Note: Following on from the beautiful end to the Nanari and Percy thread, when Nanari runs to Hane.
Nanari headed straight to Baransu knowing her parents, mother especially were cleaning up from the ball, and right now she needed one of them... Too upset to think about anything else. How could Percy do that? Hell, how could he even think that? Nanari felt the stares from people as she flied over them, as she ran towards her father, the first of her parents she found once bursting through the tower, and wrapping her arms around him. She wanted to apologise already for getting his clothes all wet with her tears, but she couldn't stop shaking and crying to do so and she buried herself into him needing the warmth of the contact. It was a few moments later she was able to calm enough to give so resemblance to what was happening. "P-P-Percy, h-he... H-h-he... I-I-I hate him." Nanari bundled closer to her father before a new set of tears came along. "I sho-shouldn't have tr-tru-trusted him so m-mu-much." It was all she was able to explain right now, unable to think over what he did, and she couldn't get the words out, both in fear on what her father would do, and still wishing to be in denial that he even did so in the first place. "I'm sorry." For crying, for being weak, for anything really she needed to be sorry for, she didn't really know.

The Festival had been acceptable. Each year it improved, and each year Hane enjoyed it a bit more. He certainly enjoyed getting to see what new kitchen work there was that he could judge, and what new talent he could find. The Ball was exhausting, each year having to dance with Tenshi and sometimes Nanari, because apparently that's what guardians must do. Cleaning it up was more acceptable to Hane, mostly because he enjoyed working more than 'having fun'. He cleaned quick, working on the jobs everyone left to him because they knew he could handle it. This hall would be spotless by the time he finished, as Hane promised every year. And once he'd cleaned it in record time, he took a forced break to watch the others clean, debating on whether he should go make some tea or something. He'd turned in time to catch the sudden embrace, flinching from the contact. And rather than relaxing as he usually did when he realised it was Nanari, Hane tensed up, hearing and feeling her tears. He couldn't get to ask what was wrong. After years of dealing with her adolescent mood swings, Hane did know to return the hug, stroke a hand down the girls hair to comfort, and he listened to her stuttering between sobs. Hearing that boys name, a scowl set in, as much as Hane wanted to gloat that he was right, he couldn't. But, his voice was still firm, "What did he do?" Hane asked. Nanari apologised, and Hane tutted, gently urging her back into the hug, glad that the girl was as short as him so this wasn't awkwardly done. "I am your guardian, whatever troubles you, I need to know about, it is my duty, a duty I... care a great deal about. Please Nanari, explain to me what happened."

Nanari relaxed into the hug back, letting the tears stop their major decent down her face as she let the last few fall as she allowed the comfort of her fathers hug sooth her. Taking a couple of deep breaths, Nanari knew she wouldn't get out of explaining, and she was just waiting for the 'I told you so'. "Percy and me began to argue, he was drunk and I wanted to help... He asked me if I loved him... I had to tell him the truth, I couldn't lie... He shouted again... Before, before." Nanari felt a few more tears fall as she felt the ghost of the kiss again. "He kissed me, by force... I pushed him back, both began to shout again... He accused me of forcing him, of using him for my own gain..." It all happened so quick Nanari didn't even remember half of what was said. "I shouted back... He threatened to do it again, thinking its what I wanted, told me to just take it like he never knew me at all... I just ran, I hate him so much." Nanari felt herself burst into tears again, before burying back into her fathers embrace, not knowing what else to do. "I didn't mean to make it seem like I was using or force him. You believe me right?" Nanari didn't know what she would do if her own father didn't.

It was only thanks to watching Kakushin's relationship with the Demon King, and what Tenshi had taught Hane about a long time ago that he accepted that love and relationships weren't terrible ideas. He didn't include himself in that, because Hane believe it was a distraction he didn't need. He'd slowly grown to accept that sometimes dedicating oneself to another was alright, the dangers that might happen were worth sharing something special. However, Hane was never against being cautious, and knowing the easiest, least painful option was to avoid such a thing as 'love'. He remained quiet, as Nanari explained, looking off to a wall with his gold eyes as she just unloaded what had happened. Rather successfully, Hane controlled the anger, knowing that Nanari had so boldly risked loving that disease-carrying Human, to only have him do such a thing in return. And drinking, Hane had expressed numerous times in his long life how much he hated that vile substance. He almost laughed, it came out as a huff and very slight smile when Nanari asked him a question. Hane let her go, gave the girl a look over, first checking for injuries, then for body language. The smile faded too quick to be seen, as Hane replied. "I didn't raise someone to be forceful, or to use others for their own gain. The Nanari I've trained for this long would never do something such as that." He explained, glancing around the room. "Your tears make me uncomfortable," Hane stated, pulling out a tissue from his shirt pocket, eyes finding who he was looking for. "And as your guardian, it's part of my job to help you lead a good life, to remove those tears." He explained, taking Nanari's and and leading her further into the hall, towards where Tenshi was cleaning. "I want you to remain with your mother, Nanari, there is an issue I must fix, and I don't want you involved in it any further, that's an order." Hane said, getting the ex-Angel Queen's attention with his words.

Nanari gave a small smile to her father as he spoke, knowing he really did believe her. And he managed to get a small chuckle from her as she dabbed away her tears with the tissue. "Still denying that I'm like a daughter to you huh Pa?" Nanari knew that her father was in denial, she had trained with him long enough to learn he held his heart on his sleeve and tried to hide that he cared more then he showed, simply because it was both easier and he was afraid. And it often made Nanari chuckle, because if he didn't care, clearly he wouldn't be so worried now. Following her father, Nanari knew what he was going to do, and in a way she still worried, but after everything, she couldn't bring herself to try and stop her father from it. Looking to her mother with a small smile, knowing she would be just as worried, and that she would have to explain again, Nanari gave a small mumble. "I came from the Sora Castle... I doubt he would have gotten far Papa." It was the most acceptance Hane would get for what he was likely planning, and Nanari went and hugged her mother, letting a few more tears fall.

Hane decided to politely ignore Nanari's next question, a quiet huff her way as he led her still towards Tenshi. She wasn't his daughter, Hane didn't feel comfortable with the idea of family, or whatever he and Tenshi shared, he preferred formal relationships, guardian, teacher, student. They made Hane far more comfortable than anything else. Nanari went over to Tenshi, Hane giving her a neutral but caring glance, nodding when she gave him directions. He had to put a hand on his shirt for a second, checking the token was still there. The new one, courtesy of the residents of the Sun Village, that allowed Hane to even be down in Sohul during this festival. He could hear Tenshi murmur words of comfort to her daughter behind him, before marching out of the tower, then taking flight towards the edge of town where Sora had settle for the festivities. It was getting a little dark, the clouds were an overcast, and everything felt on the verge of being foggy. The air felt damp, but it didn't change Hane's temper, or his resolve. How could it? He knew this was an issue he couldn't rest on without first fixing. For Nanari's sake, for the sake of being a good guardian for her.
A blur passed below Hane, a blur of purple. He stopped mid-flight, looking down at the small shadow passing through the maze of buildings below. Hane kept looking, but after a short while, he couldn't track it anymore. So he continuing flying towards Sora, landing below the castle, where one of the openings rested. And he was no hunter, but the trail was obvious. Bile, a faint bit of blood, footsteps covered in muck or other ungodly Human substances. All leading out of Sora, towards Baransu. Hane glared, then followed them carefully, through the quiet of the outskirts of Baransu, left unoccupied during the Festival. He came around a corner and stopped, pulling himself back into cover, seeing something ahead. A body, face down on the ground, and a looming figure over it, small but ominous. And purple, the colour Hane was alert towards considering recent news.
"Ha... take him, revive him... I need his power." The voice growled. Hane moved to peer around the corner, watching the small figure from behind. Mo, it could be no other, not with his skin colour, long ears and tail. The girl next to him, he didn't know. A young Demon. She stepped towards the body, before lifting it was impressive strength over her shoulder. Hane's eyes narrowed when he recognised the body... Percy, and he was still alive, judging from the flickering of his eyelids. Hane took a step closer to the edge, flinching when Mo's ear twitched, and his red eyes reflected in the faint moonlight.
"It has begun, Lilith. With this, I can change everything... we can fix this. And I won't let anyone stop me." He muttered. Hane heard a faint buzz, and managed to dodge just in time. A hair's width from his face, a small red skull collided with the wall nearby and exploded on contact. With dust and rubble momentarily between him and the others, Hane took his chance to run. He'd fight Mo, get back Percy- since he didn't plan on letting the boy die, at least not by anyone else's hand- but even Hane knew when he was outmatched. So he fled, back to the Tower, to the one who needed to know what happened the most.
