Ari hated being away from home for so long, away from Mizetto and her kids... It was the worst feeling in the world for her, and every moment away tugged on her heart in the wrong ways. But it couldn't be helped with the war, the Angels near extinct, and all needing to pull in their effort to help those remaining alive, and fight this war very few wanted. It was easier working with her fathers, and admittedly, her old friend, well human friend Gash that's she's reconnected with... The former happily fighting where they could side by side, and the latter insufferable, but great with plans and schemes when combined with what Yume could do. But with that, they spent most time at the Taiyo Clan, their base of operations, and Ari was gone for weeks on end at some point helping with things, she would travel home as often as she could, but it was never for long... Her ice magic playing a huge part in the fight. However, for the next week, she would be home free, Yume finally letting her take a week off as the crazy dream maker had her own desire to carryout. And with no other commitments to the effort, she was able to get much needed family time. Smiling at the familiar look to her home, Ari was quick to push her way inside, shutting the door behind her, resting against it and breathing in deep, the familiar smell of home over filling her senses. Not spotting anyone down stairs, Ari took another deep breath. "Mizetto, you in? I finally got some time to myself and I would love to spend it with my beloved family..."

Mizetto found himself staring at the ceiling again, head resting on his hand as he simply thought, watching time pass. Mizetto couldn't give a care about this war, only for what was in front of him. He cared about Ari, what the events leading up to the war meant to her. Mizetto had tried his hardest to be there for her when news got to them about Aura, making sure his love didn't do anything too rash, which was rare coming from someone like the Demon. But he wanted her safe, and their kids safe. Terra and Glacie didn't spend too long outside right now. Their wings and tails were appearing now, features that would give the Nephalems away if they were spotted by Humans. It all seemed stressful, and then Ari decided to go and spend almost all of her time fighting. With other Angels and guys Mizetto didn't know, it was like she was getting more and more distant, and Zetto would hate, at a time like this, to hear of the worst. "Oi, daddy, you're spacin' out again." Terra commented, the cheeky little miss glaring up at her dad. Mizetto blinked a few times, turning to look at Terra. She and Glacie were growing as quick as ever, the Nightmares had made them mature far too early, but Mizetto couldn't help but be proud each time he looked at his two girls. "Heh, so I was. What... what were we doin' again?" Mizetto asked, and Terra rolled her one eye, glancing to Glacie. "Playin' a game, dummy. It's your go!" Terra barked, and Mizetto looked down to the hand-made board game with a chuckle. He went to concentrate, until Glacie spoke. "Daddy, where's Clue gone, and... when's Mummy coming back?" The quiet girl asked. Mizetto hid his sour emotions, leaning over to give Glacie's hair a comforting ruffle. "Clue went out to get food, and mummy is away for a bit, she'll be back soon, alright?" Mizetto stated, before hearing the door. His heart lifted as he heard her voice, dropping a little as he remember just how long she'd been gone. But, for the kids, Mizetto put on a big smile, getting them both excited. "See? Told you she'd be back, now go tackle her." Mizetto said to the two girls, watching them both get up and rush to the door, all giggly and talkative to see their mum back.

No sooner then when she called out did Ari hear the ruffling off feet and giggles from upstairs, and less then a blink after that did Ari feel herself drop to the floor in a tackle. Laughing as she hugged her girls tight, realising exactly how much she missed this, Ari gave both a kiss to the top of their heads, tears coming from her eyes. "Hey babies, how are my precious little girls... Mummy's missed you guys so, so much. Mummy loves you both very much... Your grandpa's send their love too." It was lovely feeling their warmth and just hold them close, each day she feared that Mizetto, Clue and her girls would get hurt with this war, it was part of the reason she fought so hard, so that she didn't lose them. "Missed you too mummy." "Yeah, love you lots and lots... Daddy's missed you too..." Ari smiled at her girls before thoughts moved to Mizetto, she knew being gone so long wasn't fair on him, and she hated that she was doing this to the one she loved, even if he didn't complain out loud... But she did need to help with this war, her race relied on what she could do, as did so many others. Giving her girls a kiss on the cheek each, Ari looked to them both. "Where is you daddy? I need to give some of my cuddles to him as well."

Fighting in the war was the last thing Mizetto wanted to do. Sure, he did care for the races out there, the idea of Angels and Demons being picked off for no reason did get Mizetto mad. But, they weren't his family, his family was right here. And Mizetto wasn't going to leave them, or risk leaving them for good should the worst happen. He'd expected Ari to think the same, which made Mizetto even more shocked when she went off to fight. But, he couldn't, and wouldn't question her. It wasn't his race that was almost extinct, yet again. So he couldn't imagine what she was going through. But, what Mizetto could imagine, was what the girls were going through, seeing through their father's white lies and worrying about what their mother was really doing. Mizetto remained upstairs until the girls had their fuss, and Ari mentioned him. "Daddy is upstairs sulkin' because he's a big grump and sucks at games." Terra stated, just as Mizetto turned up at the bottom of the stairs. He tugged a little on the golden girl's tail. "Oi, I wasn't sulkin'." Mizetto replied, all in jest as he smiled to his daughter. Mizetto's gaze lifted to Ari's, simply staring quietly at her for a moment, before closing the distance between them, pulling Ari close. "It's good to see you." Mizetto said simply, moving to kiss Ari. Terra seemed content in standing and staring, but at least smart little Glacie got the hint to give their parents a minute, pulling on Terra's hood until she was looking away as well.
Mizetto gave Ari a smile, reassuring her that any sort of grief he had to get off of his chest could wait. "They've been askin' and askin' where their mummy's been." Mizetto commented, leaving it to Ari now to explain in the best way for the kids to understand what was going on. Mizetto had been vague himself, but knew his word was beginning to wear thin on the girls as reassurance.

Ari chuckled, it didn't surprise her that Mizetto was sulking, be it real or fake. Especially when it came to their daughters, if someone once told her Mizetto was going to be such a great father, she would have laughed at them, but everyday he proved to her that he was the greatest there was, excluding her own father of course, but that's a given. "I'm sure you weren't babe." Giving him a little smirk, and a wink to Terra, Ari stood quietly as Mizetto studies her, terrified that he was unhappy with her for a moment, before smiling into the kiss and deepening it, realising exactly what she was missing when away. "I missed you so much too, and still love you just as much." That's something that wouldn't change anytime soon, or ever if she got her way. Letting her shoulders drop a bit, Ari got to her knees and brought the girls close, stroking both their cheeks and leaving a kiss on their foreheads. "I don't have much of an excuse as to why I'm gone for so long at a time... And the two of you are so grown up that I'm not going to give you one anyways. But there's bad people out there, and mummy needs to help take care of them, to make sure that these bad people cant come and hurt either of you or your daddy, because mummy wont be able to handle that. Its not an easy task though, and that's why mummy is away for so long, in a place that I cannot say, for your own safety. I'm sorry baby girls, I don't mean to be gone, and I hate every moment away from you all." Though what Ari said was the truth, it was very much so sugar coating it... Because despite how grown up their girls were, they were still her babies, and she didn't want to hurt them too much. Ari did give a glance up to Mizetto, hoping that he also understood she didn't want to be gone, and why she was doing this.

Mizetto wished kissing Ari didn't feel so rare like it did now. It was a hard truth that Mizetto had missed her far too much, so much that the egotistical Demon was starting to simply let blame fall onto Ari herself for leaving. The blame was gone, for now, as Mizetto got to see her again, and he let a natural smile lift his face this time. He remained standing as Ari addressed the girls, he wasn't going to take on a job to explain to them what was going on when Ari could do a better job at it. Mizetto watched Ari, and mostly Glacie and Terra's expressions as they heard what was going on. Terra seemed to perk up first, "So mummy's kickin' bad people's asses right?" Terra asked, and Mizetto felt his face heat up. Damn, that was a word he'd hoped his daughter would simply forget he'd ever said in front of her. And it wasn't the only piece of language the girls heard their rather tastefully tongued father say accidentally from time to time. "Terra, daddy made us promise not to say those words, remember?" Glacie muttered loudly to her sister, to which Terra made a cheeky grin. Mizetto mirrored the grin towards Ari, brushing his neck awkwardly. "It's fine Terra, just know this means no puddin' tonight after tea, right?" Mizetto replied, reminding the little miss of their deal. Terra's grin turned into a pout, the little girl folding her arms together. Mizetto smiled warmly, looking to Ari now. She must know it hurt him that she'd left him to look after the girls alone for such long periods of time, but he'd let it slide for a little while. "So we know now that mummy's away doin' important stuff. Anythin' to say about it?" Mizetto asked, knowing his girls by now, and making sure they got their chance to talk. "Yeah! When can we join in?" Terra blurted out first.

Ari wanted to laugh at Terra's response, but the use of such language made her pause... Though Ari had no right to tell her daughter off for using it, knowing once upon a time, Ari was the same, but it was a wonder how she came to know that word, though she had a pretty good guess... Especially after Glacie's reply, and Mizetto's expression. Grinning up to Mizetto, eyebrow raised, Ari could tell that anything he said was accidental, and that punishment was set in place. "I see daddy has been teaching you naughty words..." Chuckling slightly, Ari leant next to Terra's ear, whispering so that only her daughter could hear. "Mummy used those words when she was your age, don't tell daddy, but ill sneak you something later." Putting a finger to her lips as Terra began to giggle, Ari stood once more and leant on Mizetto's shoulder, smiling softly. She knew being away so long probably hurt them all in different ways, but she hoped that she could fix that, talk Yume into letting her take leave off more often. "Mummy is out as you so put it, 'kicking peoples asses.' But its dangerous, and I would rather not put you guys in that danger, its the whole reason I'm fighting, to keep all of you safe. But I do need you to stay here and protect your daddy and sister for me Terra, and Clue, that includes you too Glacie, if your up for the challenge. You know your daddy can be a scatter brain at times." Smirking to Mizetto and squeezing his cheek a little to add to the joke, Ari hoped to keep so sort of normality before having to leave once more.

Mizetto huffed, "It ain't teachin' if you accidentally come out with it an' they just don't forget." Mizetto replied quickly, sticking his tongue out at Terra, who mirrored her father well with her own mocking expression. Ari's talk with the girls, getting back into the old friendly and jesting swing of things made the Demon smile a little more. It was nice to see things looking normal again, like they'd been before this war a year ago. Mizetto knew his kids were tough, Nephalems naturally so. Zuura had told them stories of his own life, how many people he'd beaten and more when he was only a little one. Even so, and even if Mizetto considered them tough, he'd not let them anywhere near this war. He didn't want Ari near it, and she was proven to be able to handle things. Mizetto growled at Ari's jest, smiling a little. "Only from dealin' with these two little monsters all day." Mizetto replied quickly, winking to his daughters. "But yer mummy's right, I know you two are tough little tykes, and I'm countin' on you to help me keep this place safe, yeah?" Mizetto asked, and both girls nodded their heads quickly. Terra began to boast her strength, and Glacie added her own thoughts as well. Mizetto left the two to argue it out, turning to Ari. "You want anythin'? Drink or somethin' like that?"

Ari chuckled at the scene of teasing, for once it felt like nothing was a miss, despite the topic of conversation, and it was a much missed feeling, Ari gave a small look to Mizetto, giving him a wink. "I'm sure that was the case... Though it wouldn't surprise me you trying to teach them bad habits to get back at how I was at that age." It wouldn't surprise her, nor could she be angry, considering that once again, she was like that once... And these two took after both her and Mizetto so much, to the point where she feared how they would be in the future, nothing bad of course. Giving a smirk to Mizetto as he growled, she was glad she could still get under his skin with jests, it showed that things were still okay between them. "You and I know both know you were a scatter brain before the two little tykes turned up, and its only gotten worse since they've been born." His scatter brain ways had always been endearing though, and she wouldn't change it for the world. Watching her children argue for a few seconds, Ari gave a shake of her head before looking to Mizetto, smiling softly. "Just a glass of water, but let me get it, and you something if you wish... Its the least I can do after so long... Let me wait on you while I'm back, daddy of the year deserves it..." Giving Mizetto a kiss, Ari looked back at her daughters, shaking her head and smiling softly. "Hey tweedles! Either of you want something from the kitchen, preferably drink wise..." Ari knew how kids could be when being offered something from the kitchen... Food was always top of the agenda.

Thinking on how the two girls were a combination of Ari and Mizetto when they were the same age, perhaps the two terrors were even worse. Well, one of them was. Glacie was well mannered to an extent that surprised everyone, but it was also appreciated greatly. He could see a lot of himself in Terra and in Glacie, as well as their mother. Mizetto scoffed. "You were the queen of bad habits. And I ain't tryin' to teach them. If anythin' the girls are learnin' how to be smart and polite, just like their daddy, right little ladies?" Mizetto replied, chuckling at the funny, scrunched up faces both girls gave him, before giggling amongst themselves. Mizetto continued to watch them both, giving Ari a friendly glare as she seemed convinced of Mizetto's 'scatter brain'. He was willing to go get anything Ari wanted, knowing she'd hard it harder than him or the girls. Looking after two little Nephalems was a war in itself, but nothing compared to watch the Demon imagined outside was like. But, Mizetto wasn't going to argue, knowing how he was, he'd lead it into a serious one about how frustrated Mizetto really was about Ari leaving. So, returning the kiss and nodding simply, he let the Angel have her way. Although, his smile wavered a little when Ari mentioned 'while' she was back. It meant she was planning on leaving for a long time again, spending time with others and creeps when she should only need him and the kids. Mizetto shook his head slightly, trying to clear it from the irritated thoughts. "Could I have a drink of water mummy, please?" Glacie asked sweetly, even raising her hand. Terra practically jumped into the air with her hand up. "I'll have a hundred glasses of milk please!" Terra asked with childish over-exaggeration. Mizetto shook his head, knelling down to playfully poke Terra's stomach. "That's a few too many glasses little miss. Just think about all the shoppin' runs we'd have to make Clue do to get that much." Mizetto commented. Terra smirked, following her mum and sister towards the kitchen, Mizetto waiting a little before following behind. "Alright then, I'll have half a hundred glasses please!"

Ari looked to Mizetto and gave a little scoff. "Smart and polite." Seemed the girls had the right idea with their giggles, Ari wouldn't deny it, Mizetto was sweet and perfect for her, and he had his smarts, but politeness wasn't always in his vocabulary unless it was desperately needed, and he sounded so sincere. Now, Ari was glad Mizetto let her wait on them, it was the least they deserved, and she was going to spoil them all rotten this next week before leaving again, so that they knew she loved them, even when away. Smiling to Glacie, Ari knew that this politeness was some foreign language in this household, unless Okashi has given out lessons to those who asked, but she loved it all the same, glad that they weren't raising two completely lovable crazy children. Outright laughing at Terra's outburst, Ari shook her head as she headed into the kitchen to begin filling out the orders already given. "You little miss..." Ari looked to Terra with amusement. "Get one large glass of milk for Clue's shopping sake, and if your good, mummy will make a giant milky ice lolly for you later..." Handing the girls their glass's, Ari poured herself a glass of water, taking a sip before looking to Mizetto. "Still don't know if you want anything Mizetto..." Despite all the teasing a jokes, Ari knew there was something bubbling inside him, that she wouldn't hear about until the kids weren't around, so she was hoping to put off the inevitable as long as possible.

There were a lot of obsessions little Terra went through, mostly with food and drink. She'd eat the whole kitchen if cupboards weren't locked or too high for her to reach. Her love of milk was just something Terra was into. Perhaps she thought it would help her grow that little bit to be bigger than Glacie, or she just liked the taste. It might be surprising, and a little hypocritical, but Mizetto was actually the one to teach them manners. He'd love his daughters no matter what kind of personalities they had, but making them learn to say please at least for their childhood meant they'd grow up knowing what respect was, which even Mizetto knew a little bit when he was younger. Mizetto walked in after them, Glacie sitting nicely whilst Terra dragged her chair around before slumping down on it. Mizetto smiled with Ari's suggestion, how he could have used her help all this time dealing with their children. Sure, Mizetto was doing well as just a good father, knowing what to say to his kids to make them happy and behaved. But, he wasn't their mother, that was something only Ari could be. Watching silently as they all enjoyed the beverages, Terra practically breathing hers in, Mizetto eventually watched Ari. "Nah, I'm good." He replied simply, shrugging his shoulders a little. He glanced back to the front door, hoping Clue was doing alright out there getting supplies. The Wolvine was always fine, even during the war, but Mizetto still worried. He was getting quiet, knowing he wanted to talk to Ari more but not with the girls around. And he knew they'd want to be around their mummy for a while, so the Demon was silently at a loss of when to have his talk.

Ari gave a sad smile to Mizetto, "Clue will be fine, he's strong, and if anything did happen, we'll get him back easily." Finishing her drink and looking to her girls. She knew that they would want as much time with her as possible, but she could tell Mizetto needed to get something off his chest as well. And she knew whatever it was, couldn't be said with the girls around, it was just coming up with a way to get that talk as quickly as possible... Ari gave a little jump out of her thoughts from the voice of Glacie. "Thank you mummy." Giving a small smile to her, before picking up the glass, alongside Terra's now empty glass, Ari moved them onto the side for washing before looking back to her girls, plan in mind. "I have a plan." Giving a gentle look to Mizetto, Ari sat at the table with her babies before gesturing them in close. "I know its still early evening, I'm sure your daddy has let you guys stay up much later, but I think, if were going to fit in a family fun day tomorrow, consisting of indoor snow park, and all the milky lollies you can eat, you both, need an early night... So what do you say, I go tuck you two in for bed now, so that tomorrow you can stay up until you fall asleep on the stairs?"
Ari knew Terra was gone the moment Ari mentioned the unlimited milk lollies, and Glacie had always been one to know something's up, so Ari was sure she was quite willing. Ari gave a chuckle as Glacie gave a chuckle, and Terra said nothing besides fun little whoops as she run up to their room. Turning to Mizetto a moment as she followed, Ari gave a small smile. "I'll be back down in a moment, I love you..." Not waiting for a response, Ari followed the girls, laughing as both were changed in less then a few seconds, Terra happily bouncing on the bed, and Glacie folding her clothes. Tucking Terrain first to stop the hyperactive monkey, Ari cocooned her in blankets and left a kiss to the top of her head. "Its nice having you back mummy..." Ari just gave her a small smile. "Its nice to be back." Moving onto Glacie, Ari lifted the covers so it just covered her shoulders. "How long are you back for?" It sounded so quiet and broken the words, and it brought tears to Ari's eyes, knowing she was the cause. Stroking the hair out of her face, Ari looked to both her twins. "I'm not back for long, but I promise to try and get home more often then I have, I really have missed you both so much. Not a day went by when you didn't enter my thoughts." Kissing the top of Glacie's head, Ari left, sending a soft goodnight to both, before taking a breath to face the music. Heading downstairs again, Ari sought out Mizetto, giving him a small smile, knowing that this conversation may be less then satisfactory. "You have done brilliant with the girls, you are such an amazing father for them."

Ari with the second magic she seem to possess, that told her what Mizetto was thinking. Mizetto folded his arms together, glancing to Ari and then to the door. "I know, but when he's gone so long I can't help but worry." Mizetto muttered, holding back the urge to further hint at what he was really saying. He watched the girls after Ari explained to them a plan for tomorrow, a good enough one that got them both to leave. Glacie was usually easy-going and did as asked, but Mizetto was impressed with how fast Ari got Terra to run to her room and without one word from the little terror. Leaving room for Ari to leave and follow the girls, Mizetto remained in the kitchen, thinking on things alone and letting that warm smile put on before drop down. He had a number of things to say and get off of his chest, but it all made Mizetto sigh. He wished he didn't have to bring up reasons for holding a grudge against his Angel, but Mizetto needed to point out some things to Ari, for the girls sake, and for his own. Mizetto heard Ari come back down, shrugging his shoulders a little. "I try, an' they honestly make it easy. Well-behaved... at least partly, and sweet as hell. But, you've only seen them now. You've not seen what the past year's been like for them." Mizetto commented, before turning around to face Ari. "Now you know I want everythin' explained, properly this time. I want to know what you're doin' in this war, why you're doin' it, and why you've been away so long." Mizetto demanded softly, planning not to raise his voice and rise suspicions from the sleeping girls nearby. Mizetto took a deep breath. "I'd fight too, in your shoes, and I don't like what's goin' on one bit. Wakin' up not knowin' if tomorrow's goin' to be safe for the girls or if someone's gonna knock on our door and try to kill us. Which is why I'm stayin' put, with my family, the ones who matter to me. If you say you're out there to protect us, then why are you out there, and not right here?"

Ari gave Mizetto a small smile as she sat at the table, knowing that she probably would need to sit down. Lots to explain, and she hoped it didn't end badly, she really did love Mizetto and her kids, and being away really killed her on the inside, but she does need to go and help out, for several reasons. She took in what Mizetto said and asked, trying to form her response, it wasn't easy trying to find the right words, but she did know why she was doing this, and she could give at least that much. "First I have to say again that I really have missed you all, and its killed me on the inside to be away, to leave you with the girls and not get to watch them grow, and you really have done amazing with them, just please don't doubt any of that..." If Mizetto doubted her here, then nothing could break her more, and she knew it would have been too late to fix things. "My race is almost extinct, I need to help protect those who are left, my family, not just you and the girls, but Clue, my fathers... Friends we have made. There's so many out there who need help, I can give that... I go out and fight the front lines because each moment is a step closer to ending the war... I want to stay here with you, but the way I can see things right now, what's actually happening outside these walls... If I stay here, I will be on edge everyday waiting for an ambush, when I can be out there trying to prevent that, for not just you but everyone else." It was difficult to explain, but if she can go out and help stop the war, then she will, because stopping it, is better then watching it rage on with the fear for her family and an ambush, she can direct attention away from Sora and keep them safe, she cant do that on the inside. "And before you say anything, I know that doesn't warrant how long I'm gone at a time, I know its shitty of me... And I'm going to try and get home more often... But Yume is a little slave driver, hell I only have a week now before going back, creating diversions and traps, picking off the enemy one by one."
