Research, research was as far as Lilith assumed her theories would go. She didn't expect those theories to come to something like this. Being the adopted child of a Demon with a vengeance wish against a Goddess, stuck in a dimension alone. But, Lilith wasn't quite alone. She had but one company. The boy, the one screaming the majority of the day from pain, the one that usually begged for death or cursed his life. And, despite all that, Percy was a very interesting fellow. Lilith's orders were to keep him alive despite the strain on his body, but that didn't mean she could do more if she wanted to. It was boring in this small house in an empty dimension, Lilith couldn't do any research, experimenting on Percy wouldn't do her very good, not when he was so weak. But, she could talk to him, and after a while, Percy gave up trying to spite the woman, and he talked back. It seemed to be a good distraction against his current situation, anyway to lighten the mood.
Lilith wasn't like her father. Percy wasn't an object, or battery to fuel powers. He was just the unfortunate soul to contain Humanity's strongest magic. He seemed so bitter about the world, beyond how it was currently abusing him, and Lilith found that a bit down-heartening. Her goal as a child was to help the world recover from it's own bitterness through a deeper understanding of things, and right now, her goal was to do what she could to lift the spirits of her only friend in this place. Food was a struggle, they could only eat what was supplied in the house, and seeing as she didn't know how long they'd be here, Lilith had to make the food rations. But each meal was standard, nutritional but not too much. Even Percy enjoyed it. Lilith walked into the main room, humming to herself, looking up to her friend's droopy head. Sleeping, Percy did that a lot, usually woken up by Mo's abuse of his powers. Lilith didn't like waking him up from the measly amount of sleep he managed to grab, but food was important right now for him too. So she placed the two plates down, moving up to Percy and swiftly jabbing a hand into his side. Not violently, in fact quite the opposite. For it seemed through testing, that her friend was incredibly sensitive to touch, on a ticklish level. "Wakey wakey, there's some boring dried food just waiting to be slurped right up!" Lilith said, giggling before retrieving their meals.

Percy didn't sleep. His body just forced itself to shut down after too much stress. And stress was a constant now, so he could hardly stay away when not being sapped of energy. He long since lost feeling to his arms, now they just buzzed constantly by whatever was sucking up his powers. His legs still worked, thanks to Lilith's support. She'd changed a lot since Mo left. Going from a quiet and apologetic person to a jolly, talkative doctor who for some reason really wanted to keep the mood light. And after a while of the torture, and of Lilith's blabbering, Percy realised she wasn't being cruel, and she wasn't really part of Mo's plan. She was forced into it, a bit like Percy himself, and just like him, she was stuck here. So they had things in common, and Percy began to believe she really did care in part for him. Then he remembered the last time he believed that, and he decided to just pretend to get along with Lilith for the sake of distracting himself from this living hell.
Something hit his side as he slept, making Percy shudder away, squealing a little. He never did well with physical contact, and thanks to that he was incredibly ticklish. His eyes opened to the usual nothing, blindfold still there, but he heard Lilith giggle. "There are more soothing ways of waking someone you know, Lilith." He commented, "Considering my usual wake up call is less than pleasant, you could be a bit nicer." Lilith chuckled some more. And Percy found himself chuckling back. Damn it her laughter was contagious, even if Percy was trying to fake caring. He was silent for a bit, eating his food in the usual manner: hanging there with his mouth open until the dried, salty... biscuits? Percy wanted to guess biscuits, were given to him. "How much did you and Mo see of me, before I was taken here?" Percy asked. "Because, I'm still struggling to even remember what I was doing before... being here."

Lilith giggled again, "But this is much nicer! Tickling stimulates the release of happy molecules in the brain which makes you feel better. It's a much better method than being woken by pain, that instead stimulates the release of adrenaline making it hard to sleep again, or at least without nightmares... are the biscuits nice?" Lilith asked, as she'd been slowly feeding them to Percy whilst rambling on. She ate her own in between talking about the brain and what sleep does to it, until their dinner was finished. She'd put the plates down when Percy asked his question, it made Lilith frown, recalling what happened.
"When we found you, you were dying from a cardiac arrest, a heart attack. Caused from drinking a highly toxic amount of alcohol to induce a poisoning effect on your body. You were close to shutting down when we found you, but fortunately I knew enough about surgery and how to combat poisoning to save you." Lilith explained. She hummed a little more, "Forgetting the events previous to passing out is common, since your brain might have shut down before it could catalogue those memories." She explained, pulling over her chair to sit on it backwards, facing up to Percy. She was in deep thought, this question was puzzling and she loved it, as usual when Percy asked her random stuff. "Then again, it's also possible you're forcing yourself to forget what happen because it was too traumatic to cope with, induced memory loss is a thing." Lilith added, humming out loud. "What's the last thing you remember doing?"

Lilith rambled a lot. She was the one person Percy had gotten to get to know without just cheating and looking at her past. He knew she was a doctor, not the magical kind, but the practical kind. She read a lot, made her own theories, and loved to talk about anything and everything. She also loved life, so it seemed, and wanted fairness to the world that she didn't think currently existed. Percy listened to some of the blabbering through trying to eat, chuckling when she finished. "Salty, but good as usual." He replied simply, then taking a drink as it was offered. Just water, Lilith was smart enough to refuse to give him alcohol, claiming his liver would be damaged even worse if he took anymore of that.
Percy frowned, trying to remember anything. He remembered pain up and down his arm and chest, but not where it happened. When Lilith considered the memory loss being induced by himself, Percy thought even harder, for anything. "Well... I remember Mo attacking me the first time, then coming down to Sora. Then there was the Festival which I avoided. On the last day I drank... I drank a lot. I... I thought I passed out then, but there must be more to it." Percy paused.
"Nanari." He muttered, "I remember talking to Nanari... no.. yelling at her, about something that upset me. Huh, since it was drunk me, no doubt I was telling her how much I hated pretending to be someone else, that's been on my mind for a while." He stopped again, wondering if Lilith was getting all of this. "I feel like I did something horrible, but I just can't remember what it was." He explained. There was a silent pause, Lilith waiting for Percy to figure it out for himself, since his mind was slowly gathering himself. "I feel... I feel like I might have kissed her... but I can't be sure. It.. certainly doesn't sound like something I'd do."

Lilith had been a good listener. And Percy seemed very open down here, perhaps he felt hopeless enough to see no reason to keep secrets. He'd explained everything to Lilith so far, his emotions, how his magic worked, how he felt most of the time, his addiction to silence. Lilith knew this boy so well, and she liked knowing things. So she knew exactly what Percy meant when he said about pretending to be something he wasn't. Because, according to Percy, he was a vile person, who cared little for others, only for himself. Who trusted no one, because he knew too well of betrayal. Part of Lilith thought it was a tragic way to see things, another part thought it was a very logical opinion. For the many life-cycles of memories in his head, no doubt Percy remembered the horrible ones the most. Because that was natural, the brain tended to remember bad memories more than good ones to remind one of life's dangers. Percy had seen so many bad memories, and they were the first he turned to when his mind fought against him. Trust, must be a very very hard concept for the boy to understand. Lilith did wonder where she fit in. As the only person thus far that Percy hadn't seen the past of. Was she just someone to feed him, and talk to distract him? Lilith couldn't imagine she was trusted by this interesting boy, she knew the feelings weren't mutual, her idea of friendship wasn't shared by Percy.
She frowned when the final conclusion Percy drew was kissing this Nanari person. Lilith didn't know who it was, someone important to Percy, he usually cried her name when in serious pain or trauma, or during nightmares. Lilith hummed loudly, pacing a little. "Perhaps it doesn't, and if this really happened, after the amount of alcohol you consumed I can only imagine it was not a lovely moment." Lilith replied, finally stopping. "This isn't a memory you can just be unsure about... I have a theory that memories can be sparked from certain triggers, like smells, or certain words, or actions..." Lilith continued, barely breaking her speech before marching up to the chair placed near Percy, kneeling on it to reach his face and kiss him. After the obvious silence afterwards, Lilith snorted and giggled, moving back, "Well... remember yet?"

It certainly wasn't a pleasant exchange. Because Percy almost died from a heart attack, if Nanari had been there, she'd want to help. He groaned as he considered it, how badly he must have mucked something up for her to leave him to suffer like he did, to die from those actions. It made Percy swallow, a lump growing in his throat from his self-hatred. He was distracted by the thoughts, not really taking in what Lilith said, only hearing a chair move, then all of a sudden, something against his lips. It took a moment to realise they were lips, and then Percy spluttered, feeling his face heat up as Lilith drew away with a chuckle.
"Wh... wh-what the hell Lilith?" He asked between splutters. She still seemed to chuckle. "I'm blindfolded and hung up here! Do you realise how... how weird that was?!" He exclaimed, unable to focus on anything but... but how it felt to be kissed. It felt strange, like the first time it had happened, but again not quite. Then Percy recalled an image, of Nanari, of kissing her. And it had felt a little like what just happened, but also not as nice. Percy exhaled heavily, "Oh no... no no... I actually did do that." He admitted, sighing again, almost laughing bitterly. "Gods I really am scum."
Percy went silent for a long time, going over the feeling in his head, the memory of Nanari, of how broken she looked afterwards. Lilith seemed to respect the silence, and after a minute or two, Percy calmed down his thoughts. "Lilith... I don't know if I'll ever make it out of this place... I know you always tell me I will, but come on, it's unlikely." He began, not waiting for the woman to respond, "But if you somehow get out, which is far more likely, please tell Nanari I'm sorry. That I would never, ever do that to her in the right mind."

It was fun watching Percy react. The kiss was interesting, Lilith's very first one, actually, but she didn't really care about that kind of stuff. Plus, she knew what kind of people she liked, Percy wasn't one of them, but for his sake, she felt like it was necessary, and it didn't really bother her much. Lilith was silent for long while, listening to Percy, almost able to see the wheels turn in his head as he recalled things, and she almost dropped her smile when he called himself scum, and predicted he'd never make it out of here. When he was finally done, Lilith gave him a hug, a gentle squeeze, before moving away. "You know, I'm pretty good at reading people. I've known the whole time that you don't trust me, you think I'll do something bad... other than keep you here. I understand that distrust, and... it hasn't bothered me one bit. Because I understand completely that it's hard for you to trust people. I don't trust people either, I don't trust that you won't try and kill me the moment you get out of here. But... I like to live in the moment, thinking of the past, or of the future, just makes the present more weighted than it needs to be. Yeah what you did was sick, something nasty people do, but it was in the past, and you definitely won't do it again right? Well, probably because you've damaged your liver to the extent that drinking as much as you did would be impossible now, but I digress." Lilith pushed on her glasses, redirecting her thoughts to the main topic.
"What I mean is, I've read you like a book this whole time Percy. I don't trust you yet, but I know you're not all bad. Your the kind of guy I'd love to have as a friend. And I wouldn't make friends with scum now, would I? So I'll change your statement, WHEN we get out of here, you're going to work your butt off to apologise to Nanari, and forgive yourself for what happened. And I'll do everything I can to help you along the way. You're a social experiment of mine after all, can't have you drowning in sorrow forever."
