Ru had to admit Nick and Blye did wonders on the festival once again, Nick especially as he knew how much work he puts into it, though he was getting a little annoyed with the twins running around pranking the others... But it was all in good taste, and as long as it wasn't aimed at him, then Ru allowed them to have fun. Ru had already searched all over the grounds both here and in Sora to see what was going on, and to get a peek at what some of the others were doing. It was pleasant to see Chester out and about again, her kids often trailing behind, and Ru was glad her and Akvan were getting along well again, he worried for his sister, though it did remind him to later talk to them about something. He had yet to see Nanari, but with current things having gone on, he knew why, Ru never thought one would be able to get her so downhearted, but it happened. Who Ru didn't expect to see around was Banto, though he was with Yume and possibly Gensho if he hadn't got caught up in the crowds for the ball... And one of his Demons. It had been so long, and he was glad to see him out and about again, even if some were giving some looks who knew who it was. Ru took a breath though, and headed over, smiling to them. "Ignore everyone, they are still living in a past that has long since left us." Ru held out his hand to Banto, giving Yume a small nod to show he wasn't planning anything. "I'm Rurushu, but you can call me Ru. It's nice to see you out and about again.. I hope it can become a regular occurrence." Ru took in the Demons stance, and put together how she must have done something to convince the other, but said nothing. But Ru did turn to Yume quickly. "Is Gensho around here? I need to talk to him about the Ball... I'm setting up a speech in the middle of it in Onrah's memory, as its been so long since we allowed ourselves to enjoy something like this... I thought he might like to say a few words, alongside Akvan if he accepts as well."

Books really couldn't describe atmosphere like this. They also didn't made Banto feel light headed and nervous when it came to moving through crowds. Not everyone was staring at him, but gods it felt like they were, Banto could feel the gazes of others burning into the back of his neck at times. Fortunately the festival had many means of distracting him, and Yume and Shyon knew exactly what kind of stalls to take the boy to that would clear his head. Mostly ones that sold books, or one stall that were asking for challengers to games of Kingdom Defence, a board game that was in the style of a tactical war with two teams trying to take over each others Kingdoms. Banto was very good at it, from years of practising against himself or his parents, to a point where he knew almost every strategy for winning. They'd spent a fair amount of time feeding Banto those sorts of stalls to keep him relaxed, and it worked for a while.
But then the others forced Banto to be a bit braver, wandering around over Baransu a little more. Gensho had long run off to help plan the Ball tonight, and Banto was curious to see if his father wanted any help, which was why they moved into the general direction of the tower, thought it was hard pressed to go straight there when the flow of the crowds was so strong. Someone made Banto jump suddenly, a voice close and directed towards him. They said something about ignoring people, to which Banto looked around and noticed a few glares pointed his way. He chuckled nervously, looking to the offered hand, then blinking a little. "Rurushu? The King right? Oh... I hope I.. s-sorry if I did anything horrible to you before. I'm... guessing you know who I am." Banto replied quickly, unaware he was shaking the hand very quickly as well. "Father went up to the Tower, didn't he?" Banto asked towards his mother.

Yume was a bit reluctant at first to let Banto out, knowing that people still wanted her boy dead, Kaku especially. But after hearing some bitts and being convinced by Gensho and Banto's new friend Shyon, how she was convinced by her she'll never know, Yume allowed it. And in the end was kind of grateful, also reluctantly admitting, to Shyon for helping to distract Banto from the glares. It wasn't until Gensho ran off, it only being a matter of time that Yume thought it was time to follow and have her boy go into a bit more territory, something she didn't expect herself to allow, let alone force. She sent a glare Ru's way before dropping it and looking around for the other, Yume had no qualms with Rurushu, he proving himself to help time and time again even against Kaku's wishes, and gave a small smile to the King, something else she never expected herself to do, before looking to her son and nodding. "Ru's okay, he's helped a lot in the past, we can trust him." Big words, coming from her really, enough it seemed even Ru was surprised. "And yes, Gensho went to the tower to help with setting up the ball, I swear that man is more excited over that instead of the 'family day out' then again, first ball in a while... I'm sure he's already has something planned to say, I remember him wondering if he would be allowed. But that's where were headed now, if you want to join us..." The politest Yume had ever been, if only because parenthood changed her a little to know not to swear and be horrible around kids... And the bloody festival was full of them. Remind her why she was here again?

The Kings and their families were a target Banto knew he'd hurt a lot in the past. From what he remembered being told, kidnapping their children and seemingly executing one of their close friends had been only a few things. It all made Banto hate his old self, but made him feel a little upset, in a word, to face one of the Kings now, imagine all of those horrible things he'd done once. How had he even been Human, doing what he'd done once? Banto blinked, and shook away the thoughts, that wasn't really him anyway, the old Banto wasn't like the present one, the boy himself was wise enough to see that. Ru seemed calm enough, which helped Banto relax, as well as his mother's reassurance. She held her tongue a lot these days, Banto found it amusing how even his mother had changed over the years. He'd noticed even when younger that she often conflicted against herself on whether to be harsh or be kind, the latter was never something she'd been used to. Banto didn't mind his father going off, he could tell there was some history for the man with events like this, although Gensho never elaborated much on his past to Banto. With Yume talking, Banto looked around, finding many glares had gone now, perhaps because Ru was there with them. He listened in once they began moving, turning to ask Shyon about things around them that he'd didn't immediately recognise from any books. Then something new surprised him. He turned to look forwards, and met something splatting right into his face as he did. Someone yelled something after the collision, then ran off. Leaving Banto confused as the remnants of what seemed to be a pie of some kind dropped from his face. He got what it meant, but didn't gloom over the 'attack', instead he chuckled, cleaning around his eyes to look to the others. "It could have been a brick." He stated, "This is a much nicer alternative... it tastes pretty good." He joked, beginning to wipe the jam and stuff away, taking a few deep breaths to relax from the shock.

Shyon was glad to see Banto having fun, and it was a silent agreement between her and Yume about keeping him distracted from everyone. Shyon was surprised that Yume even allowed this though, and even more so that they were somewhat getting along, though she hoped it was because she could be 'trusted' after what she's proven to Banto's mother. And Shyon for once got to come here with company and not hide in the shadows alone, so it was pleasant explaining things to her friend that he didn't know, despite what others might think of it being tiresome and boring. She had made several glares to people though throughout the day, as well as made some threats. When Rurushu came over, she changed her stance to be that or protective not knowing if Kakushin managed to convince Ru of another opinion, however dropped it when she saw that he was being honest... Not a hard feat from the king, and she recognised it with a slight barely there bow. But that was a mistake as the pie came hurdling before hand before she could react... Clearly she allowed herself too much fun and relax to miss such a sign. And despite Banto's calm acceptance of what happened, Shyon was not the same. Smiling slightly, she put a hand of Banto's shoulder, before running after the culprit and quickly shoving them against the wall. "Listen here you little shit... Your so fucking lucky my friend shrugged off this little issue, because it makes me want to respect his wishes to ignore it. But you see, I'm not as kind and considerate as Banto over there, I'm a lot more deadly... So here's what's going to happen, you will apologise, I'll let you go. Or, you can not apologise, and we shall see just how tasty that pie was, and by we, I mean you..."

Things could have been much worse, Banto could be badly injured and not licking his face clean right now. But he supposed because this was the Festival to celebrate the beginning of peace after that terrible war, even the one responsible for that tragedy was given some slack. And Banto could agree to a pie compared to a rock or brick any day. The others didn't take it as well as Banto did, or how he pretended to. It might be the most innocent of assaults, but Banto knew what it meant, those glares were burning his back again, and he didn't need to turn around to know they were there. He felt Shyon's hand, then watched her run off, chase down the poor lad that had smirked as he thought his escape was guaranteed. It made Banto wince to see how Shyon handled this, wiping off the remains of the food, walking slowly after her, keeping a much more wary eye on everyone around him. He caught the last bits of what she said, and watched the kid shake. He was about the same age as Banto, maybe older, but Shyon despite her size was tough, and it seemed to shock the guy. "Alright I'm sorry! My friends egged me on to do it, I swear!" The guy said, by this point, Banto was by Shyon's side. The guy looked his way, resisting the urge to smirk, and remembering Shyon's threat. He went to talk, but Banto beat him. "It's alright, no need to say it. I should instead, say I'm sorry. Sorry... if the war cause you any suffering back then. And I'm sure you want to throw more at me than just a harmless pie... But, just a reminder. You probably wanted to throw that at Banto Mondai, the guy who was to blame for much in the war right? Well, sorry, but I'm Banto Night, I'm not the same guy you think I am... we just look the same." Banto said, and the guy shut up, looking at Banto with a frown, his confidence gone and confusion settling in. Banto smiled slightly, a hand on Shyon's shoulder, "It's fine, let him go... this is meant to be about having fun, isn't it?"

Shyon smirked as she saw the scared look on the lads face before looking over to Banto and listening in, oh how she wanted to smile and hug Banto for how he was dealing with it all, knowing his first fears of coming here. But didn't in too much anger at the lad pressed against the wall. She almost shrugged the hand of her shoulder, about ready to show the boy what she was made of, but instead gave a deep breath and pushed him into the wall with more force before releasing him. Quickly getting back in his face to say one last thing. "Be glad Banto here is far too nice for his own good. Because I was damn well about ready to knock some sense into you... And its only because of this guy here your not missing a few teeth..." Finally letting the guy go, Shyon took another breath and turned to Banto all fight leaving her. "I know, I know, but you don't fucking deserve that... You've done nothing wrong, and I hate how people still cant see that. It just gets my blood boiling." She hoped some would now see that this Banto was not the one they knew back then, hell, she didn't even believe the stories told anymore after getting to know Banto Night. "Lets just head to the tower yeah? See if your dad needs any help setting up... I'm sure he has something for you to do."

The Festival had been a good idea, and each year it proved to get better. Not on year had there been tensions between the three races, they got along as if there wasn't any differences. And the differences that were too clear to miss, were embraced instead. Like Demons letting little toddlers chase their tail, or Angels giving Humans lifts to get a better view. It was all so fun, and Kaku was proud with how far it was coming, how things seemed so much better than before. The Ball was tomorrow, that would be a big event. Kaku wasn't expecting anything bad to happen, not like the last time everyone came together for an evening of dance and company, but he was nervous. Any of those alive who remembered that ball so many years ago were nervous for this one, from memories alone.
The King didn't let it get him down, and was enjoying the planning towards it. He left when Gensho arrived, practically taking over plans for the Baransu Tower hall, to be used once more as a Ballroom for Blye and whoever he chose to invite, a small group of trusted individuals, for the sake of running no risks. Kaku didn't want to get in the way of anyone's work, so he left to explore Baransu, fly over the top and watch. The colours of the stalls, the flowers still around from the first day, and so many people just enjoying themselves, despite all the crowds. Only Kaku could notice his husband in such a crowd, seeing the Demon king walking about, and dropping to land near him. He went to smile to Ru, before seeing Yume talking with him. They'd never gotten over the tension between them called Banto, and Kakushin wasn't ready to start. He looked to Ru first, "Gensho's all but taken over the Tower." He said, before looking to Yume, face neutral. "Hello Yume, enjoying the Festival? Alone, I take it?" Or rather, he hoped it, because Kakushin didn't want to see this week ruined.

Yume somehow was really starting to like that girl as she watched her chase the fool who thought he would get away with what he did. Yume didn't even get chance to react before Shyon was after him, and her dear son after her to stop her from doing something stupid. It went to prove she was right and that Banto could be raised right... To be different from his human self, and she was glad to see him so open about things for once. Yume glared to the few who were watching on, before turning back to Ru and giving a small smile, he would understand what it meant. Though the smile quickly faded into a scowl as Kaku arrived, and she gave him a sarcastic head to the side smile as she battered her eye lashes. "I was enjoying the festival before my innocent son was pied in the face by a human... From the sounds of things you should be glad he's around, other wise you may have been clearing blood off the floor as his friend murdered the poor lad... He's very forgiving and kind you see, even when the others don't deserve it." Yume wouldn't hold her hate towards Kaku, nor try to hide the fact her son was here, he had as much right as everyone else, and she was damn well going to show that. "So no, I'm not here alone, I'm with my son and his friend, we were about to head over to the ball room to find Gensho, so if you would excuse us." Yume tried not to pick a fight, no matter how hard it was as she headed over to where Banto and Shyon were heading back, she knew Kaku wouldn't let them leave so easily, but this was just her way to show she was being respectful and wasn't trying to start anything.

Kaku hadn't seen Yume in person in years, she'd changed. Her scowl had relaxed, of course it returned when he approached, but from afar, she didn't seem like the same woman. He knew what effected her, children. Having a family to call her own rather than living, knowing herself as Yume, the Angel of Dreams that kept everyone away. She had to change herself, for her child, and for the fact she'd promised Kaku to prove him wrong, and Yume never went back on her word. He looked down to the floor, to a trail of pie, leading over to the back of a thin teen, dark hair and pale skin. He hadn't seen those cold coloured eyes yet, but Kaku knew it was Banto himself. Older, more similar looking to his Human self. Kaku's eyes snapped back to Yume as her sarcasm showed, hiding a glare to her words. "There would have been an issue if he wasn't here." Kakushin muttered as she passed, not taking long to turn and follow her. An issue he'd brought up when warning her the first time, long ago. That it didn't matter if Banto was different, if he was so kind and forgiving. Others weren't so kind and forgiving, and some weren't so nice as to hold back their hatred. A pie today, something more sinister tomorrow. Kaku wondered how long it would take for other's displeasure with him to chip at Banto's 'kindness'. Kakushin marched behind Yume, keeping in time with her steps, if she wasn't going to pick a fight, neither was Kaku, his hand was far from his sword and his face was neutral, not annoyed or angry. When they reached the kids, Kaku was quick to talk. "You must be Banto then, you've grown quick." Kakushin began. "I'm Kakushin, as you probably know, the King of Angels. And so you also probably know that your safety is my job." Kakushin said, not offering a bow of his head with his name. "This situation, I assume, is one of many you've grown to expect. Others don't take kindly to your appearance, it makes me wonder if you are even comfortable being here." Kakushin expected Yume to react, but turned to Ru before she could. He'd surely have say in this too, Ru never spoke much on his opinion on the whole Banto situation before, mostly because Kakushin didn't tell him about it for years, until Ru himself asked the ex-war criminal's fate. "It's dangerous isn't it? How many of your Demons are out here, ready to do something less than pleasant to the one that hurt them those years ago?" He asked quieter to the Demon King, "They could get hurt, especially if Banto's friend there is as impulsive as it sounds."

Ru smiled over to Kaku as he arrived, but knew it would be short lived when he knew who was here. He didn't even have time to laugh at the Gensho situation before Yume got involved, and gave a sigh knowing where this was going. Though Ru was impressed she didn't start a fight, and instead tried to leave peacefully, it just went to show exactly how much things had changed. Ru began to panic as Kaku introduced himself to Banto, and he could feel the hate roll off his husband before he even began talking, and took his hand in a hope, though it inevitably failed, that it would calm him down enough to be civil. For the most part it was, up until Kaku asked that question and looked to Ru for back up, something he wouldn't give as he most certainly did not agree. "Actually my love. I have to disagree... Banto has done nothing wrong, in fact this is the first we have seen from him since his birth... Its everyone else who has the problem, and his friend here had every right to do what she did, I know I would have done the same if it was you... I don't see how its any different that it so happened to be protecting Banto here." Ru honestly didn't understand why people were so caught up in what happened... Banto did terribly things as a human, but he isn't human anymore, its clear he is different, been raised different and it shouldn't be allowed. Heaven knows how some have done things too, and not got any long lasting blame, and they have the capability of doing it again. "Besides, Human Banto was not alone in what he did, and yet we do not hunt down the other culprit who may still be alive... I don't see how such hostility towards Banto here is justified." Clear points, though he knew it would likely fall on deaf ears for his husband, caught up in his hate for the human look alike.
