Ru moved a hand to Kaku's cheek and slowly stroked the skin found, he really couldn't be happier then he was with Kaku. And was willing to throw everything away if it meant being able to spend even one day with him, not guarded, around many, being able to show the world who Kaku belonged to, and who Ru gave his once guarded heart to. Giving a bitter sweet smile to Kaku, Ru knew then and there that, that promise Kaku is asking him to make is one he cannot. "I recall you asking this of me before. I cannot promise not to die, nor can I promise not to sacrifice myself if it means protecting those I care for... Yes, I remember that conversation... But as I did that day, I promise to try all other means first before accepting death.... Because at the end of the day I still see life as something to give away if it means protecting those I care for... Knowing they live on, survive, that makes me happy... I only have two, maybe three... and a half that I care for. You, Chester... Akvan if he gives himself happiness with Chester, and I guess in a strange way Neko too... And I want you all to live." Giving a long, chaste kiss to Kaku, Ru smiled. "I will never stop loving you, no matter what happens now or in the future. I want nothing more than to be myself around everyone rather than the selected few, but my past has shaped me far too much already to do that.... But here with you, I can be myself, and that means everything to me, and knowing its thanks to you, I fall in love with you all over again, Kaku."

Kaku knew he acted childishly when thinking like this. The naive hope he had that he could stop everyone from dying. The Angel was known for being a fierce protector, seeing no fear as he ran head first into danger. There was seemingly nothing the strong Guardian feared. Excluding death. It was the one thing that, no matter how strong Kaku became, no matter how hard he tried, it was the one thing he couldn't defeat. And for Kakushin, the only way he could protect others from death was by having their word. The Angel couldn't help but drop his eyes to the side. Kakushin eventually sighed, returning his gaze to the irresistible purple eyes above him. He supposed, unless he tied down everyone he cared for, Kaku couldn't make them agree to that promise, he could only make his own intervention to make sure that none of Kaku's fears never came to light. Kakushin held onto Rurushu's kiss for as long as he could, listening with eyes still tearing up as Rurushu continued his heart-felt point. "The Rurushu I know here is the one I'll never let go, and he's the only Rurushu, as far as I'm concerned. I don't have to pretend that there is a side to you that lies in the dark path, because that one doesn't exist. You're unique, and precious to me, Ruru." Kakushin stopped, pulling Ru down so that their lips were forced against each other. He then slowly pulled himself, and Rurushu who was wrapped around his arms, up so they were sitting. "And I plan on protecting you, no matter what future we do have to face."

Ru gave a small smile to Kaku, and happily returned the kiss with just as much fever as Kaku did so, allowing himself to be pulled up into sitting, Ru grabbed the sides of Kaku's face and gently used his thumbs to wipe away the un-fallen tears. Rurushu knew things being said by Kaku would all turn out as lies... He had no idea what the Outlaws had planned, and Ru knew with every fibre of his being that Kaku will hate him for what they were planning on doing... It was so bitter sweet, and Ru knew he didn't deserve Kaku, not even in the slightest. Holding back his tears, and a chocked sob, Ru gave Kaku a kiss and held him tight to his body. "We'll be protecting each other..." 'But I wont let you get harmed for my sake.' Ru knew that he wouldn't let Kaku get harmed for his sake, and would do anything to keep the other alive. He wanted to tell him that Ru wouldn't let Kaku do anything stupid, not for him, but he couldn't... The best thing Ru could do was keep Kaku away from the affairs. "With you, I am nothing but myself... I do have a dark side, you just haven't seen it yet. But with every breath of my body, I will make sure you never do."

It was hard to face the reality of their situation. As smoothly as they accepted their situation, fogging out the detail with the emotions felt to one another, Kaku and Ru both knew the consequences of this relationship. They were two sides of a war ready to be made, and Kakushin was sure that if it wasn't for Rurushu's feelings, he'd be hunting material for the Outlaws by now. Kakushin may act like an idiot, but he knew through his naivety that things as they were now would likely change in the future. But, Kakushin didn't want to act like the mature Guardian he should be, he didn't want to accept that future and remain cautious in the present. He wanted to feel happy, something sapped from his life long ago, that he longed to feel for as long as he could. Happiness to Kakushin was being around those who managed to make a mark on his life, the ones locked to his heart. Even if he knew in the end it would leave his heart covered in scars, Kaku felt the joy was worth the risk. Kakushin sniffed, wanted to remove all thoughts of Rurushu disappearing, or changing to someone Kaku didn't recognise. He wanted to forget he'd ever even thought of the dark future, and remain in the light of the present. His hands clenched around the back of Rurushu, longing to remain there forever. "Is it naive of me to say I don't believe you?" Kaku muttered, smiling slightly. "I only find belief in what I can see, I believe in the Sun, because she is there, watching us during the day from the furthest corners of the skies. I believe in true happiness, because I can see it in the faces of those willing to accept its existence, and I can watch as their faces glow with pure bliss. I believe that there is more to this world than we winged beings give credit for, the very sanctuary we rest in now is proof of that. And I believe that a persons conviction cannot change, one cannot change from good to evil. Our personalities are our souls, and you cannot simply change a persons soul. I can believe it because I can see it, you can tell what a person is like by looking into their eyes. Whilst the person can express emotion through their face, their smile or frown, their eyes cannot hide the truth." Kakushin stopped for a moment, gazing directly into the royal purple eyes of his love. "Funny, I don't see any dark side in your eyes, I just see the soul of the person I chose to love, not because of who I assume him to be, but because of who I know him to be." The Angel closed his eyes, head pressed firmly against the head of the person he chose to truth wholeheartedly. "And I know he is someone I care for, someone I can trust with a promise, someone I can love despite whatever future may face us."

Ru made sure not to release his grip on Kaku, those words, Ru would never be able to even show how much they meant to him. He never thought that he would ever have anyone so close to him, have someone he could care for and trust so much. Ru's past had been terrible, never really having anyone to go to for help and never feeling as if he belonged, life was just there, he always saw life as your born, you live a terrible unproductive life and then you die, not truly being able to make a mark on the world. When Itami came, Ru felt as if he could finally find a new leash on life, but never did. But now, being here with Kaku, Ru knew there was so much more... He didn't have to think or act so darkly, he didn't need to show that side of himself or let others feel the same way. Ru chuckled slightly when Kaku finished speaking, of course it was naïve of him to think that way. Rurushu was second in command of a rebellion intent on destroying everything the Guardian was, there was no way Ru didn't have a dark side... He's killed, and laughed in the victims faces, he's stretched the truth to others as to get them to do things they never thought they would have to do. He gave Kaku a long passionate kiss, making sure to throw all unsaid and un-speak able emotions into that one kiss, never in his life, did Ru think he would ever be so in love. "Its very naïve of you my love. I know myself, and I know there is a side of me that is pure evil and hatred. But now I can see, thanks to you, and the truth and love I see in your eyes... I know that, that side of me isn't as bad anymore, it physically cant be, you have moulded the evil sides of me into something good and pure. That once dark side took up most of my heart, hatred and a longing for something better taking up the space that could have been used to make others lives pure and loved. Now taken over with a light that makes me wish to do just that. And for that Kaku, I cannot be thankful enough, and I will also love you no matter what future will face us." And what a future it will be, if Itami got her way...

Kakushin was known to be rather naive, and he did so knowing he was wrong. He'd been wrong in almost everything in life, so much so that he no longer even tried to be right. He knew that Rurushu had his bad side, but refused to believe it because he could. Because it was easier to live in naivety than accept the reality and let danger overtake the need to feel and to love someone else. Kaku held onto Ru's kiss like a gift, clutching him tighter as he listened to every movement Rurushu made as he began to speak. Words Kaku wanted to hear, and ones that Rurushu meant with his heart. To acknowledge that he wasn't bad, or evil, or dark to Kaku was all the Angel wanted Ru to understand. Kaku brushed his hand over Ru's cheek, down to his neck and then to pull him closer towards Kakushin. "I know I'm a naive little Angel. But if I wasn't stubborn, and if I did try and accept the unlikely sides of reality, I know what a boring life I'd live. I'm stubborn enough to refuse to lose you, no matter what kind of situation we find ourselves in, I'm making sure that I can continue to have you in my life, sharing it with me."
Kakushin pressed a kiss over Rurushu's lips, pinning the Demon straight down onto the ground as he did, sure to not be too forceful, but still have his fun. Giggling, Kakushin eventually pulled away, not after leaving a few more touches against Ru's lips, and stood up slowly. He glanced to the temple, and then back down to the Demon. "Come on," Kakushin suggested, offering a hand down, "Let's go explore a bit, I personally like climbing to the top, and we can always come back down her later."

Ru could have said more, but the Demon held his tongue, he did not wish to be the one to 'crack' Kaku out of his naïve self... He guessed in a way that it was a good thing, to have that freedom, Ru could never think in such ways, it being more dangerous then anything else. "As I never want to lose you, and will do all in my power to make sure you remain by my side, no matter the consequences." Ru once more happily accepted the kiss, allowing himself to be pushed to the ground, he wouldn't change things for the entire world and as Kaku began to get up, leaving the kiss, Ru followed making sure to keep that contact for a few more moments. Accepting the hand to help him up, Ru took a quick glance around, he would love to explore this place, but he was happy for the prospect of being able to come back down here. "I'll race you to the top, no wings unless you begin to fall..... And then I am going to have to take a dive into the water from the top of the waterfall..." Giving a smile towards Kaku, wrapping his arms around the Guardian for a quick hug and kiss, before winking to him and running ahead as to get to the top first.

Kaku was always up for a race, but he wasn't quite sure Rurushu knew just quite who he as challenging. Wings or no wings, Kakushin solely trained himself in speed of attacks and running, he'd soared both himself and Ru halfway into the clouds in a second, for example. So to hear Ru expecting to be able to properly race him made the Angel chuckle. "Alright then, challenge accepted," Kaku replied with bravo and confidence, "first one to reach the top of the greater waterfall wins... I hope you know what you've got into, Ruru." Kakushin winked, holding the Demon tight into the hug, forcing it to be longer. "As a little wager, lets say whoever loses does what the other wants, this pick outs 'loyal dog' in other words. Wishing you luck, Ruru." Kakushin offered, not even hesitating with the bet. It was obvious who would win. Kakushin knew Ru was a good fighter, he could keep up with the Angel's fighting style for a good ten minutes, and that was impressive. His magic was stronger than Kaku's, but none but his own teacher could beat Kaku in a race.
Kaku stood still to watch Ru's legs carry the adorable guy forward for a bit, knowing he didn't need a head start in this race. Once was Kakushin was satisfied with watching Ru slowly get smaller, the Angel sighed with content, before skipping off into a stead sprint. It didn't take long to gather up distance between Rurushu and him. Kakushin could have chuckled if he wasn't controlling his breathing as he ran, and so slowed down as he began to pass Ru, patting the Demon's head with a sly grin before passing. He sped up afterwards, going through a small temple area, admiring the well kept arches as he passed. The next length of the race was a straight uphill road, incredibly steep. It wasn't cheating, but Kakushin did have an advantage, he'd been there before. And so, instead of taking the open road clearly displayed, Kaku made a right, straight into the thick, cherry tree forestation. He hoped across the tilted trees, using them to climb the steep slope, without losing momentum during the climb. Once diving out of the cherry blossoms in a cloud of pink petals, Kaku took a short breather. He glanced down the hill, not even able to see his partner anymore. The river to the first waterfall ran strong nearby, and Kaku took a moment to observe the water. It was probably around here where Itamu had once been carried off by a Angel-craving giant fish. Dangerous creatures, but worth it to catch for the taste. Kaku smiled, looking into the white, foamy water with an idea. He could always catch a fish now for later, do Rurushu a favour by catching dinner. Kaku soon returned to the waters edge with a quickly made fishing pole, hooking one of his feathers on the end. He had plenty of time, the monster of a slope Rurushu had to face would give the Angel plenty of time for giant fishing.

"Agreed," Ru was fine accepting the little bet before rushing off, and even when Kaku caught up to him he was confident that he would win. The Guardian may be faster, but Ru was more manipulative and had a plan prepared, after all such a thing was in his Demon blood. Slowing down as he reached the cliff of the greatest waterfall, Ru watched as Kaku disappeared behind the cherry blossoms, knowing this was his only chance to carry out his plan without the other seeing him, Ru was quick to climb the rock until he was safely behind the waterfall and secured tightly holding a rock and standing on a small ledge. Reaching behind, Ru carefully removed the cloak from around his neck and taking a tight hold to it, and gripping the rock tighter with the other hand. Looking around, Ru couldn't decide if he wanted to laugh or curse out the Guardian for being so confident in winning that he would begin to fish, but Ru couldn't complain, from here his plan would work out much better. Holding out the cloak, Ru allowed the waterfall to take hold of it and send the cloth towards the lake below. Wasting no time, Ru climbed his way back onto solid ground and made sure to keep himself out of Kaku's range before setting out his wings and flying to the top of the waterfall.... He was a Demon after all.

Kakushin didn't feel any motion in the rope, perhaps this area was too rushed for the fish to swim properly. Or perhaps the giant fish no longer swam in this area, since it had been years since Kaku's last visit. He hummed a little, smiling as he heard no noise from Rurushu below. Poor Demon, probably exhausted by the climb or given up by now, Kakushin knew it must be tough to lose to an Angel. He eventually close his eyes, keeping one hand on the pole in case something caught. But then there was a distinct splash that didn't come from the line. Kakushin looked around, eventually leaving his fishing pole to look over the edge of the smaller waterfall. Odd, something made the water stir at the bottom, and Kakushin could only check it wasn't a fish...
But realizing what it was made Kaku almost fall himself. Rurushu did say something about jumping off the waterfall, Kaku hadn't really paid attention since he was focusing on the race idea. He should have told the Demon that it was a dumb idea. It looked deep, but that water was bone breaking-ly shallow, plus the force of the waterfall was unforgiving. Kaku gulped, summoning his wings quickly to jump down to his loves aid. He hid the panic well, but inside Kaku was freaking out, if anything had happened, it would break Kakushin just like it had literally broken Rurushu. Kaku slowly landed in the shallow waters, following the floating cape as it was pushed towards the shoreline. It floated kinda strange, but Kaku didn't care reaching it quickly to hopefully pull his living love to safety. But what was revealed to Kaku was something more emotionally disturbing. Nothing, just a soaking cape. It only took Kaku a moment to realize his mistake, glaring up to the top. "Dammit Rurushu! Just wait until I get up there!" Kaku yelled, wading to the shore before hearing yet another splash. Kaku rolled his eyes, what, did Ru drop a boot this time? The Angel turned slowly, not amused in the slightest. But he didn't have the time to be mad, as the jaws of something big wrapped around his leg. It didn't hurt, since the fish didn't have teeth, but falling face down onto the rocky shore did as Kaku was tugged back.
Suddenly, Kaku became what had happened to Itamu years ago, and Kakushin hated the irony. He struggled in the water, trying to keep it out of his nose and mouth as the large fish dragged him around the lake by his foot. The fish then did something crazy, with one big leap, it began to swim up the waterfall, like a giant salmon. Kaku coughed as much as he could when he got the chance to breath, before being submerged as they continued to climb. This was a painful, and unconventional way of climbing to the top of the larger waterfall, but it wasn't like Kaku was given much of a choice anymore. He just knew that as soon as he could stop himself drowning, and hopefully free himself from the giant fish, Rurushu was dead Demon meat.

Ru made it to the top of the waterfall in one piece, and he resorted to dusting himself off and checking his hands. He knew he was good as dead meat the second Kaku figured out what he did, but Ru was willing to 'forfeit' the race and let Kaku win considering he cheated, but that's is Kaku does decide to be merciful and let Ru live. It felt weird without his cloak, and hoped that maybe he could later salvage it to at least last the next few days, but once more that was a possibility he shouldn't hope for. He could hear Kaku yell from the bottom, not what he said, but the tone was not a happy one, taking what could be his last breath, Ru looked over the edge, and nearly fell over the side in laughter. He watched as Kaku was suddenly grabbed and pulled into the water, wincing only slightly during his laughing when he hit the shore... Oh how he wished he cold capture this moment forever. Flying over the edge, Ru could not stop his tears of laughter as he watched the fish begin to somehow swim up the waterfall. Finally taking pity on the drowning Angel, Ru reached over to grab hold of Kaku before flying both the Guardian and the fish to the top of the waterfall, well away from the edge, before freeing Kaku's leg of the cave and making sure the fish was dead, knowing this is probably what they would be having later as food. Checking the others leg for wounds, and luckily finding none, Ru gave him a sheepish smile and prepared for the impending attack, but knowing that it was to come, Ru thought it wouldn't hurt to add in at least one jab... "Have a nice swim love?"

Kaku's head was full of water. All he could hear was the rush of water clogging up with ears. He'd expected the aid of Rurushu, but he knew Demons loved to have their fun first. Even though Kaku was literally drowning now, he knew Ru wouldn't care until his laughter ended. The fish seemed so strong, and it made it a little bad that Kaku had once laughed himself as Itamu had been dragged away by one these beasts. Finally, Kakushin felt himself lifted into air, head no longer surrounded by the rushing water. He shook his head as he was lifted up, feeling a warmer water drip from his head. He must have hit his head pretty hard during the first pull from the fish, because his head pounded when it was shaken. Ru carried them back to the top, probably how the little cheat got up here earlier to win. Gasping for air, Kaku sat soaked as Rurushu removed the fish. Clearing his throat of the remaining water, Kaku gave Ru a glare of pure blood lust. The final comment just throw Kaku's stomach into a spin, and he almost growled with the frustration. "Oh it was delightful dear, why don't you try it?" Kaku asked, having a grin of his own as he wrapped his love in his soaked cloak that Kaku had lovingly held onto through the hold ordeal. He'd planned on giving it back, and in a way he was. With Ru caught in the cloak, Kaku ignored the concussion in his head, and dragged a squirming Rurushu towards the calmer part of the river on the top of the waterfall. He chucked the Demon in, following in afterwards to try and dunk Rurushu right into the chilly water.

Ru died down any laughter threatening to be let out when he saw the look from Kaku, there was no way he was getting out of punishment from this. The thought both terrified him and amused him greatly, considering he took a slight pleasure in riling up his usual calm Guardian. But all trace of smile left his face when Kaku mentioned he should try it... He would want anything but to be dragged into that freezing water. Struggling and shouting out curses as the soaking wet cloak wrapped around him, not even finding a happiness that Kaku held onto it to return it. "KAKU IM SORRY DONT DRAG ME INTO... AHHH." Ru felt himself reach out to grab a hold of anything he could, failing miserably might I add, before hitting the water and shivering straight away, but that didn't last long when he was fighting with a 'trying to drown him' Kaku dunking his head under the water. Finally untangling himself from the cloak, and fighting away Kaku, Ru spit out all the water from his mouth and glared at the other. "I admit, I deserved that... And because I cheated, you win the bet... But I ain't doin' anything you tell me too until im dry again..." Reaching out, Ru grabbed hold of Kaku's hips and dragged the other towards him before giving a kiss to the lips. When he felt the other was into it, he smirked into the kiss and resorted to dunking Kaku under the river. He had to get his revenge for that...

Kaku laughed harshly at the squirming Demon, feeling a new sense of joy from watching Rurushu splash about as Kaku made sure he couldn't free himself from the water's grasp for as long as it was funny. But Kaku was the Angel, and even though he wanted more fun, he knew it might be too mean. So he let Ru struggle himself out of the hold of his cloak, leaving Ru to cough up any cold water. Kaku giggled, standing and watching with a sneer. "Damn right I won, you little cheat.... well what can I expect from a Demon. I guess I should get used to it." Kaku replied, smiling a little lighter to his loved Demon. Kaku would have to think of some things to have his loyal dog do, and couldn't wait to design the perfect punishment for the cheating Demon. Kaku still giggled, more than happy to be pulled into a kiss. He supposed Rurushu could earn his forgiveness, and ways like this were very preferable. Kaku assumed the chilling punishments were behind them, until the Demon pulled him under again. Kaku got out a little squawk before hitting the water, blowing bubbles as he refused to let water go up his nose. Whilst under, Kaku made a grab for Rurushu, trying to pull the other under as well. If he thought he could dunk Kaku and get dry whilst laughing at the soaking Angel, Ru was sorely mistaken.

Ru knew he would be dunked once more, and didn't even struggle as Kaku got him under once more. Keeping hold of his breath and managing to get his head above water, Ru gave a lopsided smile towards Kaku and laughed. "It had to be done..." Pulling himself from the river, offering a hand down to Kaku, finally wishing to actually get dry, Ru hung his wet cloak on a nearby tree and shook himself to get rid of any access water. "Im absolutely freezing... Who's idea was this again?" Ru believed getting so wet was due to his cheating... But at the same time he was fully willing to let his beloved take the blame, especially considering he saved the others life from a fish... Removing his shoes, and setting down comfortably in the sun, Ru reached up to drag down Kaku next to him, they both needed to get dry before they actually went around exploring. Looking over to Kakushin, Ru gave him a predatory smile before leaning over the other. "The big bad cheating Demon saving his beloved Guardian Angel from a fish, huh?"
