Cold, colourless snow around every corner of Sohul. The winter season didn't last long, but it felt like it did some years. This year, Kakushin believed, would have a seemingly endless winter. Because he was forced to wear a silly, too big hat and drag around a sack full of gift boxes for those who managed to ruin his day by soaking him in paint. Sometimes, Kaku really hated the King and Queen. They claimed that the years of pranks were behind them, and yet around every corner the Guardian found himself being surprised, and not in a good way. First it was week long periods of training, forced spying on Outlaws, and now banishment from Aura for a month. Kakushin could do with a break, and being announced as the Angel Jiko was supposedly the Queen's way of granting Kaku that break. The festival was meant to be all fun, so apart from running for the sake of his dignity, Kaku was given a break from creating peace. It would be better without the stupid, thick clothing and dumb hat.
Rycora was the spot for the first day of Jiko, almost like Kaku had made a strategic plan to avoid as many teams as possible. But the main spot for teams to meet was in Baransu, so the dense forest was a safe zone for now. Kaku could always go to his secret place, but he would feel a little guilty for removing the chance for others to get gifts completely. He'd just play hard to get, not impossible to get. Kakushin crunched through the thick snow, throwing the sack around his back as he walked. This was going to be his entire month, walking and sometimes running. Most years, the Jikos were barely given trouble, since the competitive nature of the teams kept them occupied trying to fight one another than to pay any attention to the two funny looking targets. So perhaps Kaku could actually take a break like he was supposed to. He had no idea what the teams were, nor the other Jiko, so all was in great anticipation right now. Kakushin tried not to worry about it, he was the strongest Guardian, or at least by his teachers opinion, so no matter who was taking part, they'd have a hard time catching Kaku this year. Kaku took a break by a tree, dropping the sack in front of him to occupy his mind by counting the coloured boxes.

Rurushu was far from amused. He would have thought being a Outlaw would stop the King and Queen from giving him role of Jiko... But apparently not, they wished to punish him more by giving him a sack of gifts and a stupid hat... He wasn't exactly wanting to be hit with paint, and his dear, loving sister knew all of his hiding places, so the second she finds out he's Jiko.. Say bye to solitude and hello to paint. God he hated this holiday, well, hated being the Jiko. The only good thing about this was the fact he wasn't the only one, so if he managed to find the other Jiko... Perhaps he could push them in the way and make his escape. Ru was tempted to go to a place that he knew only one could find him... But under strict orders he was to stay where one could find him. There was no escaping this. Ru decided to first hide out in Rycora, finding the most thickest and biggest tree, as to hide out at the top... Maybe then many will struggle to find him. Though, Ru had to admit he was curious as to the teams and other Jiko, so he might, but only might head out to find the teams and see. Mainly he was wondering who Kaku was teamed with, and if Chester got Akvan, because he knew that would just make this holiday for her. Rurushu kicked some of the snow out his way, dragging the sack of gifts behind him... Maybe he could just ditch the hat and gifts for the teams to find... No, that would just lead to a worst punishment from their majesties... "AHH, I HATE THIS STUPID HOLIDAY..."

Kakushin picked up random boxes, shaking to hear what was inside before putting them back. He hummed a tune, because he didn't dare 'sing' and give away his position, and he didn't quite remember the song. It was a festive song, about what the paint represented or something silly. Kakushin only enjoyed to hum a happy tune to keep his mind off of what was going on. He often wondered if it ever hurt the previous Jikos to have paint hauled at them, and didn't fancy the idea that he'd soon find out. Kaku wondered about who exactly would be taking part. He was only given a quick run down of what to expect before being kicked out of Aura with hat and sack in hand. Outlaws were apparently still allowed to take part. Kakushin thought this was nice, for many reasons of his own. It meant they could still feel a part of something, perhaps boost their faith in those still in the clouds, and it meant that Kaku could show off in front of Rurushu, should the Demon choose to fight the Jiko for his gifts. It would be entertaining to fight back, and there were no rules saying a Jiko couldn't resist the paint.
Kaku giggled, before going quiet as the sound was carried through the forest. In thick snow like this, no noise was lost. Kaku recognised the voice, grinning to himself. He tied the sack back up, and threw it over his back. Creeping forwards, Kaku took cover behind some balls of snow that were once bushes. He almost couldn't believe what Rurushu wore. The colourful clothing and stupid hat. No doubt, it seemed the idea of involving Outlaws had extended further. Now they were even being nominated for Jikos. Kaku was surprised, and well as glad. Of all of the team-mates to have, Rurushu would for obvious reasons be Kaku's choice. The Angel kept his voice silent, slowly gathering snow into his hand and cupping it into a ball. A swift movement, and Kaku threw the snowball with all of his might at Ru's head. Appearing from the bushes as he did. "That could have been paint." Kaku stated after the attack, grinning.

Rurushu was pacing around in anger, still not wanting to believe that he was one of these stupid Jiko's. He swears too it that paint wont even hit his body... If they manage to find him, but he most certainly wont allow that to happen. But he froze when the snowball hit the back of his head, sending a few pieces down his back, giving him a slight shiver... God if that was paint.. Someone was going to see why he was an Outlaw... Turning around, Ru smiled at the familiar sight, before laughing at what his love was wearing- even if he was in the same get up- out of everyone to have on his team... Kaku was definitely the one he wanted most and least... Most because it'll make things more fun for him, and least because he will feel bad if he pushes his love in the way of paint splatter... But, oh well. Not even speaking, Ru moved to the ground and created his own snowball... Two could play this game. Throwing the snowball at Kaku's face, with inhuman speed, Ru just grinned back. "You know I wont hesitate to push you in front of any paint splatter aimed at us right?"

Kakushin laughed out loud to get a full look of Rurushu. Well, if he looked anything like Rurushu did, then at least they'd look stupid together. This could work well, and also work against them. To think, the pair of Jikos would probably stick together, and for once Kakushin had a good excuse to be seen with Rurushu. This was an entire month of games, and it made the small four days of peace they'd shared seem so small. The Angel didn't expect the snowball being thrown back, too lost in thought. He slammed his eyes shut as the force of the snow, face tingling from the chill. Wiping his face, Kakushin gave the Demon a friendly, if revengeful smile. "You'll have to fight me for shield rights, partner." Kakushin replied, scooping up more snow. He dropping his sack to the side, catapulting a snowy cannonball towards that pretty face currently grinning at him.

Ru threw his head back and laughed when the snowball hit Kaku, it was what he was aiming for after all. Maybe this next month wouldn't be so bad, and who knows, maybe Ru will actually enjoy himself... Rather than wallow in self pity about being chosen as the Jiko. Knowing he was spending a month with Kaku, regardless on why, with no worries about why... It was too much to believe. Rurushu smiled his most predatory smile, before gathering up his own snowball... Now this would be fun. "Hey! I already called dibs on shield rights, Kaku." Ducking as the snowball was aimed at him, Ru sent his own flying back, gifts and anger forgotten. Gathering up yet another snowball, Ru chuckled to himself over how their fights had resorted to throwing snowballs at each other, rather than trying to end one another's life with swords.

Kaku wasn't the best aim, his strong suit was with closer combat, so his snowballs were thrown without much thought on their landing. Kaku dodged one of Rurushu's shots, at least he could dodge well enough. Kaku's face dropped with a fake sense of anger. "You can just dib a meat shield Demon Jiko, and I'm a pretty temperamental shield, who knows if I'll run off and leave you coated in the stuff." Kaku replied, boosting up his supplies of snowballs. For every one thrown at him, Kaku returned it with strength. He grinned, dodging with ease from the snowballs. "I'm glad you're a Jiko, Ruru, you'd never hit anything with that kind of throw." Kaku commented, leaping to the side before regretting his direction. His shoulder bumped into a tree, and although Kakushin dodged the snowball, the tree seemed to have it's own trick. The small hit to the tree trunk, and Kakushin felt a cloud of snow fall on his head, covering him completely.

Ru began to throw and dodge snowballs back... Of course he had terrible aim, his forte was sword fighting... He's never had to throw something in his life, he either has no need or no time.. That and snowball fights aren't exactly something an Outlawed Demon does on a regular basis. "Too bad Angel Jiko. Im an Outlaw, I can dib anything I want... And don't think your leaving me to face the hoard myself. I know all the best hiding spots." Smiling to Kaku, Ru also sent him a glare... "I may have terrible aim, but im the one who comes up with the best plans, and know peoples movements." Rurushu threw yet another snowball, wincing as Kaku hit into the tree... Before almost falling to the ground in laughter, watching his love turn into a snow angel... Heading over, keeping one snowball behind his back, Ru brought the other into a hug. "I always wanted my own snow Angel..." and with that, Ru grinned at the snow covered Kaku, and shoved the snowball underneath the others shirt. "Just needs a little more snow though, don't cha think..?"

Kakushin knew you couldn't choke on snow, but he sure as hell tried. The shock of the pound of snow falling on him made the Angel jump, if he could under the snow. He managed to scoop enough snow out of the way to poke his head through the top, ridiculous hat pulled down over his eyes. God Kaku was cold right now, soaking with snow that fell down uncomfortable places. He pushed around a bit more, before Rurushu came over. The Angel didn't resist the hug, Ru was warm on a normal day, so Kaku would be mad to refuse a warm embrace when he was coated in sticky snow. "Maybe we could just cover ourselves in snow and hide- OH THAT'S COLD!" One place Kaku wasn't frozen, and the Demon decided to stuff a snowball next to it. Kaku's whole body shivered massively with the chilling sensation on his stomach. The Angel winced, before going straight to finding revenge. Scooping up some of the deep snow, Kakushin went to stuff it down the back of Ru's neck.

Ru chuckled as well as he could before Kaku extracted his revenge... He had to admit, that snow was cold on the bare skin, and Ru could feel himself shaking from it... But he guessed he asked for it... But, if they were to get covered in snow, Ru sure as hell wasn't going down without a fight. Tightening his grip on Kaku, Ru allowed himself to fall backwards, taking Kaku with him... Once his back hit the ground, he switched the positions so Kaku was laying in the snow, unable to escape. Looking down at the Guardian, Ru chuckled and grabbed a handful of snow, before once more stuffing it under his shirt, and going back to collect more. "You really want to fight a demon? We don't play fair, and I refuse to lose..." Smiling down to Kaku, Ru stuffed the second lot of snow under the others shirt, making sure his hands were securely bound under his to ensure no counter attack. "I didn't hurt you with that fall did I?" Ru had to check, him taking the worst of the fall was for the reason that he knew it would be painful a little at first, and he didn't want to hurt the other.

Being pulled to the ground was impossible to avoid, there was no grip on the slippery snow, so Kakushin could stop himself and Ru from falling like a tree. It knocked the wind out of him, and Kakushin wasn't given the opportunity to catch his breath before it was filled with giggles. The snow piling on his stomach was freezing, but it kind of tickled, and if his arms weren't bound Kakushin would be clenching his stomach. The short moment Rurushu spoke was hardly enough to breath again, since it was followed by more snow. When Rurushu finally stopped, Kaku slowly calmed down, chuckling every now and then as he heaved in breaths of air. "C-c-can't b-b-breath," Kakushin managed to make out from his shivering chest, "d-d-damn you D-d-demon." Kakushin clenched his teeth, smiling still through the chill. He struggled, trying to force Rurushu to release his hands. "I-I'm n-not losing either R-r-ruru!"

Ru chuckled at the Guardian and leaned down to kiss him before wiping away the snow on the others body. Pulling Kaku to his chest, now the snow was gone, Ru began to rub small circles on the others back to help warm him up... He felt a little guilty for causing the other to shiver, but still found it funny what he did, that and the other was smiling, so it couldn't be all bad. "Well we will just see when the hoards gather, wont we, Kaku." Pulling Kaku in tighter, he places small kisses on the others neck... The first few days would be the only ones they could really do this in the open, if anyone was to catch them later on... Ru would hate to think about what would happen.

Being so cold, something so simple as a kiss was warming beyond belief, and Kakushin relaxed as the soft touch. He wrapped around Rurushu tight, refusing to let go of his warm love in the hug. Strange how one moment the Demon was suffocating Kaku with freezing snow, and now he was seemingly apologising for the torture. "Y-you know... If I don't get r-revenge now, I will later, Ruru, no matter what kind of trouble we're in." Kakushin stated, teeth chattering as he buried himself into Ru's side, where it was warmer. Kaku sighed happily, looking around the void of snow around them. At any point, paint wielding mad men could be chasing them down, and yet here they were messing around, trying to take that very reality off their minds. "I can only hope we can get at least one day of peace before they find us. I know for a fact that Neko will be helping any team he finds, telling them where I could be hiding. The damn cat has been waiting years for me to be Jiko... I should have put a leash on him before he ran off." Kakushin spoke, voice muffled from Ru's thick clothing.

Ru chuckled and brought Kaku in closer. No longer caring if hoards of competition driving maniacs were out to splatter them. All Ru cared about right now was helping Kaku to warm up. "Yeah, I know. I damn well am going to do all in my power to put it off though." Ru thought to Neko at the mention of the cat, but could feel no sympathy for Kaku in this respect, Chester would be doing the same to him after all. "Knowing Chester, she would have figured out im not around the newly appointed teams... So we have, I would say, less than a day to hide some place before she finds us... She's physically Neko in female human form for me...... Gods forbid if Neko turns up to help her, especially if he knows your also a Jiko..." Ru could honestly admit he was frightened of that thought... If Chester was quick to find out both himself and Kaku were the Jiko's... Neither would be safe... "Well... I don't think we will get away with going paint less for the month... Pointing those facts out loud."

Kakushin could just imagine the trouble he could save if Neko was anything close to a loyal, obeying companion. Kaku could order the cat to pretend to be the Angel just to get some peace for a moment, or have Neko on spy duty to alert Kakushin of any nearby teams. But no, Kaku was stuck with a rebellious friend who only acted kind on rare occasions and loved to feast on the Angel's suffering. Kaku supposed Rurushu would have been in the same boat with Chester, since she and Neko shared a lot in common. The Angel giggled, eyes closed. "I suppose we have at least a day before those two find each other, and then our secrets out, and everyone will know the poor souls forced to wear dumb hats and give out presents..." Kakushin sighed, "And then it's nothing but paint and running."
It sucked to know that they wouldn't be able to avoid the paint. There were so many teams, some trained especially for this one month of hunting. And it wasn't like Kakushin and Rurushu could hide either, the Jiko outfit was literally made so that the present-holders could be found easily. "We could just go and hide out there you know."
