Note: Takes place like, maybe a year or a bit less before things really kick off. So I'd say they were all pretty mature now, like late teens to being young adults.
Shinda had learnt years ago how to talk. He'd even learnt all about history and even a bit on how Magic and the Angel's beliefs worked. But one thing he could never learn was how to show how much he cared for someone. Although, that said, Shinda did know the ways to not show it. He shouldn't, for example, go to the older sister of that someone and ask to have her younger sisters become his mate. And in Shinda's defence, Iruka had suggested that to the Demon, even as a joke, Shinda thought his friend was giving serious advice. Shinda had learnt to have a new fear of Tenshi that day. So the Demon knew what not to do. But he had no clue how to treat these feelings otherwise. Or what they even were. The house was, as it was becoming more and more, completely empty other than the Demon. Iruka was out, and Sakana was being more and more drawn into the family business of Sun priest work. So Shinda had the day to himself, hanging around under the constant sunny Aura sky. Iruka had left him jobs that the Angel would usually do himself, but gave to Shinda to stop the Demon complaining about never being able to thank his Angel family for taking care of him. And Shinda picked out the weeds and and maintained the garden with much pride. The jobs were quickly done, leaving the Demon with nothing to do other than wander around. He couldn't go and visit someone else, having no wings meant whatever island Shinda was on, he stayed on. So it really was a lonely day to walk around in his own thoughts.

Sayo was feeling particularly lonely that day. Her sister off out with Rifi, Rifi having planned something that he didn't want anyone else around for, the thought alone made Sayo shake in excitement, having been told the plans. But that didn't help with that fact there was no one around to hang out with, Iruka and Sakana included, but with that in mind, Sayo decided it was time to visit her favourite person on the planet, knowing he wouldn't be busy today, and probably stuck alone. Sticking to her decision, Sayo was quick to uncover her wings, no longer caring what others thought of them, and headed off to find Shinda, it was an easy task really, not having anywhere else to go, without his wings, Sayo wished she could find a way to help him fly alone, if only for a moment. Turing very quiet, Sayo locked onto her target before making a sneaky way over to him, it took a while to master the art of being sneaky, especially around one with great hearing, but as a fellow Demon, she knew the tricks. Sneaking up behind Shinda, Sayo smiled before pouncing on his back. "SHINDA! You seem lonely, want some company?" Sayo remained locked onto Shinda's back, hugging her friend from behind, ignoring the feeling she had in her chest and stomach.

Shinda really did wish he could get his wings back. He'd lost them so young that he'd never even known what flying was like, and what freedom it offered. As much as he loved the others for saving him, Shinda knew that living in this world of clouds, was a hard time without wings. Not that Shinda would ever take back his life here, the clouds and clear sky offered him a peace and friends he'd never had known back in Dranar. But, Shinda just wished he could go around with the others, maybe be the one to visit Sayo for once, if it was safe. Shinda sighed, looking directly up at the moving clouds, debating on what he could do other than wander around. If there were any more chores to do, Shinda or Iruka had done them already. Taking a deep breath of air, Shinda didn't know there was anything else around, any noises or smells weren't new. So he was genuinely surprised when someone hit his back. Wobbling a bit from the force, Shinda soon tried turning his head to look at the person wrapped around him. "Sayo! That was... impressive. I never even heard you." Shinda replied, taking a hold of Sayo's tightly wound arms to help keep her there. The Demon smiled, "To have your company? I'd always want that. How are things? If you're here alone, I can only guess those two are off somewhere."

Sayo giggled as Shinda stumbled, glad that her training paid off, it was a sight to see, Shinda being caught off guard. Wrapping herself around him tighter, Sayo gave a large smile before chuckling softly. "You ask questions a mile a minuet, I'm not going anywhere. And you weren't meant to hear me. So I win!" Looking at Shinda, Sayo gave him a kiss on the cheek before bringing him into another tight hug. "Things are good, lonely today. Big Brother Rifi has finally worked up the courage to ask Big sis something he's been wanting to ask for years... But its incredibly lonely, as I couldn't go with them. But I can hang with my best buddy, so its all good." Moving away from the hug, Sayo jumped up and down on the spot, never being one able to contain her energy. "How are you though, it seems like forever like we last hung out... So I'm like super excited for today, kind of glad I was left alone..." Sayo had hung with Shinda just two days ago, but it always seemed so much longer.

Shinda chuckled back, feeling himself lifted each time Sayo laughed. The Demon frowned, "You win? But I wasn't even ready!" Shinda replied, knowing he wasn't serious, as much as winning at things did appeal to the Demon. He was surprised by the kiss, but was more than willing to accept it, along with the increasing constriction of the hug. With Shinda's tough scales he could take anything, especially if it got him closer to Sayo. Shinda listened, happily cooing quietly as he held equally tight onto Sayo's arms. He could say he wasn't curious about what Rifi was asking Tenshi, but knew how well those two got on together, so it couldn't be anything bad. "All good it is, and same for me. Iruka's off and Sakana's working. So we have each other's company." Able to turn as he was released, Shinda chuckled at Sayo's naturally bounciness. "Forever? It was only a couple of days... But I missed you too." Shinda replied, watching Sayo jump for a bit. "We can't have you hopping forever, so what do you wanna do to let all that bouncy energy out?" Shinda asked. He was mature now, but never one to turn down a good game or two, especially from Sayo.

Sayo chuckled at Shinda's frown, "Your always ready Shinda. And I win every time still..." Sometimes Shinda could be so silly, but Sayo didn't mind, it gave her a laugh. But Sayo was pleased that Shinda wanted her company, still sometimes fearing that they would bore of her, and send her back to that mean place, because Sayo liked it here, she had many friends and didn't have to fight. Blushing a little, as Shinda mentioned he missed her, Sayo wasn't use to such things being said by many, Shinda doing so always warming her heart. "Yeah, forever. Two days is a loooong time, I don't like being away from people that long..." Sayo didn't like being away from anyone period, but somehow, it was something she could handle. Smiling slightly as she bounced, Sayo looked behind her before looking back to Shinda and poking him in the shoulder. "Hah, your it." Running quickly away from him in a fit of giggles, Sayo hoped he was willing to play, not many were.

Shinda was a rather competitive guy. Probably came from Iruka, who no one would ever dare playing a game with, and Iruka avoided playing games himself out of fear of attacking others when losing. Shinda wasn't as bad as Iruka, but he felt a need to be the best at, everything. To protect the others, Shinda needed to be the best after all. Sure, he could punch a boulder and cut it clean in two, but he couldn't hear when Say sneaked up on him. And to Shinda, that wasn't good enough. But he didn't take things too seriously, nothing could when the bubbly Sayo was around, she had a habit of lifting spirits no matter the occasion. The Demon never understood why he was so shy when it came to admitting things to Sayo. His whole issue of how he felt about her could be solved if he only told her. But his tongue seemed to tie itself whenever Shinda went to say something. So he could only hope acting overly kind all the time will slowly move their friendship forward. Besides, they were the only Demons in Aura, Shinda could only assume a connection was bound to, hopefully, happen. Shinda smiled, "If I could fly around, I'd make sure you always had someone around." Shinda replied. Then the soft moment passed as a game began. And this game of tag Shinda was used to. Though, against Sayo it was always more interesting. She had a Demon's edge the others didn't when hunted by Shinda. Growling playfully, Shinda got down on all fours, looking ready to pounce forward with his weighted tail poised. Then dashing after Sayo, the Demon attempted to catch her gently with a claw.

Sayo always loved the kind Shinda, rather then the fighting, must win side of him, she found it so much more like him. And she hoped his kind side would always stay, it wasn't right him being cruel and mean. Smiling as she ran, Sayo was often losing these types of games, not being quick enough in a run, and when she did, she knew its because the others let her, it was sweet of them, but she hoped that one day she would win under her own terms. Looking back slightly, Sayo gave out a screech as she saw Shinda, knowing he wouldn't hurt her, but still changing her position that helps her protect herself more, giving her security, as well as a faster run. "Come on slow poke, you cant catch me!" He could, but it was still fun to provoke him a little, if only for the laughs it will bring, but in her hast to run far enough away, Sayo didn't notice that she managed to trip up over her feet before it was too late, hitting the ground hard in a fit of laughs. It had been a while since she played this game after all, running rather then flying that is.

Shinda knew, if this was a serious hunt, Sayo would already have been caught by him. But of course, Shinda couldn't be all serious and boring around Sayo. He wanted the games to last, everyone did when playing with Sayo, who made them so much more fun. So Shinda didn't dart towards Sayo with incredible speed, rather doing some sort of funny crawl towards her as he pounced. Not catching anything in his hand, Shinda's eyes darted around to find where Sayo had run off to. He chuckled as she dashed away, faking anger as she claimed to be faster. "I have a really heavy tail! It's not easy you know!" Shinda replied as an excuse, before continuing the chase. Shinda winced a little when poor Sayo tripped herself up, almost falling on top of her before gripping hard on the ground. Taking a few breaths, Shinda found himself laughing as well as Sayo did, waddling up to her side and hovering over her head. "Who a slow poke now? That was a nice little dance, Sayo." Shinda said down to her, grinning as he softly chuckled. "And also," Shinda lifted a claw, tapping it on her head, "caught you."

This was certainly Sayo's favourite game, the one she wished people would be willing to play with her more. But with everyone being busy with Jobs or others, she didn't get to play as much as she wants, but Shinda was always willing to play, so waiting to do so was fine. Chuckling as Shinda complained, Sayo looked back slightly. "So? It's never bothered you before." Silly Shinda, she's seen him run so much faster then this, even with his tail being heavy. Laughing much harder as Shinda almost tripped over her, Sayo blushed slightly as he hovered over her... This position one she had only ever seen Tenshi and Rifi in before. Pouting as he called her a slow poke and tapped her head, Sayo thought it very unfair. "Tripped and fell... So don't be a meanie." Sticking her tongue out at him, Sayo gave a chuckle. "And that was cheating, I didn't have time to get back up..."

Shinda couldn't stop the smile on his face, finding how Sayo pouted so cute. Then he chuckled, "Meanie? That's a little harsh." Shinda joked, pretending to look hurt for a moment. But after having to return the sticking the tongue out expression, Shinda dropped his act for a face of amusement. "Sounds like someone's a sore loser." Shinda replied, not going to mention how that, more often than not, Shinda himself was the one to make up excuses for losing or not being good and things. He leaned closer, "And I didn't know this game had rules, or did Sayo make up some so that she always wins?" Shinda muttered, tickling the Demon girls neck before backing up. He took to his ready, on fours position again, tail high in the air. "Well then, lets see if you can catch me." Shinda dared, grinning to Sayo. He did enjoy playing games, it was something lost on the others as they grew up and did more jobs. So for more than one reason, Shinda really enjoyed spending this kind of time with Sayo.

For a moment, Sayo really thought she hurt Shinda, never really being able to tell acting and truth apart when it concerns something she said or did, but as he had a look of amusement again, Sayo felt herself smiling brighter, she never wished to hurt him, ever. "I'm not a sore loser... I always feel like a winner when I get someone to play and have fun like me!" It really was the best feeling in the world for her. Blushing as read as a tomato as Shinda got closer and ticked her neck, Sayo gave out a chuckle through it. "There's rules to a game of tag?" Sayo gave a funny look to him, this was something new to her, she always thought it was literally run from the person on, until you were on yourself, then again, she was often trying to wrangle out of being tagged, because it was funnier watching others run for their 'lives'. Smiling to Shinda as he got ready to run again, Sayo herself got ready to chase, intending to prove herself. "Sure I can catch you, I did so earlier didn't I?"

Shinda couldn't feel hurt, apart from the time he'd desired to know his old home, Shinda couldn't recall being upset. He didn't understand the emotion very well, mixing sadness and aggression, the latter of which he refused to show around others out of the sheer need to keep them safe and happy. And for Sayo to hurt Shinda, well that was impossible, even spending a few minutes with Sayo's company felt perfect, and could never upset Shinda. The Demon did notice the blush, glad for his skin being reddish as it was, so any sort of blush was lost on Shinda's cheeks. But it felt, nice almost, to see Sayo blush like that. "And we're grateful for it, life would be boring without play and fun right?" Shinda replied with a smile. He moved his head side to side, "Sort of, the only rule being run and don't get caught, unless a certain someone feels like making some up." Shinda answered with a grin. Shinda jumped back a bit, doing some funny little prances to keep out of Sayo's reach. "Well yeah, but I wasn't prepared then. This time'll be different." Shinda said, dashing off around the garden, making sure to avoid and weave through any plantation that not long ago Shinda himself was maintaining. After a little run, Shinda decided to do something even more fun. He kept allowing Sayo to get close, before hopping away. He didn't assume, so long as he put his all into not getting caught for now, that Sayo had a chance of tagging him.

Sayo wouldn't know how to live if fun didn't exist, things would be so boring, so she was glad to give people the chance to have it themselves, if only for a moment. Smiling up to Shinda, Sayo giggled, she had plenty of rules she could add, all to help her, but she wouldn't do that, it would be cheating, and that wouldn't be fun. "If I make up rules, there's no way you would win..." Sayo kept reaching out to catch Shinda, but he was being such a huge tease, jumping out the way in time, giving a small groan of annoyance, Sayo pouted. "I don't like you being prepared, you tease me too much..." This being proven as Shinda halted in the run, and began hopping out the way before she caught him. Giving an annoyed huff, Sayo had a brilliantly awesome plan. Standing on the spot, she forced herself to cry, knowing that Shinda would feel bad and try to help, "Teasing is so mean..." ... Waiting for a few seconds, as he stopped and looked to her, Sayo reached out and tripped Shinda to the ground, landing so she was sitting on his stomach. "Haha, I win, again. Its like you weren't even trying Shinda." Sayo chuckled a little, knowing he did, and she just played unfairly, but it was amusing to be part of.

Shinda chuckled. He was pretty sure he could never win anyway, letting Sayo win and then boast about it was too cute to watch compared to taking the win. And despite how much Shinda did like winning, letting her take the glory, cheating or not, was better. Shinda moved with ease, his current jumps and runs didn't feel even half of what he could do, so it was amusing to see Sayo get teased by it all. Shinda laughed, taking a moment to even crouch on his back legs and fold his arms over his chest. "See? When I'm ready, it's a completely different story. No sneaking up or tricking me." Shinda boasted, getting quickly back into the game of jumping back and out of the way. He even did a few little taunts, making his tail dance around, pretending to have his eyes closed, pretending to be off balance. It was all so much fun. But, maybe Shinda have overlooked his fun for Sayo's game-based misery. Perhaps his teasing was a little harsh, but Shinda didn't expect tears. And he really didn't like seeing Sayo upset. Shinda stopped moving, feeling bad for upsetting Sayo, and honestly thinking that he'd been mean about it. "Sorry, I-" Shinda began, beginning to shuffle closer. Then all of a sudden, Sayo's tears stopped, and she knocked the balance off Shinda's feet, causing him to crash down onto his back. Then the little sneaky Demon sat on top of Shinda, when Shinda could finally catch up with what happened. Shinda growled, "That really was cheating Sayo! You knew I couldn't continue if it upset you." Shinda barked, before he himself gave up his act, giving into a little chuckle. Shinda sighed, "I suppose you do always win, I might as well give in and admit it, huh?"
