Things up in Aura always seemed so mellow and peaceful compared to affairs down everywhere else. Ningen couldn't remember the last time he'd even thought about leaving his comfy workshop to go explore. Even at seventeen, the Angel was over the initial excitement of flying around everywhere. Perhaps it was due to Sohul being a dangerous place right now. Angels were as cautious as every about letting the younger ones down there, especially with numbers so thin right now. So seeing as it was such a bother to go down to a place that wasn't all that interesting, Ningen preferred remaining up here. He had his helpers, older brother Ikiru and Kaku to come along and give him food or news. Plus they brought him all the new toys to mess with and make things with. The only thing about Sohul that got Ningen's bare interest were the architectural structures. The floating city of Sora, and the sky high Baransu Tower. All they really did was inspire some of Ningen's own work, but he did honestly find them worth the visit back when he actually left his cave of a workshop. A small floating island in the middle of no where in the sky. Plenty big enough, but it was away from pretty much every other Aura structure. So Ningen could go weeks without any contact to others, and never complained about the silence. He spoke a lot to himself, which could count as being kind of social. The boy hummed as he worked on something new. As usual, another idea in Ningen's mind put his countless other projects on hold. There were so many unfinished things around the place. Communication systems missing a very important component. Put on hold. Some sort of giant cannon, also put on hold until Ningen could find something to actually fire from it. So many things cluttering around the shop. And now Ningen was buried under another contraption, which right now just looked like a big metal box. "Trying to think of the missing piece here... perhaps a two by twenty seven... no eight, cog?" Ningen muttered to himself, eyes hidden by his work goggles. "Yeah, two by twenty eight, after that I need another power cube, we'll have to ask Ikiru to go borrow that from Shiro, won't we?" Most of Ningen's rarer supplies came from the treasury in Shiro, where his super speedy, Kyuban brother Ikiru could easily get in and out of unseen. It was alright though, most of the things they stole borrowed from the treasury were meaningless relics anyway. Ningen hummed as he got up to get the right cog, lifting his goggles as he heard someone near the door. Perhaps here for a supply drop, or curious visit. Although the latter was very rare in such a quiet part of Aura.

As much as Okashi loved spending time down in Sohul with Takeo, he has to admit he loved being up in Aura, he felt so at ease. It didn't help that Sohul wasn't a safe place right now, not really, and he spent all his time worrying that something would happen to Takeo and his daughter... Because nowadays it seemed more likely. But it wasn't fair to dwell on such things, not while he was living with the two, besides they were both stubborn and strong, they can easily take care of themselves. Whereas others couldn't, or they just needed some help of company, and that was exactly why Okashi was in Aura right now. Looking for Ningen, well not exactly looking as the Angel hardly ever left his workshop, but he was curious as to what he was creating now, finding his inventions and creations unusual and different. Chuckling slightly, Okashi stood by the door listening as the other spoke to himself, something Okashi took in stride and often teased him about. Looking to a small tool near him, Okashi began to levitate it, causing a small crash from another tool before he sent it towards Ningen, he didn't know if it was something the other would need, but it was fun to mess with him and keep things out of reach, and moving things he shouldn't. "We planning to steal something again Ningen?" Smiling slightly, Okashi set down the tool and headed over to the table Ningen was working at before looking at his most recent contraption. "Please tell me this isn't going to randomly blow up..."

Ningen, despite being coped up in his workshop like a happy prisoner, actually had quite a few friends. Perhaps because for a while, he was one of the only Angel offspring, making him a rather popular baby back in the day. Most interest had died down, but almost everyone knew Ningen's name, and a few kept in touch with the quiet, workaholic teen Angel. What kept most of Ningen's few friends visiting was out of sheer curiosity, it had been a good few centuries before the need to invent ever came by an Angel. Angels lived to work, but for a long while, that work had been focused on spreading happiness or worship. Not building random contraptions, some with very little use. But Ningen needed something to fill up his time, plus in his mind, these machines were a lot more useful than others gave them credit for. Ningen didn't see who was at the door, but knew as soon as he saw the floating tool. The boy took a nervous step back as it came towards him. "T-the ability to manipulate proportions of motion and the influence of gravity to create an unlimited range of three dimensional vectors for an object to follow... Okashi! That's your magic, isn't it?" Ningen asked, finally seeing the older Angel over his piles of work. Ningen's interest in all things eccentric moved into his love of magic. Not performing it, but understanding it. The very core of magic and where it came from interested Ningen. He went to grab the tool, only for Okashi to tease him with it. It was mildly annoying, but amongst being annoyed, as ever Ningen was fascinated by watching another's magic. His head darted back as Ningen realised Okashi must have heard the boy talking earlier. "Stealing is against an Angel's code, Mr. Okashi. I never steal... i-it's more like... putting to a better use." Ningen replied quickly, giving an innocent smile before turning his attention back to the big metal box. "Hopefully it won't..." Ningen muttered under his breath, going to twist a part of the box's surface. "I mean! It won't explode... until I ste- borrow the power cube from Shiro, it won't do anything dangerous." Ningen felt a hand over the box, wondering if Okashi would ever regret having an interest, because Ningen was prepared to talk for hours about his project. "What you see is just an endoskeleton, the protection layer for the main bulk of the machine. Inside will be golden lined rubber wires, infused with magic carriers, and a power cube. Once I manipulate the cubes matrix to formulate the right purpose, induce it into a state of slumber and create a ignition coding for it to follow, all I need to do then is find the right metals to form the alloy to make up the outer layer of magic resistant armour... hmmm... standard gold thirteen should do the trick, alloyed to perhaps, twenty kilograms of iron?" Ningen paused, not even realising he hadn't even formed a proper sentence, or come close to explaining what this machine was. "Iron will be easy... thirteen gold however... only place to find that is in island cores, and no one bothers to excavate anymore, might need to take apart some of the other machines..." Ningen pursed his lip, before rushing over to a desk, pushing things aside to bring out a small disk. He tossed into onto the ground before Okashi and himself. "Blu, wake up." Ningen commanded, and the disk lit up a soft blue, creating a cylinder of light in the space around it. A hologram mechanic, simplified to act as a visual storage. Ningen picked up another smaller disk with buttons on it, running through the pictures of blueprints that appeared on Blu's screen, looking for something silently. He did, finally, acknowledge Okashi a bit as he searched, Ningen raising a brow proudly as Blu went to work.

Okashi raised an eyebrow to Ningen, not really understanding what the Mechanic was blabbering on about... But it sounded about right.. All he knew his magic to be was levitation... And that's how he preferred it to stay. "I make things float in mid air... That's what your telling me right?" Smiling over to Ningen, Okashi just hummed and nodded at his blabbering over his work, he was interested of course, but the Angel had a tendency to use fancy words and get lost in his musing to the point that Okashi didn't understand what was going on... He was fine listening, and loved how much the other got into his work... But Okashi just didn't understand. Smiling slightly though, he began walking around the workshop looking at the creations already made, careful with where and what he touched in case... Perhaps Okashi would have to get Ningen to design something to stop Takeo from drinking all the time... Looking over, Okashi took a small step back when Ningen summoned Blu, always finding the technology amazing. "Im sure we can find someone to help get what you need... I know someone good with earth magic... And im sure Rex would be more then happy to help out... Just so you know though, I don't know what a thirteen gold looks like..." Okashi may not know what Ningen actually needed, or what it looked like... But he could tell he loved what he did and the more materials he had at his disposal, the more he could make.

Ningen didn't realise half of the time that what he said went straight through most people. He researched a lot of old things that Angels these day couldn't even read, let alone be bothered to understand. The simple mechanics and magic they took for granted, Ningen knew inside out, and loved talking as technically as he could about them. Ningen smiled, a spark in his eye. "It's not just making the things float, Mr. Okashi. Your magic is very complex, it doesn't consume and reflect visible light like most. It can be seen by the naked eye, invisible, and yet it uses the energy not used for colour to help bend laws that should be impossible to break." Ningen replied. He saw all magic as a lot more than their owners probably did, and he adored each magic with an eye that saw ideas in everything. Okashi's magic, for example, Ningen could think of numerous uses for it. In fact observing and copying someone else's magic was the very core of most of Ningen's work. He would copy the matrix and natural formula of a magic and add it to a piece of machinery. "I am always open for help, though I don't really ask for it myself... It comes with the whole, never leaving my workshop thing." Ningen added, smiling a little. Usually Ikiru and Kaku were enough help, both having their ways around getting certain 'limited' supplies for the younger Angel. But more help wasn't something the mechanic was against, he just never asked. He nodded when Okashi didn't know what the Gold was, and took that to mean he wanted to learn. Ningen pressed a few buttons, opening Blu up to another screen with a diagram. "Since Angels began creating things, they've relied almost solely on the metal, Gold. It comes in fourteen different varieties, all with different properties that lead to their use. From around Gold One to Gold Five, the metal is a shiny yellow, soft and malleable. Used almost only for accessories or simple things. From Gold Six to Twelve, the metal is darker, and is strong enough to forge into weapons. These Golds are all rather common to find in Aura. But Gold Thirteen and Fourteen, which appear almost black, are very rare, and very unique. They are unstable metals, likely to absorb and emit random amounts of magic, and are incredibly strong. Even a small drop of Gold Thirteen, for example, is enough to forge amour for a small airship. That's the Gold I need for my new project."
