It had been far too long since Ikiru had indulged in his own hobby. And with all the adorable wedding stuff over, it made Ikiru more and more want to see his old friend. He hadn't seen Hisan in a while, and knew that the Demon wouldn't have forgotten about Ikiru by now, even if he wanted to. Ikiru knew he wasn't a forgettable face. Humming to himself, Ikiru strolled along the docks of Minato, knowing this was the most like place to meet a God of Hate, in the city with the most of it. A few years ago, and Minato would be a dangerous place even for Angels to tread. But after all their help in Baransu, the Angels had profited in Human approval where Demons had tragically lost. So Ikiru felt safe to skip his way around Minato, not worrying for anyone else who might try and challenge the Kyuban without knowing what they were getting into. Ikiru held his staff up, twirling it around in his hand as he sighed. Hisan really didn't like to be found, did he? Well there were plenty of ways of luring out that funny Demon. Ikiru began by asking people if they were angry right now, getting mostly confusion in return. Eventually, Ikiru got bored of that, and jumped on a building. "HEY HISAN!!!! WHERE ARE YOOOOU?" Ikiru shouted across the city, moving a few buildings across before yelling it again. "I KNOW YOU'RE HERE! COME OUT AND SHOW ME THAT ADORABLE FACE OF YOURS!"

There would always be hate as Hisan had discovered, but he was surprised by how little there could be when the minds of many calmed down after battles. The hate now a fraction of what it once was, and Hisan hated it. But it wasn't all at a loss, Catulus could happily wander around Minato again with no worries, Hisan easily nearby, and it gave him back his hiding spot away from others, including stupid, regrettable unforgettable annoying kids with stupidly long last names. Though, once hearing the shouting from said stupid kid, Hisan knew it was only a matter of time before either Catulus got there first, or Ikiru found the Demon hiding... It wouldn't be the first time, unfortunately. Growling to himself, Hisan made his way up from where he was sitting, flying up to the roof just above and crossing his arms, glaring into the back of Ikiru's head. "One, my face is NOT adorable. Two, must you shout so loud... I hate that. And three, what the hell do you want now?" Hisan had found things very peaceful, well as peaceful as they could get, without Ikiru there... And he hated the fact that he hated that peace for some unexplainable reason.

Ikiru waited after yelling for the third time, hearing a beat of wings behind him. Ikiru swung back and forth on his heels for a moment, before turning around after Hisan spoke. He giggled at that funny glare Hisan had. "Awwh, Hisan, you clearly don't look at your self enough." Ikiru replied, skipping over to the Demon. "There's no mistaking an adorable face like that funny one you always make, don't you agree Catulus?" Ikiru looked to the cute little magic cat. Missing him just as much, and petting the little guys head gently. Ikiru's blue eyes looked to Hisan again. "Well I wanted to make sure you could hear me, I know you like to ignore me a lot grumpy-pie." Ikiru almost pouted for a moment, before leaning forward to play with Hisan's face. "I wanted to see that cute frown of yours, of course. It's been far too long after all, and I missed my Hisan and Catulus." Ikiru replied with a bright tone. Once moving back, Ikiru chuckled. "After all, everyone's so busy most of the time. I'm Guardian of Life now, jealous?" Ikiru's job was fun, though it was pretty much only given to the Kyuban by inheritance from his sister and her magic infused into his staff. That said, Ikiru actually took his job almost seriously, unlike everything else in his life.

"Clearly I don't have a need to..." Groaning slightly as Ikiru came closer, Hisan knew he wasn't going to get anymore peace today. Looking to Catulus as he agreed, Hisan glared to his friend. "Traitor." As Catulus hopped onto the others shoulder, clearly he missed Ikiru, why he would never know. Looking back to Ikiru, Hisan rolled his eyes. "Yano, there's a reason for me ignoring you..." Pushing Ikiru's hands away, Hisan gave out another growl, and took a few steps back. "Will you bloody stop that. Sheesh. And why the fuck would I be jealous. I'm quite happy being Guardian of Hate." Sitting down at the side of the roof top, Hisan looked to the streets below, smirking slightly. "Everyone here has some sort of hate... It will never end, and a single word can intensify it to powerful proportions. Very few could handle it all, but I take it as a challenge... So again, why would I be jealous of you?" Looking up to Ikiru quickly, Hisan looked to the crowds below once more. "Its... Amusing to watch the hate people have over each kind."

Ikiru couldn't stop giggling as Hisan seemed impossible to change, as usual. Watching the man grumble and groan and spite Ikiru's existence was more than hilarious, and the Angel really did miss these moments. Ikiru smiled to Catulus, patting his head again. "He such a funny little kitty cat, and how have you been Catulus?" Ikiru asked sweetly, before looking to Hisan again. Ikiru remained standing, leaning on his staff as he too watched people below. How he and the Demon saw things was so different. Viewing hate, where Ikiru saw precious life, and the desire to live. "Everyone? Hmm..." Ikiru lifted his lip up, "I don't think I hate anything." He ended with a soft mutter, glancing to the staff in his hand before going to join Hisan. "Because, like a lot of things... Hate revolves around life, Hissy. Without Life, or the want to live, no one can feel anything." Ikiru began swinging his legs back and forth. "Amusing is a funny choice of words." Ikiru replied with a chuckle, "But... I suppose I agree, though I don't like where it's going." Ikiru glanced to Hisan, tapping his head with his staff. "Tap tap... I didn't ask you Hissy, how has the cutie been? Lots of crazy things have been happening huh?"

Hisan grumbled as the cat was addressed, not really minding as it meant the attention was no longer on himself. But he knew Ikiru wouldn't leave for a while, if Catulus himself was willing to talk, as he obviously was. "Catulus is good thanks. But Catulus misses friend greatly, as does Hisan, though he wont ever admit it..." Hisan rolled his eyes, Catulus always missed Ikiru when he wasn't around, and gave un-necessary lies. Cackling slightly, Hisan knew the phrase of 'I don't think I hate anything' is a lie, no matter who tells it. Everyone hates something, even if its buried deep within, and Ikiru seems to forget he knows what everyone hates as well... Part of the job. "We all hate something... And I know a lot of people who hate life... Why do you think people leave this world under their own terms?" Hisan had too many of those to deal with in his life time, and he knew there would be more to deal with as well. But Hisan had to agree a little, Amusing was a funny choice of words, especially from himself, but there wasn't any other way to really explain it. Unfortunately. Growling as Ikiru taped him with the staff, Hisan had half a mind to snatch it off him, but decided against it. "Don't call me that... And, I haven't kept up to date with things going on... I've done my job and ignored the rest. Its so much more peaceful..." Hisan really didn't care for events that have passed, one not caring even the slightest, and two, it never really effected him. "But I admit, there's been a lot of stuff happen... I'm assuming you got caught up in it." Not that Hisan really cared.

The Angel giggled, tickling Catulus. "And I've missed you, and I know Hisan missed me, I bet he cried every night that I wasn't around to make his day brighter." Ikiru joked, cuddling Catulus closer for a moment. Ikiru knew he himself was lying. Yes, perhaps there was that one thing about his life that Ikiru didn't like. But he didn't admit to hate it. Because if he did, then Ikiru would be admitting to hating himself, the monster he was. And after everything his big brother did to make Ikiru feel like... like a simple Angel again, Ikiru knew he could never admit to hating life. Ikiru looked up, almost pouting. "Maybe people do hate life... it is a rather complex thing after all." Ikiru chuckled, "I'm the Guardian of it, and even I don't understand it completely." Ikiru let his mind move to the amusement of Hisan's reply. "Ignorance really is your strong suite, I always loved that." Ikiru commented, giggling to himself. "Well... There was this big outbreak of a nasty disease that hurt lots of Humans and Angels. In fact it took my sister, Dove. It really wasn't a nice time... it changed me, but that doesn't matter." Ikiru made sure his smile didn't waver. "Was matters is life now, things are much better, there's nice new rulers of your Demon race and my Angel race. My big brother Kakushin is the King, and his newly made partner, Rurushu is King of Demons." Ikiru updated his friend, prodding Hisan carefully. "There you are cutie, consider yourself enlightened."

Hisan snorted, he never cried, it was a sign of unnecessary weakness, but Hisan said nothing on the matter, knowing it would get him no where. Nor did he say more on the lying factor, Hisan said enough lies himself to know when to stop pestering others for their own truths, even if Ikiru was known enough by Hisan for him to be curious as to what he was hiding. "Life isn't one understands, not with how ours work." Hisan gave a smirk at the ignorance comment, it is what he tried, who he was, and none would ever beat him in that respect, he counted on it. Listening to the brief explanation on the recent events, Hisan understood a little better now, things he didn't once before. Though, he did feel a little more for Ikiru in some respect. "I'm sorry for your sister... And, you don't seem much different in my book... Can't tell if its a good or bad thing." Hisan refused to look at Ikiru as he said such un godly things that he would never usually say. But he did know of who these two new Kings were, something's physically cant be remained in secret, those two being one of them. It sickened him really, but as long as they let him carry on his job as normal, then there would be nothing wrong. "Told you not to call me that."

Ikiru smiled, he felt like this was the most Hisan had ever talked back to Ikiru was wasn't full of hatred or growls. Whilst Ikiru loved it when Hisan made his cute, annoyed expressions, he did also like this, talking to his reluctant friend like proper adults did, not playing silly games like Ikiru usually did. Ikiru twirled his staff around a bit. "Maybe it isn't, but isn't life just so... special that way? It's not just something taken lightly." Ikiru replied, looking down a bit. Perhaps he was reminding that to himself a bit. Life was much more than it looked to be, no matter what kind of burden someone had in their life, or what kind of dangers they faced. Ikiru's smile wavered, but he felt sincerely happy for Hisan to reply with something so nice. Ikiru chuckled, "It's alright, she's still with me. But thank you, Hissy starting to show a nice side, eh?" Ikiru teased, even though he felt truly honoured by what Hisan said. Squeezing his staff a little tighter, Ikiru sighed, "But I am, I'm just used to not showing it. If you took this staff away, you'd see who... what I am.... cutie."

Hisan rolled his eyes, trust Ikiru to say such things. "Life is to be taken lightly... We all live and die, in both life's. Why bother with any technicalities." Hisan briefly wondered if this was how he always was like, the words seeming so natural to him, but he didn't ponder too long, there was no point. Hisan really wanted to punch Ikiru right now, he wasn't kind, or nice, not in the slightest... It was something he would tell anyone really, that foreign feeling of losing something or someone in his own heart, he may hate a lot of things, but he wasn't so hateful that he didn't know how one would feel over losing another, even if he only shows it once. Hisan wondered what was up with the staff, and his words backed up that curiosity, what was so bad that he couldn't show? "Don't tempt me to take the staff away Ikiru, so I suggest you don't call me cutie again. Otherwise, you can trust me not to touch it... Don't understand why you cant tell me though, its not like I'm going to think any differently of you..." Which admittedly was true, though he would never admit it out loud, Ikiru was the only friend beside Catulus he had.

Ikiru didn't judge Hisan for his opinions, and didn't add anymore to the conversation on life. Instead just chuckling to the typical Grumpy's response and kicking his legs back and forth. Hisan did his usual, 'want to hit you' look, and Ikiru giggled. So he didn't like being called nice, which meant from now on, that was exactly what Ikiru would call him. Besides, he did really consider Hisan kind, and it felt like a real same that the Demon didn't seem himself like that, when to Ikiru it felt obvious that the cutie had a soft side. True it might just be in the hopeful and happy Angel's eyes only, but Ikiru didn't ever care what others thought about his friends. Ikiru's face hardened for a moment, "If you took the staff away, Hissy, you'd die." Ikiru stated bluntly, before smiling again. "I guess I don't like saying because it always reminds me of unhappy things, and I like living in ignorance of that... what happened, that I'm a... monster." Ikiru swallowed, legs stopped swinging. "This staff contains my sister's life energy. It keeps me from doing horrible things, keeps me as Ikiru... and not some blood thirsty creature who's already killed, and won't hesitate to do so again."

Hisan knew about what this monster was, having almost come one himself. He had seen others who went mad by its power, and he felt a little sympathy for his 'friend', but only a little, as he could only imagine the fear of turning and hurting those he didn't mean to. Sighing slightly, Hisan took a rare moment to go completely out of character, something that he would never do again after today and ruffled Ikiru's hair. "I know what monster you talk about. I don't know what it requires, but if needing the help, with any of it. If your needing blood as well or the sort... I don't need all mine." Hisan would say no more, but at least Ikiru knew it was on the table as offered. But he gave a small smirk to himself for a second, moving his gaze back to Ikiru. "I'm tougher then you think Ikiru. If I took your staff away, and you attacked me, I'm sorry to say but you will be the one with no life in you, I wouldn't hesitate." And he really wouldn't, it was the one rule he set himself to follow. Never hesitate to kill if need be, no matter who, or what it is.

Ikiru enjoyed the little moment of out-of-character Hisan, it was a really surprised to have his hair brushed about by someone who usually hated any kind of physical contact. It certainly made Ikiru smile more than his usual, even when discussing a topic that Ikiru loathed. But Ikiru's smile changed a little, he was grateful to Hisan that he'd be willing to help the Kyuban feed, but Ikiru could never do that. Everyone asked him that, but Ikiru refused to eat. He'd not eaten from any person since he'd killed so long ago. Now he survived on sucking the souls of ill or old animals around Sohul, almost acting as a Guardian of Life and Death as he went about doing so. Ikiru always supposed he could add old and dying people to his menu of nutrients, but there was something about sucking the soul out of a person that felt different than when Ikiru normally did it. Ikiru shook his head, "I appreciate the offer, Hissy, but I could never do that. No matter how parched I am, I don't like taking such precious things from people." Ikiru replied. The Angel smiled again, "If you think you can beat a Kyuban. I know I used to be pretty weak, but that's not the same now... But, if you think you can be tougher, and if there's really something you want to do, then could I ask you a favour?" Ikiru began, looking down. "If I lose control, like when this staff breaks or finally runs out of power to keep me calm, then can you... stop me, permanently. I've killed before, and I don't want to do it again. I know my brothers or other friends could never bring themselves to stop me if the time came, so can I really on my adorable Demon friend to instead?"

Hisan knew Kyuban's needed to eat, Hisan had seen the outcome of those that didn't, alongside those who tried to hold it back. It was obvious Ikiru somehow got by, probably from those who didn't need it as much, but it couldn't be healthy for him, to not eat from another. Hisan gave a smirk though, of course he could beat a Kyuban, it wasn't that difficult, not when you know what you are doing, and he almost scoffed at the idea that Ikiru didn't trust him enough to be able to do so. Until he said his next piece. It caught Hisan of guard, and very little did that, he wasn't one to admit to having a friend, but Ikiru was the closest thing he had, and the mere thought of no longer having Ikiru around did manage to 'terrify' him a bit. It would be boring without him. But it was against his nature to not to agree to such a thing. "... You can rely on me. If that's what you really ask, then I shall not refuse, but promise me two things in exchange. First, you fight to keep control, and second, you also feed from me if you need it. I've seen Kyuban's who either don't feed as another steers them away, or don't feed on the right soul... I'm not saying just me. Only when you really need it."

Ikiru could never ask anyone else to do that kind of thing for him. If they even got word that Ikiru had even suggested handing the decision of his life to someone else, Ikiru would get a stern talking to. But it had to be done, the staff wouldn't last forever, and if the wooden weapon broke? Then hunger would forever consume Ikiru until he was put down, and that haunted the Angel. Ikiru couldn't say he didn't sometimes look at his brothers with a hunger, or anyone else Ikiru met, but he had a stubbornness that went beyond the staff's powers to keep the Kyuban blood calm. He knew what kind of craze happened to a Kyuban just after eating, his sister had almost killed Ikiru just after consuming another, and had major boosts in her physical strength. When a Kyuban didn't eat, it would be the opposite. Slow degrading of health until one shrivelled up and died. If one didn't know they were Kyuban, they'd slowly die, confused and scared. Ikiru listened to the silence between Ikiru's request and Hisan's eventual response. It meant the Demon had to think before replying, which the Angel couldn't blame him for. Ikiru got his huge smile back when Hisan agreed, nodding to the conditions. "Very well Hissy, I'll promise to keep myself... satisfied and in control. It's what I also promised my brothers after all. And thank you, that lets me rest easy." Ikiru sighed, looking up at the sky. He could easily promise everyone who'd offered the Kyuban their blood that he'd seek them out if it was necessary, but Ikiru deep down knew he couldn't ever do such a thing. He'd promise to, but Ikiru would fight against the hunger to feed on others until it was impossible to resist, if he had to. "I've been blessed with almost eighteen years without an incident, I know my luck won't last forever, this curse I have was made for a purpose, and I dread to find out when whoever made it needs to use it."
