Note: This thread takes place at the exactly same time as 'Urg. Some prince you are...'
Sky often opted for following her brother around during the festival to make sure he didn't get himself in any trouble, knowing what he was like. It was like this every year since the festival began, and so far things had been good, people taking it all in stride, though it didn't hinder her worry. Up until this year when she watched some woman begin an argument with him. Sky would have gone down to help out, but she took note of the friend this woman was talking about and felt a shiver run down her spine as memories resurfaced. Banto. She know he was reborn now, not as he once was and she vowed not to hold the same grudge as everyone else did for him... But it didn't help the slight fear she felt at seeing him again, remembering what his human self did not just to her, but everyone else. But she swallowed that down as she went and stood next to him, discomfort visible through the shaking and the trembling, but she was willing to try. "Your friend cares much for you... And I know the ones she's arguing with cares just as much though it has been a while... I'm Sky by the way... If you didn't know. Its nice to see you out and abut again Banto." And it was, she would not lie about such things... She forgave him long ago for what his human self did, and would stick by that, doesn't mean the memories are any less easy to repress.

Banto hadn't known what the crowd of girls was about, even as Shyon growled and rushed forward into the crowd to meet someone. Banto waited behind, making himself as tall as possible to see over all the girls. He stopped to stare at the golden hair of one individual, and near him, the deep crimson red hair of another. He knew them both, it had been ten years, but Banto knew, and he quickly ducked down below the crowd, making sure neither Art or Marzzi saw him here. He didn't know if they hated him or not, or anything. He'd never seen them again after the incident with Havok. Banto wasn't even sure if they knew he was alright, but he was sure Art at least would have asked Yume as some point. He'd felt guilty about promising to never see them again, and ridiculous as it felt, even as a young man Banto still felt like he wasn't allowed to see them. His eyes were also darting around to make sure another boy with light hair wasn't around, Banto didn't know if he could stay here if Havok was attending the Festival too. He swallowed hard, deciding to find somewhere to sit down and wait for Shyon instead of stand awkwardly. There was just enough room on a bench, which turned into a lot of room as everyone sitting down left as Banto approached. Older people, probably some of the ones who knew him. At least Banto had the bench to himself now. He sat down, and watched the sea of girls, waiting for Shyon to come back. He caught the shadow of someone coming up to him, flinching as they spoke. "She does... and, a part of me hopes the other two don't. I'm sure I've caused their lives enough grief for being a part of it already, it would be nice to know they've moved on from... what happened." Banto didn't realise he was explaining this out loud to presumably a stranger, until she gave her name, and then his. Banto turned to look up to the young woman, watched her try to look confident and fail. He instinctively shuffled along the bench to give her space, "Sky?" He asked, trying to remember, then wincing. "I don't remember you... which means you know the old me, right?" Banto sighed, "I'm sorry... I can tell I... scare you a little, whatever I did, I'm sorry."

Sky looked over to the crowd of girls knowing her brother was just behind before chuckling and sitting next to Banto. "They care still, I know they do... No one really gets over what happened, if I heard correctly... But you were young, all of you, and mistakes are made, you just have to choose the moment to move on... With friends, its not that easy." She knew Art often went to see if Banto was back around the area, and often had to talk himself out of visiting his friend in fear of not just Yume, but the thought of Banto no longer seeing him as a friend, understandable, but silly, in her opinion. Smiling down to Banto, she knew he wasn't who he once was, and while the trembling didn't stop, nor the nagging discomfort, she didn't have the urge to run and hide as she may have once done. "Not scare, its more discomfort... And I know you are, its clear you are not the same man as your human self... You would have killed me by now if you were." Sky wanted him to see, and everyone else that there was nothing to fear... Many knew what happened to her and her brother back then, especially the older ones... And if she was talking to Banto civilly, the others had no excuse not to do the same. Leaning down to rest on her hands, Sky gave a sigh. "We have this festival to forget the past mistakes of others, the unity of the races... People seem to forget that when your reborn, your not always the same as you once were... My Papa a prime example for that. Personally, I forgave you long ago for what happened, took a few years once I heard you were reborn, wounds too fresh, but I got there... Its obvious you are different from the one others knew, I can vouch for that, having known you too well as a human... So my apologies for any discomfort I have, its nothing personal, just repressed memories trying to resurface."

"It isn't." Banto answered, gazing over to the others. "They were probably my only friends growing up but... what happened that day, it made me want to never see them again. I didn't hate them, I just... feared what happened would happen again. Now I look back and just... wish I could have at least seen them once more. I'm sure they'd spent these years thinking it was their fault." Banto explained. He never did much good, not for his friends, or anyone around him. He dreaded to see a day where thanks to him, Shyon suffered. It was bad enough that Banto was expecting that to happen one day between them, but perhaps he'd just grown pessimistic over the years stuck inside, condemned for living. Banto looked the woman up and down, chuckling awkwardly. "Why was I such a... monster?" He asked, mostly to himself. "Everyone seems to have suffered one way or another by the old me." He wished he could remember, at least what he did to Sky, and if Art was her brother, then surely there was a history between them that Banto didn't know, that Art refused to tell him when they were once friends. "Maybe it's because our soul doesn't change when we're reborn. There's a risk of us still being the same, and perhaps everyone expects me to start another war one day." Banto sighed, giving Sky a small smile. "Nothing to be sorry for, it's my fault those memories are there. Whatever they are... You know, despite knowing that everyone hates me, I don't know all that much about my old self, other than the fact that I started the war, destroyed Shiro and killed... a lot of people."

Sky gave a smile over to Banto. "Its not too late you know... Things will be different this time, you have all grown, all changed, things never happen the same way twice... They are just past that crowd of girls, you don't have to be alone, nor do you have to do anything... Sometimes, one talk can be what put things right..." Like here and now, Sky felt so much lifted off her chest now she spoke to Banto that she didn't know she had. Resting a hand on his shoulder, Sky thought back to all he did. "Your human self destroyed Shiro, with the help of Marzzi... And a few others, but you were the main benefactor... You kidnapped me and my brother and imprisoned us for years, hiding us away from our family... Cold, dark cells... You actually were the one to have Havok watch over us, he became a brother, and because of that you hurt him... You helped start the war, tried to kill Kaku, my Papa." Sky let that information sit with him a second, making sure he didn't leave during so. Listening to what he had to say next before smiling. "Prove them wrong... Your past self did many things, but if you regret them in this life, then you know not to do them again... And I do need to be sorry, you may be the reason why those memories are there... But I cant hate you for everything... You gave me a brother in Havok, made me some pretty good friends, helped me grow into who I am now... My relationship with my parents and brother is stronger then ever after the war you began... One bad deed, can open the door to many good things... Your old self was smart, and tactical, had a mouth on him too that I didn't help, not as bad as Marzzi though, I made life difficult, and you often would shout and threaten us for it... You helped the man who created Havok, well not create, but changed Havok... I'm sure you had reasons for what you did... And I'm sure that because of that, things will be different this time around. They already are... Just prove it to the others."

Note: Havok didn't come to the festival, even after Art practically begged him to. As this point, Havok has to be monitored constantly: Muzzled if he gets aggressive, and a device around his neck that will stun him if he attacks. Sky agreed to let this happen after years of Havok getting worse. It can be noted that Banto wasn't the last person Havok attacked, over the last 18 years Havok had gotten worse and worse. And the negative effect on him is that he believes he's not allowed to go out anymore. (Sound familiar? )Banto might go over there, or Shyon might bring him over. Or Art or Marzzi might see him. He knew today was a chance to finally talk to them again, despite the idea that he was still supposed to be avoiding them. It was just nerves, remembering last time, remembering years spent assuming they might not like him anymore, that kept Banto rooted to the bench for the moment. He twitched when a hand was on his shoulder, glancing towards Sky, watching her carefully as the discomfort slowly faded, if only a little. He had no reason to blame her for feeling uncomfortable around him, even less so when she explained how she knew him, and what Banto had done as a Human. He was shocked, it was worse than he thought. Banto swallowed, nodding slowly, feeling the urge to leave and hide, but knew Sky was keeping him down to prevent that very response. "Does Art even remember the old me then? Even after all that, he still wanted to make friends with me... and Havok, I guess... I get it now why he would have wanted me dead." Banto mumbled, before looking to Sky, "He's not here, is he?" He asked, trying and failing to not look too nervous. Banto had to take a few breaths, nod along to Sky's reassurance before he felt the chill to his skin calm down. "That's if they'll let me prove it. I think some people would rather see me gone rather than risk seeing a better me." He explained, sighing heavily, "But I have to try, I guess?" He asked, looking directly to Sky now. "I still think I need your forgiveness. Perhaps somethings I did turned out for the best, but I doubt the life I gave you was pleasant. In fact I know I made it a nightmare, I can tell you still carry scars, and I just wish there was a way to get rid of them, or do a good deed for you in this life, that might make up a little for the bad ones?"

Sky gave a smile to Banto before giving a small shake of her head. "Art was so young when we were imprisoned, that he did not remember whom it was, all he knew was memories of dark places and cold air. Though when he got older I did tell him of what happened, but like me, he knew a new life meant a new person, and didn't allow those thoughts to distinguish his thoughts of you in this life. As for Havok... He's not here, nor did he want you dead, after we freed him, young selves allowing nothing more, we didn't know what you did to save him from his blood lust the first times, as for that, he's reverted back to that state, or so I've discovered... It was nothing to do with who you are or were, he attacked me once in his craze." A scar in which still carried on her back, and the straw that she finally accepted in his state as to find a way to help him, while she worked out what more to do. Looking back over to the place in which her brother was, Sky gave a smile before looking back to Banto. "People live in fear still, all they need is the right push to get over that, too much happened in such a small stretch in time, and its something they don't forget, but will learn to forgive as they did for others." Giving a chuckle, Sky stood and held her hand out for Banto to follow. "I'll make you a deal, as I already do forgive you... You talk to my brother and Marzzi, you don't have to be alone in this, there's me and your friend... And you will have given a reason for the forgiveness. Fair trade? As I know Art and Marzzi still wish to be your friend."

Banto smiled a little. Art did seem attached to Marzzi and Banto. The prince could have had anyone as his friends, but he chose them, and now Banto could guess why. Give him whatever title as a egotistical and 'charming' prince, Banto knew Art was genuine and kind to his core. Making friends with his enemies, that was his code, and perhaps one day he'd take that code with him to rule with. The smile faded back down, thinking on Havok. Banto chuckled drily, "Whatever I did to save him back when I was a Human, it's made him hate me. I could tell, yes I know I was young and scared at the time, but... I could tell he was scared too, of me. It would be rather typical if it was my fault your brother is turning violent once more." Banto replied, the last few words muttered. Banto glanced as Sky got up, urging him to follow with the hand she held out. He looked at it, then to her, waiting until she'd finished speaking. "All right." He mumbled, taking her hand, getting himself onto his feet, nervously glancing around a bit more. "There's a sea of people to get through first... and I know my friend, she might have killed Art by now." Banto joked, chuckling, then glancing over the crowds to confirm that Art was in fact still alive, and unharmed. He smiled, looking over to his old friend, ducking down before Art could turn and see him. Banto swallowed, "I'll be dead you know, if Art doesn't want to know me, and his dad finds out I've upset his son."

Sky gave a small nod, yes it is true that Havok would have been afraid of Banto in this life due to the last, he did fear his human self after all, but her brother trusted Arts judgement more, and for them to becomes friends meant that she knew Havok would give the other a chance. "It was not your fault my brother turned violent, its just course of nature. We'll figure out how to help him, and show him he has nothing to fear this life around." Its what all her efforts went into now a days, against everyone else's judgement as she had other duties to attend to, but her Dada was more then willing to cover those for her, and help out however he could. Smiling to Banto, Sky gave a chuckle, the sea of people were no issue, she had free parting in if she needed due to being Arts sister, and the other girls would just have to put up them stealing him for a bit. "The girls are no issue, power of being Art's sister makes that easy, as for your friend killing him, I would like to see her try, I know she hasn't so far, as Art's posse hasn't gone off the deep end yet." Heaven forbid the day they do. Crazy women. Holding a hand of Banto's shoulder, Sky looked to him. "Papa will have to go through me first and trust me, I don't think he wants to have to do that again, knowing how bad it was last time, and I was eighteen years younger then..."

He wished he could believe it wasn't his fault. But Banto didn't know what he'd done to tame Havok in the first place, and his imagination could only think of the worst kinds of scenarios. He wondered on Sky's point, if they could help Havok now. "He's a Kyuban right?" Banto asked, "My dad is one too, only half but... I imagine Havok goes through what he goes through." Banto explained. "I am... developing a book of my own on them, mostly because I'm annoyed one doesn't exist yet. But, because I'm making it, it doesn't have any information I don't know already. From what I remember, Havok was altered to consume blood and not souls..." Banto trailed off, his hand coming to his chin to think on it some more. He could possibly help with this problem, no doubt some of his old books might help, perhaps the one on Ancient times, once Shyon got it for him. Everything had an explanation of some kind, it was just about finding it. Banto smiled, "Shyon's tough though, she's trying to train me to defend myself more. I don't know if even a posse could stop her when she's mad." He joked, smiling a little. He looked to Sky when she literally grabbed hold of his attention, smiling sadly. "King Kakushin was the one person my mother warned my about the most. I know exactly why he hates my, what I did to him to deserve that. Believe me, I'd rather have the chance to get on his good side, but... I understand if that never happens." Banto explained, looking over as some girls squealed, making him wonder if Art was moving somewhere. "Should we go then?"
