Ever since that talk with Rurushu, Vincent hadn't been in the mood to put up with much. Fortunately, he'd been left alone for a while now. Almost surprised that the last week had been so quiet, Vincent had been tempted to make conflict find him. But, part of him didn't want that. Prove yourself, that thought kept crossing his mind now. Reminding Vincent of something he'd tried to forget about. He didn't want to prove himself anymore, just be left alone. Being good never seemed to work, Vincent didn't expect he'd be welcomed into anywhere by being nice. People knew his name, and his face, and Vincent was certain anywhere he'd go wouldn't neglect him for long. Gossip got around, finding the ears of wannabe heroes and forcing Vincent to either leave or stay and kill them. However, the usual cycle, just didn't seem to be happening recently. He'd been in Minato a while now, settling into an inn, keeping mostly to himself other than when paying for things. Not one person bothered him. A few seemed intimidated, but no one tried to apprehend the criminal. He'd almost grown comfortable in this odd circumstance, almost felt truly free. But, of course, the moment had to end. Conflict had to find Vincent, as usual. And he'd have to fight or run. Vincent walked down towards his bed for the night, a small little room in an inn on the outskirts of town. The ground was damp from the rainfall earlier. So, as Vincent walked, he picked up the splash of multiple shoes on stone, coming to a stop once he was certain they were following him. He'd planned to judge whether or not to run depending on who was hunting him, and when his eyes met her's, the decision was already made.

Sky took her time looking for some guards, making sure they weren't the best they had, but not the rookies either, knowing Vincent, and his blood lust. She made sure all were trained up and knew what they were getting into, making sure they knew they had no obligation because of who she was to stay and fight, if they want to run, they can. Simple as. No matter how much she wanted to face off against him, she wouldn't blindly risk lives, not without them having a right. It wasn't hard keeping track of the man, even as he want quiet in Minato, she had visited the very same inn he was staying at, and planned to cut him off when he headed back on night, better make sure the show down was with the least casualties around, and Sky made sure the inn keeper knew what was happening too as to make sure none left that evening. Sky made sure everything from the location, to the ten guards were set, she herself refusing 'her safety as princess' to stand at the front of the attack, despite all the others displeasure at her choice. Arms crossed as she looked to Vincent, she knew her plan inside and out, probably stupid and reckless, something her parents would both be furious and proud of, it all relied on Vincent and where his morals were. "Hello again Vincent." That was all he got before the guards went in for the capture.

Vincent was a little surprised he didn't sense Sky approach. She was still marked, as Vincent checked now, and yet he didn't know she was the one following him. Perhaps with it being so long since they'd last met, Vincent had gotten used to no longer checking for her presence. This, wasn't a nice surprise, but it was a surprise all the same. He gave her a grin, putting his hands into his coat pockets, and eyeing up the princess and her friends. She'd gotten some guards, tough looking and determined guards. They'd die like any others would, however. Around him, the streets came to life as rain fell, refreshing the damp stone paths as raindrops danced across. They brought a watery smell to them, that Vincent took a deep breath of, before looking to Sky as she spoke. "Sky." He mumbled, then grinned when the guards approached. A bit of fun then, at last. Ten of them, not an easy challenge, but Vincent wasn't one to run or back away. Even with his hands cuffed, he'd still fight for freedom, he'd already proven that once before. So, the guards split into a few groups, trying to catch Vincent on various sides. The rain made his hair plaster to his face, muffling sound with the rush of water around them, but none of it would falter Vincent. A few attacks came with way, all attempting to knock the wind from him, but encouraging his blood to pump faster, and increase his physical speed, Vincent dodged easily. He cut into his hand as soon as he was able, dropping blood one by one onto each guard. Rather than kill them immediately, to savour the tastes of this game, Vincent simply froze them into place, and carried on the fight. He fought, got a bit bruised and cut up, but eventually took down all ten guards. A few were less fortunate than those frozen and spared, for some had been a little harsher on their attempts to capture the criminal. But, the majority still lived, for now. Vincent smirked, looking back to the princess. "I figured you'd eventually be stupid enough or scared enough to not face me alone. But... it's nice of you to bring me some fresh blood to play with." He stated, louder than before. He grinned hungrily at the Angel, "I've longed to see more of your blood, you know." He growled, walking closer, "And I also know, that as much as I enjoy all this, I don't want it to keep pestering me. About time I took care of you, don't you think?"

Sky knew it would come to this, watching the many face him and fall, though when it came down to it, she could see most were still alive, the more tougher guys actually trying to make a point the only ones to fall, and Sky saw the reasoning behind it, she only hoped Vincent really did decide to spare the ones he froze, and not just use them for later or use them as a bargaining chip. Smirking to Vincent, Sky stepped closer while holding out her arms, she wouldn't fight, no need, the guards showed how pointless it was, no, she had other plans. "Go right ahead." Sky kept a neutral expression while staring at him, daring Vincent to just do as he said he would. She wasn't afraid, the guards were here as she knew it wouldn't work without them, because there's no way anyone would let the princess go out after criminals alone after a war, when everyone was going back to their usual ways. "Plenty for the taking, entire bodies worth of blood pumping through my veins, and you have unlimited access to it. I wont fight, I wont squirm, I wont run. So go ahead." She wanted him to prove he wasn't the cold hearted killer people think he is, she's seen what he can do, the good he can make... Now he just needed to prove it to everyone else, this was a start, because if he spares her the others will be too, or so she was betting on. "What are you waiting for Vincent?"

Vincent could just imagine the outrage and hatred from when he killed Sky. She was a princess, and he'd met one of her parents already. The kind of person who'd spend their whole life looking for revenge, for the one who killed their daughter. Then, there was the Angelic race, and anyone around who'd met this oh so lovely princess and would want the one responsible for brutally killing her dead or locked away to suffer forever. He, honestly, didn't look forward to be hunted. But, right now he was being hunted anyway. Kill Sky, the world would hunt him forever. Don't kill her, and and Vincent is followed by her forever in this ridiculous game. He couldn't win. Vincent, could never win. But, the satisfaction of seeing this pest dead would suffice for his dark life. But, Vince stopped, staring at Sky through the rain. She just stood there, waiting and willing. His smile dropped, listening as Sky added to her statement, encouraging his actions. He frowned, finding this whole situation so... uncomfortable? It wasn't anything like Vince could have predicted. What kind of tragic story did Sky want to participate in if she was willing to die at his hands? Why did she want to die? Suddenly Vincent's eyes widened slightly, realisation hitting. And he recalled what Sky's father said. She wanted him to prove himself. Vincent began chuckling. So this was how she planned to help Vincent prove himself. Help everyone see he could be good. "That was very clever idea of yours." Vincent commented aloud. "And I'm just waiting for you to realise what a stupid idea this actually is." Vincent held his ground, folding his arms together. "It ain't going to work... You standing there, giving me the chance to kill you. Planning to show everyone what a good person I am, for deciding I don't want to kill a dumb and reckless princess even when she's so willing? It won't make any difference."

Sky raised an eyebrow to him. She knew it was a stupid idea, but Vincent underestimated people, yes there would be many still out to hunt him regardless, but to be given free reign to kill the princess... Many people otherwise might take the chance if there was something to gain from it, be it angering the kings, or using it as bait. Vincent sparing her said much about his character, and where his choices lead, cold hearted was not one of them, and people would begin to see that. Where as before they saw nothing but a cold hearted, blood crazed criminal. But it wasn't just everyone else she was trying to make him prove to. "Makes a difference to me." She didn't want to be his enemy, she read his story, knows why he is as he is and while he denies that she knows what its like, she does, and she wants to give him an ally of sorts. But she couldn't go in blind to what everyone else saw, she had to find a backup for her choices. Its why she let him mark her in the first place, why she was here now unarmed and willing. Why she put her life on the line with blind faith and trust in a criminal. "What made you decide not to kill me though? There's always a reason... And being hunted by my parents and the likes is not an acceptable answer..."

Vincent laughed, loud and sharp almost like a clap of thunder. "And you think I care about how you feel?" He asked, giddy grin still across his face. He smiled, and yet Vincent was so utterly confused by all of this, on the border of being frustrated by it too. "It's been a long ass time since I decided to care about how anyone else felt. Hate me, love me, pity me. I don't give a crap." He explained. "And about proving myself? About being a good guy? I stopping thinking about that when I was a little kid. Because it'll never happen, no matter what I do. I spare you or I don't, it won't change anything, Princess." He added, gesturing with his arms, before dropping them with a slight growl, smile wavering. He glanced back to the guards, the ones standing still looked terrified or in pain. And the ones down, well, they were definitely staying down. Vincent wasn't against expecting a surprise attack, he'd said it himself that he didn't trust anything from Sky. He didn't know if she'd be the type to make all of this just a distraction for the real capture, but Vincent wouldn't be surprised if it really all was just a ruse. "Because it wouldn't be fun." Vincent explained, finally looking back to Sky to answer the question. "I'd get no joy out of killing someone who just accepts it.... something tells me killing you won't be as satisfying as I'd hope it to be. Hah, who knows, maybe I'm getting used to that stupidity and arrogance you like to flaunt around with all the time."

"Now when did I say anything about how you feel?" Truth, while she did wonder on his thoughts, Sky actually wanted him to prove himself to her for her benefit, she could vouch for him then, reduce sentence, do something, but it wasn't something she could just do without proof, she was sure her Dada had figured that out by now, and was likely watching the showdown, but she needed to prove to others about it, this was a good start. Looking to Vincent as he ranted though, Sky gave a laugh as she dropped her arms and crossed them, smirking to him in amusement. "It changes a lot actually, maybe not for others, but to me it does, I can see it in your eyes you want nothing more then to kill me, and yet, be it because it will be no fun or satisfying, you still did so. It shows there's hope yet. I'm not one to kill someone if they don't deserve it, nor jail one unless its needed. Your power is strong, and terrifying, but you, your a softie on the inside, and that's why I'm trying to show people, because those like that make the most loyal of friends or allies." Her own views from what she's seen In her life, but true none the less, and she hoped to make people believe it too before anything more happens in life. "I flaunt it because I have to show no fear, make people think your stupid, arrogant and unafraid, you get anywhere really, because people underestimate you, perhaps that's why you spared me the first time we met... Still trying to work that one out."

Vincent was pretty sure he had the permanent killer look to his eyes now. A set in glare that thirsted for bloodshed, not matter how he was truly feeling. So yes, he did look like he wanted to kill Sky right now, especially when she called him a softie. A softie? Not one point in Vincent's life had he felt 'soft'. He was hard, brittle and sharp, made jagged from all of life's problems. He was certainly not soft. "And you think a... softie, like me, needs to jailed?" Vincent asked, shaking his head. "I'm not soft, unless you're blind, you'd see that. And I'm going to ignore you saying something about friends, because that's close to being a myth in my world, as far as I'm concerned." Sky really was irritating. "I don't need to shown it to know how stupid and arrogant you are. But being unafraid? Everyone's scared of something, Princess. Even I-" Vincent stopped, feeling something rush towards him from behind. A dagger, he twisted to the side, grasping onto the blade to push it out of the reach of his abdomen. It cut into his fingers and hand, but it was better than being somewhere more valuable. Vincent had turned quickly to see the sneaky assailant, as a figure slowly formed from a previously invisible state. A man stood, wearing dark clothing similar to that of an assassin. His hair was a dark blue, with a tattoo over one eye, and a face void of emotion. He pulled the knife back, Vincent letting go just before it took his fingers with it. He smirked, "Well well, Princess, I thought for a moment you weren't trying to trick me. But turns out you're not as stupid as I thought. Too bad you picked some weak little assassin for the job." Vincent commented back. But, Sky didn't answer, the assassin did. "I am not with the Angel Princess." Duke admitted, dropping the magic that had his three companions also hidden. He almost smiled, but Duke was years beyond smiling nowadays. "And I may be weak... but I carry venom." He added. Vincent felt the effect hit like a brick wall. It was like almost immediate paralysis of his body. He felt his arm go numb, pain striking up it as the criminal choked on a rising foam in his mouth before he could yell. Vincent attempted to command his blood to draw out the poison, but it only increased the speed of it's effect. As Vincent panicked, smile gone from his face, replaced with absolute terror, Duke looked to Sky. He'd not seen much of her since... since the Saints kept her captured. Since her Father, the King of Angels, murdered Duke's wife in cold blood. But, he didn't hate the Princess, she was a victim of war, just as Rose had been. He didn't like how she was merely conversing with a wanted criminal however, so whilst whistling over his men to grapple Vincent to the ground, Duke kept a dagger pointed in her direction. As stunned as he was, Vincent wasn't giving in. He couldn't, he couldn't just go back to that place. He'd convinced himself he'd either go free, or die before being taken back. But, he'd never expected a poison to be his one weakness, and never expected to be so restrained that he had no choice at all. Sky could see it, anyone could see it, the sheer fear Vincent had on his face.

Sky gave Vincent a smirk. "Oh but you are. No matter what you believe, that heart of yours isn't as cold and hard as you make out it to be. No, I don't think your just a softie, you need to be jailed, but under much different circumstances to last time, you need to be watched, not abandoned, not excluded." She didn't really have a choice but to arrest him, but she was not lying all this time about making things much more comfortable for him, she had plans to make him imprisonment comfortable, and as free as it allows. She wouldn't let him fall back into such harsh conditions. "A myth it might be as a friend, but an ally is another story." Sky's eyes widened though at the sight of another, wondering how they knew they were around, and growled as the other attacked Vincent, before she even had chance to tell him it wasn't her. Duke, Duke made it clear, and while she knew he was a victim just like the others in the war previous, Sky still dislikes all who kept her brother locked up, Duke did nothing to help, so he didn't get a free pass. It was a dirty trick the poison, one Sky refused to use as it was cheap and unfair, but Sky could do little right now to help without causing more issues, even if every bone I her body was telling her to fight at seeing the fear in Vincent's face. "Duke, long time no see. Stealing my criminal I notice, didn't you know he's on a personal hit list allowed by my own father..." So technically a half truth. Ru had basically said Vincent was hers to capture, though he never mentioned others were unable to do the same. "So just hand him over, and we'll be done here. I need to make sure things are in specified order when he goes in." She hoped that Vincent would see she wasn't really agreeing with the method used by Duke to capture him, just trying to calm the water, knowing they had different plans for his imprisonment.

Note: Done from Duke's perspective for now
Duke respected the royalty. He did try and kill Kaku not long after the King killed Duke's wife, but once new Human leadership had taken over, Duke decided to let his hate die down. He still continued his organisation, but, for the sake of getting over war, and not starting another, the royalty were left alone. Didn't mean Duke liked them at all. Sky was once a prisoner, and Duke would hear her opinions along with her brother's if need be, but he didn't trust her like anyone else in her family. He gave the princess a long look, before twirling the knife in his hand, a show to make sure Sky was aware that Duke was ready to fight this out. If he had to, but Duke didn't really like ending things with a fight, hence the use of poison to paralyse his target. "My group don't deal with personal boundaries. We tend to ignore them, if we feel the task deems it necessary." Duke explained, then gestured to the struggling criminal with his knife. "You've been dancing around this one for too long, it was time to take action." He glanced back as Vincent seemed to be recovering from the poison, or at least was so desperate that he was fighting through it. Duke wouldn't blame his reluctance, he'd been in a cell for beyond twenty years, freedom must be a thing he was definitely unwilling to let go. "Increase the dose." Duke ordered quietly to his men. They nodded, taking their own knives to cut across the man's skin in shallow wounds. Very quickly the struggling died down, until Vincent had to put all his effort into just breathing normally. Duke looked back to Sky, "His capture has already been arranged. With the return of Baransu Prison, his cell has been specially made, by a rare few with experience in being warden to this particular man giving details to how he should be restrained." Duke explained. "This situation, as far as you are concerned, Sky, is dealt with. Please don't make the capture of this man harder than it needs to be."
