mak's dear sister. But the Makeru currently on the surface didn't care for unnecessary violence. Instead, Mak took a deep breath, opening his eyes only to keep them fixed on the horizon. "If I'm honest with you, I have no clue is Shori is even still alive. Last I saw her, she was as limp as a fish, being lifted away by Angels. She's not visited me, and I feel like maybe that's because she can't anymore." Makeru didn't believe his sister was dead. It would take a lot more then a few Angel Hunters to kill the strong Guardian woman, but he couldn't help the doubt. Makeru pushed off the side. "And if she is alive, she clearly doesn't care about me anymore so.... so why should I care about her?" Rurushu could have won, but Mak was determined to remain a hard nut to crack. The fact that Itami planned to kill all Angels was daunting, especially picturing Shori being hurt. Makeru sighed heavily, before suddenly slamming his hand down on the side of the boat. "No Mak, no you idiot. Don't let that bitch be the reason to force you into becoming Itami's lap dog," Makeru mutter to himself, "She left you, she left you struggling on this hellhole of a realm, trapped with one wing and a bunch of hunters messing with you like a cat with a damn mouse." Makeru paused for a few good long moments, finally taking a deep breath and smiling to himself. No, Rurushu would have to try better than that.

Ru smirked slightly, it seemed he hit a soft spot, and Itami would be most pleased if she got a hold of this blackmail. Contemplating his next move, he almost missed when Mak lost it, but Ru sat calmly and waited for the storm to pass before is next attack, he could do nothing better than find the weakness within ones heart. "We have Outlaws watching over all Angels and Demons. Your sister is alive, why, I happen to remember seeing her recently... She was banned from seeing you again, by I know not who, but they feared she would join you in banishment." None of this was entirely true, but he knew she was alive, Ru was the one issued to watch over the outlaw's sister, in a hope to use he in such a way when the time was right. "Like I said we can assure her protection, hell, I may even be able to convince Itami to let you be the one to protect her." They were playing a game of cat and mouse themselves, but the question was, which was going to win?

Makeru chomped down three more apples as Rurushu blabbered on for a few more minutes. Ru was a damn good actor, and liar. He had almost all of his facts straight, and clearly got the hint that Makeru's attachment to his sister was strong. Not as strong as it had once been, but Makeru would still sacrifice a wing for his sisters protection. But there was one thing about that. Makeru turned to face Rurushu, holding out a hand. Instantly, his hand was covered in blue lightening, the electric bolts created a web across the ship. Mak smiled, "You paint a pretty picture Ruru, there's just one thing you're not getting. This is about half of the power I used to have... my sister still contains all of it. If you think she'd just fall over and die, your wrong, and anyone trying to 'protect' her would be in for a bloody surprise." Makeru let his lightening die down, before it drew too much attention to them. Makeru grinned, nodding his head respectfully. "I care a lot for Shori, hell I lost a wing and my freedom just trying to protect her. And I want her to live, even if she doesn't want me in that life... but that doesn't mean I should interfere in the life she has now. Perhaps you don't get it Rurushu, but there's more than one way to protect someone: You can protect their life by standing in the way of danger, or protect their life by letting them live it, with or without you." Shori's decision to live separate from Makeru was her choice, and the brother knew that his sister always longed for life away from him. "And don't think of blackmailing me by threatening to kill her either, because that woman won't die until Dranar freezes over."

Ru almost froze to the spot when Mak found a way to bite back, it was not something her was expecting, and yet he admired him for showing such courage. He picked up another of the apples and took a bite while contemplating his next move. Itami would stop at nothing to get Mak on their side, and yet even with his sisters life in the balance, he did not break. Itami wouldn't be too pleased with what Ru decided to do next, but hopefully her trust in him would counteract it, and she would begin to understand. "Fine, you win. I admit, Itami, regardless on how powerful they are, would find a way to take her down. But perhaps using your sister as blackmail was a long shot. Either way, if I leave here without you joining our side, Itami will come for you, and will stop at nothing to get you. That is a promise." Ru did not wish for things to turn out this way, he actually liked Mak, and that was a rare thing to happen. But Itami was hell bent on having him in her rebellion, and really would take things too far if need be. "And regarding your sister, I've seen her in battle, and your right, she does protect herself pretty well, always getting stronger."

There was no doubt his sister could defend herself. And if not, she had the entire legion of Angel Guardians to back her up. Makeru used to be a part of that group, and so he knew how determined they were to defend one another. Mak smiled as Ru backed off, his grin only faltering when the Demon took another apple. This wasn't some free buffet, and Ru didn't look the type to enjoy the sweet fruits other than just to look more annoying. Mentioning Itami again made Makeru want to shudder. He'd no idea why he feared that woman so much. She was just as strong as him. But there was something missing in that corrupt head of hers that made Mak want to avoid fighting the Demon Goddess. She lacked the impulse to stop. No matter what cost, Itami was prepared to pay it to get to what she wanted. And Makeru didn't want to be caught up in her cost. Mak leaned against the boat side, sighing deeply. He really didn't want a part in this rebellion, it sounded like too much effort for the lazy Angel. But there was something ticking in the back of his head, something Makeru regrettably couldn't shake off. "True, my sister's always getting strong, I couldn't even lay a scratch on her before, and would probably end in shreds if I tried now." Makeru commented, trying to smile. He held a long stare at Rurushu, before wincing. "Listen Ruru, I haven't got anything against you, and believe me, a part of me wants to do something in favor of the Outlaws. But I just can't, it's just not me." As odd as it sounded, Makeru didn't want any trouble to come to Ru, since Itami, as Rurushu said, wouldn't be pleased if he returned empty handed. And so, a part of him wanted to give in, but it was a small part indeed. Makeru rubbed his neck, thinking for another long moment. "What exactly are you planning anyway? And don't say 'only members of the rebellion can know' because if you truly think you'll get me to join today, you'll have to tell me eventually anyway."Hint: Explain the plan; exactly what is, (or rather who is), gonna be used to kill off angels

Ru was surprised to say the least when Mak asked what they were planning, very few who they tried to recruit actually asked the question before joining. But he was pleased to answer none the less. "Tell anyone of these plans, and Itami will not hesitate to kill you herself. Long story short, she is planning to use a deadly disease to kill of those in Sohul and Aura, or at least weaken them to the point where they cannot defend themselves. And I'll give you one guess as to who Itami is unwillingly and unknowingly to them recruiting right now. And I believe she has another trick up her sleeve, but that's not one she is currently sharing with anyone, even myself." Ru always got a tight feeling in his chest whenever he told one the plan, though he could never tell if it was a nice feeling or not. As part of him felt bad fro the use of Akvan in their plans, he was a good Demon in every right, and Ru knew of the pain he would go though if made to do something he doesn't want. But at the same time, happy, Demons, Angels and Humans alike all deserved what was coming to them, and he was glad to be helping to command it all. As for what else Itami has planned, that's a mystery to even him, was slowly eating at him. He trusted Itami with his life, but knowing part of her plan was secret, made him a little weary of what was to emerge. "So what do you think of our little plan?"

Makeru shrugged his shoulders, smiling slightly. "I don't know anyone to tell them too even if I wanted to gossip." Mak admitted. He spent so much time alone in the clouds, the only people he talked to were the happy dockworkers who stocked his ship every now and then. Admittedly, Makeru had been tempted to join the Outlaws. He refused to believe it himself, but the part of him that was still broken by the betrayal of his kind wanted revenge. And no matter how long Makeru could bury those feelings with ideas like, being ignorant is more blissful, he couldn't stop his hands itching for that revenge. But hearing the plan, exactly what, or who was going to be used, Makeru felt himself break all hesitation. Mak went slightly pale. "The Demon God of Disease huh? The one guy all of Aura looks at with a weary eye." Makeru admitted. It was a secret amongst the Angel race, even Queen Tenshi didn't know much of it. But the Guardians once held meeting to discuss their views on the current world balance, and Akvan the God of Disease was a topic frequently coming up. Makeru swallowed hard. He thought for a long time, ten apples worth of minutes as he contemplated what this plan meant for him. Who it would affect, who could Makeru save and who could he make pay for his right wing and years of playing prey down in Sohul. Finally, the ex-Angel sighed, looking at Rurushu. "I have a few requests... one, if she is in fact alive, I don't want my sister harmed in this plot of yours. Two, I'm not to be treated like some light magic tool for you Demons to use in tough situations. Three, when things are all said and done, I want no more ties with any of the Outlaws, and my ship is not to be touched or used in any plans." Makeru stated, face emotionless. When he was done, Mak sighed as if frustrated, and tossed Ru another apple. "Other than that... I guess you have an Angel in your little army, congrats."

Ru gave Mak a smile before taking a bite of the apple tossed at him. Things went easier than he thought, though he couldn't exactly promise those things to Mak, not without consulting Itami first. "I cannot promise you anything right now, but what I can promise is to do all in my power to make sure Itami accepts the requests. Will that suffice for now? If so then welcome to the Rebellion, meetings are held in Rycora every week at the least... Our next one happens to be tomorrow, so feel free to turn up and send your requests to Itami In front of everyone... You may have a better chance of having them fulfilled if others agree too." Rurushu finished the apple and threw the core over the side of the ship. At least he didn't fail to get Mak joining, he would not be able to explain to Itami that he failed such a task if it came to that. Not after everything they had been through.

Makeru felt like he was being partly forced, but his mind was set after the long moment of inner debate he'd had earlier. Sighing, the Angel returned to his seat against the mast. "Fine, I suppose your word will suffice for now... I don't expect all my demands to be met, you are Demons after all." Mak mumbled, eyes closed. Being Outlawed meant the Angel had no sense of non-discrimination like the rest of his race. Sighing again, Makeru glanced to the dock managers, one of which eyeing him. Mak huffed, "Yeah well, I'll try to make it. If you want, I can fly us near it now, so I can know where to go." Makeru suggested, pulling himself to his feet to move to the front of the ship. The only problem with his kind of airship was that it was controlled by mind, and so maneuvering out of a dock was a lot harder than with a wheel.
