Note: This takes place in 2343, 7 years before Destiny started. Onrah is in his first year as a Demon God.
Surprises were still easy to find, even for an 18 year old Demon. Onrah never expected that he'd receive such recognition from Mo, for the Demon didn't think he'd done anything that amazing. But apparently, Onrah was a legend for his age, known as a kind Demon capable of many things. He was given the highest God status of all, Demon God of Death. It was what Onrah controlled, that allowed Angels and Demons to continue living. And to be honest, Onrah had been terrified. It was painful, not pleasurable, to receive the powers. As much as Onrah tried to act as if he appreciated the gift, it came with costs. Everywhere he went, Onrah could see strange words float around others, and it caused his eyes so much pain. Not to mention that Onrah didn't exactly get a warm welcome. God of Death, basically the one person to blame for all of Human's troubles. They all called Onrah a monster, and he could see why. Death, it hurt people a lot. Onrah continued, only knowing how all of this was for the sake of protecting his kind and the Angels. They needed Onrah to do this, and the Demon God felt a lot of faith on his shoulders. A faith, Onrah didn't think he deserved. He still didn't get it, a year after receiving this job, why Mo chose him. Why did the Demon King choose one random Demon, who'd only gone around doing simple things to make others happy. He was no Demon knight or warrior, just a simple, freakishly tall guy who could apparently handle the massive weight this job put on his shoulders. It was just so stressful, and Onrah didn't know how many more years he could handle. His friend Dove was the only thing making life bearable, almost literally. The Guardian of Life was kind, and she'd taught Onrah just what the balance of life and death meant, and how the Demon God shouldn't put himself down so much.
But Onrah doubted his worth, something he did a lot of the time. He strolled around Minato, glad to have this town at least. Even though not many knew what the God of Death looked like, even if they did, the people of Minato didn't go around attacking Demons very often. It was a safe town for Demons to travel through. Onrah's boots kicked through the muddy streets, keeping eye contact with no one so that he didn't see the painful words above them. He'd continue to pace around, only moving towards the strongest senses of death when he was needed. Today was awfully quiet in consideration of work, and Onrah was glad. It gave him time to wander around on his own for a bit. The Demon was tempted to go and fly, but he preferred walking around, it took longer. He took a turn towards an alleyway, knowing the route he planned to take and taking the allies for their peacefulness. They were normally peaceful, though perhaps sometimes they could bring some unwanted attention to the dark coated Demon. Like today for instance, which just so happened to be a very fateful day. "Hey! Hey mister! Are you the God of Death?"

"G-gensho, no!" Akvan tried to call to his brother, clutching onto Gensho's little red cape and pulling it. Gensho easily overpowered Akvan's strength, continuing to veer around the corner of the building. After losing his grip and falling back, the young boy splashing down into the mud. The sense of clothing in danger finally got Gensho to move from the wall, turning to look at Akvan on the ground. "Why not?" Gensho asked, helping Akvan up, with a grin on his face. "It's not often you find the elusive God of Death, Akvan. Who knows what he might be able to tell us!" Gensho added, giggling in excitement, whilst also straightening Akvan's clothes. He'd ignore the mud on them, for now. Akvan looked around a little, feeling nervous in a town like this, even if it did accept Demons. Akvan was always following Gensho, who loved to spend time down in Sohul. The white-haired boy tried not to complain, just wanting to stay close to his twin and away from anything else, too afraid to face the world alone yet. Gensho loved it in Sohul though, especially places like Minato, where he could make a lot of friends. Minato was good in that sense, if full of other dangers and even sickness.
Gensho peered around the corner again, gasping quietly. "Darn it Akvan! He's moved!" Gensho commented, looking a little frustrated. Akvan peer from behind his brother, before pointing towards the end of a long, dark coat. "No th-there! Look, he just went into the alleyway!" Akvan stated, not sure why he was helping in this stalking game of his brothers, but unable to help but point the God of Death out for his hopeful brother. Gensho chuckled, moving around to sieve through the crowd. Akvan soon followed, a little hesitant to swim through the sea of people. "... Gensho this w-wrong. We're... we're just stalking." Akvan tried to convince his brother again. "It isn't stalking, it's following." Gensho replied, taking a hold of Akvan's hand to drag him with him into a jog towards the right alleyway. There down it was the towering shadow of the great God of Death. The one so many this year had spoke of with high praise. He was said to be a hope for Demon kind, for them to finally be accepted by others for what they were, but in a positive way for once. Gensho dashed down the small path, Akvan unable to keep up, and stopping to hide behind some rubbish when Gensho called to the Demon God. "Hey! Hey mister! Are you the God of Death?" Gensho asked, unable to hold in his excitement. Though, remembering his manners, Gensho bowed a little to Onrah. "Mister, I'd like to say it's an honour to meet you. Me... and my brother over here," Gensho grabbed a hold of Akvan's collar to force him out of hiding, "are big fans, we've heard all about the nice things you've done for all kinds of people!" Akvan tried to keep his head down, nervous to look up. But even he couldn't deny how excited he felt to be standing before someone like the God of Death. So even Akvan's shaky voice spoke up. "L-lots of people say that... y-you're really k-kind, M... Mister."

Onrah was a little taken back at first by the two young stalkers, gazing down upon the more upfront one with a rather solemn expression. He'd not wanted company today, but like most days when Onrah wanted to be alone, others usually found him to try and talk to the God of Death. He wondered what the two boys were wanting, though it seemed to be as he guessed. Onrah could have sighed in frustration, but he didn't want to upset these hopeful Demon boys. They, like everyone else, still looked up to Onrah like some awesome big brother. Why? Onrah had never even seen these black and white haired kids before, and yet they spoke as if his biggest fans. Onrah didn't deserve fans or any recognition like that, it only put another pin of pressure into his heart. Onrah refused to speak for now. He cared for others, obviously, but really didn't want to speak to these kids. Not because he despised them or something, but because due to the stress and worry that drained Onrah daily, he didn't know if he could say something that would be beneficial to these two. Finally sighing after a painful silence, Onrah knelt himself down. "Thanks... your words mean a lot to me." Onrah muttered as a reply. He rubbed his neck awkwardly, "Um... having a fellow Demons support helps me get my job done, and together we'll make sure the Demon race's future is a bright one." Onrah added, though he couldn't help but feel like his words were just rehearsed nonsense, used to please others who tried to speak to him. He kept up a fake, bravado smile for a bit, before letting it drop down. The Demon God sighed. "I'm sorry to disappoint you two, but... I don't feel like anything special. I do a lot to balance the world, sure. But that's it, there's nothing more to me than Onrah, God of Death."

Yes perhaps Gensho was a little to over-excited to meet Onrah. But he'd heard so much about the God of Death, and for the benefit of being able to live, knowing the God was what Gensho wanted. Akvan was dragged along, and pretended that he didn't also want to meet the God of Death, as if his timid brother wasn't more excited than Gensho deep down. Truth be told, Gensho was hoping to at least have Onrah boost Akvan's spirit, if not his own. Gensho didn't need inspiring so much, but Gensho wanted his brother to find his feet some more, perhaps Mister Onrah could teach him about that. Though, Gensho felt like something was wrong here, something disappointing. Onrah wasn't so chirpy to see others, he looked distant, and perhaps intimidating from his sheer height. Gensho could feel Akvan shuffle further and further back, until finally Onrah knelt down, speaking honestly to the twins. Gensho listened, keeping his face neutral and silent. This wasn't what Gensho had expected, and it made him quiet and internally shocked. Akvan, however, couldn't hide emotions so well. Gensho could see his brother shaking a little more. "B... But Mister O-Onrah! You a-are special, um, you must be." Akvan tried to retort, though soon feel squeaky and quiet. Gensho had turned around, staring at something amongst the rubbish for a moment. His poor brother was reaching a limit here, and Gensho decided to put a quick stop to it. He turned around to face Onrah, and smacked him over the place with a piece of wood. "Well, I do feel disappointed, and I think you should too. If you don't feel special, that's fine. I don't... Akvan doesn't. It's all about what others think of us, and what we want them to think of us, right?" Gensho stated, tossing the piece of wood back into the rubbish pile. "Gensho.." Akvan muttered, and Gensho smiled, hugging Akvan's neck a bit. "Those rumours aren't lies though, are they Mister Onrah? People think you're really nice, we came here to see if it was true. If nice is what you are, then just be yourself. We're not expecting some great speech, right Akvan?" Akvan stirred, looking to his brother then to Onrah quickly. "Um... y-yeah. We just wanted t-to talk, and... l-learn things." Akvan replied, and Gensho nodded with a chuckle. "Precisely." The young Demon answered, before looking to Onrah, a look in his eye that asked him, even if he didn't want to, to at least just talk to them. "S-so... Mister Onrah, wh-what do you think a... about Demons?" Akvan asked quietly.

Onrah hadn't been in many fights, so he never saw Gensho's little attack coming. He was planning on just leaving when the weaker, white-haired boy began to get upset, but was caught off guard by the sudden smack across his face. It hurt more than Onrah expected, and he tried to shake the daze away whilst the dark-haired one spoke. Gensho, his name apparently was, and Onrah felt a little shocked at what the boy came out with. This was all coming from a ten year old child, and yet it hit Onrah home. His head dropped a little, and the Demon God thought hard about it. What he wanted others to think of him. Well, Onrah didn't want to be considered mean, he wanted to make others happy. Onrah was naturally kind to others, but it had been lacking recently when Onrah didn't feel worthy of others company or respect. But this little boy rose a good point, Onrah shouldn't care how he felt about his own worth, but care about proving it to others. After being silent, the Demon God chuckled, properly and leaned forward to pat each child on the head. "Heh, you're exactly right kid." Onrah replied, before squeezing down on Gensho's head just that little bit more. "But that really hurt you know? I like to repay people for what they give me, so keep your guard up." Onrah added, with a wink. He was a little surprised by the request, but remembered just how young these two must be. With a smile to Akvan, Onrah sat himself down in front of the boys, and nodded his head. "Alright Akvan, as I said, I like to repay people. You guys have given me some good words, so I'll see what I can tell you." Onrah replied. He pondered on the question for only a few seconds, for it was something Onrah thought over constantly, and believed wholeheartedly. It was, in fact, one reason he was chosen for his role, though Onrah himself didn't see it as that inspiring of an opinion. Perhaps he was about to be proved wrong. "Well, what do I think about Demons? Hmm... I think, Demons are misjudged a lot. Others don't see them for what they are, living beings. For all of time, as far as we know, Demons have thrived in chaos. Unfortunately, we are the only beings to understand the value of chaos and respect it. Because of that, others think we are just savage and evil. They don't think we are the same as them, because our views are a little different. But the fact is, what do we all have in common?" Onrah asked, though didn't wait for an answer. He pointed carefully to Akvan's chest, "We have a heart," and then Onrah lifted his hand to point- and gently poke- the boy's head, "and we have a mind. We have values of friendship, and of love. We care about living, and want to know what life means. We care... and that should be enough to see us, all of us, as equal, don't you think?" Onrah stopped, lowering his hand and smiling. It felt... good, to explain things, as if Onrah was also explaining them, reminding them, to himself as well. The Demon God looked up to the sky. "I can't stop for long, with my duty and all. But... would you two like to come along for a bit? We can always learn some more, right?"

Akvan almost felt as though his hopes were shattered when their idea of what Onrah was like had been proven wrong. The Demon God claimed to be different from the rumours, and it made Akvan's purple eyes water. It wasn't good for him to get like this, Gensho and the adults told Akvan to try and contain his emotions better, and not let the evil inside out. But, asking him to be brave all the time had the opposite effect, making Akvan even more fragile. But Gensho was supportive at all times, knowing when Akvan was at a limit where things could get dangerous. And any evil lurking inside disappeared with the shock of watching Gensho hit Mister Onrah. Things got better from then on out. Gensho spoke some wise words for a ten year old, and Akvan giggled when Onrah seemed to lighten up. Maybe they'd been silly to see Onrah as always happy. Everyone had problems, Akvan knew that well enough. And so everyone needed some support, even the God of Death. Onrah brightened up, giving the kids a friendly pat on the head, before listening to Akvan's question. He'd wanted to know, as it was strange to the boy, how some liked Demons and others hated them, the latter a more frequent occurrence. The way Onrah put it, light up the eyes of both the boys. How everyone was equal, and there was even proof to provide for that fact. Gensho chuckled, pushing Akvan a bit with a smile that just said, 'see how nice he is?'. Akvan smiled in response, eyes now dried and shimmering. Onrah prepared to head off, and before it got Akvan down, he asked the pair is they wanted to join him. Akvan said nothing, but Gensho was very verbal about his excitement. The brothers asked Onrah loads of questions that day, before leaving at night to get rest in Dranar, each excited to see Mister Onrah again to spend time with him.
-----------------
It was a month after seeing Onrah, and the Demon brothers now spent so long with the Demon God in Sohul that they stayed there over night as well. In fact, Akvan didn't think they'd been to Dranar at all in weeks. Gensho didn't mind, and didn't show any signs of caring, but Akvan felt a little off. It was only a little pain, perhaps a stomach ache or something, as Mister Onrah had assured Akvan. Leaving it at that, Akvan continued to look forward to each day, when Onrah promised to meet them if they could find him, as some sort of game in a way to test the boys skills in stalking. They spent the night in home-made hammocks Onrah had helped them build down one alleyway of Minato, and Gensho had woken up before even the Dawn to get ready to go find their friend. Akvan woke up much later, and felt so heavy when moving. He shuffled towards Gensho, giving his brother a light smile. "You alright brother?" Gensho asked with concern, looking to Akvan's pale face. Akvan smiled again, "Y-yeah, guess I'm... just a little tired still." Akvan replied, and Gensho giggled. "Guess I did keep us up late last night talking, sorry. But yesterday was just so much fun, I've never been so far into Baransu!" Gensho began. Akvan blinked slowly, leaning a shoulder against the wall to the side of him. "It w-was huge... w-wasn't it?" Akvan replied, shivering a little. Perhaps this morning was a little cold, even for a Spring day. Gensho hummed. "Indeed, and I bet Onrah will take us some place even more amazing today, right Akvan?" The brother asked, waiting for a reply. There was a subtle, thump noise near to Gensho, and he turned his head quickly. "Akvan?" He asked again, though Gensho's red eyes met no one, not at his height anyway. Looking down, Gensho quickly dove to the floor, next to the crumbled Akvan. "Brother! What is it? Are you alright?" Gensho asked rapidly, gently giving Akvan's shoulder a shake. There was no response, and as Gensho pressed down on his shoulder, something began to seep from Akvan's cream shirt, something crimson red. Gensho felt a little sick. "B... Blood?" He muttered, breath shuddering as he looked at what blood passed onto his hand. His concerns rose, and Gensho tried pushing Akvan a little harder. "What happened Akvan? Brother?" Gensho asked again, leaning closer to see any response on his brother's face. It was as though Akvan was sleeping, though trapped in some sort of painful nightmare, his face pulled into a suffering expression. Gensho had no idea what to do, not knowing what had even happened. Keeping himself from having a panic attack, the witty brother unhooked his cape, wrapping it around his shivering brother. "I'll go find Onrah! Just... just hold on Akvan, please?"

Whilst it could be said that Onrah's time spent with the two kids was a hindrance to his job, Onrah wasn't planning on changing it. They made him happy, the twin Demons boys, and Onrah felt a little empty when they weren't around. In fairness though, there wasn't much Onrah knew about Gensho and Akvan, other than what was obvious about their personalities. Though he'd asked, the two much rather asked their own questions than answer any. Even after a month, they were still so ecstatic to be around the Demon God of Death. Onrah smiled, sitting down on the edge of one of Minato's only displayed waterfall, wandering when his little friends would join him. They'd spent all month down in Sohul, even living here in Minato now, which Onrah had hoped them achieve. He didn't think there was anything wrong with that, it was a myth that Demons could be unhealthy if they spent too long in Sohul. Onrah never went to Dranar, and he was fine after a year. Onrah sighed, rubbing his eyes a little and looking down. This eye power of his was a pain, literally. It stung, but Onrah couldn't control it yet, how above many people's heads, there were strange words that Onrah couldn't decipher yet. He and Dove had figured out that they were something to do with how someone died, but Onrah had yet to learn the Language of Death. He'd figure it out slowly, and instinct at the moment was all Onrah needed to do his job. Thoughts aside, Onrah noticed Gensho jump out of an alley, looking around and then spotting Onrah, a few blocks away. The early morning meant the street was pretty empty, but it wasn't until Gensho began running closer that Onrah could see something was up. Gensho, the clean little boy who cared deeply about personal appearance, was dotted with bloodstains. Onrah swallowed his fears, quickly getting up to meet the little Demon half way. He knelt down, ready to ask the shell-shocked Gensho what was wrong, but Gensho spoke first. "Mister Onrah! You have to help, please!" Gensho begged. Onrah went a little pale, something was definitely up. Onrah tried to smile, putting a hand on Gensho's shoulder, trying to calm the shaking boy. "Calm down, tell me what's wrong, where's Akvan?" Onrah replied, and Gensho seemed to whimper a little. "He... I don't know but, m-my brothers really hurt." Gensho muttered. Onrah's breath was caught, "... Show me." He asked, and Gensho quickly took a hold of some of Onrah's sleeve, pulling him along to the alleyway. The scene was something the God of Death wasn't expecting to see, not for two kind kids like these ones. Blood formed a puddle on the ground, and it was painted across the slab-stone ground as who it belong to had dragged himself into the centre of the alleyway.

Gensho didn't know how Onrah would help, but he was grateful when Onrah did. The boy just needed an adult's help, and he knew Onrah would be able to help in some way. He'd run back as fast as he could, pulling Onrah along, but Gensho hadn't considered that leaving Akvan alone might be bad. He thought his brother had passed out, but somehow, Akvan had moved himself. Gensho froze, staring as his brother sat upright, like some terrifying, bloodied doll, staring into nothing. But it was Akvan's eyes, and the slight smirk on his face, that reminded Gensho of the thing he'd forgotten. Gensho's brother dealt with evil in his mind, and that evil sometimes got out, especially when Akvan was upset or in pain. Gensho knew who they were looking at wasn't really his brother, but that evil that Gensho tried to keep him from. Hesitantly, Gensho moved closer, "Akvan? Are you alright?" He muttered. Akvan's purple eyes looked up, glaring weakly to Gensho. "H... hurts, it... it fucking hurts." Akvan muttered. Gensho whimpered quietly, trying to keep back the tears in his eyes. He hated seeing his brother change on a normal day, it was horrible to see him like this, bleeding from all points on his body for no reason, and glaring down Gensho like he was hated. A fist came towards Gensho, and he leaned back to just dodge it. Weak as he was now, Akvan's attack caused him to fall to the side, growling softly. "Piece of shit... I hate you, stop this... fucking pain." Akvan muttered, taking a few more harsh breaths, before his eyes closed again, and the tension to Gensho's brother dropped. Gensho shook himself awake from the shock, head looking back to Onrah. He didn't have time to explain what that was, and only begged Onrah with watering eyes. "Please, please help him."

Onrah was rapidly understanding that these two kids weren't simple Demons. At least, one of them wasn't. Onrah never thought he'd seen such a change in personality. Even whilst bleeding so heavily, Akvan tried to attack Gensho, before collapsing. Onrah came over as Gensho asked him to help, making sure his brother was still breathing. Now that he was seeing it, Onrah had an idea of what was causing this sudden bleeding, but he couldn't be certain. Though, he watched as even Akvan's hair, once white, began to turn blood red and stained. Onrah took a deep breath, calming himself down before turning to Gensho. "It'll be alright, I'll do what I can. Let's get him to Dranar first, then we'll find out what's wrong." Onrah said to Gensho, trying to smile and pat the dark-haired boy to comfort him. Onrah carefully lifted the light Akvan up, and took off quickly for their homeland. Up in Dranar, the progress of whatever was hurting Akvan should at least slow down, then Onrah could asked around for advice. It was on the way up, that Onrah noticed a familiar face flying down. "Dove! Thank goodness, we might need your help!" Onrah asked, and though confused, Dove didn't question her friend, nodding to Onrah and following him up to Dranar. They got to Onrah's small house in Kurrayami, and Onrah laid Akvan down on his single bed whilst Dove carefully inspected the boy. They checked his skin, and there were no wounds whatsoever. It was just like blood was leaking from Akvan, like water from a squeezed sponge. "It must be Sanguine." Dove muttered, and Onrah nodded, his suspicions confirmed. Gensho looked confused and panicked, unaware of what the two adults spoke of. Onrah looked down to Gensho, smiling sympathetically. "Sanguine is one of the only Demon diseases out there. It causes our blood to become more acidic than usual, causing it to burn and seep it's way through anything, from skin, to strands of hair." "The disease was thought to have died out when Demon's immunity increased, but those weak enough can still contract it, especially if they spend a long period of time out of Dranar air." Dove added. Gensho went pale, marks on his face from streams of tears. "So... so it's my fault. I made Akvan stay down in Sohul with me for so long." Gensho mumbled, shuddering now. Onrah was quick to knell down near the saddened child, making sure Gensho was looking at him. "No, it's not your fault at all Gensho. If anyone's at fault, it's me. I should have told you two to go rest up in Dranar, rather than keep you down with me. I was... being childish." Onrah replied. Gensho didn't seem very reassured, looking from his suffering brother to the God of Death. "Mister Onrah... is, is Akvan going to die?" One question that stopped Onrah in his tracks. He went silent, looking over to Akvan. His uncontrollable power showed the random words above the bleeding child's body, but Onrah as usual couldn't make them out. Maybe they said the boy was going to die from this. And by his duty, Onrah should accept that. But, he felt so torn. His throat felt dry, and Onrah's eyes grew damp, just imagining what it would be like to lose one of these kids. He was forced to realise that, even after only a month, they meant a good deal to the Demon God. And, laws be damned, he didn't want to see Akvan die, just as much as Gensho didn't. Calming himself down, Onrah gave Gensho an embrace. "No, he's not. Gensho... I promise I'll save your brother, ok?" Onrah answered, not letting go of the boy until he'd calmed down as well. Smiling to Gensho, Onrah got up to face Dove. "Dove, we need to go ask King Mo, see if he knows what can cure this disease. Can you... support Akvan? Keep him alive for as long as possible, please." The Angel Guardian seemed taken back by this, scoffing quietly. "You want me to force life magic into him, to prevent him from dying?" She asked for confirmation. Onrah sighed, knowing it was very much against their laws of balancing life and death to be doing this. But, he gave his friend a pleading look, and she finally sighed as well. "Fine, I'll try. But you best hurry, Onrah, even with my powers, life has it's own stubborn opinion." Onrah quickly thanked her, before offering a hand to Gensho, planning on taking the boy with him to see Mo, just to get him away from this morbid scenery.

Post by Just Mo on Sept 15, 2015 22:28:29 GMT
Mo felt like the Demon race was going through a stage of many Demon Gods being made. Mo couldn't help the rapid employment, there were many good Demons out there, and he wanted to give out the God roles more and more. It was an exciting time for the King, and he was enjoying watching his crazy kids grow up responsible for a change. He'd been keeping an eye on Onrah, knowing the God of Death had it tough. Being made the strongest Demon God so suddenly, thrown into shoes not quite fitted for the boy yet. But Mo had high hopes for Onrah, even in a year the Demon had thrived in his duty, even if he himself didn't believe so. Mo didn't know what to do with himself at the moment, other than clean up from last night's dinner with Tenshi, and plan for a nice cup of tea. He got his skulls to work on that, whilst the Demon King sat in his library, reading ancient books and reminiscing. There came a rushed knock on the front door, echoing down to where the purple Demon sat. He frowned, placing the book down and quickly waddling to the door. He smiled when he looked up to the towering Onrah, welcoming the boy in, and glancing to his smaller companion. Mo could see some panic in the air, the small boy upset, and Onrah looked scared and hopeful towards Mo.
There was no need for simple chatter, Mo cut straight to the point. "You need my help, in what way can I assist you, my children?" Mo asked. Onrah took a deep breath. "Mo, there's a little boy right now, Akvan, he's suffering from Senguine, and a rather severe form of it. I know... I know the disease is almost always fatal, and we don't seem to know of a cure, but please, Mo there must be some way to save him." Onrah stated. He looked more panicked than ever, for a boy Mo had specifically chosen for his cool-headedness and understanding on the need of death. Mo gave Onrah a long, hard look. "God of Death, you know that if someone is fated to die, then we cannot deny them that. In fact, it is your duty to ensure others are able to go to death without struggle. Why do you insist on denying this child that?" Mo asked as well. Onrah went to reply, but sealed his mouth shut, unable to fathom the words to explain, knowing that Mo was right. That this was probably just a fool's hope. But, Onrah managed to mutter something, only Mo's acute hearing could pick up. "Fate be damned, I don't want to lose him." Mo chuckled at that, smiling to the little boy, remembering his face now that Mo knew of the situation. "Well then Gensho, Onrah... I see what information I have." Mo said. He returned a few moments later, after using his skulls to assist him in reading every small bit of information he could grasp on Senguine and trying to find a cure in there somewhere. In the end, the Demon King had to pull together his own knowledge, along with a hunch, to create a resulting answer. Mo returned to the praying Demons, addressing Onrah the most. "Icarus Caves. Your best hope of a cure lies there." Mo stated. Onrah seemed enlightened by the answer, though he shuddered when thinking of the caves that Mo spoke of. Mo continued. "What you need is a special silver ore, one that when extracted, remains as a liquid. It's been a long time since such ore has been used, and I doubt very much will remain in those caves. However, along with the ore, you will need Shadow-Slash flowers as well. Silver alone would certainly end the boy's life, using a flower that thrives in shadows should restrain the silvers toxic part, and allow it to cure and calm the acidic blood. Both are found in Icarus caves, and both are just as elusive as the other." Mo added. He sipped on a cup of tea, judging Onrah's face, and the hopeful Gensho as well. "It may not even work, but there is something we can at least try. Though I'm afraid I cannot help beyond this, the choice to deny death is yours, Onrah, so you must fight this disease back... That being said, I hope you succeed in saving him."

There was no doubt Mo wanted to help. He only made sure what rules Onrah was breaking with his desire to save Akvan, but beyond that, the purple Demon tried his hardest to find them information. Onrah sat quietly, looking to Gensho, who stared out of a window, down towards Kurrayami. Onrah tucked an arm behind the little guy, chuckling softly. "We'll save him Gensho, even the King's helping us with that. So there's nothing to worry about, alright?" Onrah said, hearing Gensho sniff hard, and holding him even closer. Gensho didn't seem to reply, and Onrah left him be, turning his head to watch King Mo appear again. Onrah was lifted with hope, smiling when Mo came with an answer. But, then Onrah pictured the place he needed to go. The God simply nodded to the rest, making sure to remember what it was he needed to get. Gensho seemed to perk up a bit, a smile on his face to think that there was a way to save his brother. However, as he turned to look at the pale expression Onrah had on, the little boy dropped down again. Onrah didn't speak again until they'd returned to his house, bidding Mo with a simple thanks. Dove almost dragged Onrah into the bedroom the moment he came through the door. "He got a little energetic earlier, you missed it. The boy jumped straight up and tried biting me." Dove stated, seeming neither annoyed or calm about Akvan's apparent actions. Onrah knew this must be the same as what had happened before, feeling a need to apologise to his friend. But Dove spoke again. "He's calmed down now, or rather, his life ran out. I've brought it back, but I won't do so again, Onrah... What did Mo tell you?" Onrah tried to glaze over how serious this was, if behind his back, death had tried to claim Akvan once, and get to the plan. Though, it felt dry on his tongue to say it.
"Icarus caves... the cure lies in there." Onrah stated, and Dove's expression dropped as well. "I see..." Gensho looked back and forth from the adults, looking to his bandaged brother as he slept through nightmares. "What is it? What is Icarus Caves, Mister Onrah?" Gensho asked, looking over to his idol. Onrah pursed his lip, before looking down to Gensho. "Icarus caves are really ancient caves deep into the core of Dranar. They're riddled with dangers, volcanoes, and Demonic creatures that are strong enough to thrive in such a place. It's rumoured, that Icarus caves is the most dangerous place in Dranar." Onrah replied, unable to pick up his tone to make it sound anything but bad news. Gensho's eyes were watering again, and he stumbled back a bit. "Then... then, are you n-not going to go there?" Gensho squeaked. Onrah shook his head, "No, I'll go there still." He answered, and even Dove looked to Onrah wide-eyed. There was a pause, then Onrah spoke again. "But... I can't go there without a map of the cave systems, or the right gear... Gensho, I'm afraid I can't go there until tomorrow, at the earliest." "But! But Akvan won't last that long! We've got to go now, or else he... he'll." Gensho began to shout back, though his voice wavered and broke off when he looked up to the apologetic expression of Onrah's. The boy stepped back a little more, before turning and heading out of the room, slamming the door behind him. Onrah went to go after Gensho, but knew he'd only gone out to be alone and cry. It pained Onrah to see him so upset, after promising to do his best. "There's a lot of responsibility you have, Onrah. But, you pile it on yourself." Dove commented from behind him. The God of Death turned around, "What do you mean?" The Angel frowned. "You've gone out of your way to help these two Demon children, spend precious time with them, even go against nature's way to keep one alive. And for what means? Onrah... you should let the boy die." Onrah went to object, but Dove continued. "There is no changing what life chooses for us. Even if that choice isn't appreciated. Some have to die young, you should know that Onrah, there's no going against one's fate. You must see the words of death above his head, Onrah, he's destined to die here, so let him." Onrah caught his breath, blinking a few times to pull back any tears. "I can't read it... The words of death, I can't read them." Onrah commented, placing a caring hand on Akvan's forehead, feeling how it had gone cold already. "I know that... that maybe his destiny is to simply die here, but I refuse to believe it. These two kids, they aren't just your normal pair of Demons. I see something... special in them, too special to go to waste. So I refuse to believe those words of death are for now, and I'm going on the hunch that this little guy needs to live... If it results in giving Akvan a life that is worse than death, then I guess that will be my fault. And I'm prepared to take that fault for him. It hasn't been long, but I feel like an older brother to these two, after how they've looked up to me. And as their brother, I want to protect them, help them be happy... You can understand that, right Dove?" Dove paused as well, before sighing and shaking her head. "I see something special in you as well Onrah, they'd be lucky to have a brother like you."
The two left it at that for the night. Dove left for Aura, promising to come back in the morning, and Onrah remained awake to watch Akvan, and keep death away from the boy. Gensho had been checked on, given a blanket and comfortable space to sleep, though refused to speak anymore. Onrah almost drifted into sleep himself, just dozing off as morning came, and Dove burst into the room. "Onrah! The boy... Gensho, he's missing!"

The rise and fall of hope was horrible. Gensho for a moment thought they could go right away and help Akvan. But, Onrah wasn't going until the next morning, and Gensho was close to doubting the God of Death again. He must see the pain Gensho's brother was in, that he'd already almost died, so how Onrah could remain so calm and not care enough to go straight away, Gensho just didn't understand. He'd rushed out of the room, crawling onto the closest chair and huddling into a ball. There was no way Gensho could just live without Akvan, his brother was everything. Gensho had friends, other Demons that knew his name and would probably welcome him into their lives. But Gensho didn't want to be just a part of someone else's life, he wanted his own story, and to have that, he needed his twin by his side. Gensho covered his face with his arms, exhausted in his heart too much to move. He could hear the muffled voiced of the others in the bedroom, but couldn't care to listen. Adults were so stupid, they had no willpower. Onrah would still be a down, unenthusiastic Demon God if it wasn't for the twins picking him up. Gensho was glad they'd been able to do so, but he just didn't get what made adults so down in the first place. Was it because, situations like Akvan happened more often, and to them, it just drained all their hope away? Gensho stared towards the wall, well... he refused to become an adult like that, he'd save his brother all alone if he had to, and make sure they could both be the cheery, matured Demons Gensho always thought they could be.
Gensho feinted sleep as Dove came to check on him, giving him warm blankets before leaving, and the Demon waited a few more minutes before silently getting up. He folded the blanket into a neat pile, and shuffled towards Onrah's kitchen, or storage, whatever the messy room was. Grabbing a bag, Gensho climbed on the tabletops, collecting what he might need. He was told the minimal about Icarus caves, so the boy didn't know how far away they were, or how long it would take to navigate them. So Gensho just collected a standard supply of food and water, along with some other pieces of gear from the clustered room. After that, Gensho quietly walked back passed the closed door where Akvan was, giving it a glance before heading out into Kurrayami. He didn't know where Icarus caves were, so Gensho headed towards a friend's house first. On the outskirts of the red city, Gensho knocked on the door to be received by a sleepy and little annoyed friend. He smiled, "Hey... sorry for the lateness.. but, does your father know where Icarus caves are?" Gensho asked, and his friend frowned, but knew Gensho was serious tonight. No one had seen Gensho so down, if ever he had a reason for needing to know how to get to some dangerous place, right now his reason seemed clear on his determined face. So the friend went inside, before appearing at the door with a drawn map. He explained the general direction, and with much thanks, Gensho moved on.
After getting out of Kurrayami, Gensho summoned his wings. The map pointed to a mountainous land beyond Paludem, which in itself was a vast desert, so Gensho knew walking would take him far too long. In flight, and even with his young wings, Gensho made it to the rocky plains before sunrise. Taking a look around, Gensho checked the map once more. He frowned a few times, it was no official document, and the drawings weren't entirely clear either. But, from what Gensho could gather, the only way into Icarus caves was to go into the highest volcano of this area, and find a small passage inside. Gensho looked a little troubled by the idea of being so close to a pit of boiling rock, but there wasn't going to be any hesitations on this journey, Gensho was determined to get the job done and save his brother as soon as possible. He flew to the volcano, feeling the vat of lava and heat it radiated hit his face, and burn into his leathery wings. Getting closer only made the air hotter, and Gensho was melting from the heat by the time he found the small passage. For an adult, getting into the caves might be hard, since the passage could only be barely squeezed through, but for Gensho, it was a perfect size for him. Gensho had a little smile on when he entered the caves, feeling a little brave now he was inside this supposedly 'deadly' place. After a little trek into the dark chasm, Gensho took a little break, leaning against a formation of rocks that seemed to line the path before him. He took a drink of water as well, before checking on the other supplies. All the while, the stone wall behind him had moved, a good few feet into the air, where it hovered. Gensho turned around in time to see it rise above his head, and in shock, the boy realised what he'd leaned on was far from just a simple rock wall, it was a Dragon's tail.

Onrah felt so stupid, the moment Dove's announcement kicked in. He should have been keeping Gensho far closer, knowing how fragile the little boy was. Part of him was inspired by Gensho's bravery, but mostly Onrah was panicking over Gensho's foolish decision, and Onrah's own foolish ignorance that had led to it. He got up quickly, going into the other rooms to make sure Gensho wasn't just hiding. "Dammit! Dove..." Onrah glanced to his friend, seeing her face set with worry as well. She simply nodded, knowing Onrah wanted her to remain here for Akvan's sake. The nod being enough, Onrah dashed outside, taking up to the skies quickly. He knew where Icarus caves were, unfortunately he now had to go there without weapons, or maps or anything to help once he got into the network of caves. Gensho might have a few supplies on him, but Onrah doubted the young boy had anywhere near enough to protect himself from the harshness of the caves. The God spotted the unforgiving mountains around Icarus caves, seeing the smoke rising from the centre piece, the volcano. He took care when entering the volcano, finding it hard to navigate around the boiling pit for the entrance. Of course, the entrance was right before Onrah, but the tall Demon couldn't really see it, his stature too high to tell it was the actual entrance and not just a small passage. Onrah looked around further for a way in, trying to recall some of the old tales of previous Demon adventurers tackling this place. In his though, Onrah heard a screech below from the small passage, and a thundering noise as the ground shook.
Onrah's breath was held, knowing the sound of a Dragon's cry when he heard it. Whatever, or as Onrah dreaded, whoever it was attacking, got the Dragon mad enough to knock against the walls of the cave. Inside, with just this one wall between them, the Dragon struck it's surroundings in fear. And that single wall managed to crumble slightly from the hit. Onrah flew back as the wall crumbled, noticing how the small entrance was now enlarged enough for him to pass. Onrah dove straight in, not caring what would he'd face inside, only caring about getting to Gensho as soon as he could. Looking around in the dark tunnels, Onrah could hardly see his hands in front of him, let alone the moving 'walls' around him. Remaining in flight, Onrah navigated further into the cave, coming to an open area, with ravines and chasms scarring across it and spikes hanging from every space on the cave walls. The light was a little better here, good enough to see around. And Onrah could instantly see the Dragon causing such noise and earthquakes, a huge and hulking black lizard with a skull-like face and curved horns. It hissed and moved around the large area, snapping it's jaws at something so tiny just before it. Squinting, Onrah recognised the small thing the Dragon chased, the instant the monster lunged once more to snap up the little Demon. "Gensho!" Onrah called desperately, failing at getting the Dragon's attention. Mere seconds before the Dragon swallowed him, Onrah had no other choice but one course of action. He lifted a hand, summoning Gensho's golden string of life, and tugging on it hard. Gensho was instantly pulled towards Onrah and away from the danger of the Dragon. The monster's jaws snapped around nothing, and it hissed in frustration as it looked for Onrah, who had rushed off into a smaller tunnel to hide. He clutched Gensho close, hoping his abuse of the golden string only dazed his little friend. Looking down with worry, Onrah checked Gensho for any injuries, and looked hopefully for breathing. "Gensho? Please tell me I didn't just..."

Gensho could only run, run and fly from the monstrous Dragon. The giant black lizard blended into the dark caves, and Gensho could only just see the glaring red eyes and bright white teeth of the monster as it attacked him. Even so small and insignificant as he was, Gensho had upset the Dragon in his lair, and the monster wasn't letting it go unpunished. Rocks were smashed and wicked cries of anger filled the hollowed out area of the cave as Gensho ran around. He looked for some sort of cover, but couldn't find a tunnel to dive into before the Dragon attempted to burn or bite him. The small Demon was getting exhausted with all the flying and dodging, his speed gradually slowing down until the Dragon was breathing it's hot breath over Gensho, bared fangs just inches from snapping the boy up. The monster opened it's jaws one last time to snap forwards, and Gensho felt himself wince with the idea of the next moment being his last. His breath was soon forced out of him, body whipped to the side. In a blur, Gensho assumed he'd been eaten, where in fact he'd been pulled away from danger. He didn't know what was happening, only that he was horribly stunned, his head pulsing in pain and heart having a hard time to keep rhythm. Gensho's whole soul had a small moment of panic when it's golden string was pulled, but he soon faded back into knowing and feeling. Taking deep breaths, Gensho opened his eyes to see Onrah. "Onrah... what happened?" Gensho asked, forgetting how he was supposed to be mad at the God of Death. Onrah seemed relieved, checking the heat of Gensho's forehead and looking out to the caves with concern. "Guess I got you back for hitting me with a stick, huh?" Onrah replied, voice shaking a little still, but a smile beaming on the older Demon's face. Gensho smiled too, gradually getting to his feet once the stun wore off. Though, peace was short-lived, as the entrance of the tunnel burst with sounds of roars and scraping claws. The Dragon was desperate to have his prey back, and tried to dig Gensho and Onrah out of their hiding place. "Foolish little creaturesss!" The Dragon's voice boomed, "None will escape the wrath of I! Shu the Dragon of Death!" He hissed, trying to breath flames into the tunnel. Safe under the rocks Onrah had hidden them at, the God chuckled. "Dragon of Death, eh? Gensho, stay close to me, alright?"

Onrah has a smirk on his face the moment this Dragon called himself such a title. Onrah wasn't an expert on Dragons, but he knew how their social rankings worked. They gave themselves fancy titles in order to put themselves above other Dragons. But, such a thing only really worked with proof. Keeping Gensho close to his side, Onrah strolled out to the end of the tunnel. "So, you call yourself Dragon of Death? That's interesting..." Onrah stated, before raising a hand. Around it formed the Dragon's golden string, impossible for Onrah to cut given how much power it would require, but still an obvious example for what Onrah said next. "Because you see, I happen to be the Demon God of Death... which means I see a phony quite easily." Onrah said up to the Dragon. Shu hissed again, looking down at the golden string and then to Onrah in surprise and frustration. "Then if I kill you, I will be the true one." Shu growled, going to snap at Onrah. The Demon held the string higher, so it came between him and the Dragon's teeth. Shu backed off. "As if some weak little lizard could kill me. With one movement I could snap this string and end you, Shu." Onrah stated. Shu let out an angry, childish roar, before glaring at the two Demons. Seeing things were at a stalemate now, and he wasn't about to be eaten, Onrah relaxed a little. He smiled, "Now that you're listening, what about a deal, big baby Shu?" Onrah proposed. Shu lowered his snout. "And what could tiny Demon make as a deal to me?" Shu asked with a harsh laugh. Onrah continued to smile. "I'll make your title true. If you serve me, the God of Death, then every Dragon from here to the ends of Aura will know you as the real Dragon of Death. Just think how much respect you'd gain then? I'll promise to make sure everyone knows it as well, so long as you serve me from now on. And... so long as you help me and my little brother here." Onrah asked, seeing Shu's eyes both glint with opportunity and frustration. For a Dragon of Shu's size and age, it was personally humiliating to serve a Demon. But, the idea of being feared as the true Dragon of Death made his mouth turn into a small smile. Without a reply, Shu bowed his head, something that was of utmost respect from a Dragon. And it stated a vow from them, that they couldn't break. Onrah nodded and smiled, letting Shu's string disappear. "Good to see you've decided to be our friend then." Onrah stated, glancing to Gensho. "Now then Shu. You should know these caves far better than us. There's two things we're searching for in these volcanic caves, a rare kind of Silver Ore, and Shadow-Slash flowers. Could you take us to them?" Onrah asked. Shu huffed, circles of smoke leaving his snout, before lowering his head for Onrah to walk onto. Onrah gratefully took the ride, picking Gensho up to sit in front of him, as Shu lifted his neck and took the Demons deeper into Icarus caves.
