Hisan has mainly stayed out of the war that was raging on, he cared not for the reasons to fight, all he knew was that he was swimming in power over all the hate being tossed around... He knew a few other demons felt the same, Mujihi for example, with the pain everyone was feeling. But after months of staying away from it all, something felt off, like there was no pestering idiot around to annoy him, no arguing about the fact he hated everything, no pranks, no teams against him with Catulus... None of it, and as much as he hated all that, Hisan missed it, for some bizarre and unknown reason. He knew where to find the missing piece, Sora having given those answers after a bit of digging. But he both did and didn't want to go, knowing what he would find, as well as how things would go... He wouldn't get that missing piece back, no matter what he tried, Catulus had cried himself out already, Hisan having kept his dear friend in a safe home during the war, even if said safe home was an abandoned building somewhere random that just screamed death and coldness. So he knew that while his dear friend would be upset with how things needed to end, he wouldn't cry... His missing piece wouldn't want that anyways. Taking a stand, Hisan quickly flew to Sora, not caring for anything the mere humans would try to do... he had no fear for their hatred of him, it only fuelled his power, and those who tried, were not alive to warn the others. Landing in the middle of the streets, it was only a matter of time before the Kyuban showed himself, it was a battle he was both dreading, and anticipating.

Ikiru had reached a true form of Kyuban. This town had been sucked dry, those who remained did so only by remaining indoors, or being lucky enough to miss the monster's constant hunting. But despite his food supply getting lower, Ikiru had already grown so much stronger. He had talons rather than sharp claws, his once white Angel wings had lost their feathers, turning into blood red skeletal wings that would belong better to a Demon than Angel. His ears grew pointed, eyes completely red and glowing, and teeth sharp and no longer hidden behind his lips. There were only a few features of the old being left, the tattered clothing and light blonde hair. But if someone was to look his way, it would take a while before they found Ikiru hiding in the master Kyuban he'd grown to become now. Sora was so quiet, and Ikiru found that it was becoming an issue. No one dared to live here, or pass through the floating town anymore, as Ikiru had claimed it. Streets remained crimson with blood from his previous hunts, no one left to clean up after the active monster. So with little to hunt, the Kyuban had little to do. But his senses were ever alert, a gut feeling that soon, at least one soul would come to him. And that day finally came, whilst the real Ikiru had no recollection of the request he'd made, picking up the scent of this particular soul made the Kyuban feel different. If anything, he was more determined to find it's source, there would be no hunting in the dark and sneaking up. Ikiru turned from where he stood and rushed through the dead streets, meeting the intruder head on. The Kyuban began a low growl, looking the Demon up and down. "I... do not know you." The Kyuban said, evolved to the point of being able to master speech, only able to use it to seduce prey, however. "You have come here, and you will die now."

Hisan saw the arrival of Ikiru long before he heard him. Looking at his old 'friend' if the shell of a man he once new could be called that, Hisan knew it was too late to save him, or even try for that matter. Looking the other up and down, Hisan's gaze hardened, before he drew his weapon in defence, looking up into the barren eyes and keeping the gaze. "And I don't not know you. I know the man whose body you have possessed." Hisan refused to believe that this monster was Ikiru, as he ran forward for the first hit. His friend was not someone who killed for fun, he did so much to hold this back, and now that the monster was free, Hisan would keep his promise, no matter how much it killed him on the inside to do. "I'm sorry Ikiru, but I wont be the one dying." Hisan didn't want to do this, but he promised, and he wouldn't break that promise now. He's killed plenty of Kyuban's who think they could take him on, none had lived to tell the tale so far, Ikiru.... This creature wouldn't be the first, no matter who body it wore.

It was hard to recall memories of the non-Kyuban part of himself. Ikiru knew that if he could, it would give him an advantage over this Demon. For he knew the Demon was tough, feasting off hate like he feasted on souls. So the battle would be rather even. But a Kyuban knew no hesitation, Ikiru wouldn't back down, that hunger remained impossible to argue with. He continued to try and remember something about this Demon, who claimed he knew the one Ikiru once was, before he became pure, and strong. So Ikiru took that into account, trying to recall this annoying Demon whilst preparing to fight. The Demon made the first move, but it was easily observed by Ikiru's fast senses. He jumped back, landing gracefully on a rooftop, fangs shown as he grinned down to the little Demon. "Oh but you will.... Hissy." Ikiru replied, pleased to recall on thing about the Demon, his name. The Kyuban hoped he'd surprised the Demon enough to catch him off guard, weaving from the rooftop down and around Hisan to attack his side, get a good grip into his flesh to begin taking that soul of his.

Hisan came here expecting the worst, so was prepared for any surprises, be it emotional or physical that this Kyuban might try to give. The name was a nice try, but wasn't going to be enough to take him out, so blocking off the first attack was of no trouble, even if he knew soon enough the Kyuban wouldn't be playing as fair. Sending a couple of swipes at him, Hisan refused to hold back his attacks. He made a promise, one he is planning to keep, no matter how much pain he feels inside, though he would never admit such a think out loud, even to himself. Watching the form carefully, Hisan got prepared for another attack, he knew most Kyuban's were the most open when in the mist of their own attack, though Ikiru was a little smarter then the others, he hope the simplicity of such events was the same. "Don't think you'll get to me, I'm prepared for anything you throw my way."

A Kyuban's ferocious speed could be used against them. If one could sense their movements and point a weapon in the direction of their strike, a Kyuban might just walk into it and get injured. That was the case for an average Kyuban, a monster of new blood that didn't know tactics, only murder. Ikiru had been in many fight with those of Sora that weren't so willing to give up their souls, and he'd learnt from previous mistakes in those fights. He'd adapted, still fast and agile, but with reflexes just as quick. He was surprised that this Demon was phased by the strike, though perhaps the answer was in Ikiru's memories, long lost to the monster now in his body. Still, he got an idea that this fight wouldn't be won with mind tricks, but by simply tearing apart this strong Demon. Ikiru still had his magic, the gift of Life was no longer available, for someone who took souls rather than granting them, but the Kyuban could still use an Angel's natural ability in simple light magic. He deftly dodged the two sword strikes, backing up a little to hold up one clawed hand. A flicker of light appeared in it, which soon expanded into a significantly blinding flash of light. Once the light flashed, Ikiru tried his attack once more, darting to Hisan's side to get a kick at his abdomen.

6Hisan wished he paid more mind to what was happening as he was blinded, the kick to his side hurting more then he wished to admit, but that's not what he meant right now. What he's talking about, is the first thing he saw as sight returned to his person. The crimson red bright against the others clothing, and the flash of half his sword prodding from the other side of his friend. A clean cut right through his stomach, one Hisan never realise he made as his sword ripped forward as she struck blinded, somehow doing exactly what he promised to do, but against Hisan's actual wishes. He could see Ikiru return in his eyes, the eyes of the killer... The Kyuban disappearing, and the man he loved taking his place. The weight of what he just did laying heavy on his hateful heart. "Ikiru? Oh gods, what have I done?" Hisan helped both the floor, not daring to remove his weapon in case it made things worse, as he cradled Ikiru to his chest, fighting of the tears. Oh how he hated feeling like this. Be it because he was feeling it, or the reason why. Anyone asks it was the former, but he knew deep down how it was the latter. "I'm so sorry."

The moment the sword hit, it knocked the wind, and the dark urged right out of Ikiru. There was nothing special about the sword, no enchantment that drove away the evil of a Kyuban. It was just Ikiru finally breaking free, the weakened state of his body opened the doors wide for him to regain control. And all his own blood dripped down his stained shirt, Ikiru recalled everything very quickly. He was fighting Hisan, after losing himself to a monstrous poison, murdering so many. Ikiru remembered the years spent, after mercilessly killing, how deep down he begged to be freed. His red eyes returned to their natural blue, and Ikiru blinked a few time, gasping for air which at this point, with a sword impaling him, was an impossible request. He looked up to Hisan, as both dropped to the floor, trying to smile weakly. "Are.... are those tears I see?" Ikiru asked, his voice weak, but at last it carried that usual teasing tone Ikiru used to have. "Oh Hissy... I always knew you... were a softie." Ikiru muttered, lifting a hand to weakly pinch at Hisan's cheek. Feeling the last of his humour energy leave, Ikiru's brows wavered, the pain flowing around his body, and the corners of his vision turning a little dark. "Hisan... thank you. You don't need to... be sorry... for anything." Ikiru said, coughing a little. "After... after all, you freed me... like I asked... so thank you. I can die... as myself... and I've always wanted to.. die in the hands of the one I love." Ikiru added, using the last of his effort to smile. "Don't... act like it w..wasn't obvious.. Hissy. I a...always loved my s..stubborn and grumpy... Demon." The Angel muttered, feeling like a weight was off of his chest, knowing he'd said such a thing to Hisan at last, no matter how obvious it was beforehand. Funny, just as Ikiru took his last, pointless breath, he wondered if he'd see Dove up there, waiting for her little brother as usual. He hoped so, there was a lot of news Ikiru wanted to share with his sister. He thought of everyone living, Kaku and all of his new family, just hoping they'd sort things out and be alright without the light-hearted Angel around. And Ikiru sure hoped Hisan would be alright, even if he didn't change, Ikiru just prayed that Hisan and little Catulus would be alright, the first moment Ikiru met the pair being the last memory embedded into his fading mind before he stopped breathing.

Hisan looked to Ikiru giving him a small weak smile, one that was true. "I don't know what your talking about." Hisan gave a light chuckle, he would show his weakness in these last moments, Ikiru having spent years trying to see it, and he being too stubborn to show it. "Tell anyone, and I'll have to kill you." This was normal, this was right, the teasing, the humour, what made them... Well them. It was right, and it was being taken from him. Letting the tears fall at Ikiru's declaration, Hisan let his lips quiver as he fought to say it back, but couldn't find his voice. Instead, he did the only other thing he could think of. Bringing Ikiru closer to him, Hisan's last moments he shared with Ikiru breathing was the long awaited kiss, the one he should have gave when they had time to act upon it... Not as a goodbye. And as Ikiru's last breaths were taken from him, Hisan moved back, whispering those words he always vowed never to say. "I love you too." Hisan knew that while Ikiru knew what he said, the other was already too far gone to hear it, and that's what hurt the most. That's what he hated the most. Grabbing hold of the body, taking out the sword and sheathing it. Hisan took a breath and headed for what was left of Shiro. He wasn't just going to leave the body, and he damn well was going to bury as close to where his sisters gave might have been up there. Consequences be damned, and once he gave his love a proper burial, Hisan was coming back down here and killing every human and Kyuban that got in his way to help end all of this.
