Whether it was due to the line of clouds or how high up Hane currently was, but the sunset always looked different from Hikari. A good different. Under the influence of their blue and golden clouds, the sun set on the surface of Hikari with a soft pink-ish glow. Hane sat on the stone steps of a temple, sharpening one of his blades as he watched the glowing globe descend. This was all part of the Angel's routine at this time of night. Unless his duty was sorely required by the Queen's side, Hane allowed his spare time to be taken up by gazing upon the sunset. It felt like saying good-night to the Sun Goddess herself, and thus Hane felt a duty to watch her depart each night. It was she, along with the benevolent Queen, that kept Hane breathing today after all. Hane sighed, clipping his blades together and placing them over his back. A flap of his tattered wings and Hane was airborne. Yet another routinely visit was up next. This time, Hane soared towards a particular floating island that housed a small field of grass. It was on this secluded island that Hane had once made three memorial graves. The Angel landed gently, facing the pink sun as well as the three stones.
He moved to kneel before the grave, as he did every time he came here. "Hey guys." Hane said plainly, moving to sit down on the soft grass as if about to share a picnic. "Sun looks good tonight, as usual." Hane's golden eyes were fixed on the sun as it dropped lower, sinking below Aura. He then lowered his head, closing his eyes slowly. "I suppose you three are dropping down with the sun right? That's apparently where we go when we die." Hane said, opening his eyes to look up at the dark blue night sky that was also falling down onto them. "I know it's pointless me paying respects to you now, since it's been way passed all of our lifespans since it happened. But I guess I much prefer having this routine then neglecting it." Standing up slowly, Hane stretched his arms out. "If none of that had happened, I guess we'd all be resting on the Sun right now, but there no point me wishing for something so selfish. I've got to be grateful for what I've got, and I will be, even if it takes an eternity to show that gratitude." Hane's little 'talks' to the grave stones weren't really for anyone's benefit but his own. It was like receiving therapy, or a pep talk of sorts. Either way it was looked at, it made every next day a little easier to face for the immortal Angel. Hane sighed, looking at his friends, "I suppose we could all watch the sun fall completely." He suggested, walking passed the graves to sit on the edge of the small island, eyes gazing down at the setting sun. Despite his hidden wishes, being stuck in Aura wasn't so bad. At least the sunset looked better from the clouds.

Tenshi was taking the rare day off for herself. Visiting areas of Hikari that he hadn't properly visited in years, and old friends. Her last stop of the evening was the visit to three of her children, ones that to this day she wished she reached sooner, wished she did a better job of being queen and protected her people. But these were such negative thoughts and she did not wish to visit with such a mood, they deserved to be remembered for who they were, rather than how they died. Hovering a small distance from the graves, Tenshi watched as Hane spoke to them. She did not wish to interrupt, nor did she wish to impose, for she knew how he felt. He was the only survivor of the four. When Hane moved to the edge of the small island, Tenshi made her visit.. The island she made sure would house only these three, as this was where they often played as children, she felt as if they deserved such treatment, even if they themselves could not enjoy it. Tenshi did not speak, there was little for he to say, though she did lay a single kiss to the top of each headstone before moving to sit next to Hane. "I remember when you use to play as children here. Imagining what your futures as Angels will be like, I can still see the joy on each of your faces, still hear the laughter in the air."

Hane had managed to become bored of watching the sun fall, and instead slumped back, lying down as he looked directly up. The darker night sky folded over the world like a bed-sheet. Bemused, Hane watched a few small clouds move in the same direction as the dark sky, wondering over which one would outrun the other. He was almost nodding off when the voice came from next to him. Probably to the Queen's amusement, Hane quickly jumped to his feet with arms out in defense, a clueless look over his face for a moment as if he'd expected an attack. Realizing who it was, Hane dropped to his knee, "Forgive me your majesty, I was simply taking a moments rest, I am ready for service whenever it is required of me." The guard's selective hearing had barely acknowledged the Queen's statement in the panic of the moment, and so it took a few moments for Hane to register his reply. "If I am permitted to speak, I... I'm sure they are still in high spirits as they look down on us, or at least that is how I hope to see it your majesty." Feeling he had knelt long enough for the respect to be known, Hane relaxed himself a bit, moving back to sit on the island's edge. Hane thought back to the time with his friends. It was a fuzzy memory, after all these years filling up Hane's mind, but he could remember the feelings. The joy after each mission completed and the excitement for facing the next. His friends truly had a habit of enjoying every moment of living, and it rubbed off on Hane when around them. "I have to thank them like this, every day I must honor their sacrifice, and I thank you Lady Tenshi. Your grace was the one who created this island for them, and it truly is a fitting place to rest and watch the sun."

Tenshi slightly chuckled at the reaction. Though she felt bad for ruining the peaceful atmosphere for the moment. "Hane, im your friend first and for most, please call me Tenshi. And you do not need permission to speak, nor must you feel as if you must be at my every beg and call. You are right, they are probably watching over us, but at the same time, I still believe they are here with us.. With you. And that will never go away." She returned her gaze to the falling sun, and basked in the beauty that she rarely got to enjoy properly, before re looking over to Hane when he once again spoke.
"My dear child, this here was all you, for your loyalty and friendship to them. And im sure they would rather watch as you carried on happy, rather than honouring their sacrifice. Don't you think?" Tenshi always wished that Hane would take a moment truly for himself, not with unhappy thoughts, nor during training. But an unguarded relaxful moment to be his true self again. Maybe she would have to be crafty and find a way for him to have that moment, if even for a second..

The formalities came naturally to Hane now. He'd called Tenshi by them for over a hundred years, and that wasn't likely to change no matter how many times the guard was reminded. Tenshi words felt like a scolding however, and Hane nodded in a rather childish manner for someone so old. He tried to act more informally, but then it just didn't feel right. Just like happiness, tragically, didn't feel to Hane's character anymore. He was a servant to the pair that saved him, the Sun and Queen Tenshi. Acting too friendly felt like he wasn't serving them properly. Hane listened to the wise words of the Queen, nodding along. Hane's compulsive need to put others before himself, it was a hard shell to crack through. "Perhaps you are right Lady Tenshi. But I am happy, despite how I may picture myself, life in itself is happiness is it not?" The sun was low enough that they would have to lean down to follow it, and Hane did for a moment before looking at Tenshi. "I trust that your presence in such a peaceful state is news that current affairs are going well?" Hane asked curiously.

Tenshi rolled her eyes at the repeat o the formalities. She didn't know why she tried anymore, as it was always the same old song and dance between them. She knew why he felt as if he needed to do so, and she still felt as if he had done his part to help. All she wanted was for him to truly be happy. "There is more to happiness then just living. We ourselves shape it, and bring forth happiness in ways we may not know. Just like a birth, final moments, and memories that we would not change for anything."
She had to take a breath before answering that question. For things were not all peaceful, despite the blind illusion that it was, herself and Mo both knew something was hiding in the shadows thanks to the Outlaws, but neither could figure out what, and keeping it under wraps to others was the only path they could currently take, though they had several on the look out for such activity. "Honestly my dear child, not everything is in its most peaceful state. But even the queen needs days to forget her duty for a moment and find her own tranquillity before dealing with the affairs." She did not know what compelled her to tell Hane such a thing, but she knew she could trust him with absolutely anything.

OOC: Honestly, if you didn't know Hane's past he'd seem like some sort of goodie-goodie, posh servant xD
They could squabble all day on what they pictured happiness as. Whilst Hane was openly accepting of all the Queen's theories, her idea of joy and happiness was different to Hane's. Perhaps it was because of her supreme knowledge, but for someone like Hane, he struggled to get to grips with what being truly happy was. For someone who'd lived two lifetimes already, Hane was in no rush to find the meaning either, it wasn't like he was going anywhere. Immortality was a difficult life to live, Hane didn't know how her majesty could bare such a burden. Living on whilst everyone else coiled and died like autumn leaves, leaving nothing but memories for those left behind. And for someone to live so long, and be filled with so many memories, it would only be natural for some memories to slip away. Hane would have asked for an end to his eternal life, should his duty not be so apparent. He wasn't just the personal guard, he was the person that wouldn't die, the person Tenshi wouldn't just keep as a memory. It was Hane's duty to stay living, and keep the Queen living, which was hard for someone who view their own life with little respect.
Hane wasn't sure if his question hit a sore spot. He wasn't blind or deaf, the Angel knew all too well what troubles faced the realms currently. Just when things looked peaceful, the entrance of outlaws came to be. Honestly, Hane didn't know whether he liked the new rule set out by the two spiritual realm leaders, but if his Queen decided something then it wasn't Hane's place to judge or comment. Hane nodded, feeling guilty for letting all this weight fall on the Angelic ruler without knowing how to take some of the burden himself to help. "Just when things looked calm. Peace seemed to bloom for a century, and then more trouble finds itself at our borders." Hane muttered, looking down at the realm below the clouds. The Angel sighed to himself, finally shuffling to his feet. "Your highness, since the sunset falls elsewhere, would it please you to receive proper relaxation? I know certain places of particularly reflective and inspiring sights. Or perhaps a meal best suits you Lady Tenshi? I'm sure I and the castle cooks would be honored to create whatever your tastes desire." Hane fancied himself as a cook around fifty years back. If there was one fortunate thing about immortality, it was that there wasn't ever a moment where time wasn't in its plentiful. If Hane wanted to learn something new, he had all the time in all three worlds to practice and learn it.

Tenshi looked towards Hane and sighed. She knew it wasn't easy for him, and his views drastically changed that fateful day. Though she never stopped trying. But it wasn't just that, she did not wish for him to feel as if he needed to do anything for her, being able to save him was the greatest thing she could have done, so watching as he beat himself up on a regular basis was not what she wanted. Though she still does not know what to say to extinguish such thoughts. "Peace cannot last forever, no matter how hard we try. All we can do is protect those when the peace is lost."
Tenshi breathed in as the night air began to fill the atmosphere, this was always one of her favourite moments, when all seemed calm and anew. Which was ironic considering she was an Angel... Finding tranquillity in the darkness. "You know Hane, I would love for a meal with you. I haven't had your cooking in years. I would offer to help, but I believe all races know how that went the last time. But I will do what I can. As for what, a surprise may be in order.." She gave Hane a smile and stood, offering out a hand towards him. Against all the things she found the most relaxing, sometimes spending time with friends, even if its not particularly relaxing all the time, had always been her favourite thing to do. And it had been far too long since herself and Hane managed to spend such tie together.

"You know Hane, I would love for a meal with you. I haven't had your cooking in years. I would offer to help, but I believe all races know how that went the last time. But I will do what I can. As for what, a surprise may be in order.." For a second, Hane smiled at the remark of the Queen's own cooking. Now that was a good night. Perhaps she'd become intrigued in the new skill her personal guard had picked up, or wanted to surprise her Demon dinner friend, but watching the Queen try to cook was possibly Hane's greatest memory since he recovered. Things put simply, cleaning vegetables with soap and serving soup on the ceiling was a method Hane had never heard of before. "You really don't need to trouble yourself to help your highness." Hane admitted, although he wish for otherwise. Breaking passed the formalities, it would be a great amusement to watch the Queen attempt anything close to cooking again. "Your highness doesn't need to trouble herself. But if it pleases you, then perhaps I could assist in teaching a few tricks in the cooking craft?" She could always retry at making a soup or something. Hane wasn't planning on handing her the majority of the meal, since it was supposed to be a surprise. That was all if she indeed wanted to help. Hane stood up and looked around at the night sky. Face emotionless once more, Hane offered to take the lead in the flight back to somewhere with a kitchen. One of the many nearby temples held a magnificent kitchen unit, used mostly during festival celebrations when many Angels gathered to share a meal. Hane led them to the entrance, watching and waiting for the Queen to land before entering the building. First things first, Hane bowed slightly before the main worshiping stone in the temple's center, paying respects to the Sun Goddess. Hane did the same thing for every temple. The religious buildings all belonged to the Sun Goddess after all, so it was only polite to thank her before borrowing a building. Hane entered the kitchen, looking at the barely lit room. Clasping his hands together, Hane's eyes lit up as he cast a spell between his hands, creating a small orb of light that floated into the center of the kitchen. He glanced to the Queen, nodding once before moving further into the kitchen to wait to see if she wished to join in.

Tenshi couldn't help but let out a huge grin when Hane smiled himself. It was rare to see such a legit smile on his face, and she knew exactly what he was thinking about. She knew she was a terrible cook, but if it made Hane smile she would do so any day, and that was exactly what she was willing to do, even if that thought came after the want to cook. Hearing Hane offer to teach her of some techniques was one of the nicest feelings she had in a while, many of her kitchen staff didn't even allow her in the kitchen any more, so Hane offering to stand next to her during cooking was a big deal. And truly made her day. "I would love to help out, but if we are to do such a thing, I must ask you to treat me how you would a friend."
Tenshi followed Hane to the nearest temple, and stayed behind for a moment to bow towards the worshipping stone, and thank her for all she had done. If not for the Sun Goddess, Hane would not be here today, and for that Tenshi was forever grateful. Heading to the Kitchen quickly, Tenshi was enthusiastic to get cooking again, even if she was under constant supervision, and couldn't go near the stove. "What first?"

The request to be treated as a friend was again offered to Hane. Though this once he might have to agree to it. Simply because making sure the Queen was doing everything right in the kitchen as well as treat her with respectful formalities was a bit too formidable a task for even Hane. He'd still act polite, but probably tone it down during the cooking. Making his wings disappear with light magic, Hane's glowing eyes scanned the kitchen. Food here was stocked in a fresh state, and by magic it all stayed that way for however long was required. Hane moved to the lowest cupboard to bring out utensils and the usual cooking objects. A few bowls, drainer, trays and plates. He then moved swiftly into the store room, gathering all the vegetables and other dry foods he could into his hands before setting them down in the kitchen. "Let's see, carrots, swede, potatoes and leek... just needs..." Hane mumbled to himself, placing a finger over his chin as he looked around for what else he needed. Looking up at a hanging cupboard above one of the counters, Hane attempted to reach his short arms up to the cupboard door. Trying to stretch up a few more times, the boy eventually sighed, arms dropped down by his sides as he glanced to the Queen. "Could... could you get the herbs and spices out of the cupboard for me please? I... can't reach." Before Hane's little head went red, the Angel quickly busied himself with something else whilst the Queen was gathering the flavorings. Hane opened another, (lower), cupboard that was large enough for him to lean all the way inside. He shoveled around the pots and pans for the correct sizes, making music on the tins as he did. "Soup seems the easiest starter," Hane said, his voice amplified by the cupboard his head was in, "and while your highness makes that, I can cook up something for the main."

Tenshi let out an un-lady like laugh when Hane couldn't reach the tallest cupboard, she did not wish for it to seem mean, but it was a moment she couldn't not laugh at. Heading over to said cupboard Tenshi reached in to and gathered all herbs and spices she could find, as she knew not what was being made. She was grateful that Hane trusted her enough to make the starter herself, but after the last attempt, she didn't want to risk it. "Erm.. Mind helping, I'm willing to cook in my own kitchen, but in the temple ide rather not make a mess. Well unless you want ceiling soup..." Tenshi chuckled to herself, it wasn't the first time she caused soup to be served from the ceiling... and last time it took two weeks to remove it from the ceiling.
Making her way over to Hane, waiting for instructions. She tried to work out what he had in mind for food. Knowing he spent a dear amount of time practicing, it was difficult to think about what concoction he would come up with.

Hane was all too used to short jokes, although it didn't make them any easier to bare. It might be a selfish wish all things considered, but if he could still age a little in his immortality, then Hane wouldn't be constantly viewed as a 15 teen and more like the 200 year old Angel he was. Plus being taller couldn't hurt, since Hane had always been small even when mortally aging. With all the spices set on the table, and a couple of pans set out on the cold stove, Hane rolled his sleeves up to begin. Hane nodded to Tenshi's suggestion that he helped. "Of course your highness, I will try and multitask the two duties." Hane cleared his throat, plucking a few various vegetables from the mix and putting them in a glass bowl. He then held it out for Tenshi. "If your highness could clean these, I would be grateful... without soap, I should add." Hane asked, a slight grin as he handed the bowl over before tasking himself with measuring out flavorings and water himself, placing all in a pot and adding fire to the stove. Hane held up a certain vial of herbs. "Star plant herb. Made from the dried leaves of the star plant, a Aura only plant. You usually only find it in Angel dishes, although according to the castle cooks, the herb sometimes goes a miss, like someone outside Aura desperately wants to use some." Hane was sure Tenshi wasn't aware the herb was being stolen, although she probably knew who was the thief 'borrowing' the flavoring. Hane put the small vial down. "You don't need to add much, but it gives the soup an overall golden glow, if prepared right, as well as a strangely pleasant sweet taste." The guard almost smiled in his little story. Talking about something that interested him, even though he was almost talking to himself, made the Angel feel better. It kept his mind locked up by simple pleasures, which was what made Hane so interested in cooking. It was a simple distraction to the eternal life he led. Hane glanced to Tenshi. "Once those are clean, we can peel and slice them into small squares."

Tenshi wasn't sure if she should laugh or not at the soap comment, it was only the once and she thought it was what she was meant to do. Its not her fault the vegetables tasted of soap when she served them, that and she thought the burnt crisp would take away the flavour. Taking the bowl over to wash them she kept an ear out to what Hane was saying. "Hmm... I didn't know the herbs went missing. I'll be sure to... Keep an eye out for the culprit" This time round Tenshi really did chuckle to herself. Her little purple friend must have been behind such a thing, she did remember one telling him to take what he needed. Even if her kitchen staff were not happy with the fact. "Im sure you will do a marvellous job with the flavourings."
Tenshi began to wash the vegetables by adding hot water over them, realising that not more was needed when doing so. Taking the bowl back over to Hane, she waited for the instructions on what to do. The last time she chopped up vegetables didn't end well, and the knife ended up stuck in the counter and the vegetables cut into peculiar shapes. She did has warned many that cooking was not her strong forte, and she would be better doing anything but. Even if the activity she enjoyed. Though she wished not to add any disaster she may cause, by being left to her own devises. "We'll just assume I have no idea what im doing... May cause less injuries that way."

Hane measured out a small amount of the star herb onto a spoon, before dropping the golden liquid into the steadily boiling pot. "I'm sure you will do a marvelous job with the flavorings." Hane nodded silently. Naturally, Hane's skills with flavors were as high as they could get now really. He was taught by the best of Angel cooks. "Old Bira taught me," Hane commented, eyes fixed on the pot, "she was the old cook in Shiro. Known for her supreme knowledge of what exactly went well with what. She always had this, sweet and spicy nature about her, sometimes happy and sometimes as hot livid as lava in Dranar." Hane tapped a small spoon to level out the powdered contents before adding it to the pot. "She died about twenty years ago, not before handing all her skills over to me and a select few other cooks. But I'm sure you've remembered all of that your highness, one couldn't easily forget her way with the spices." Hane sighed quietly, placing the spoon down before joining the Queen in the center worktop with the cleaned veg.
"We'll just assume I have no idea what I'm doing... May cause less injuries that way." Hane smothered a laugh, thinking back to one of the many disasters the Queen insured during her attempt at cooking. "With respect Lady Tenshi, I have no doubt that this is out of your capabilities." Hane took a small, sharp knife in his hand, flicking the blade around his fingers without looking or seeming to try. "Cutting a vegetable with a knife is the same as any sword-play, fortunately your highness has never had to trouble herself at the handle of a sword, so it's only natural slicing like this would be difficult at first." Hane placed a carrot on the edge of the table, hitting it to make it fly upwards. In a motion too fast to even observe, Hane sliced the carrot both ways, causing the vegetable to land in a pile of small squares. Hane glanced to the Queen, "During festivals, the cooks tend to get a little bored when preparing so much food, so slicing turns into a game of sorts." Hane admitted, a slight smile as he prepared a different vegetable for Tenshi. "We'll start off slow for you though Lady Tenshi," Hane demonstrated a simple, bridged cut over the veg before leaving it for the Queen to practice, "go slow and patiently, and the knife should do the rest."
