Note: Banto is around 18-19 now, still at Yume's home.
Banto could build his own house, over the sheer volume of books stacked up in there. But instead he'd just settle for his room, having one to call his own was nice, after the years of hard work renovating his mother's place to somewhere more spacious. They had a library, but those books belongs to his mother, the books piled up against every wall of Banto's room were his. Books on adventurers, on strategy, on maths or science, on fictional tales or legends. All sorts of books, and Banto had read all of them hundreds of times over. Simply because he'd barely left the house in the last... eighteen years. The world out there was dangerous, and Banto had a nasty scar across his throat to prove it. Every time he stepped outside, when not following his mother or father when they were doing their job, disaster struck. So naturally, Banto did what anyone would do in his situation. He grew terrified of the outside world.
For years now Banto hadn't left the house, he'd not seen sun in years, and it showed on his pale skin, and dark ringed eyes. He was also incredibly small and lanky, eating little, and doing little other than sitting around reading or writing. But he didn't care much, life was content here, if quiet and lonely at times. Banto sometimes missed going outside, or having friends, then he just saw those teeth around his neck, and reminded himself that he wasn't welcome out there. So he'd look out a window, covered in dust and never opened, only to sigh, and return to his book. He was currently marching into the kitchen, nose pressed into a book as he read and walked, hardly paying attention as he poured himself some tea. In this household, Banto had a deftness over preparing tea, so much he could do it blind. So with skill, he quickly assembled a warm cup of tea, carrying it in his free hand as he study an interesting page of his book.

Shyon had heard much in her time on the streets, travelling around and doing what she did best. But a rumour spread round, so rare to hear now but not unheard of about a boy a little older then her living in this world, one none wanted to be here, and curiosity always get the better of her. She learnt the kids name was Banto, known for doing terrible things in his time as a human, and how even the Angel King himself almost killed the boy. Shyon couldn't pass up the opportunity to meet him, and headed off towards the part of the world he was rumoured to be resting in... She should have known it was Yume's home, the woman waking quite a name for herself even amongst the humans... None dared to fight her, but if need be Shyon was up for the challenge. She snuck into the house, more mansion then the 'shack' she had heard about, and made herself comfortable in the kitchen, perched on the counter nursing a tea and watching. It was about fifteen minuets later as she finished her drink that someone walked in, and by the looks of things, it was Banto... She smirked as he didn't see her, before tilting her head to the side and regarding him as he read. The most prominent features the eyes and skin tone, but the angry red scar around his next also stood hold. "What was it that got you huh? A cockroach? A spider? A Kyuban perhaps? Oh and its ever so impolite to not offer your guest a drink... Did your mother never teach you any manners huh? Banto?"

This book was so strange. It was, of course, written in a foreign language, belonging to a very old Clan. One of the first the Humans had made, one that didn't last long. Banto had to learn the language before understanding any of the words, but still, that just made the book much more interesting to read. And having spent weeks of pure language learning, he was very eager to decipher this whole book today. He was going well, so immersed that anything could go passed him and he'd not even feel the air shift. He sipped on his tea, almost out of the kitchen door, when a voice made him jolt. Banto turned around quickly, spilling a good portion of his tea onto the floor. He slammed the book closed, holding it close to his chest, and stared bewildered at this random stranger in the kitchen. He'd never met a stranger before... not since then, especially not one who broke into houses. Oh no, Banto knew her kind from his books. Bandits, thieves, murderers. She was going to kill him, Banto was going to die. He spluttered a little, remnants of tea down the sides of his mouth, going even more pale than his usual. He put the hand with his half empty tea cup forwards, as if threatening her with the cup like it were his only weapon. "S-stay b-b-back!" He yelped, pushing himself back against a wall. She looked terrifying, like a living shadow. And, yes, she had a knife, at least one, around her belt.
She was an assassin, someone finally hired an assassin to kill him. Banto was going to die, he was going to... Banto blinked a little, feeling his head all a sudden weight ten times heavier than usual. He found it hard to breath, or keep his eyes focus. He'd read about this, these were the symptoms of someone about to faint. And Banto recalled the exact volume he'd read on the matter, before collapsing to the floor.

Shyon hadn't even moved as she regarded Banto, for one living with Yume... He was sure a coward, and Shyon found amusement in it, he was of no threat, that was easy enough to tell, pathetic even, but she said nothing as she watched him threaten her with a tea cup, and then proceed to faint. She gave a roll of her eyes, man if she was here to kill him, he just gave her the perfect opportunity, but alas she groaned as she picked him up and easily carried him to the living room, and returning to the kitchen for a glass of water... Which she then proceeded to pour over the boy, though she did make sure to move any valuable and damageable items out the way first, as well as take of her hood to look a little less terrifying for when he awoke. She looked down at Banto, resting the glass on the edge of a table and leaning over the back of the sofa to stare at him face, giving a smirk. "Lesson number one: When meeting a possible enemy, don't faint, it will cost you your life." Raising an eyebrow at him, as if to question why he did so, Shyon gave an amused chuckle before leaning back up. "Lesson number two: Cups make great weapons when you know how to use it right. Holding it out to the enemy is not using it right."

It wasn't like Banto passed out a lot. In fact he'd never fainted before, it just sort of happened. Then again, he'd not faced so much stress before, well not since that time as a child. He knew fainting would make him easy to kill, but once it happened, there was no stopping it. Although, from Banto's perspective, one moment he was hitting the cold floor, the next he was waking up to a sudden splash of cold water over his face. Banto's eyes flew open, and he spat out a spray of the water in surprise, shaking his dizzy head a little. Looking to his side, the girl was still there, although her hood was down. He was still shaking, and still just as pale and scared, even if she'd not killed him yet. She was just toying with him, even her words suggested she was just a hunter playing with it's prey. He swallowed hard, reminding himself he was no easy prey to kill, with his magic he could at least give himself time to get to his mother for help or hide somewhere.
Banto tried to steady his breathing, and himself, when he almost fell off the sofa. One hand on his chest to feel the rapid pounding of his heart beat, the other wiped his face from what water and tea he could. "And... and how exactly would you use a cup as a weapon?" Banto asked, having no idea why he asked. But, perhaps if he could distract her enough, it would give him time to plant portals and plan an escape route. "Wh... What exactly do you want with me... other than the obvious?" Banto asked finally, finding some small amount of confidence. "You're clearly here to kill me, I m...may not know what's out there, but I know many who live out there want me dead. What... What confuses me is why you're talking s.. so much."

Shyon gave Banto a sinister grin before replying. "Ever heard of stabbing your enemy? Easily done with a broken cup... Sharp shards that lodge into your skin." She would know, the last thief she caught got a shard of ceramic in his eye and one lodged up his nose before he knew she was there, and after she would rather not talk about. Shyon knew he was planning to run, she would let him, if need be, she would just stay here, he would be back eventually, Yume in tow, and Shyon did want to meet the woman. Flopping down on a neighbouring sofa, Shyon began to polish her dagger, eyes glinting to Banto. "I'm not here to kill you, you would know if I was, you would already be injured. Last man I killed I shot an arrow through his eyes before he even saw me coming. Then I skinned him alive, he did do the same to some poor woman for trying to fight him off, justice I think. And I know many out there want you dead, its how I found about you in the first place... You did some awful things in your life as a human, and many believe you living now isn't justice for that. I say they are assholes who just want to blame someone. No, not here to kill you. I want something else, the rumours about you intrigued me, I wanted to see if the infamous Banto really was just 'being trained to kill the Angel King as he tried in his human life...' Clearly not, seeing how pathetically cowardly you are."

Banto sat up, eyeing up the girl, feeling a shiver down his back when she brought out a dagger, cleaning it in his face. Banto swallowed, feeling bile in his throat. Sharp shards lodging into your skin, that made Banto shiver even more violently, and one hand grasped around his throat instinctively, and the other had cover his mouth not to just throw up from how nervous he was. And, her description of killing a man wasn't helping. Banto gagged a few times, taking a long breath to try and calm himself down, and tried to not picture the condition this man was left in after this girl was done. She must be an assassin then, he concluded, to do such a thing. Even if for good reasons, she killed people, and probably just pretended that Banto wasn't on that list. Then, a very small glare set in, barely visible through the fear on his face, and sweat from stopping himself from vomiting. "Why do they want me dead? I... I've done nothing to them, nothing but live here and leave them all alone. It's... I never killed all those people, that was a Human named Banto, n.. not me." Banto muttered, sighing loudly, "But no one can see that, they just think I'm some... sly and evil creature, even though I'm an Angel. It's because of them, because they'd hurt me the moment they saw me, that I'm so pathetically cowardly." Banto rubbed his neck a little harder. He glanced around once, before his eyes set on the woman again. "However, it's also because of them, that I've learnt to be wary." Banto then focused forward, and four of his fingers extended completely. He knew one trick to combat intruders, one he'd taught himself after reading a horror book that had for months convinced Banto that he was going to be attacked one night by a ghoul wielding a saw. Each of the fingers connected to a portal, and each portal was placed around the sofa in which the girl sat. And each portal would lead to one another, meaning it was basically a magical trap, you could only go through one to come back out through another. There were small gaps, since the portals were round shaped, on the edges, but none would lead directly to Banto to allow the girl to throw a dagger at him. Also there was no roof, Banto wasn't strong enough to add a fifth portal yet.
When the hum of portals settled in, Banto took a deep breath. "I'm not being trained to kill the King, and I'm not planning anything evil, I... I just want to be left to my books, please." Banto asked, unable to believe he was pleading with an assassin sent to kill him.

Shyon gave a smirk at the question, about to move before the portals appeared. Shaking her head, seeing many places to escape, she knew Banto needed real training if he had any chance against anything in this world. What kind of sheltered life had Yume kept him in? But she didn't escape yet, let Banto believe he was safe for now. "You became an Angel because the big shot in the sky was the one to kill you. If you died any other way, you would be just like me, a Demon. And they want you dead for what you represent, a bad human who could make the same god damn mistakes if in the wrong hands. Don't worry, I know the truth now." Standing up, Shyon slipped through the gaps around the portals, before crouching by Banto and tilting her head to the side. "Your nothing but a momma's boy who is better using his head then his fists. Which can be just as deadly in a fight as anything else. I'm not here to kill you Banto, I came of my own accord, I can see the fear in your eyes, don't be, I don't like to hurt the ones who have done nothing to me. I'm not even an assassin of that type, I help little old ladies in the street find their missing cats, or chase down assholes who think they can get away with something evil... I may find enjoyment over it, but they deserve their punishment. But there are some out there with that kind of job.. Its only a matter of time. Not even Yume would be able to help if she's not here, and clearly your magic isn't strong enough to help you." Too much enjoyment from scaring the boy, but she needed to set fear into him, more so then anything, because once you hit a certain amount of fear, people try to prove you wrong about things, and she hoped that he might try to do the same. Besides, she wasn't exactly lying to him about anything.

It wasn't like Banto had ever had to use his magic to defend himself before. Only to teleport home or to a safe spot. He'd never used it on someone else, only trained himself to. But, this girl was good at her job, good at being slippery. So he was half surprised when she slipped through a gap in the wall he'd made, but also half expecting it. Banto shuffled back behind the sofa for some pathetic amount of cover, keeping a good few feet away from her every time she tried closing in. Banto knew who he'd been before, his mother told him the harsh truth of it all years ago, and his father had put it a little gentler that the world hadn't forgiven his Human self yet. Banto understood their hate, but didn't understand why it was aimed at him. The assassin spoke to him again, Banto paying a bit more attention now. He still didn't believe she was here not to kill him, but he assumed that about anyone who wasn't his parents these days. Even friends had the motive to kill him, as Banto had once learnt when he was younger. "I know. I know there's people out there who'd come after me, or send killers at me. M... mother wanted to teach me to fight, but I refused." Banto looked down to the floor, shaking his head. "Not just because I'm too big a coward, but because fighting is what made them hate the.. other me. I didn't want to appear like him. If I couldn't fight, I just stayed here, inside and with my books, hoping the world might forget I still exist." He sighed, "Clearly not." "If you came here to see the real me, and not kill me, then fine. Now you know, so could you please leave?"

Excellent was Shyon's only thought at the idea of him not being trained in fighting. Something for her to do while she waited out for more criminals and thieves to be addressed. Train the boy who everyone hates. "Its not that easy... People forgetting, I still hear stories about someone way before our time, the things he did. The rule he inflicted... No matter what, people will remember and your story will circuit around. You'll have to fight some off one day, if they ever find the guts to sneak in Yume's house." Giving Banto a smirk, she moved till she was back on the sofa, legs crossed and arms on her lap. "I'm going to teach you. Here. I need something to do... My motives are my own, so don't question as to why. I'm also going to help you with your magic... Teach you how to control it, make it stronger, because it intrigues me... And I like a challenge." Shyon really just wanted to make the fighter in him come alive again, she knew people were planning to come after him eventually, they were just steeling themselves up to go against Yume, or later face her wrath if they hurt this kid. Shyon made a promise to herself to help people, and it was clear now this was the only way to help him, even if he didn't know it.

Banto sighed. He read plenty of stories, of heroes and villains alike. He dreaded to think that someone out there had written a story of the war, and the evil and cunning Banto Mondai who had harboured a deep hatred for everyone, and killed even allies without mercy. If they had, well there would be no hope in finding anyone out there who wouldn't look at Banto know and see what he'd been like in the past. Banto crossed his arms, "If I could see my past self again, I'd call him a prick for getting me stuck in all this mess." Banto mumbled, sighing heavily. He watched the girl now with a glare, calm enough to wager she didn't plan on killing him just yet, if at all. So he grumbled a little, seeing how she also wasn't planning on leaving either. He frowned when she claimed she was going to teach him, and Banto almost snorted. "Oh really? Well I don't like a challenge, at least not ones written down in a book. And speaking of books, I should really be getting back to my reading." Banto replied, going for the door. "I have no intention on learning to fight, if my own mother couldn't convince me, I doubt a girl sneaking into my house will, especially since I don't even know your name." He added, hoping he could make it out of the room to then break into a sprint upstairs into his bedroom and lock the door. He could act like he still wasn't a little scared of her, but really, Banto was just hoping she wasn't going to kidnap him or something to complete this ridiculous goal of hers.

Shyon grabbed Banto by the back of the shirt in the blink of an eye while he tried to escape, and shoved him back on the sofa before cowering over him. He would learn how to fight, or so help her she would cause issues. She didn't want to see an innocent boy die while she could do something to help. "I'll make you a deal, because your learning to fight either way. You make a considerable amount of improvement with your magic, as its something that really could help the world if you used it right. And learn the basics with sword, and bow.. As well as fist fighting, then I will get you any book you desire so that you have new reading material after every training session until I believe your able to defend yourself. Even if you'll have the eloquence of a prancing monkey" Something she could do knowing a owner at a shop who throws away old stuff that doesn't sell, or will make her work to earn what she wants with little to no work after helping her with a thief problem a year ago. "What do you say?" Shyon let go of Banto and moved back, letting him have the chance to walk off now if he really wanted. Though she would be back, and would force a fight out of him. "Oh the names Shyon..."

Banto grunted as the air rushed passed him, feeling himself being chucked over to the sofa once more, his arms raised defensively, expecting a knife to come down or something, guessing the assassin had done tormenting him now. But, she just glared down at him, still talking about training Banto for some reason. He didn't like deals, Banto usually kept to himself, and deals meant doing thing with or for others. But, his reward for doing as this girl wanted seemed very interesting. The shine in his eyes when she mentioned books was obvious, and Banto struggled to not give in. The struggle lasted a mere few seconds, "I have a list of books I want, I'll give it to you, alright?" He asked, looking up to the assassin before looking away, annoyed as he gave in. "But fine, you can teach me, I'm only going out into the wastelands though, I... I just can't go anywhere else." He said, the last parts muttered, evident fear still clamping his throat as he spoke. "Shyon." Banto repeated, locking the name away in his head. "Well you already know mine, as well as a scary amount of information on me, so no need for introductions."

Shyon gave Banto a smirk of victory as he agreed to the deal before giving him a slight nod. "No worries, we wont need to go any further then that lake you have out back, I wont take you anywhere else, and I'll provide the weapons too. Just don't tell Yume about this, I would rather not have someone trying to intrude on my dreams even if they do control them." Shyon eventually moved back before giving off a laugh. "Knowing things is kind of my deal, the things I could tell you about the life Yume lead before she became an Angel. I've heard the stories around the black market of a woman matching her description giving away her fortune to nothing but a little girl, some of the older men, man do they still hate her for that." But that was a story for another day, as Shyon gestured to Banto. "Get me the list, and I'll see what I can do, I'll be back in exactly a weeks time, so be ready, because you damn well aren't getting out of this." And he really wasn't, if only for his safety, and she would perhaps up the training depending on how bad he was, and how quick he picked it all up.
