Note: About a month or so since Mo fell, and everything slowly recovers.
Vincent looked up at the skies, cut in places by the hanging pieces of wood or stone from shatter homes around him, Baransu still needing to be mended since the destruction previously. Blood red cut across the clouds, dark as they were without a true sun to light them up. Still, Vincent adored the colour, enough to make him smile sincerely to himself, before he continued walking.
Vincent looked up at the skies once more, an hour later, as he was being pinned to the ground by a guard, another standing nearby putting shackles on his wrists as Vince tried to force himself out of their grip. The sky was still red, and for some reason, Vincent began to think of blood, the different shades of red, the colours of blood that seemed to change depending on the person. So beautiful, the spectrum of red that Vincent adored. What colour was the blood of these two, these righteous do-gooders who were apprehending this wanted and dangerous criminal? He felt the click of manacles, wrists tugging painfully against the cold metal. "Oi, easy there!" The woman, the guard not pinning him down, began warning, doing her best to stop his struggling arms. "You'll only hurt yourself, just give it up Abrams!" Vincent still struggled, a little surprised they knew his name. Then again, it was a wanted man's name, and if someone like the Angel Princess could find it out, then city guards looking to round up escaped prisoners would definitely know. Vincent slammed his wrists again and again at the restraints, feeling the pain and bruising of skin, but still continuing. The male guard growled, "This guy's a psycho! Doesn't care if he tears his own arms off to just get away. We know what you've done Abrams, so you can either give it up and come quiet, or we'll just kill you here. You've been prosecuted for life for your crimes, so either way doesn't make much difference."
Vincent remained silent, arms flailing about, until he started to feel his skin around his wrist tear. Finally, Vincent chuckled, "Oh but it does... because you know, I don't think you'd ever be able to kill me." He spat, feeling the warm crimson of blood drip from his wrist. And before the female guard could move her hands away from Vincent's arms, a drop landed on her finger. There were no words, only a spark to Vincent's eye, and his signature smirk. With one thought, and a small motion, he ordered all of the woman's blood to leave her body, seeping out of the sleeves of her leather armour as she screamed, collapsing quickly. The other guard was left frozen, not putting much effort into holding down Vincent now that his companion was turned completely white and dead. A flick of his finger, and the blood Vincent still controlled darted like a giant, globular snake towards the living guard. He pushed himself off of Vincent, rushing back against a wall, arms out in a pathetic defence. The blood simply swam around him, before going right in, through his ears, his nose, his mouth. Vincent forced all of the blood to enter the guard, until he gurgled on crimson liquid, chocking on blood until his body went limp, and eyes rolled back, blood seeping from them. Vincent struggled to his feet, hands still locked behind his back, looking curiously at the two dead guards. "Blood is a different colour. Everyone's is unique... but in the end, they all do the same thing. Weird, huh?" He muttered, smirking to himself as he willed his own blood to go into the lock on the manacles, unlocking them and rubbing his freed wrists.

It was a long road to recovery, and Ru wasn't even close to being out the woods yet, his increase in irritation proving that point. But he was recovered enough to go back out and work, in this case hunting down the forgotten criminals that were on death sentence. Sky had done a marvellous job keeping up to date with them during the war, but he needed her right now to keep peoples hope alive with all else still being recovered. However, Ru was mostly after the one criminal, Sky going on about how she needed a team to go after him and how very few were willing in hearing whom it was. Vincent Abrams, Ru did his homework on the guy, and knew he wasn't one to mess with, just don't let yourself be covered by his blood. Seemed easy enough. He was easy to find, the guards on the job never able to keep things quiet, the living ones anyways. Ru hid in the shadows, blood couldn't touch something that wasn't there, as he watched the horrific scene ahead, too late to be able to stop it, not like he would have had the chance anyways. He would have brought up his insides if he wasn't so use to the sight of blood and death by now, or some of the horrors that came with it, and adding that to his transformation those years ago, this was nothing. Clapping, still in the shadows as to not be seen just yet, Ru chuckled. "No wonder my daughter wont shut up about the need to take you down, she has a very fair point after what I just witnessed." He had to plan his attack wisely, or face most certain death.

Vince looked over the small scars on his wrists, simple damage, he wouldn't need to heal it. That fight didn't even break a sweat on his powers. The difference between the energy needed to heal with blood and kill with blood was almost crazy, though perhaps it was simply because Vincent was so used to killing and using blood as a weapon, his body was also used to it, making his stamina better suited for fighting than healing. He could happily kill a dozen more fools right now, though it was a shame this city was still broken and dead. Vincent just had to deal with his itch for violence on his own. He clenched his fists together, taking a deep breath. "I am the hunter left on deck, to watch over this train wreck. Judgement tries to pierce my armour, but I could never ever harm her. I'll be here, each day, loyal to her in every way. This attraction is beyond skin deep, my heart I gave her to keep. Perhaps this charade won't always last, and I can be future, present. Proud of the past." He mutters to himself, taking deep breaths between sections of the poem. Vince closed his eyes, trying to relax himself. And he was close, on the edge of calming down, when a noise came to pull him from the edge. A clap, that made Vince's eyes flash open, looking around to hear a voice. Vincent's smirk returned, as confused as he was, and he openly chuckled. "Did you enjoy the show?" Vincent asked, eyes darting around. One hand reached to his usual knife, and he cut it deep along his palm. Vincent twirled around, throwing his injured hand in enthusiastic patterns, splattering blood around him in a large circle, whilst talking. "I take it your daughter is Sky? Oh that poor naive, stubborn woman. She speaks a lot to me you know, wants to hunt me down but I know she can't, and she knows she can't. It's a fun game of cat and mouse we're playing, only thing is, only one of us knows which one we are, the cat... or the mouse." Vincent stopped, chuckling to himself. "Pouring out her blood is something I so deeply long for, I'd just love to see the colour of it. Something tells me a princess like her would have beautiful blood."

Ru gave a chuckle, clearly this kid underestimated his daughter, otherwise he would be running for the hills right about now, especially considering he has her undivided attention. "She's stubborn alright, you shouldn't underestimate her, there's a reason for all she does, and if she's pretty much allowed you an easy win... Well, lets just say she's got a plan. One even I wouldn't know about." Circling around Vincent still hiding in the shadows, Ru gave another laugh, this time one much more sinister. Vincent was trying to bait him in, it wouldn't work, Ru wouldn't fall for it. He knew Sky, knew she wouldn't allow someone like Vincent to see her blood in that way. Though, Ru feared exactly what she had planned for this criminal, she wasn't below using whatever method she needed to take one dawn. "Well, long for it all you want, she wont allow it to happen, knowing my daughter, she's more likely to sit there and see what yours looks like if needed. I wont go into details of course. That would ruin all the fun. And don't try baiting me in, it wont work, if I wanted you jailed you would be, same dead. But I would rather see how things play out." Ru watched the other a moment, going back to the comment of the cat and mouse. "Sometimes the mouse can be the one to triumph, she knows exactly which one she is, and Sky's playing you both as cat and the mouse, I cant wait to see exactly which one you believe you will be." And Ru couldn't, Sky's been through a lot, she knows both sides of the game, and how to abuse them both to her liking.

Vincent pretended to hum along, like he cared about what the voice said. A reason for all Sky did, allowing Vincent an easy win. It was both so amusing, and so irritating. Oh yes, that idiot woman had a reason for everything. Like walking out of a camp and almost dying if it wasn't for the blood lover's intervening. Like her reasons for letting Vincent mark her, making it likely impossible to ever sneak up on him again, and make it so easy for him to just remove her should she become a bother. A reason for trying so desperately to be similar to Vincent, because, what? Did it make her feel like she was better by trying to have a means to understand Vincent's motives? Stupid, all of it was down to stupidity and a mind that considered itself to be oh so clever. The sinister laugh fell on deaf ears, because Vincent was more likely to be excited by such a laugh than intimidated. "As battle rages, fight with what you choose. But don't underestimate the capability, of the man with nothing to lose." Vincent replied, repeating a poem to avoid the frustration of being underestimated by this individual and Sky. His smile twitched, threatening to change, but somehow Vincent managed to keep calm on the outside. "And I can't wait to see horrors on your faces, the moments before death when you realise these honeyed words won't save your lives. All they do is stir my desire for freedom, and for idiots like you and your daughter to find your rightful place, buried six feet underground." He replied, voice so mellow and calm it sounded completely the opposite. Seeing as his quarry refused to appear, Vince continued to let blood drip, deciding to move forward, and keep on moving until 'convinced' otherwise.

Ru looked to Vincent with a smile. "Nothing to lose huh? I wonder if that's her game..." Made sense, in fact Ru now was positive he knew Sky's plan, from the cat and mouse game, to the allowing him to mark her. So simple, and yet, might just pay off in the end, he would have to make sure the other guards ignored this one, and make sure Sky was put in charge of his capture, it would get her learning the ropes on things, and get her out the library, because if she does well, Ru's sure she will be asked to help out again. Nodding to Vincent, Ru smirked. "Yeah, that's her game. And these honeyed words are nothing but some fun, I would normally say don't play with your food before you eat it... But Sky never was one to really listen to such rules, I cant wait to see the look of horror on your face when you realise that. Idiots like us don't just survive what we have with blind luck, trust me, I would have rather been locked up like you had most my life then deal with some of the darkness that I have done so... You want freedom? This is the best your going to get." Ru slunk back into the shadows with that, hovering to listen in, there wasn't much he could do, not if he was leaving everything to his daughter, but it was still fun to witness.

Vincent stopped, and frowned a little to himself. He honestly didn't know what 'game' Sky was playing. What her plan to capture Vincent was, if the foolish woman even had one beyond her bravado and cunning. Perhaps she was just going to try and pest Vincent until he gave in. Maybe she though the man who'd spent the most of eighteen years locked in a room with little to no room to move, and a mask on his face to stop him from even talking properly, was impatient. That made Vincent's frown change into a smile. She would be partly right. Whilst it could take a few seconds for Vincent to lose his cool, being pestered by someone with no goal beyond annoying him and claiming to want him captured was something he could put up with for a while longer. Vincent looked around, the voice was still just a voice, no one actually around him to see, other than two dead corpses. "I'd prefer to have fun as well, the meal is never as good without a little fanfare." Vincent replied, stopping his stroll to turn around completely, still seeing nothing but the shadows. His best guess was that his friend was using a magic to hide in them, which did little other than keep his physical self hidden for now. "I don't trust anyone." Vincent said quickly, moving his hands into his pockets now, "And you would say something like that, since I doubt you've been locked up as long as I have. Besides, you claim to hate the darkness, and yet you're doing nothing but hide in it." Vincent turned, with no one to look to, and started walking once more. "Tell me, do you consider yourself a good person?" He asked, looking forward, but asking the shadows nearby.

Ru just huffed, he knew the other wouldn't trust him, and sure he hadn't been locked up for as long, but Ru knew what it was like to feel trapped, to have to do things he didn't want, pain that Vincent would never feel... As for the darkness, sometimes you had to hide in it to get anywhere. Its more then just pain and suffering, there was good darkness, the kind Ru wished there was more of. Ignorance, Denial, Blindness to the situation, Ru knew what wanting that was like, what hiding in that was like. Ru didn't even need to ponder over the last question, he knew the answer better then he knew himself. "No, I don't. I've killed, I've lied. I've been sucked into things I never wanted in the belief I was doing good when really I was just causing more issues. So no, I don't consider myself good. I never will be." Ru moved around in the shadows, letting himself be seen leaning against a wall with a sad smile. "All I can do is make up my mistakes, to do what's considered right, and good. To not be tempted into darkness again, to make the same choices over and over just because of how my past was. Everyone has their bad side, mine is was made me, what lead me here, and while I can do good things... I cant be a good person, not after all that." Ru could spend the next years of his life doing nothing but good, yet it wouldn't be enough to make him again. Same as Vincent, same as so many others just of different scales. "Don't be ignorant to your own truth Vincent, you have a chance to do good things, and yet here you are doing the same as before because of what you think made you, tell me... Do you consider yourself a good person?"

A smile grew across Vincent's face, although he was honestly surprised at how quickly the other replied, calling Vincent out and considering himself anything but good. The man stopped to listen, and gradually, his smile faded away. Vincent's eyes dropped to the ground nearby, catching just at the corner of his vision a pair of shoes appear from the darkness, leading up to his companion. But, Vincent's gaze remained down, the smile gone and his attention only half on what this other had to say. "There is always a reason, why evil has become evil." Vincent muttered to himself, his own poem, words he knew so well. Once Ru was done, his question to Vincent drifted into silence. Vincent didn't even seem to react to it, he just looked finally up to the Demon, and then further up to the sky. "There was a six year old kid once. Lost his mum to something he couldn't control, to murderers who saw her as meat passed it's date of use. Now that kiddo did what any kid devoted to his one and only mum would do, he decided to face those murderers himself. And at six years old he showed them what real pain and suffering looked like, got vengeance for his mum's spirit so she'd not worry no more. But that little kid, because of what he did and how he did it, he was considered the evil one, and got caged up. He had no clue what was going on, why not one person showed him kindness or sympathy, why everyone looked at him like he was the reason behind every evil. And you know what, didn't take long for that kid to think he really was evil." Vincent stopped, looking to another point in the sky. "He didn't get much, only stories from the other, older and scarier people also condemned to be considered evil, as well as scrappy books he was allowed to read. But, he learnt that there was such a thing as good people, the kind that helped everyone, and in return was given respect, given smiles. So, that little guy thought to himself, maybe if he showed all them who thought he was evil, that he could be good, they'd let him go... But it turns out that no one was willing to even give him the chance to try. After all, being locked up in prison as a six year old kid doesn't give many opportunities to be a good person does it?"
"He gave up for a few years, let the small, cold world around him think he was evil, soon enough the kid forgot that he could even be forgiven for a crime he didn't even know he'd committed. He started using his powers to get what he wanted from those around him, his magic was still new after all, and it itched to be used. Soon enough, that kid grew older, and made sure there wasn't anyone left in that prison who could call him evil." Vincent looked to Ru, looking him up and down. Older, but it was hard to tell with Angels and Demons. Still, Vincent assumed he'd seen both sides of the world, good and evil, and probably had a great opinion on what made a person good or bad too. "As much as he enjoyed killing, reading poetry and caring for himself, the kid still thought about how he could be a good guy. But... the world doesn't offer second chances, at least not to this kid. Not even now, when he's tried his hardest to be away from everyone, they still want to take him down like a wild animal and chain him up. These good people decide to ignore the fact that he saved lives for the sake of being useful, because he's evil, and evil will always be evil no matter what it does, or what it says, or WHAT it wants to be."
Vincent was practically spitting the words, smile gone, and nothing but a deadly glare settling into his eyes, the barest hint of water to his eyelids. Vince blinked, gathering his senses and bring back a bitter chuckle. "So tell me, when am I going to get my chance? What with that bitch of a daughter you speak oh so highly of chasing me around? With every single high and mighty person on this pile of rubble trying to 'bring me in'? No one is going to let me make up for MY mistakes, they'd rather I just be buried forever along with them."

Ru listened, he knew the story, not the whole side but enough. And said nothing to it, didn't even flinch when he called his daughter a bitch. No, Ru just smirked before standing straighter. "Maybe that's her game, for you to prove yourself." Ru didn't wait to hear anymore, there was nothing else he could say to him. But he hoped the words would hold impact, Ru knew his daughter, and she wouldn't have giving him chances without a reason, all the others never even saw her coming, while Vincent here had been let go. If the other wanted to believe he wasn't given a chance, Ru would let him, it only went to show how much he really didn't know. Throwing back a smirk, Ru opened his wings and headed back up to Shiro, he promised his husband some recovering time, and wasn't going to skimp out, not in one of the very rare moments nowadays. Leaving nothing but a small whisper for Vincent to be lost in the air. "Good luck, Sky wont make proving it easy."

Vincent lowered his eyes, glaring to the ground. He didn't expect anything. He didn't want pity or understanding, Vincent didn't even want to hear a reply. But, Rurushu gave him one anyway, and Vincent huffed. "That's a big maybe." He grumbled, not even turning around, only hearing the air get pushed around as the Demon flew off. Muttering something that was lost in the wind. Vincent closed his eyes, feeling no better with the conversation that passed. He only felt more annoyed, and more alone in his feelings and opinions. But he didn't assume anyone would really relate to him, Vincent had long been used to being alone, and caring- therefore- only for himself. He took a few deep breaths, thinking on the last point. He doubted Sky had the intention of seeing Vincent prove himself to be a good person. He'd already done that once, by healing a load of idiots, and yet she still seemed to want him captured. He tried smiling, maybe he should accept capture, let Sky see what he was running from. Maybe she'd feel bad for ever seeing Vincent as an evil, and instead as a victim. But, it was another big maybe, and not one Vincent would attempt. Instead, he drew his thoughts away from thinking about others, thinking instead about blood, and moving further across Baransu.
