Although he had no idea what was going on, Ikiru was sure something was up. His sister had returned up to Aura exhausted and shivering. Muttering things as she refused to speak. She sobbed in her sleep, and Ikiru felt sad for once as well. He hated to see his sister upset, but Dove refused to explain what was wrong. Ikiru only found out when he visited Shiro and hear workers gossiping around. So, Onrah God of Death had been killed. It added up to why Dove was so destroyed right now. She and the God of Death had worked together for many years, teaming up as they create the cycle of life and death around Sohul. And, after years of working together, Ikiru could remember the fond memories of Dove returning home with a smitten look on her face. They were, without official proof or any confirmation from either the Angel or Demon, a pair. But now it seemed Dove had been stripped of the chance to be with the flirtatious Demon, as the other was struck down. It had been a week since all of those events took place, and Dove had only left to do her duties, and then return to her room to continuous mourn. Ikiru didn't like mourning, he felt it was a sore way of remembering someone. He preferred to celebrate their existence, and wish them good luck in the next life. But, perhaps it was harder for someone who harboured such feelings for the one who died.
Ikiru didn't press too hard into his sister's feelings, instead leaving her be, apart from offering support every now and then. Today, the Angel was wandering around Shiro, quiet for this time. Events had shaken up a lot of people, and not many felt like working properly whilst the world below them was in such chaos. Ikiru knew a little of the details including Outlaws. He walked towards the courtyards, humming to himself as he tapped the pillars as he walked passed them, smiling to the busy servants. He then spotted someone in the yards, chuckling to himself. Jumping out of the window, Ikiru skipped merrily behind his good friend, before prodding his brown haired head with the end of his staff. "Ka-ka! How are you feeling, dear friend? I thought you'd died or something."

Physically, Kakushin was almost back to full health, thanks to the care of the Queen and other healing Angels. With the fresh Aura air in his lungs, Kakushin felt a lot more confident about walking around, and even to training in the courtyards. However, mentally, Kakushin was exhausting himself daily. It was all well that Hane was assisting the Angel by doing his job for him, but Kakushin couldn't help be haunted by every thought. What was going on in Sohul, how were the others, were they still alive? Kakushin could only sit up here, pacing as he drove himself mad with worrying. Training seemed to be the only way to keep his mind busy, and it was an issue Kaku needed to overcome. Why Exitium had to handicap Kaku's right hand was something the Angel hated. Sure, do whatever he wanted to the left, but Kakushin always favoured his right hand in a fight, and now it was a challenge to hold a sword with it being juggled around in the air. Sighing as his sword fell out of his hand and spiked into the floor once more, Kakushin took a break to stare up at the sky. He tried to picture happy things, the positive future that was almost impossible. Where Kakushin and Rurushu were free, along with all of their friends, no need to hide how they felt away. Where the world was in a peace Kakushin didn't need to try and force upon it.
He almost gave in to daydreaming right there on the spot, before feeling something hard hit his head. Flinching, Kaku turned around with a smirk. He knew that voice, and naturally felt inclined to make sure a bucket of paint wasn't going to be dropped on his head. Smiling softly, Kakushin brought Ikiru into a hug, wanting any form of friendship right now. "There's no way this world's going to be rid of me yet, I refuse to disappear until everyone's safe." Kakushin replied rather seriously. Then he chuckled, glancing down to his sword. "But, right now I need to learn how to hold stuff again, before I can do any saving."

Ikiru thought it was a job well done on his part that the Guardian naturally assumed every meeting with the happy Angel would result in being tricked. And the memories of the Jiko-Jiko fun was a good thought as well, as Ikiru chuckled. He didn't expect a hug to come from Kakushin, but perhaps all the Angel wanted was company right now, and although they weren't the closest, Ikiru did consider Kakushin and himself good friends. Chuckling at his friends seriousness, Ikiru returned it with a much less than serious grin. "Ka-ka the hero then? That's a big responsibility, make sure you take a break mister busy." Ikiru replied, leaning on the Guardians shoulder. Following Kaku's gaze down to his sword, Ikiru didn't dare pick it up, knowing full well that him holding a weapon for even a second always ended badly for someone else. Instead, the Angel wondered on what Kakushin meant, before seeing his wounded hand.
"Well that's a problem..." Ikiru commented, smirking to Kakushin, "Does this mean while you can't hold your sword, I'm just as strong as you?" Winking, Ikiru skipped in a circle around Kaku, before stopping to gaze up at the sky. "We all have our own problems, but I know of all people, you can overcome them right? So make sure your ready for this 'saving'. Wouldn't want to see you become the victim rather than the hero, right Ka-ka?"

Kakushin went a little pale as Ikiru brought up the strength idea. Of course Kakushin could still easily overpower his friend, he could see why it might seem like Ikiru was teasing him. Part of it was true, whilst Kakushin was still not used to being nine-fingered, he was near useless with his sword. Sighing, Kakushin clenched his fists, picking his sword up to place it in it's sheath, for now sword practise could wait. Ikiru was just as commonly injured as Kaku was, and so training with a sharp weapon whilst the happy Angel was skipping around wasn't the best idea. It felt weird of all people to hear Ikiru give Kakushin advice on resting. Almost everyone had told Kaku to do so, so much so that the Angel was a little sick of hearing those words. But Ikiru wasn't much of a 'take it easy' guy himself, and so Kakushin was curious at to why someone like him seemed so concerned. "I know, I know. You and everyone in Aura has been telling me to do that. And you say we've all got problems, you have something on your mind too, Ikiru?" Kakushin asked, smiling to his friend. It wasn't like Ikiru to be down about anything, so if there was something troubling him, it must be something big. Kakushin had to admit, it was nice to hear positive feedback. Although everyone was all for supporting him, Kakushin couldn't help but bring himself down. Worry made him feel weaker, and his failure at training only made the Angel feel more and more useless. All he wanted was for all of this fear to leave, for once in his life, the Angel didn't want to be made weak by worry. And so hearing someone reassure him, no matter the amount, always helped Kaku.

Ikiru chuckled lightly, hands in the pockets of his coat. "Oh no, not on my mind per say... but I like to say I choose to share the problems of others. My sister for example..." Ikiru replied, looking up to the lovely blue sky. "She's is a mess right now because her love was killed... Oh," Ikiru looked down to see Kakushin turn a new shade of pale, "Sorry, did I hit something sore? That's right... you have someone you care about whose in trouble right now, huh?" Ikiru asked. He didn't wait long for an answer before wrapping the Guardian up in his arms, giggling softly. He patted Kaku's head, before pulling away and giving the man a wink. "I think all of this worry causes for some sort of distraction, don't you think?" Ikiru asked, before grabbing Kakushin's hand and forcing the Angel to follow him.
Next thing, the pair were in an unoccupied kitchen, Ikiru sieve around until he found what he was looking for. Ikiru placed the items on the table, before smirking to Kakushin. "My sister would always say, the best way to forget about your worries is to have a friendly competition... sooooo." Ikiru picked up one of the brown, bulb vegetables. "First one to eat a whole onion wins, and I know you don't want to lose to an Angel like me... so bring it on Ka-ka!"

Kakushin knew it didn't sound right for Ikiru to be down about anything. No, the Angel never held any worries in his heart, only sharing others to help them recover. It was a nice quality of Ikiru. He didn't know pain himself, but knew how to help others cope with theirs, and did so with an expertise that should be cherished. Kakushin felt himself being hit with an invisible wall when Ikiru mentioned his sister losing the one she loved. It made the Guardian go pale, and almost made him return to the hole in his mind to hide away and dread the future. But then Ikiru apologised for saying anything, wrapping Kakushin in a hug before proposing a way to keep Kaku's mind off it. Kakushin didn't really want to think of anything else but considering if Rurushu was still alive or not, but he knew if he dealt anymore days being mute and dying inside, Kakushin would go mad. And, Ikiru had a way to encourage anyone to follow him, so Kaku felt inclined to do as Ikiru suggested. Smiling, and holding his emotions down, Kakushin followed the jolly man towards a nearest empty kitchen.
Most of Shiro was empty right now, residence were busy preparing for the worst of events than to actually do work. So an empty room was easy to come by. Kakushin leant on the side of a tabletop as Ikiru rummaged around for what he wanted, before emerging with two onions. Kakushin frowned to him at first, scoffing as he couldn't take the Angel seriously. But Ikiru had determination in his eyes as he presented Kaku with the challenge. Sighing, the Guardian hopped down and collected his root vegetable. Eyeing it up with a grimace, Kakushin was dreading this before it had even began, but knew he couldn't lose to Ikiru. So, Kakushin took the first bite, and Ikiru soon after. It was like trying to eat lava, every mouthful was just pain and burn. Kakushin had to take a breath half way through, turning his back to Ikiru, composing himself for the rest of the climb. Never he believed that an onion eating contest could be this intense. But, Kakushin held onto his pride, finishing his before turning to Ikiru to claim victory, tears rolling down his sickly pale face.

Ikiru knew Kakushin never backed out of a challenge, and had a real winner complex going on. He hated to lose, and was determined to win no matter what the competition was. And so Ikiru simply stood there watching Kakushin eat the life out of his onion, holding his own in his hand as he enjoyed the show. Every now and then Ikiru had to take a bite to make it look convincing, but other than that he simply watched the crazy Angel eat a whole onion whilst under the idea that this was a race. Once Kaku had turned around, bawling his eyes out like some child, but smiling with victory, Ikiru clapped his hand against his barely touched onion. "Well done Ka-ka, it seems you've won the award for the most gullible Angel." Ikiru jested, giving Kakushin a wink before setting down his vegetable and getting ready to run. It had been a while since Ikiru got to fool someone, most of the time, Hisan had to do the job of entertaining the easily bored Angel. But now that Ikiru knew Kaku was around to tease, it would make the days without his cute Demon friend easier to manage. Jumping back to make sure Kakushin couldn't let any steam out on him, Ikiru ran around the kitchen, hand on his chin. "I think we can find another competition to do somewhere in here..."

Kakushin stood frozen, mouth feeling like it was foaming up as he stared at the perfectly fine Ikiru, with his hardly touched onion. He tried swallowing, but it was all acidic and only made Kaku's eyes water like crazy. Ikiru was quick to tease him and run, hopping to safety at the other end of the kitchen. Kakushin glance to the door. Ikiru could run all he liked, so long as Kakushin remained blocking the door, there would be no where to run. Kaku must look like some sort of savage, insane Angel. He sure as hell felt like it. Face steaming up as his blood red eyes continued to water, mouth foaming as well. He made a dash for Ikiru, but the younger Angel was a little weasel, easily keeping himself safe from Kakushin. Ikiru was looking around for another game to play on Kaku, and so the Angel took a moment to try and wash out the awful taste. He went towards the sink, taking a few gulps of water, as well as spitting out all of the onion remains he could. Wiping his face, Kakushin managed to open a drawer above him slightly. There was a small pouch of something resting near the edge of the cupboard. It was in a red foil pouch, and Kakushin knew from the picture on the front just what kind of flavour it had. He took it in his hand quietly, holding it tucked into his sleeve as he walked nonchalantly after Ikiru. He pretended to look in some other draws on the way, before sighing. "I think this room's being cleared out, probably why it's so quiet around here." Kakushin stated, shrugging to Ikiru. Kaku blinked, and his eyes turned gold. A pointless use of magic in some sense, but Kaku thought it was necessary. Turning on Light Speed, Kaku quickly took a grab of Ikiru's scruff, pushing him down onto the table behind them. Quickly, Kaku lifted his other hand, and squeezed the contents of the food pouch right into Ikiru's mouth. Once emptied, Kaku slowed himself down, deactivating his magic and smirking down at Ikiru, just waiting for the effects to kick in. The pouch had a little symbol of fire on the side, and was labelled 'Phoenix Food'. The fire birds only ate the hottest food imaginable, to keep their molten stomach satisfied, and so their food was considered one of the spiciest concoctions of all Angelic foods. Kakushin gently let Ikiru go, chuckling in success. "I'm sorry, but sometimes the gullible have to strike back."
