Notes: After hearing about the loss of the Mun clan, and Zuura, Akvan returns to Purgatory, even in a weak state, to fight Shinda.
The last time Akvan had left without telling anyone, he'd stormed Exitium's castle alone. A lot of people died because of his rash actions, and since then, Akvan tried not to think about doing something so rash again. But, it seemed even trying to be patient had it's problems. Because whilst Akvan assumed he still had time to rest, Shinda and Itami grew bored, and it was obvious they'd taken it out on the world. Because the Mun clan had been lost. That clan that accepted the monster Akvan had appeared to be years ago, allowed him to guide them and help rebuild them when he made mistakes. And not just the clan. But Akvan's best friend, Zuura was dead. There was no way someone like Zuura could be killed without intervention of a different realm. Akvan knew it was Shinda's doing, but what confused and angered Akvan was that he was still due a week or more before returning, according to the time he'd been given to recover. Knowing Shinda wanted him back with the awful news Akvan had overheard, he decided to once again act rash. He could barely stand, or hold his own weight, but the Sun child still travelled to the portal. He'd learnt that so long as he used only a single chant at once, his magic could still be used without much change considering the destruction of the majority of Akvan's soul. It was one thing, at least, to give Akvan confidence.
But there was no way he could enter this next fight thinking he'd come back unharmed. Akvan went knowing he'd be tortured again, worse than before, perhaps even killed this time by the evil pair. But he didn't hesitate to land in that swamp, and stumble his way through the portal. Because they'd murdered his best friend, and Akvan wasn't going to stay lying down just waiting them to kill off someone else he loved. Akvan vision was bad, but he could have sworn he saw a few flashes of colour as he entered Purgatory, though they were gone by the time he'd landed in the horrible realm. Not a few seconds after Akvan had appeared there, was his breathing caught off. A clawed hand grabbed his throat and picked up the Sun child. Shinda snarled up to Akvan, before smirking and slamming him back against the archway. "And what fucking time do you call this? That was a long two weeks you Sun shit." Shinda hissed, giving Akvan no time to talk as the Devil connected his free hand to Akvan's stomach, opening some of the wounds there, probably breaking a rib or two as well. All Akvan could do now was panic, and wonder in confusion what Shinda meant by what he'd said. Whatever the case was, there was no hint that Shinda was about to hold back, the Devil looked furious, more than usual.

Shinda wouldn't admit it to Itami, his new companion to share this version of Purgatory with, but that last fight wasn't exactly easy. There were times Shinda struggled to accept his evils, and it took a while to remind himself of his purpose. He wondered if what he and Itami had done was beyond the reaches of just evil, and at times Shinda had felt sick. But, he'd spent some time to himself, staring at surfaces of water, chanting to himself that he was the embodiment of evil, this all needed to happen. He pictured the ideal world in his head, and got himself back in the correct mood once more. The Shinda everyone knew him as, the Shinda they needed to know him as. He couldn't show weakness, and destroy all he'd worked for. Itami seemed suspicious at times, but with a few insults the Demon woman was quick to show him respect, since he'd granted her this space to live in, somewhere much more entertaining than the world she'd grown to know.
Shinda thought he'd be ready to punish Akvan again after two weeks, plotting what kind of pain he could put the Sun child through, hoping that one session, there wouldn't even be a fight, or Shinda would be begged by the others to give their loved one more time for rest. Shinda had all sorts of plans on how to prove himself, and how to destroy hope and good, he amused himself on that fourteenth day with the ideas. But then that day ended, and so did many after that. The Devil grew restless, getting more snappy at his companion, and being drawn to the archway constantly, fists clenched as he saw no Sun shit arriving to fight. There was no going back against the deal they'd made. Akvan was avoiding him, and Shinda grew furious. So he made sure that his promise to Akvan, should the weakling resist coming here, was kept. Shinda summoned his endless pools of Oblivia, powers now mostly courtesy of his Sun child friend's soul, and picked at the right beings to effect. Akvan's friends in the Mun clan, Shinda made them aggravated enough to attack more, make themselves known as violent. He went to the pitiful group of Humans that had been brought together, made them also more on edge. All Shinda needed to do was give these people a nudge, and they were at each others throats. The destruction was incredible. Only a handful of deaths, but Shinda knew it would send the right message to his lying other half. And sure enough, Shinda watched into the living world, as Akvan went towards the archway. Rage returning from how long it had been, Shinda was soon to grab onto Akvan the moment he entered the dead realm.
A few hits and the Sun child was out of commission already, weaker than Shinda had expected considering how much time he gave him. Still clutching his throat, Shinda dragged Akvan with him, back over to Itami. His furious expression relaxed a little, and he held the toy up to Itami. "Got anything to say to this lying little shit?" Shinda asked Itami, glaring to her and then up to Akvan. He was nicely displayed for her to hurt him all she wanted, hopefully knowing Shinda wasn't keeping him alive anymore. After that was done, Shinda took a swing, and with enhanced strength, through Akvan right back, along the ground and slammed against a pillar of the archway. As Akvan stopped, Shinda rushed after him, jumping in the air only to land, claws slammed down into the Sun child's chest. Shinda's magic sent a nice current of pain through his bloodstream. Standing up and watching the toy's body smoke just a little, already barely holding consciousness, from Akvan's jacket, five little entities of light came out. They flew up into the air, and Shinda scoffed. "Nice little trinkets, Sun shit." Shinda commented, giving them little notice. Instead, Shinda glanced to the archway. The magic that covered it, usually only responding to Akvan when he went through, it seemed to bend for Shinda as well. The Devil put a hand out, still pulsing with magic, and watched with a held breath as it passed through, pushing against the magic preventing him from leaving, almost breaking it. Getting excited, Shinda chuckled, pushing further to feel the fresher air of the living world hit his hand. Could he get out? Shinda didn't think of trying to escape, but now with so much more power, perhaps he could get out of this eternity. "Oi, Itami... How much do you miss the living world?"

Smirking over to Akvan, knowing exactly why he took so long to return, having kept an eye on things, laughing as Chester and Tenshi, all of them lied to the little fucker about how much time he had, it was so bitter sweet. "Yeah, I do... How's it feel knowing your entire family lied to you huh? Must break your poor little heart." Smile turning predatory, Itami reached up with her clawed hand and reached in to his stomach, spilling his guts. She knew Shinda wasn't going to let him live this time around, but he would make the little shit suffer before letting him go. Standing back after that, content to just watch Akvan suffer, listen to the muffled screams of anguish, before eyes widened at the little colours that flew up, laughing at it. "Little coloured pebbles Akvan? Really?" Watching Shinda move to the archway, leaving Akvan alone, made Itami curious, knowing Shinda had no care to do such a thing, until he spoke once more, and Itami smirked with glee. "I love being here, but causing havoc on the living realm, being able to get my revenge on Chester? I wouldn't pass up such an opportunity." She knew that alone would let Shinda let her leave, knowing just what the bitch meant to his little toy, and Itami happily headed over to get a taste of fresh air once more.

Whose to say the God of Death was completely honest? Death was supposed to be the end of, everything. Cutting the Golden string wasn't just ending that life, but it was cutting ties with the living as well. From death onwards, you were only supposed to exist in the memories, and hearts of others. Those who thought there was something after death were right, but only so long as they remembered those who were gone. Onrah knew he'd die, he knew he was leaving his brothers to a world of hatred and pain, believing in them to stand tall and take everything they could get from life. Make themselves remembered, like Onrah had done. And he did trust them, but there was one thing remaining on Onrah's mind as he died. He'd accepted his own death, saying it was wrong to go against a person's destiny to die. And yet... he remembered how he'd broken the biggest rule of life once before. Onrah had abused his powers, when Akvan was destined to die young, he prevented him from doing so, throwing his younger brother's future fate into chaos, that Onrah knew would bring Akvan so much suffering. So he'd devised a plan, to hopefully make up for that selfish mistake he'd made, help his brother fight that awful future.
Like Onrah would really give out five coloured, magical skulls without some sort of trick infused into them. He was always full of surprises, even twenty years after his death. The moment he took action, was when he knew he was needed the most, when his little brother was at his lowest, abused beyond a point of holding any more hope. Those skulls Onrah had made followed Akvan right into Purgatory, and at the right moment, they flew up, together, colours getting brighter, until they formed a being. Coming back to life felt so strange, Onrah couldn't even recall the moment he'd died all that time ago until he felt the weight of this spiritual and ethereal body. Onrah was able to see again, and the first thing he saw was his dying brother, before looking up to Shinda and Itami. Yes, Onrah knew who they were, and he knew where they were, and every rule of this place. Death granted the knowledge those in life still searched to find. "I wouldn't try it." Onrah said, feeling a little giddy at hearing his own voice. He put his hands in his pockets, impressed with himself that he was hiding the excitement of having a physical, albeit ghostly, form once more. "The dead can't just walk back into the living." Onrah added, no doubt having their attentions now. "Well... unless you're like me and you cheat just a little bit, but let's just gloss over that for now." Onrah began marching forwards. "To the matter at hand, the reason I came here..." Onrah began, voice rising. He walked over to stand near Akvan, glancing down to his brother before going to speak to the two enemies, that was until he noticed something. "WAIT." Onrah said, before his head twisted to look down. "Akvan? Since when did you lose an eye?" Onrah asked, crouching down carefully, looking at the new scar before chuckling, "You look like... a thousand times more badass, you know that? I'm a little insulted you're not wearing an eye-patch though." Onrah began mumbling to his brother, almost forgetting the other two where there.

Itami would know that voice anywhere, and she was angry to say the least to hear it now. This was the Demon she killed, he was suppose to be dead, and yet here he was, mocking Itami with his life, cheating or not, he shouldn't have been powerful enough to do this. "Onrah... What a pleasure to see you again." Itami could feel the hatred on her tongue, the rumble of anger in the back of her throat, as she summoned her sins. Itami followed Onrah's gaze to Akvan, smirking slightly at the latters state, before using the moment to strike with all her sins while Onrah was distracted. They needed him gone as soon as possible, because if he was powerful enough to get here with Shinda, then this fight wasn't going to be an easy one, seeing how he slipped past Shinda too. "You know, we killed you once Onrah, it will be most pleasurable to do so again, make Akvan here feel that pain a second time... Oh how I cant wait..." Itami was looking forward to a second fight, even if her body was screaming how it was a terrible idea, but Shinda was around, so she didn't really need to worry...

There wasn't much reaction from Akvan, Onrah not all that offended. He knew what kind of horrors and pains his little brother had been put through, just breathing was enough for now. Smiling, Onrah very gently brushed Akvan's mop of pink hair. "You'll be fine, I'll make this job quick, even if I have waited twenty years to do so." Onrah mumbled. He went to stand up, before having a weak hand drop over his arm. "O...Onrah." Akvan muttered. Whilst glad to see Akvan's good eye settle on him, letting Onrah know that his brother would at least see him whilst he was still around, Onrah needed Akvan to rest. He put his hand over the trembling, weak one, carefully pushing it down against the wound. "You won't feel this kind of pain again, I promise... Not if I have anything to do about it." Onrah reassured, this time getting up quickly to avoid the attacks of the sins, pulling them back to follow him away from his brother. Realising he'd not said much, Onrah blinked quickly. "Oh, ah.. a pleasure to see you again too, Itami." Onrah replied, much more lightly than Itami with his tone. Now that he was a safe distance, Onrah gave the sins no notice, letting them go up and strike him. Onrah felt like wincing at what Itami seemed to think, sighing loudly. "Oh boy, Purgatory's really messed with you, hasn't it Itami? Well, let me just tell you, these little Sin friends can't do anything against me. They don't even exist, only being here because your spirit wills them to." Onrah stepped closer to her, feeling his two 'enemies' fear him with a amused smile. "And... I'm not going to let Akvan feel anymore pain, not because of me, or you, in fact." The Demon was completely ignoring Shinda, if he was honest with himself, but that little guy needed some talking to later, after Itami was noticed first. "You can leave, you know. Itami, you don't have to stay here anymore. Purgatory exists as a punishment, to those who deny themselves peace, deny death. You are only here from your own will to remain, that stubborn soul of yours just can't let go." Onrah waited for it to sink in, but he knew Itami wouldn't listen, her current expression obviously showed how she refused to see the beauty of letting go and dying. "You don't have to fear death, it's harmless, and you have a right to see it, no matter what you did to me, to anyone in the Living world. You only need to ask." Onrah added, before pursing his lips. He chuckled, "I know nothing I say will make you go, so I can only help you..." Onrah stated, lifting his hand up. Having an understanding of this place, Onrah had no need to fight against Purgatory, it was a very simple realm to control for someone who'd already passed through it. "Call it, Divine intervention, because I might be dead and rotting, but I still consider myself a God, a God of Death." Onrah added, before the hand he offered towards Itami sent light towards her body. The trick to leaving Purgatory may be hard, only available to those who truly understood what they wanted. But for someone like Onrah, enriched in life by his friends and beloved brothers, and then fulfilled and forgiving in death, it couldn't be an easier concept. He shared his knowledge with Itami in that moment, and her spirit, although incredibly reluctant, soon gave in. He showed her a light even the darkest of souls couldn't resist, and with a last flicker, Itami left. Onrah lowered his hand, taking a deep sigh. "I'll see you soon, sister." He muttered under his breath, before looking to the last two others here. Akvan had lowered his head, dropping into a forced sleep, and Shinda was just frozen, in a state of shock or confusion. Though, there was a rage still present on his face, a rage Onrah had once seen projected through the body of his younger brother when being controlled. "I... have some things for you as well, Shinda."

Shinda couldn't believe the familiar form before him. His current existence, or his words. Shinda was rather idle as Onrah spoke to Itami, listening to what the spirit had to say. And Shinda's rage boiled, everything he'd come to think of this world seemingly denied by what Onrah said. He loathed the spirit for his idea of Purgatory, even as spiritual and wise as he was, it seemed Onrah was just as naive as the rest. Tail flickering angrily behind him, Shinda growled at Onrah, going from a crouch to his full Demonic height and staring down the dead man. Shinda snarled, "And I have some things to tell you, ghost." Shinda spat, glaring at Onrah and demanding the Devil speak his mind first. "You say this place exists to punish me, because I denied myself peace or death?" Shinda began, voice rising with every word, "Well I've asked for death, from the moment I lost h.... from, the moment I became who I am, I've wanted to die. When the world almost found peace, I was ready to die, I was accepting. But, instead I came here. And for two thousand long years I've been asking myself what I did wrong. I've tried to apologise, I've tried to think of every means of getting out, but I can't." Shinda swallowed, refusing to let Onrah's spirit leave his raging gaze, nor let tears fall liked they'd done before.
"Where is my right to die, you fuck? Where is it?!" Shinda yelled, "Why don't you help me find it, huh? Like you did for that bitch?" Shinda demanded, beginning to march right up to the Demon. "What did I do that was so wrong? Why won't I be forgiven? Everything... everything I did, was for them." Shinda stated, thrusting a hand towards the still glowing archway. "I've wanted peace for two thousand years. But clearly, it doesn't want me."

Onrah needed to let Shinda speak, this might be the first time for the poor Demon that he got to vent his feelings to someone. But, Onrah couldn't deny that he didn't understand what kept Shinda anchored to this place. It went beyond the meaning of Purgatory for Shinda to be trapped here for so long. Even genocide or a life of committing horrors shouldn't result in an eternity alone like this. In a state of being dead, there shouldn't be anything left to confuse Onrah, or anything he didn't know the answer to, and yet he couldn't understand this situation. Which meant it was being caused by something even higher in spiritual status. The only thing stopping Shinda from having peace was a deity, and glancing up, Onrah took a guess at who exactly. Onrah sighed, finally being permitted to speak when Shinda broke from his ranting. "I'll be honest. I have no idea why you are still here, Shinda, I can only be sympathetic with you. However, I can't deny that you've done many wrongs, before and after coming here." Onrah replied. "Though it is true, all wrongs can be forgiven, even yours, but something is stopping them from being so. I don't know what, and I can't help you reach death either. Which is a little embarrassing on my part." Onrah added, scratching his head a little. "The only thing I can offer you, is advice, Shinda. You may not have fully been there, but you were still a part of my little brother, and therefore, you're also my brother too." Onrah paused, giving Shinda, who looked worse and worse with each word, a simple smile. "So I want to help you. I won't listen to whatever disastrous plan you have for the living world, what you believe is right or wrong, I'm only here to help you realise something." Onrah swallowed, slowly turning and walking back towards the archway, waiting for Shinda to follow. "There is one being out there that can help you. Help you discover why you're trapped here, what you really want and help you rediscover your true self. And they've been with you for twenty years, sharing your body and mind. And you've been abusing them for so long, never thinking once about asking them for help." Onrah stopped in front of the sleeping Akvan, looking at him with proud eyes as he continued. "They're the most loyal, forgiving and hopeful being in any world. And as of right now, they're the only one that will truly understand you, and the only one strong enough to help you... All you need to do Shinda, is ask them." Hoping Shinda was following his gaze, and getting his meaning, Onrah turned to look to the poor Demon. "You say you've wanted nothing but peace, and I'll understand that perhaps it's hard to picture such a thing after so long, but can you honestly say that this," Onrah gestured to Akvan, "before you, is your idea of peace?" Onrah let the question hover, before getting down to the real business. "I can't save you myself, but I can promise you that my brother can do that job for me. You just need to let him recover, and let him hear your story. Even if you don't believe me, there's no harm in trying, is there?"

Shinda remained silent as Onrah spoke, beginning to see what was so special about this simple Demon. Why Akvan seemed to idolise him so much when the two shared bodies. Because he seemed so calm about everything, and so helpful. For once, Shinda felt... comforted, by what Onrah said. And Shinda hadn't felt comfort in a long time, so long that it felt foreign to his body, made him shiver a little, lowering his form to a more feral one as he listened and thought. He followed Onrah's gaze to the point he was trying to make, to the one living Sun child that Shinda just so happened to title as his living toy. Something to let Shinda's anger out on. An anger that only existed because he was stuck here, which apparently was an issue the one he tortured could help him solve. If only Shinda asked. Now, that was something the Demon never thought he'd done before. He'd never asked, only expected things from others, their obedience, their forgiveness or trust. He never questioned enough, and Onrah made a good point of that. "Try... you want me to try. Not like I've never tried before." Shinda growled, before sighing. His voice was much quieter, it seemed without the Devil even knowing, he'd begun to tear up, and his throat had tightened. Clearing it, Shinda glanced to Akvan, then up to Onrah. "Well... it's not like I'm going anywhere..." Shinda added, before gesturing with his hand. "You can take the Sun shit out. And tell him when he wakes up to... return when he's ready."
