Notes: Based just out in the desert lands near Yume's house.
Gensho was struggling to remember a lot of things right now. All of the current affairs were being played on repeat in his head, to make sure the Demon wouldn't forget them. Humans had announced war, they'd finally bitten back and where prepared to make every world their own and refused to share. They'd taken Onrah's dream, and smashed it into pieces. His hard work, and Gensho's work as well, all destroyed now. That was one tip of the fragile iceberg. Akvan had returned, after a month of being lost, only to explain his own dire situation. Unless they wanted Shinda to worsen the situation, Gensho's brother needed to continue to go and fight the Devil, for months at a time, maybe more. The little time Akvan had been back, Gensho hadn't met him, he'd been elsewhere, like he was now. News of his brother had only reached Gensho when he came back to Nanari's, exhaustion on his face. After learning the dampening news, Gensho had moved on again, leaving too early to receive any help for... whatever was even wrong with him. Gensho felt like he knew, if Shinda was involved, then Gensho knew what was troubling him right now. Beyond the God's world being flipped around, and all of his hopes in life being taken and abused in front of him, he knew that his pain right now was all due to what happened to him that night in the mountains. When Shinda had struck him with some dark magic, which turned Gensho into something called a Kyuban. Gensho had always assumed he was only partly Kyuban, having no controlling hunger like the other monsters. But, perhaps his evil blood was merely dormant, waiting until it's creator asked it to awaken to finally take control of Gensho. And since the attack on Aura, Gensho had been feeling ill, like all of a sudden, he was dying of hunger and exhaustion, with only one cure. When Gensho remembered the cure, he decided to make himself distant from everyone, for their safety. So he'd wandered around the more desolate parts of Sohul, continuously pacing as his mind melted. Numerous times already Gensho had hallucinated, seeing trees or mounds of rock or sand as living beings, and attempted to strike them down to take their souls, waking up moments later feeling sick of himself and that hideous and uncontrollable desire shaping him. Gensho didn't know if there was any way of preventing this change, he doubted during times like this, there would be anyone to help stop him or help Gensho recover. So he assumed, staying alone, and on the move, was the only way right now to keep others safe.

Yume had mixed feelings about this war. She loved that she got the chance to fight and kill, with no one berating her for it... Death was always expected when it came to such matters. But that didn't mean she loved how her kind were taken out, even if she didn't care for them, confusing she knows, but that's the way she worked... Getting to beat some pansy little human fuckers in the ground though was definitely worth it, especially those who think they can mess with her. It was also fun being able to boss around others for a change, as self directed leader of the army, because everyone knows that Kaku will only think of revenge right now, rather then the safety of others, Nanari being proof of that. And the dear Demon King wouldn't be much better, having to look after the idiot she had the pleasure of calling her ruler. So in all, not bad for her, despite how bad it was for others. She was currently on her way home after a forced meeting about their tactics, and the retrieval of the Kings kids. That wouldn't be an easy task, she tried it alone and they had heavily protected the place, and they didn't know where the kids were being kept... That information she would need to force out of the Saints, Hino and Jasper two good candidates, blackmail could be used for their co-operation, though, if the got a hold of the bastard Marzzi.... Then she would have some fun. But that was plans for another day, now it was time to rest with a good book and an open fire in the comfort of her home, because damn she wasn't giving up her little shack for the world. She never expected to come across Gensho though, her 'friend', who hadn't been seen all that much recently. She was tempted to ignore his presence entirely, but against her judgement, Yume gave a groan and communicated with him, only fair. "OI. FUCK TARD, WHAT YOU DOING HERE?" Never said she was going to be nice...

Gensho wasn't even sure he knew where he was. Focusing his mind on remembering everything else meant Gensho really was wandering aimlessly. This land was dry, and incredibly low on any kind of life. Which was good for Gensho, it made it harder for him to be distracted, desperately chasing anything with a life source to try and consume it. Now he could really focus on being alone. The Demon sighed, throat parched of everything. He flinched when his stomach flared in pain again, as it did every hour or so. His body was refusing what Gensho's mind had decided on. It craved a release from this pain, and for an end to the hunger. Two things Gensho wasn't willing to give it. Or, he at least try to resist. Gensho knew the moment he spotted someone, he didn't know if he'd be able to stop himself from going after them. Which was why he hoped these quiet lands would at least be void of people. The Demon was so far gone and exhausted to realise one person who would probably be around here. When Gensho did, it was the last sane thought he had before he caught the smell of a soul nearby. Then a voice broke the silence of the desert, and Gensho's head darted round to stare towards the source. Gensho's eye were usually red, but right now they were even more defined, almost glowing next to his sickly pale skin and dark rings around his eyes. He stared longingly towards the lone soul, unable to even struggle again his urge. "For.. forgive me, but... you are food." Gensho growled, his voice so much like his usual one, yet contained no essence of the real Gensho, other than his polite ways of speech. He didn't say more, clawed hands twitching as Gensho continued to stare. Next thing, the awakened Kyuban was one the move, slower than others of his kind from his weakness, but still determined to run and take down the soul before him.

Yume just raised an eye brow when looking at Gensho, realising that he wasn't exactly himself right now. He wouldn't be the first like this she had fought against, fast, but pretty easy creatures to defeat if you asked her... Their creator must be terrible at what he does for that to happen. Giving a slight smirk as Gensho rushed towards her, she knew this would be so much easier then the others due to his speed. Stretching out her arm and giving a board fake yawn, Yume punched him in the stomach before bashing the back of his head with her elbow, leaving him unconscious. Looking down to him, Yume shook her head and sighed, the temptation to leave him here was overwhelming, but she grabbed both his legs and began to drag him face down to her house, luckily it was only a estimate of a ten minute walk away. It was easy, light as a feather, not she would admit that out loud. Kicking open her door, Yume dumped him on his usual seat, before getting a glass of cold water and throwing it over her impromptu house guest, effectively awakening him from his slumber. Kneeling next to him, Yume took his face into her arms and gave him a long sinister glare. "EVER call me food again, and I will personally make sure to cook a meal made from your very own meat for you to feast on..." Shoving his face away, Yume went and sat on the seat opposite him, folding her arms and looking at him like she expected an explanation for everything.

The crushing fist hitting Gensho's stomach felt like the worst pain so far. It hit a weak area, and the Kyuban was instantly weakened by it. The sudden pain brought Gensho's sanity back, but it was only for a confusing second before something hit his head, and the Demon blacked out. He went limp, feeling nothing at all until there was a cold rush of water splashing against Gensho's face. He coughed awake, eyes wide and terrified as Gensho suddenly woke up properly. Not hallucinating or going crazy anymore, but actually thinking properly. He looked around quickly, but before he could gather where he was, Yume trapped his head in a tight grip, and threatened Gensho. "Yume! What? F... food?" Gensho questioned, before the Angel shoved him away, for the Demon to shake his head and try and gather his thoughts. They were all as easy to grasp at as rushing water at this point. To be honest, Gensho couldn't even remember coming to the desert area around Yume's house. Not properly. He frowned, "I... I called you food? Yume, I'm so sorry... It's just." Gensho paused. He knew now why he'd called her something like that, the pain in his stomach made him remember. Gensho sighed, "Since the start of... everything going on now, I've been feeling different. Those small urges I had before are now uncontrollable. I tried to keep away from everyone to stop myself, but it's only getting worse... I didn't even know where I was going. I suppose that's what brought me near here." Gensho stated, telling himself half of the stuff to make sure he remembered. There were other things Gensho needed to recall as well, that he was having trouble thinking of. "We're... at war, right?"

Yume was right in thinking he was one of those creatures then, not too bothersome for her anyways, she would just get the pleasure of having a reason to hit him multiple time in the foreseeable future. Though she knew dealing with the idiotic loving fucking 'gentleman' each time he came back around would be at the bottom of her list, because at the end of the day Gensho was still Gensho. Rolling her eyes at his explanation, Yume sent him a glare before getting up and making herself some tea, she would need it to help keep calm as she explained things, and for something to do so that she didn't hit him again. "Your hungry and refusing to eat, course its going to fucking hurt, your starving yourself... But eating peoples souls is probably a bad thing to do, well according to others, to me it sounds bloody tasty so if you find the right ones, only those with a thirst for mischief I say... Pick me up some next time you go on a spree though... Otherwise it looks like your just going to have to stay here until we can work out a way to help, if you really are against it." She didn't show him her face as she said that, beside the light chuckle at her half joke (because in reality, souls did sound pretty tasty), or give him time to process it before continuing, dropping his usual beverage next to him as she made herself comfortable once more. "Damn right were at war. Damned Humans announced it before expected. Probably Kaku's doing, the fucking, shitty king. I'm in charge of the Army though, Oh how I love bashing those pitiful fucking human heads into the ground... And setting them on fire. It been a while since I've had permission to let loose, well, a legitimate reason to do so."

Gensho frowned as Yume replied. He was almost inclined to find her response rather cruel, but then realised who he was talking to, and smiled weakly. It was so like Yume to say such things, Gensho reminded himself that he was used to her 'ways' now, even if they were rather harsh to the Gentleman's ears. She gave him two options, either kill to remove the pain or continue to hide here and suffer, and at least not hurt anyone. Gensho shook his head, "I've never... killed before. It's not something I'd like to do, no matter the circumstances." Gensho replied, before chuckling bitterly, "Besides, you've seen how much control I have. I couldn't pick out evil souls from... innocent ones, even if I really tried." Gensho added, thinking on his options, before frowning a little as he recalled one of Yume's suggestions in a little bit more detail. "You'd really let me stay here?" He asked carefully, a slightly stronger smile on the Demon God's face. He looked down to the cup of tea, slowly going to pick it up. Gensho's stomach pulled as he moved, and no doubt it wouldn't be pleased with tea as an alternative to souls. But, Gensho was dying for a drink amongst other things, so he didn't hesitate to drink it. "Thank you." He muttered as a polite instinct, before listening to Yume's description of the war. Gensho nodded, it sounded about right by what his memory could find, and he smiled a little. "I never wanted something like this to happen... but, I suppose it was inevitable. And, you must be in your element, Yume, if I am allowed to say?"

Yume clenched her fists and gave a harsh sigh when Gensho questioned it. He should know by now that when she said something like that, she meant it, and didn't like to repeat herself... "You and I know both know I wouldn't say something like that as a joke, I have a couch, and enough tea to last a lifetime." It was all she was willing to say on the matter, all she was going to say to anyone about it, she didn't want people thinking she cared, though she didn't of course, but innocent little fucking minds came up with their own conclusions nowadays. Downing her tea, Yume hated how it didn't help, and she would have to keep a check on her actions from here on out, though, that was a little easier around Gensho, knowing he could take quite a bit of her actions. Smirking slightly, Yume looked to Gensho with amusement, and an idea in her mind. "DAMN RIGHT! And no shitty fucker can say a goddamned thing about it. Kaku will do shit for keeping people alive, and at least I'm not afraid to kill, hell, even I know whom is innocent in this war, and leave them the fuck alone... Perfect, I got to play both good guy and bad guy in this situation." Leaning forward, Yume gave Gensho a predatory smile. "You know. This hunger issue can be easily solved. I keep you on a tight leash on outings, those I kill, you can have their soul, and wont need to feel the guilt of murdering them. I get to boss you around for fun, and have more of a reason to kill." It was the perfect solution, and Yume could really reap the benefits.

Having Gensho around wasn't something the Demon expected Yume to be alright with. Especially considering his current state, even if Yume could defend herself from Gensho's attacks, it must just add to the pile of things that annoyed her. It was little scary for Gensho to even agree, since it meant he'd have no way out of Yume's... temperament. But, he couldn't just refuse such a kind offer, so the Demon smiled a little. "Then... thank you, for the kind offer." Gensho replied, taking another sip of the tea, controlling his un-Gentlemanly urge to drink it all down. Gensho continued to politely smile as Yume described what she enjoyed about the war, the God knowing by now not to judge how his friend viewed the world. He simply half-listened, nodding his head a little, trying not to let the concept of this war bring him down. Then Yume talked about Gensho's issue, and the Demon stared towards her for a moment, thinking on it. His gaze moved away, "So... they'd already be near death by the time I took their soul... so, in a way, I'd be showing them mercy." Gensho stated, somewhat to himself. He sighed, "The idea of taking souls still makes me feel horrid, but... I don't want to stay away from everyone I care about forever." He added, before looking to Yume with resolve. "Thank you Yume, I'll take the offer... though... you were being, metaphorically about the 'tight leash', right?" Gensho asked, getting a bit of his jest back, but also knowing Yume was usually deadly serious about things.

Yume knew Gensho was a little weary of the offer, she didn't blame him... Nor would have been offended if he refused, it was all the same to her. But deep, deep, deep down, she knew the company would also be appreciated, not that she would EVER admit such a thing out loud, or show it for that matter. Giving a sinister laugh, Yume just gave Gensho a look before getting up and walking over to a chest she had in the corner, rummaging through until she found what she needed. Walking back over, Yume threw the leash at him with a chuckle. "Tenshi tried giving me a dog to look after once, thought I was lonely, the Bitch... Big buff, heavy duty dog that required a strong leash. Think I'm joking now?" Yume wouldn't, unless it was needed, but it was fun making Gensho fear it, besides, where would the fun be in helping if she cant get a laugh out of it, she didn't want people thinking she was going soft now. "But yeah, the fuckers would be mostly dead by the time you get to them, its either put them out their misery and take their soul, or let them die a slow and painful death. I don't mind either, and whatever keeps you asleep at night." More like anything to stop him from whining and moping by himself, because she would end up being blamed for it.

Gensho tried laughing along side Yume, until her's turned sinister, and with that look she gave him, Gensho knew what was coming. He caught the leash in his hand, looking down at it with a pale face and dropped expression. Gensho looked at it a little, comforted at least by the reason Yume owned it in the first place, before resting it on the side of his chair, trying then to ignore it being there. Gensho chuckled a little lighter when Yume finished. "No, I never should think you are, for my own safety." Gensho commented quietly, getting used to talking around Yume, and what best to say to please her, and decrease the chances of Gensho being pranked or hurt. The Kyuban did feel comfortable with the idea of helping others by killing them, better that then let their last moments after fighting someone like Yume be their end. He nodded, knowing he could agree to the terms. All he could hope for now that be pleasing his urge to eat souls, the Kyuban blood would calm down, and not just fester and get worse. Gensho didn't want to let the monster win, and he didn't dare think of where it could take him. The God thought back to that nightmare Yume accidentally made him see, the souls Gensho had taken, children, and his brother. Gensho shook the thought away, before clenching his stomach. It was staring to protest again, and Gensho felt his heart-rate quicken when the evil blood began to stir. He tried simply ignoring it, taking deeper breaths and trying to relax. "There must be... others like me. What kind of nightmares are they committing right now?" Gensho mumbled to himself, trying to shake his urges aside. He looked over to Yume. "Who... who would our first... target be?" He asked her, knowing he was under Yume's command, and control now. She would pick the targets, and Gensho would finish the job, but it didn't mean the God couldn't be curious as to who was being taken down.

Yume gave a laugh before watching Gensho carefully... For once. She could see his thoughts turn morbid over all this, and as much as she would love to watch him suffer with it for her won enjoyment... She wasn't getting as much satisfaction as she thought. "Don't start getting morbid thoughts fuck-tard. We might actually start getting along." Might as well thrown some jokes in, and cheer him up a little, otherwise she would throw him to the curb from the annoyance of dealing with him. Well, she wouldn't, but that didn't mean she wouldn't want to. Badly. And he was right, there were many others like him, ones who didn't even know themselves anymore, Yume had taken out a couple already. "Killing spree's, hunger attacks. Your holding out surprisingly well to the others I've killed." Now his second question was a little harder to answer, as she didn't know yet. Yume was actually taking her job seriously and only taking out those who needed it at the moment, while planning the retrieval of these kids and how to kill Marzzi. "I don't know, probably a Saint if they get in our way, or a Council member. Currently getting Intel on someone working as a healer for the Humans, so whoever we find knows information and wont share it..." At least it wasn't some random Human, so Gensho could rest easy.

Gensho quickly tried to smile, seeing how Yume was trying to joke. "Sorry... I'm sure it will be fine once this... hunger goes away." He commented, relaxing back a bit more. Gensho had met other Kyuban's, of course that had been back when he didn't consider himself as a full one. He always pitied them, but now it was even more so. Gensho just hoped there were some of his kind out there that were fighting the urges, or else they were just making the situations worse for everyone. "I dread becoming something so savage and... unclean, perhaps that's where my control lies." Gensho replied, keeping the lighter atmosphere. Gensho didn't know how to feel about taking out the council. Hardly anyone holding a position there were the ones Gensho once knew on friendly terms. But, there were still some faces amongst them that he knew deep down had good hearts. Taking out the nobles, might be a little harder. Taking down Saints, however, sounded much easier to Gensho's usually passive ears. He nodded a little to Yume's information, thinking on it himself. "The Saints are just getting stronger and stronger, who knows how many members they have now."

Yume gave a light scoff and leant back on her seat. "Well, looks like I have to get use to it. Because until we find who's the maker of these creatures. The hunger wont go away... Hey, plus side, I might not have killed you by then." Yume gave a mock smile before dropping it and going back to her usual un-amused self. But hearing why he believes he has so much control made Yume want to barf, it was far too like the 'Gentleman' she has come to know. "I met a couple of these creatures that have actually come up with a clean method... If only because it makes everything easier and more nourishing is another matter... Oh how I wish to find out." Yume would love to see what a Soul tastes like, hell knows most Kyuban's wouldn't be able to explain... Maybe Gensho could when the time comes. Yume gave Gensho a look at the idea of taking down a Saint... Taking as permission to go after them. "Saint it is then first, we can work on the Nobles later, when duty calls for it... Because half the time, you wont get a choice on who we go after." Moving forward in her chair though, Yume did have something to ask of Gensho. "I have a proposition for you. Marzzi, I want his blood on my hands... I'm the one to kill him, and when the time comes, I wont be there to babysit you from yourself. I need you to learn control out in the field, I get you food without you having to kill, and you protect my back when I get my fight." Yume wasn't giving him a choice.

Gensho frowned, that's right, no one else knew the creator of Kyubans, the one they supposedly killed for. "It's Shinda... he used to be my brother's split-personality, and it was during that time he infected me. I suppose I was made the first Kyuban, though I hope that doesn't mean anything." Gensho replied. He hoped the hunger would at least calm down, because if Kyubans were only cured by removing Shinda, then it looked like Gensho would have to put up with his poisoned blood for a long time, and Yume would too. The Demon shook his head lightly, wondering how Yume could find interest in tasting souls. His smile quivered, as he thought of a response that he didn't like thinking of. He could remember the taste of souls from his nightmare, if of course that taste was even accurate. And the taste was impossible to describe, but incredibly addictive. Gensho was glad Yume was happy to attack a Saint first, hopefully they wouldn't have to strike the council at any point. But, as Yume put it, Gensho didn't get a choice. He listened in, watching Yume carefully when she leaned closer in. Gensho frowned. "I recall Marzzi, he was the Saint you'd tricked during the nightmares, which resulted in him getting scarred, correct?" Gensho asked, placing a hand to his lips. "He's out for your blood, as much as you are for his. I could protest, but the fight between you both is inevitable." He commented. Gensho knew he didn't have a choice, it was either control himself, or have Yume put him down if he went crazy. Even so, he nodded, "I will learn to control it. It's my best intention to keep you safe, Yume, as well as... fix myself."
